Breakfast was good and the food came quick.

We were in town for a family event, stopped in to get breakfast. Lisa was our waitress and she was amazing. She checked on us frequently and was kind and funny. The food was great, Didn't have to use an extra salt or sauces it was perfect. I liked the fact that it had that classic Danny's feel.

Location was older, but food was excellent. Our server Diana, took our order for 5, never writing anything down. Our order was perfect. Not to mention she was incredibly friendly, and so sweet to my parents who were celebrating their 56th anniversary that day.

Stephanie is the BEST and I mean BEST servers ever!!! You just have to tip this woman, no lie! Great personality, very lively, couldn't ask for such a greater server here. I'm a corporate business guy and I know quality when I see it. This is great place to be, the atmosphere is just the same as Stephanie and truthfully, I did bring my entire family here to eat when we get a chance. Definite 5 star

When I first walked inside Denny's on Nott Terrace on July 7, 2018 after I went to the museum, which is up the road from Denny's, everything inside looks different. It just got remodeled. Here are photos of what it looks like now inside that Denny's. Just above the window where the employees (waitresses and waiters) bring orders to the customers where the kitchen is located, now says: "BREAKFAST, LUNCH, DINNER, and LATE NITE." Denny's stays open 24 hours a day. Denny's now has a strict rule for people who aren't eating inside, that its restrooms are only for its customers. The waitresses, and waiters are nice and friendly.

This location has a notice to vacate on the interior door, must be because the city of schenectady shut it down? Went inside this morning but was told we are closed. I loved this place every time including yesterday morning, but the city must have told them to vacate the premises.

The experience here at Denny’s was the best. Diane our server brought the food out friendly and fast. Sue the manager made sure that everything was excellent. I had 4 lonely days in Schenectady and was reluctant to venture out into unknown restaurants. On my way to one that seemed okay, I saw the Denny's on Nott Street and thought I'd go there instead of driving further. It was not crowded at all, and I didn't feel uncomfortable. When I got my order, I was pleasantly surprised. I looked very well prepared. I really enjoyed it. Good value for the price and friendly service. I came back the next day and the next. The next morning, as we were leaving, I took my son for breakfast, and we both enjoyed it. Vanessa was our waitress and gave us great service, just like previously. She even encouraged me to use my AARP card for a discount. We had a great breakfast and reluctantly said our goodbyes. I'm happy to recall that Denny's and Vanessa were the high point of my trip to Schenectady.

Overall, it was very pleasant, and the food was pretty tasty. Very kind and fast service. Was more pricey than expected, but nothing was too crazy. The only problem here was the apple crisp pie. It was a little bland and way too sweet. Would definitely love to come back soon for a very delicious dinner or lunch in the future.

Came in to celebrate Labor Day with a little breakfast out, surprisingly quite with only a few other patrons around but the service was still fast and super friendly. Went with an order of the Double Berry Pancake Breakfast, which included two pancakes with bananas, strawberries, and blueberries. Hash brows, eggs, and bacon. Eggs were scrambled perfectly, the hash browns had a nice crunchy shell to a well cooked interior, and the bacon was alright. The pancakes on the other hand had a ton of fruit, but the flavor was undercut by this strange peppery flavor that was inside the pancakes themselves. Not a cinnamon or a nutmeg spiciness, but a true black pepper sort of flavor. Very off putting sadly, and only made bearable by the abundant fruit toppings. Paid things forward for a lady who came in after us who seemed to be tight on funds, so we covered her whole meal and threw in a coffee that she seemed to want but couldn't afford. Hope she has a good day! Came in hungry, left feeling satisfied both physically and emotionally.

If I could give 3.5 stars I would. It's a shame that the other Denny's closed down. We've been to this location twice recently. The first time we had excellent service. During that visit it was hot and humid in the dining room and the bananas served to my kids were not ripe, at, all. Otherwise it was a great experience, great service and great food. The more recent time was a tiny bit less good; most of the food was very good, but my wife's food was mostly too cold when it should have been hot/warm. Also, this time the dining room was cold, almost like there isn't any heating/cooling in there. AND, I had to ask for coffee refill; To me great diner service is when the wait staff keeps your coffee warm/topped off without asking. So there's room for improvement, but nothing too bad, and definitely overall worth going back.

