The Algonquin Restaurant is highly praised for its beautiful lake views and attentive service, especially from staff like Sara Jane. Customers rave about the Hawaiian prawn dish, short rib gnocchi, and Oscar style Filet Mignon. Some find the prices a bit high and portions small.

Beautiful view of the lake from this restaurant. We came here for a late lunch on a weekend and were seated right away near the window. The place seems a little dated inside with the plastic tablecloths and our table was a bit wobbly. It was dark inside too. Service was good and our waitress was very attentive. She checked on us often and seemed very nice. We ordered burgers and they were both very juicy and cooked perfectly. Love the crunchy French fries too.
A good place for meal when visiting George Lake. Good scenery views while enjoying your meal. For those who like rice and prawn the Hawaiian prawn dish is highly recommended; it’s really good with fragrance rice. Wing items so so only. I would have given a 5 rating for food if not for this.
Although I'm not technically a local, my husband and I do a yearly visit to Lake George and we always find a way to get to the Algonquin. We love that you can pull up with your boat and the polite young people help you tie off your boat. Getting a table can sometimes be challenging during the busy time so a reservation is recommended. They have both indoor and outdoor seating both overlooking the lake. It's a beautiful scenery and the food is excellent as well. If you're looking for a place to eat and you happen to be in the area I would highly recommend the Algonquin.
Very good food. We had two different salmon dishes that were very tasty. The chowder was good, just a little peppery for our taste. Excellent service, very friendly. They accommodated our young children as well with canyons and coloring sheets. Would definitely recommend for a nice night out or a family meal.
Was recommended to visit the Algonquin up in Bolton while we were staying in Lake George and we were glad we did. Beautiful views of the lake and mountains that were just breathtaking and so calming. Overall they told us 30 minute wait for a table of 4 which was more like 20 but we grabbed and drink at the bar and snapped some beautiful pictures on the dock and we sat in no time. The food and service was excellent. Must try their Fried Calamari. Whatever sauce they used for dipping was incredible. I also enjoyed the sirloin steak tips. Overall the price was reasonable for a family of 4 and would definitely recommend and will definitely be returning again.
Went here recently while visiting lake George. We arrived fairly early around 545 and were sat right away as a table of 2. The wait staff were very attentive and the food was amazing. We got the pot stickers, short rib gnocchi and broiled scallops. 10/10 on all. The view was beautiful. Parking can be difficult but that’s not unusual for the area. Highly recommend this restaurant and look forward to coming back to try new dishes.
Calm and lakeside atmosphere with great food and service. The bathrooms are clean and the seating area is nice. Heavily staffed and the manager is personable. They even bring doggie dishes out for dogs to drink from. I got the steakhouse burger and the flavor was amazing. Hawaiian bowl was great too. Worth stopping at and returning to.
Had a great family dinner. I've been going around trying out different fish and chips in in the area. This one was good. What really stood out to me though was the amazing service from Sara Jane, and the inspired drink and dessert menus. Sara Jane made recommendations that were spot on.... Perhaps I should have asked about the entree, but I was on a mission. Our table tried most of the specialty drinks and they were all well done and off a variety to please every palate! Likewise with the desserts! We had the steamers and ahi skiffs as appetizers and both were fantastic! (I did waste the jus from the strangers due to a lack of bread, and my wife saying I couldn't slurp from the bowl.) Delicious! The other fantastic things here are the fantastic view of this beautiful cove and surrounding area, and the show put on by the week-enders who pay bumper boats on their attempt to dock. I could watch floating hot tubs filled with arguing couples bump into each other for hours! There were helpers, pilots, and line tenders so we didn't see anything exceptionally....embarrassing.
We specifically dined at Top Side Grill, the indoor, quiet part of the venue with a lovely view. From oat bread and wine (the Albardino was delicious), through every main course, the food was carefully prepared, carefully presented, and delicious. The prices are higher than their other menus, but I think they were average for the dishes offered. Highly recommended!
Nice waterfront restaurant! The menu items are a bit expensive, but you can’t beat that view. The food is also spectacular that we went twice; once at lunch and once at dinner. It is right next to Chic’s Marina, so it can be a bit busy during certain times. I would try to get there a bit early on weekends cause it can be a pretty long wait. For lunch, we got the arancini and New England clam chowder to start and both are delicious. I’d recommend both of those if you get the chance. We got a steakhouse burger and fish point for entrees. The burger is very delicious, but can be heavy. The fish point was excellent, soft, and light for lunch. For dinner, we got the steak tips and chicken parmigiana. All was fantastic and piping hot! Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the Lake George area (mostly Bolton Landing).
The good: The view is awesome. Enjoy watching the boat valets "park" the boats. The food was great. Good music on the outdoor speakers (if you like classic rock) The bad: If you found this online, like l did, expect the prices to be $8 to $12 HIGHER than what you're told. I showed the waitress what my phone said compared to the menu and was told "maybe those are old prices, we go by the menu".
This family-owned restaurant is nestled in a scenic spot by Lake George. It’s a popular lunch spot for boaters, and the views are stunning—bright autumn sunshine, clear waters, and fluffy white clouds create a picturesque setting. It's a lovely place to relax and unwind. The food was decent overall. The calamari stood out with its unique thin strips and pepper seasoning. However, I was less impressed with the highly recommended lobster roll; the lobster was served a bit too cold for my taste.
High quality and good value food. I highly recommend the crab cake for appetizer, we thought it was delicious. We tried the scallops and the Greek shrimp. You cannot go wrong with the Greek shrimp, we loved it. The broiled sea scallops were good, not amazing. They have a beautiful view of the lake, if you’re lucky you’ll see the full moon shining on the lake.
So this is an excellent restaurant to visit if you’re in Bolton Landing or want to escape to a less crowded restaurant in the town of Lake George. There’s lots of indoor and outdoor dining. My fish dish was excellent and I would highly recommend it. A fluffy fish lightly egg battered. French fries were also excellent and nice and crisp. My brother-in-law loved his fish tacos as well. I’m giving it 4 stars because my wife and her cousin found their shrimp dish a bit lacking. As for service and drinks also very good. Definitely order the Bloodymary with shrimp!!!
Really nice option to drive your boat up to the dock and park to be able to eat. The dock attendees were very helpful and nice. The Mahi Mahi was delicious, however the portion was a little small and weak on the vegetables. The calamari was terrible. Probably one of the worst I’ve ever had. It was probably frozen, fried earlier in the day then flash fried before being served. It was literally horrible. The waitstaff was pretty rude, every time we asked for something it seemed like it was a chore even though we were a party of 15 and they knew the tip would be nice since we were having a few drinks. The kids chicken finger and fries were literally 5 small pieces of popcorn chicken and a dozen individual fries. Fish and chips were delicious and so was the burger. The men’s bathroom reminded me of my frat house. The door had a hole on it on the interior, the toilet was open to the two urinals so when someone was taking a dump you can see them. It was literally open to the bar. This has to be against some health code and a violation. There are def not enough toilet facilities for the size crowd they can handle. Someone should look into that. Overall, great views but that’s about it. Take your hard earned money elsewhere.
