OK... It doesn't get much better than this! We arrived in Schroon Lake the day before and saw this restaurant whilst exploring the area the following morning. It looked good and we decided to dine there in the evening. We were not disappointed. It was fantastic! The atmosphere of the place and the food served was fantastic. But what made the evening for us was the attention shown us by our servers Kelly and Hilda. Thank you both for making it an evening to remember! Really, as I said to begin this review, it doesn't get much better than this!

We come up here camping for the 4th and discovered Schroon Lake and Flanagans a few years ago. It's a great vibe, the staff is so nice, the prices are amazing and all in all its just a great spot to stop in for a drink and snack/meal

One of my favorite places in Schroon Lake. All of the people who work there are amazing, but last night Kelly Cross. We had 11 people at one table. Two of us were splitting 10 people's food costs, and one was paying separately. All the other people had to pay their own bar tab. Rather than make everyone to go to the bar when they wanted a drink, she did separate checks for everyone and got everything right. She did it all with a smile and good humor. No one waited on anything. Super evening! Thanks Kelly and thanks Penny for having such a great place for us to come to!

Had a great experience at Flanagan’s! I have celiac disease and our waitress brought out another employee who was kind enough to talk me through what I could eat. I really appreciated it! I ended up getting the summer salad and really enjoyed it.

It was my husband and I first time at Flanagans Schroon Lake for July 4th my birthday! Not only was our waitress Kelly D. outstanding and attentive…when my husband asked for one of our appetizers to be prepared a certain way,Penny the owner and chef did over and beyond what we thought she would do! We had a super delicious lunch. My grilled chicken sandwich with guacamole and pesto sauce was out of this world. I ordered it with extra onion. My husband had Buffalo chicken wrap with medium heat, a bit hotter then he expected but none the less he enjoyed it. Ordered side of onion rings that were also delicious. The restaurant was nicely decorated with Adirondack rustic theme and was very clean. Service was excellent. Cost $38 with 20% tip.

Amazing food and atmosphere! Their wings and coconut shrimp are some of the best! The atmosphere is always fun and inviting!

We had a pizza, it was very good with sausage, pepperoni and pineapple. Perfect amount of sauce. Torri our waitress was very nice and attentive to our needs. Our second time there and we will definitely be back.

My family and I stopped in this evening for dinner. We haven’t been in many years. We only live 30 minutes away and look forward to frequent visits. The atmosphere and decor is tremendous. The food was great. I loved the diverse menu options. Our server, Jasmine was terrific. She was friendly, attentive, helpful and definitely knows how to provide top notch customer service. Can’t wait to return soon!

I drove from NJ to Whiteface Mountain and stopped here for dinner. Found this place great for family dinner (it was around 4pm).

The decor could use a lift but it probably gives the place its charm. Other than that the food was exceptional and surpassed our expectations. I had the Southwestern Burger and it was spot on. The patties are 6oz or 12oz (stick with the massive 6oz patties). The sweet potato fries are much better than the regular fries. Our table also shared the Nachos which were easily sharable for 4 people and also very much worth getting (I would go back just for those), but really everything was excellent including the service. Everyone else raved about the food. Perfect spot for our lake vacation.

Love the 6oz burger and corned beef sandwich. Love the coleslaw. What a great find. This is place for a nice meal.

I always stop in to have a beer and bite to eat when I'm in town. This evening I brought my family for dinner. Their mango habanero wings are just amazing. Recently, we ordered mozzarella pesto sticks and they were divine! The bartender and staff are always great and make you feel welcome, especially our waitress Tori.

Stopped on my way through this cute town when I saw this bar!! Glad I did! Great stop! Tori was amazing & attentive and entertaining…. The pizza sauce here is to die for!!!

Wow, as usual…I LOVE this place!!! They told us service might be slow because of staffing issues. We had trainee Anna and she was friendly, efficient and did a perfect job, even with my picky order(!). Service was on point. Kitchen’s at the top of their game. Food came out fast. I usually get the salmon salad with this amazing citrus ginger dressing, but was craving a burger. Cheeseburger here is fantastic. Cooked perfectly and so tasty. Can’t recommend Flanagan’s enough. Great food, service and value!

Found this great Irish pub! Great wings, French onion soup, flat break pizza and everything else. The staff is fantastic. Hilda is a great host and Taylor is a wonderful server. We have been 4 times in 2 trips to the area. Definitely the place to eat at Schroon Lake.