We have had better experiences at Denny's. We were stuck in the back room and I think they forgot about us until they sat more people there 30 minutes later. Our waitress was great at remembering what we ordered without writing it down, but that's where the good service stopped. My mom and sister were getting dripped on by the condensation coming from an air vent over their heads, so they scooched away from the drips. My dad suggested we move, but they said that was too much work. lol! We all ordered breakfast, which is normally quick, right? Not on that day... 45 minutes later, we finally got our breakfasts. There were only 5 people in our party, but the service was super slow.

I've always loved this location. 😍 I've always been raised to enjoy this restaurant in more ways than one. However unfortunately recently when I went with my husband we've had to encounter an unpleasant moment. The waitress was great the service was great. However when there was a mishap with my hash browns the waitress was able to get a new order placed, however the head chef I presume didn't take too lightly to that. He started to make a fresh order however he started taking it out on the waitress.🥺 He continued making comments which didn't help because we were in earshot of everything. He was saying from things like if she wants it done a certain way she can come back here and cook it herself. She's too spoiled 🙄she can learn how to take orders and cook herself. I'm better than her and if she doesn't like it then she can do it herself. It made me feel ashamed😥 that I had even asked for a fresh order of hash browns being that the hash browns came out light and a little undone. I apologized for asking for the New order and she told me it was not my fault that she was actually used to him talking to her and other workers and waitresses in that same manner and tone. It really had me baffled because I had seen some of the familiar faces of the staff there before so when I asked how long he had been cooking there and was noted it only had been 6 months I gave them all a big congratulations on being able to put up with that type of person in a work environment that seems like such a big family to put up with that kind of person in a work environment of such a friendly environment. I love that environment of Denny's in the family or it brings so much that I will return I just hope that maybe I will catch him on a better day and a better attitude.🙏🏾

Employee appoligized, stated they previously offerered to fix seat with brown duct tape, but mgmnt declined stated it would look tacky? I guess a ripped, open seat is acceptable for customers? Food was good, kitchen employees were stressed though, could hear complaints w servers ( loud, in the open ).

The food here is no bueno because the cooks work in a tiny hallway and the griddle is too hot for hashbrowns. bathrooms are icky. Last Denny’s left West of the Hudson River…Sad. It’s Denny’s nothing special, foods decent, service is severely lacking and the prices are almost $20 for EVERYTHING, gone are $2, $4, $6, $8 etc. But they’re still in business and you still can’t go wrong with a spicy skillet! Waitress gave us the discount because the Dennys App wouldn’t open and the AARP card wouldn’t scan….that was nice. Owners must not be local, they don’t know where Central Park is (literally just up the street) but they know about Albany’s Washington Park….hmmm I say this because they were standing on either side of our table, the only one in the building, having a conversation about it over us…. Clueless. I really wanted to tell them Central Park was less than a mile up the road but I also wanted to just leave and go elsewhere, so we did. I’m sure we’ll be back…. Probably for a Birthday Breakfast Familiarize yourself with your surroundings if you own a business in an urban setting, get to know the neighborhood.

I've never experienced such bad customer service before, my waitress was bad talking her coworkers and manger while serving us. While we were waiting on our food she took a smoke break right by the window we were sitting at and continued her conversation about her co workers. Overall one of the worst customer service experience I've ever had. The food was okay but we couldn't wait to get out of there.

I was at this location with my disabled brother and the server made a comment to the other server that she didn't want to take us because my brother was "retarded"! My Fiancée and I decided that we would come as we have not been since we were kids. Now I knew this location wouldn't be the best location ever. But it is the closest to my house. We had the nicest waitress though. We were the only ones in there and she had asked for soup. The waitress had asked the cook if he had any. He very rudely replied no. She then asked if he had it to make. He rudely again answered yes but he was not going to. She went to tell him that there were finally customers here and that he had to make it. He said too bad. The waitress offered to make it for us but we denied since that is not her job. She dis give us extra food. I hope they treat that waitress good over there cause she really treated us well and accommodated what had happened. Other than that, it was really dirty in there. It really made me tingle when one of the workers husband came. They let their dog right up on that table. With the food and all.

