A very pleasant evening with the very kind owner (Nicola), who explained how the various dishes are created and prepared. He exudes passion and pleasure. The only small flaw was that it was a particularly cold evening; the atmosphere became less warm as the evening progressed. If I were to return to the area, I would definitely return.

A truly surprising experience. In a restaurant with such a simple appearance, one wouldn't expect cuisine of this caliber: carefully crafted dishes, impeccable flavors, and a quality of ingredients reminiscent of haute cuisine. The service is attentive, professional, and never intrusive, showcasing every course. It's true that the slot machine room detracts from the atmosphere, and the bathrooms aren't particularly impressive, but these details are overshadowed by what's served. The desserts are simply fabulous, a worthy conclusion to a high-end gastronomic journey. The wine selection is also excellent, well-researched and able to satisfy a wide range of palates. A restaurant definitely worth a visit for those seeking quality, flavor, and a pleasant surprise.

I had lunch on this holiday with my boyfriend. We had booked for 1:00 PM with the fork (just for convenience) and arrived shortly before 1:00 PM. They seated us in a very nice room and let us choose a table. Once seated, they brought us the menu, which we had already browsed using the fork, and we proceeded to order. We had two appetizers, two main courses (all fish), two desserts, two glasses of wine, and two coffees. Everything EXCEEDED our expectations. EXCELLENT food, average atmosphere, and TOP service! The owner served us himself, explaining all the dishes and delighting us with some of his little anecdotes. We will definitely be back to try other dishes! We wholeheartedly recommend it! I've never been a big fan of happy hour bars, especially those that offer lunch or dinner in addition to the traditional buffet. Perhaps I was unlucky, but every time I've dined at such a place, I've found mediocre quality dishes at rather high prices. When a group of friends invited me to dinner at Il Principe, I accepted with considerable reservations. The place is just 250 meters from my house, and I pass by at least twice a day, but I've always ignored it for the reasons I've just mentioned. From the outside, it looks like a well-kept bar serving traditional Ligurian dishes. Yet, at the end of the dinner, I immediately voted it the best restaurant in Sarzana. First and foremost, the owner—who attentively looked after us throughout the evening—proved to be truly passionate about his work. He believes in what he offers and was able to enthusiastically explain the dishes without being intrusive, even offering us advice on choosing from the menu. The dishes, mostly seafood, are impressive both for their meticulous presentation and the excellent quality of the ingredients. I personally found the Cappon Magro to be extraordinary, as was the larded tuna roll. Other diners also raved about the Stuffed Muscoli, the Paccheri allo scoglio, and the Marinated Cod. The final bill, finally, was even lower than expected. Once again, prejudices and cognitive biases risk keeping us from discovering authentic gems... even just a stone's throw from home.