What a great small Irish Pub in the Heart of the A-Dak Mountains of Schroon Lake NY. Charming atmosphere, ice cold drafts and really good Pub Eats. That coupled with an awesome Server (Taylor) and you have a winner! Try the Fried Haddock dinner or the Veal Parmesan. Both were great! Add Garlic Parm wings for an app with house made Blue Cheese dressing and you'll walk away fully satisfied!

We've been a few times before. Went today for lunch. Very busy but we sat at the bar and Torri took excellent care of us. My husband loves their wings and I had the grilled chicken sandwich with guac and pesto...very yummy and great Cole slaw. Excellent beer selection as well!

Lemme preface this by saying I'm from Wisconsin; that said the pizza was awesome. We got the deluxe and it didn't disappoint. Crust was chewy & flavorful. We visit here at least once every trip out.

We stopped by on our way to a camp we recently purchased in Lake George. I’m a sucker for a good Irish Pub and this one did not disappoint. While we have never been here before, we will be definitely be making a special trip again! Food was excellent and our server Kelly chatted with us and made us feel at home. Like I said, we will definitely be back soon to see Kelly and get some of those wings!

My son proposed to his GF on the Lake and we had the party here. Wonderful atmosphere, super friendly staff, the food was excellent and Penny the owner was super nice and absolutely made sure everything was up to par. Our bartender was great making sure the drinks were coming :). We had such a great time. Thank you all at Flanagan’s. What a great time!

Great atmosphere and friendly service. The kids loved the bear and the moose on the wall. The food was good too. The kids meals came with ice cream sandwiches. The wings were good and stated gluten-free. Not 100% sure if it's cross contamination free, but my wife with Celiacs Desease hasn't had any bad stomach issues with them yet. Cost wise I'd say is on par with everyone else. 10 wings, two kids plates, 4 non-alcoholic drinks about $40

been coming here since i was a young girl when visiting our camp at schroon lake. some of the best memories shared here with family and friends! and coincidentally enough, all these years later, i married a Flanagan. such a staple of a restaurant in a small town with limited dining, for visitors and locals alike. great to stop in for a delicious lunch, dinner, beer at the bar after a long hike or boat ride, etc. always provides a cozy feel during the winter months and a cool drink during the summer! clean and the service is always great. i especially love the adirondack feel of the decor. we will continue to be back so long as we're in the area. love flanagan's pub!!

I went to Flanagan's this summer with the bar set high. I was not disappointed. I had the fish tacos which were fantastic, as was the bang bang shrimp! My friend had French onion soup and the best chicken wings which she loved. Also we had a great salad. We had amazing draft beer and an abundance of delicious fries. Had the pleasure of stopping by with my husband recently. We were on our honeymoon and he had been there before when he was working a shut down as a Millwright a few years ago. He warned me that once I ate there it was going to be an experience I won't soon forget...and he was right. The staff was awesome, the food was absolutely delicious and the vibe from the place just instantly put you at ease. My husband ordered the Southwest burger, I had the fish tacos. We also ordered the Irish Nachos..YUM!!!!We had an awesome time there ..and I LOVE the Irish Yoga shirt we bought. I have no doubt that come next year we will be stopping by again for our anniversary!

I recently visited Flanagan Pub and Grill for lunch while in Schroon Lake, and it was an experience I won’t forget. I tried the mango habanero wings, which had just the right amount of heat and flavor, and the Flanagan BBQ chicken with flatbreads. The taste was outstanding! One thing to note: I didn't realize there was bacon on the BBQ chicken until after I’d ordered. I had to remove it since I don’t eat pork, but it didn’t detract from the overall deliciousness of the dish. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was fabulous, with a welcoming vibe that made for a perfect dining experience. If you’re in the area, definitely stop by—it's a gem you shouldn’t miss!

Camping here this Columbus Day Weekend and came across this little gem…I first went in Saturday night. It was dinner time and it was pretty busy. I was seat pretty quick though. Took my drink order, gave me a menu. I ordered the 12oz. Bacon Cheeseburger and fries. Also ordered the Mozzarella sticks for my appetizer. Drink was strong, PERFECT. Mozzarella Sticks were hot and awesome. The bacon cheeseburger was phenomenal!! My server was extremely attentive and everything was so good I had to order desert. Got the Raspberry swirl cheesecake. Delicious. Couldn’t ask for a better meal, better service, or better atmosphere. I went back again Sunday evening a little earlier, ordered a fantastic drink that was from their summertime specialty drinks. For app I got the Nachos, and Teriyaki Wings for dinner. My server was Taylor, but was also helped by Hilda. Both women were amazing. Such a fantastic experience. Definitely will go back again if I’m ever in the area.