I was dining in at this location and ordered the Triple Juicy Burger and was informed that now they serve it as a double as the patty size increased from 8oz to 10oz. That makes zero sense, as it is advertised as a triple and if that's not the case it should be changed. Further, 8 x 3 = 24, 10 x 2 = 20. I'm being charge the same amount for 4oz's less. Ordered online and set the time for pick up for 1:30 I got there at about 1:40 for my order. I waited for about 10 minutes before I finally said something the lady (didn't get her name) asked me to wait she wpuld be with me I informed her that I ordered online and was just picking it up, and she said one moment so I waited. She came and finally asked the name on the order I told her she walked over to my order and said oh it's not ready yet. I stood there waiting and no one said anything for another 5 mIn inutes I finally asked another lady working for a refund, she asked what I ordered and the name I told her, and she walked over to the same bag the first lady said wasn't mine and brings me my order! At this point I don't want it I just want a refund! The first lady was very much rude and I WILL NOT order from this Danny’s on Nott St. ever again not to add it smells like urine near the bathrooms. The only positive was Bill the manager was helpful in assisting with my refund.

The server consistently gives by far the worst service possible and even refused to give us her name because she knew exactly what she was doing. I do not know if it is a race thing or the server for late dinners is just naturally rude and disrespectful to all her customers but she always makes me and my family feel very unwelcome. From giving us dirty dishes, my water literally have a bug in it, to verbally telling us off, when we asked for a different cup because of the literal bug in she was swearing and complaining about us very loudly “under hear breathe” because we would not just deal with clearly dirty dishes. She was horrible and ruined the whole experience. I personally would not take your family here especially if you’re a person of color.

I went to this Denny's with my family. We were very warmly greeted and seated by one of the waiters. She was very sweet and acknowledged our diet and recommended menu options to better fit our diet. Only Because of her hospitality do I give this Denny's a 5 star. With that said, the food was terrible. We order 4 sets of pancakes the cook failed to prepare them on time. We got our meal in sections. We were close to the kitchen I couldn't help hearing our waiter almost begging the cooks for the missing pancakes. Only for the cook to yell back continous *shut up, shut up, shut up" at our waitress. When we did get our pancakes each and every pancake was raw in the center. There was loud playing around and yell coming from the kitchen the entire time we were there. Because of the unprofessionalism this Denny's gave me the ick. I don't think I will be returning here ever again.

Ok so the waitress was super sweet and helpful the kitchen help on the other hand was VERY rude and hateful to the waitress. My husband wanted to substitute his pancakes for sausage, he made a big scene about it came out of the kitchen onto the floor saying he will not do any substitute. He was just very rude he does not need to be acting a fool in front of customers like that. What restaurant does not do substitutions on items I've never heard of that!

Stopped by last week with the family. The waitress was friendly but the cook was a whole new level of low quality. Usually when we get Dennys, our food takes 15-25 minutes tops to deliver to the table. Instead of cooking, this guy in the kitchen decides to stare at our table for no joke about 15 minutes. Finally near an hour of waiting I complained about the wait, as three other tables that came after us had received there food. When we finally did receive the meal, it was worse than usual. Though I like this spot, and am a regular customer because the wait staff is usually very nice, we will not be returning. Absolutely uncomfortable and bad experience due to one weird person pretending to be a cook in the kitchen.

Super lazy and under staff workers. Went there to pick up an uber eats order that was ready and cold for sitting for a good minute . Not once but multiple times always someone running around acting like they are busy doing something. If you ask them for the order they just ignore you and walk way . I walked in one day only 3 costumers in the whole restaurant at 12:00 am asked the African American lady for the order . The order was ready behind the counter I waited over 15-minutes asked the lady to pass me the order she completely ignored me and said wait your turn I could have easily just gotten it myself . Wait my turn for what I been waiting for over 15 min just for you too tell me wait your turn. I told her the order is ready I can see it with the name . She is like too bad I’m not gonna skip the other person that’s been sitting there for god knows how long and her order is not ready so you have to wait . Very rude disrespectful and poor work skill worker . Never go there for anything just a waste of time .

Had a horrible experience. Will not be returning. Came in and was told to wait 30 minutes before we could get a table. So we waited. Had my husband and my 1 year old with me. Finally got seated and the waiter (Diana T) didn’t even offer us a high chair my husband had to go grab it himself. Table was filthy by the way. Then she walked away didn’t even ask us for our drink order. Came back like 15 minutes later took our order and left. Food took about an HOUR to arrive to us. She was very rude and made us feel very rushed like we were burdens. Never once came and asked us how we were doing or if we needed anything. Messed up our order and never gave us syrup. I had to ask. Then when we were leaving i paid and she very rudely handed me my receipt and didn’t even lock eyes with me or say thank you have a good day. Nothing. I don’t care if you’re tired and you hate your job, we all work and get tired. That’s not my problem. I’m thinking she’s probably racist. Horrible horrible customer service. Do not come here.