They were busy so it took about 20 minutes to get seated. Our waitress was too busy so Awesome Kelly jumped in and took care of us. We ordered drinks and placed our order. I really loved the friendly atmosphere of Flanagan's. Right in the middle of town right on the lake. Again Kelly was awesome. The food was delicious and came out pretty fast. We only had 1 issue with our burger not being cooked medium well. But Awesome Kelly jumped in and took care of the situation and got us a new burger. I highly recommend coming here and sitting down for some drinks, order some food and people watch.🙂

If you like that "hometown feel" and enjoy going to where the locals go; this is the place to be! Food is good, decent selection and friendly staff. Prices are reasonable and portions are good! They're known for their Wings! (They were out of them when we went, we'll have to go back) Great Pub & Restaurant for the whole family

This is a pretty cool place. Loved the vibe. We ate here while on vacation for Christmas week. The wings were very good (get blue and ranch.) The burgers were good as were all of our meals, except the cauliflower pizza, which had too much cheese and as a result was soggy. Our server was very nice, helpful and attentive. My Guinness poor was okay. Huge pet peeve to not get my Guinness in a Guinness glass, but that is just me. But the beer was fresh and cold and we will return.

06/03/2024- lost 2 stars for not wanting to Serve us takeout. Kitchen is too backed up they said. Must be nice to have so much business to turn some away. Next time I’ll just go somewhere else first! 5/14/23- ate here again last night, we did take out pizza. Pepperoni and Buffalo chicken. Both were excellent and the buffalo chicken was the best we’ve ever had!

When I arrived I noted that the dining room was quite full. We were told there was a wait for a table, which is fine. We asked if there was service at the bar and the host said yes, so my friend and I took seats there instead as we were on a schedule. Bartender was pleasant. We order drinks and ask for menus. It's there that she tells us that we can't have menus until the waiting list for tables clears up. It's kitchen policy, she explains. We waited for an hour and couldn't even order some fries in the meantime. Once we got menus we were told to hurry and order quickly because the bartender didn't know if the kitchen may close up to us again. Place our order. Burgers and fries. The burger was pretty good. The fries were nothing special. In all, not a bad place, just that our first experience there wasn't great.

Place has great burgers and buffalo chicken wraps. They run out of draft beers often and they like to stop answering phones, making it difficult to order take out. Many times I've sat at bar and listened to it ring. The staff seem to be overwhelmed with lack of staff or maybe training at times to handle the volume.

We visited the area of Lake Schroon for a week. During that week we learned that restaurants piggybacked off each other in terms of days being closed. I say that to state that we ate here twice due to closures. The first night the restaurant was fairly empty, our wait staff was kind and the food was very good. However, the second night was a different story. The next night was much busier than the first, several tables with larger parties were seated. It was obvious the older waitstaff on duty were salty and frustrated at the busy atmosphere. The food came out fairly quick but my order was wrong and my husbands potato skins had bacon on a quarter of one of his potatoes (very different quality from the night before). They did fix our orders after showing them our meals. All in all the meal wasn’t bad but the poor attitude of the two older lady waitstaff was very apparent to the point that the next table over from us was discussing it as well.

Ordered a Reuben one slice of meat on it husband ordered burger was a frozen patty. Never had unrated food there disappointing. And the fruit flies were everywhere at the bar 😕

I had a seasonal salad and taco soup. Both were a 10/10. Hubby had the broiled Haddock and it was overcooked. Our waitress at the bar was so nice. Our issue was that we waited an HOUR for our food. They were short staffed and we understand BUT that should be conveyed to customers when seated. 3 people around us ordered after us and all 3 got their salads 15 minutes before I got mine. I would go again but would definitely inquire and ask if only 1 cook is on duty. If so, I would go elsewhere. Our waitress kept apologizing but it really wasn't her fault. I just feel they should limit the customers when short staffed or tell people they will wait an hour.

Terrible bar tender. Rude, disrespectful, and clearly incompetent. Unsure about what NYS Liquor laws are and makes them up as she pleases and then tells patrons only one drink and they can leave. We all turned our drinks away and left, can’t believe they would let someone so disrespectful and unprofessional represent their establishment. I’d give it 0 stars if I could. But outside of this one brunette bartender, I’ve never had issues here. Fire her and I’ll come back!