Horrible, horrible, horrible! We waited about 20 mts to be seated and another 30mts for food to arrive and kicker is that there were many empty tables meaning it wasn’t full at all. My daughter’s mozzarella sticks were drained in oil, and my husband’s hashbrowns were not fully cooked. Don’t know who’s the manager, whoever it is is doing a terrible job in their staffing and overall management. This is disappointing as it is the closest walkable restaurant for many within that area.

Put it this way. I'm glad I didn't spend any money and risk dieing from food poisoning. I over heard a women talking about how disgusting the food was and even after she paid for it all and tipped the server. I knew immediately I should run away as fast as I can. Glad I saved myself the $20. This place should be shut down. 5 years ago this was the hot spot to get a late night meal.. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY TIME OR PRIDE. I WOULD JUST TAKE A NAP AND TRY CRACKER BARREL IN CLIFTON PARK instead. This place doesn't even deserve one star but I can't leave zero. I was there when Dennys burnt down smh. I swear the workers did it on purpose !!! Shame on them .

I came here with my family and was not impressed at all I've been Denny's over and over and over for the past couple of years and for some reason this experience I've had was the worst experience I have ever had.... We ordered the Classic Sampler and it was not at all what it looked like in the picture and I ordered the Salmon, with Wild Rice and Red skin potatoes and the Salmon was dry and severely over cooked, the potatoes were not red skin potatoes and we're undercooked and raw, and the wild rice were also undercooked and hard like it came out of the bag. My husband ordered the Grandslamwich with cheese and he was also undercooked and dry no flavor, like someone is cooking too fast and not cooking properly. I use to love Denny's but now I'm depressed and will not come back. GOOD BYE DENNY

The food and customer service is great at dennys but the cook is mad rude to his fellow workers and is mad loud cursing at his co workers in the public.This issue needs to be resolved or customers will feel uncomfortable in an environment like this,but overall the food is great with perfect customer service especially with the old lady,she’s such a great person.

Worse experience eating out- ever. It took 15 -20 min for waitress to get to our table to take beverage order. And another 15 min for her to deliver them. (Arrived at 10:45 am to order breakfast. Finally got served at 11:45 am). Food was served on a child- sized plate that was too small. Waitress apologized and comped our beverages for the painfully long time it took to be served.

Ice cold sausage, cold bacon. Eggs and hash browns were hot. Too long to wait for cold meat. Cold server as well. Definitely need some better qualified workers. The building was nice and clean.

Manager and cooks are terrible!!! So rude to the waitresses and customers. Would not recommend!!! Very unprofessional.. steak was VERY undercooked, so were the eggs & hashbrowns! Absolutely disgusting

Worst place I’ve ever eaten at the service was ok first off the silverware wasnt washedthere were stains all over them. the food was disgusting me and my gf stopped eating it mid bite it was so bad and not only that the cook said out loud that the burgers are disgusting and he doesn’t know why anyone eats them. also your cook shouldn’t be saying your food is gross with customers in the building let alone having customers sitting near the kitchen that can hear him. Also the staff were arguing in front of customers too. never coming back here

Hello, I’ma frequent Flyer of this particular Dennys.. but for the evening shift staff more because they are usually the nicest and the Spanish lady that cooks also.. the staff I enjoy would be Kathy and Lisa, Wendy, Diana, Jamie. I have seen a lot from here while waiting on our dinner each time visiting here. now this took me time to leave this review because of the way I felt when i was there any 2weeks ago. I seen a male boss (he had to be a boss or manager by his rude tone) treat his server the last time I was there. He was very unprofessional the way he spoke to our server and I didn’t like it.. I know it’s not my business but he was very rude, and yelling at her over a coffee and accused her of stealing a coffee for one of the tables! It was insane because he should of walked to the back and asked about it but he didn’t even ask he just accused and started speaking loud so all of us heard this. She then was speaking about it was not added yet but either way that was not appropriate behavior in front of customers from him.. he then got upset when she yelled back at him. She said she was leaving here then he told her if she leave don’t come back and she replied fine.. she even came to apologize to us and her other table for the inconvenience and left both tables with $20 out her pocket for our meals and left the building. It’s just sad that she left upset over his accusations. Then him and the other server talked bad about her still while the restaurant was hearing it. Just A word to him.. she was one the sweetest employees there and I hope she still there when I come back. Genuine good “people persons” are hard to come by. I know when me and my wife are there she always speaks to us weither she is our server or not. we enjoy her making our days. Please reach out to me anybody who reads this. Walked in...only two cars in the parking lot, Great! Haha nope! Got seated & got menus...one other booth with 3 ppl who weren't eating was filled....sat for half hour, nobody came over to get our drink order, food order .. nothing! Bathroom had no toilet paper...but they did supply napkins! We left & went to the Blue Ribbon Restaurant!! Great food, great waitress!