Attempted to dine here the night of the Garrow movie screening at the Strand theatre. Staff greeted us rudely, we asked if we could eat at the bar, and were told “I guess, but it’s gonna be a while.” We left and ate at the Timberwolf, where food drinks and service were great. Attempted to stop into Flanagan’s for a drink after the movie and staff was rude once again. Given dirty looks walking in, bartender appeared to be serving others as we walked in but told us they were closed, that last call had already happened (despite everyone having full drinks, even multiple drinks). Had a great experience in Schroon Lake otherwise at the Timberwolf, Strand Theatre, Pitkins for breakfast, the Maple Leaf Motel, and even the Stewart’s in town; not sure what the problem is at Flanagan’s but won’t be returning.

We came in for a drink and some food, place wasn’t busy. I ordered a glass of wine, but was told I would have to buy a bottle ( that was fine) we had two friends join us so we moved down to the end of the bar where the bartender ignored us completely for the rest of the night. My husband had to get up three times to walk down to the other side of the bar to order drinks ( there was probably only eight other people at the bar) when my husband ordered his drink, he told her whisky neat no ice, she served him whiskey with ice (twice). We then finally ordered food, when it came out it was sub-par. My husband asked for mayonnaise when he ordered but got none. There were no salt and pepper shakers at our end, she was ignoring us, so he got back up walked to the other end of the bar grabbed some and brought them back. The woman who brought us our food, she was either the owner or manager saw him do this and walked over to him and put some new S&P in front of of us, took the ones he grabbed and said “now I have to go put these back” I could go on and on. Needless to say we will not be back, service by the bartender and the manager was terrible and rude at times, and the food was not good.

I honestly don't even know where to begin. My husband and I were visiting here for a few days. Pub had a variety of gluten-free options on the menu listed. Also said on every page to inform the server if you had an allergy and they would handle it. The first thing we asked was if they have a separate fryer they said no but they listed their wings and coconut shrimp as gluten free. FALSE. IT'S NOT GLUTEN FREE IF IT'S IN THE SAME FRYER!!! We then tried to get clarification from the server who initially brushed us off and ignored us and kept asking for a drink order..When we kept asking questions she just running back of the kitchen and the owner giving us random answers that made no sense. We then we just finally asked to talk to the owner who was lovely and came over to tell us that no, they don't have a separate fryer but they have all these other gluten-free options. I said how can you call the wings and shrimp gluten free if they're in the same oil?. She then said well when we have time we'll do them separately but not when we we are busy. So I said why don't you put that on the menu???? I kindly told her it should be listed as gluten-friendly instead of gluten-free all over the menu. Very deceiving and actually unethical. Unreal. I then got coconut shrimp which was overcooked and mediocre. My husband is the one with the allergy. He was able to get ribs and potato skins. The salad I ordered had a vinaigrette that had an aftertaste and there was hardly any cheese or walnuts on it...the part I was actually looking forward to the most. But here's the kicker. I ordered grilled chicken on the salad to get an extra protein and it never came. I said oh I ordered this with chicken and she said oh, The kitchen messed up. I'll go back and have them make you a piece of chicken right away. 45 minutes later no chicken. The waitress literally disappeared. When she finally came back I said where's my chicken? She said oh. I took it off the bill for you because they won't make it. WTH?! She said "oh everything is messed up in the kitchen tonight and so I saw it come out without the chicken and asked him to make your chicken and they said no" . So I just took the $4 off the bill. I said so. I guess I can't have chicken?! She starts randomly apologizing and then takes the bill thing at the table with the handheld and expects me to do the tip right in front of her while she's staring at me. Completely uncomfortable. It was the most awkward, bizarre, awful experience I've ever had at a restaurant. They need to get it together. Food allergies are very serious for a lot of people and you can't write things that are blatently incorrect on the menu when it comes to food allergies that could be a legal issue. I left hungry dumbfounded and disappointed.

When we took a moment to decide on our drinks, the waitress responded with a condescending, “You don’t know what you want to drink?”—setting the tone for what only became a more uncomfortable and unpleasant interaction. In hindsight, we should have left immediately. We certainly won’t be returning, and I would not recommend this place to others seeking a welcoming atmosphere or basic courtesy.

I don’t normally leave reviews, I come here all the time to schroon but beware this is the worst place eat, figured I’d give it one last chance with getting take out 3/1/25 and spent over 50$ on a pizza, calamari, and some fried pickles and they gave us a burnt pizza that was absolutely horrid, and a super small portion of disgusting calamari. Save yourself the stomachache and go to sticks and stones up the road.. this place blows. Thanks for the disappointment and loss of 50 something dollars.