Horrible service in poor quality of food. The pancakes were well undercooked and the eggs instead of being sunny side up for Friday in a pan and hard to cut with a fork. Upon entering the restaurant there was only one person at the restaurant the server. We noticed we were sitting out our table for 45 minutes and we did not see a cook behind the counter. Finally it cook walked in the door put on an apron and came to the kitchen and cooked our order. But even so I still took him 20 minutes extra to get our food to us. And the restaurant was not very clean. You guys need to shut this place down it was horrible👎 and the server not even once came to us to apologize about the weight and after that she did not even talk to us until the cook walked in.

I was hoping to give my elderly mom a good meal before I left town . I thought Dennys would be a perfect way to start the day. Unfortunately my order didn’t go through and I felt the hostesses treated me poorly. I ordered the meal twice and when I got it, unfortunately it wasn’t a pretty sight to look at. I wish I could upload a picture… it was horrible .Which made this one of my worst experiences ever at a Dennys restaurant

I haven’t even gotten my food yet and I’m already considering leaving. The restaurant is nearly empty, yet the service has been unbelievably slow and unpleasant. Our waiter, who is also the manager, didn’t take our drink orders for at least 20 minutes after we sat down. We still don’t have silverware, which is especially frustrating since I ordered a hot coffee and couldn’t even stir it. After waiting about 35 minutes, we finally placed our food order, only for the manager to read nearly every order back incorrectly. When I politely clarified that I wanted my eggs over medium, I got a rude look in return. I’m not someone who typically leaves negative reviews since I understand people can have off days, but this was beyond that. The attitude, disorganization, and lack of basic service were unacceptable. You can also sense the tension among the staff, which makes it clear the poor management is affecting everyone. I truly feel bad for the employees who have to work under such a toxic atmosphere. This was, without question, one of the worst run restaurants I have ever been to. Hopefully the food is at least somewhat redeeming after such an awful experience with the service. UPDATE: My steak and eggs are undercooked (asked for medium on the steak and over medium and the eggs) and my hash browns are overcooked….at least the toast isn’t overcooked, just cold!

I am extremely disappointed with the service. I rarely write reviews, but my experience was so frustrating that I felt I had to share it. When I walked in, our host was super friendly and helped us. We got sat and our waitress Diane was extremely unprofessional. when I finally did get assistance, the person helping me was rude and dismissive. It took 30 minutes to order our drinks, it was 45 minutes to being sat we still have yet to order our food or have silverware. After an hour we have ordered our food and still have not got it. Communication was poor, and no one took responsibility for the mistakes. Overall, a frustrating and disappointing experience. I definitely won’t be returning or recommending this place to anyone.

Absolute worst meal and service I’ve ever had. The hashbrowns were not cooked at all the French toast was literally white bread not even cooked. The waitress was so terrible, did not check up on us at all, we wanted refills and never got them. On top of all that, The bathroom is absolutely disgusting. So sad honestly. I didn’t even eat my food.

We went there, wait 45 minutes to get a seat finally we sit ask for coffee wait another 30 minutes and no body came to us and even the coffee. My Family was very hungry and thirsty and no one came so we leave, I taught Denny’s was great eating there but I wouldn’t go there ever again. Services suck , my family comes from queens for Caribbean day I I take them there which I feel ashamed smh

The waitress kept calling my friend baby and it was creepy. She was rude and slow. The food was disgusting and hard. Pancakes had a rubbery bottom. Ugh. Don’t come. If you come you will regret it. The paper towel dispenser didn’t work. Why? I don’t know.

I actually love American cuisine, but when I came here to have breakfast, I waited only 20 minutes and there was not even an employee there, he did not clean the tables, the place was dirty and I gave up waiting to order. I even wished that I could have eaten earlier if I had gone to the counter and cooked myself. But I'm sorry, this is a disgraceful place. definitely don't come
