Best place to eat, friendly good service, kind, food is wonderful and it’s a nice family environment too .
Best Pizza !! My new favorite..love the owner great personality and customer service skills. Great pizza and subs..
I've never been disappointed with Gio's! Seriously, it's so good! I have a mild obsession with their pasta salad!
We have ordered from here for a decade. The pizza is fantastic and consistently delicious. It is the best in Scotia-Glenville and holds its own with any pie anywhere. Importantly the same people operating this place ten years ago are there now. That says something! The Italian bread, calzones, empanadas and subs are also top notch here. This business takes quality, customer-kindness and efficiency very seriously. I’d give more stars if google would let me.
I love their Pizza and wings etc. Great Food and good atmosphere too.
A cornerstone of cuisine in Scotia has always been pizza. Many pizzerias are competing for the same customer base and all of them need to be fantastic to make it in the area. Location is good on the North end of the village. The staff has always been polite even when busy, and the pizza at this location is fantastic, weather it's full ordered pie, or grab and go slices.
I just got a turkey sub was out of this word. Been craving this since I got cancer, thank you
Food is very good, even when busy. The employees do the best they can to get your food out to you as quickly as possible
Our favorite pizza, salads, and subs locally. Everything is always fresh and delicious and service is top notch!
It’s been a while since I’ve been there but I think they sell pizza
The absolute best place for pizza in scotia glenville. Their plain cheese pizza is just so good!!! I always stop here when I want a slice! Been going here for over a couple years now and it’s always been delicious. Have been good with takeout as well.
Fresh delicious pizza, tasty salad, and the best buttery garlicy soft knots we've had in a long time...they disappeared quickly!

I stop here often on my way home from work. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The pizza slices are always amazing. The spicy chicken empanada is to die for. The previous owners were not very nice. Seems like it is under new management. Very delicious.
Pizza was excellent! The dude at the counter was super friendly and welcoming. Wings were crispy as ordered! Definitely will return
My favorite place to get subs. They're often recommended more for their pizza (which is amazing) but I'm more in love with their subs. This is the only place that I can get an amazing roast beef sub! I've been going here since I was in Middle School, 10/10 most definitely recommend going here for Lunch or Dinner depending on the mood. They also have delicious cookies!
Stop in here for a quick bite or a to go order. Either way you won't be disappointed. Try getting their chicken tenders dipped in wing sauce. Yum! Or their antipasto with Italian dressing. Delicious! Their garlic knots are always a hit as well. Good selection of pizza topics and they always have slices for the lunch time rush. Parking can be somewhat tricky when busy during lunch hours but it moves pretty quick.
Had a great lunch at Giovanni's a few weeks ago. Staff was very anxious to serve you and meet special requests. The sandwiches we had were very good and not that expensive. We didn't get the pizza but it looks very good...fresh ingredients and lots of variety. I think it's a great find in both a residential & commercial area in Scotia! Will go back to try the pizza next time I'm in the Scotia area.

Grabbed 2 slices and an order of garlic knots on lunch break. All in all pretty good, crispy golden brown pizza, definitely could add some more pepperoni for the price you pay. And an 8$ minimum on debit card orders is kind of a burden.
Some say its the best pizza around, I disagree but its definitely good. This was a staple while in high school, since its right across the street. Its not cheap though, not sure why its so expensive.
Pizza's are very good. We also enjoy the subs. Counter person was friendly and attentive. The atmosphere/decor is very bland but it is not a restaurant. Parking is good as well. Will be back.
Mediocre pizza. Nothing fan nothing bad. Just a decent quick slice to go. Decent parking in and out. Nice staff. I'd get a slice again.
I can go in buy 2 slices and a root beer for say, $8.50 in round numbers. Which is exactly what I’m looking for. It’s not fancy or anything and I’m not gonna say it isn’t pretty much the same pizzeria that you’ll find anywhere else upstate/capital region. But they do what pizzerias do good. Put cheap pizza in your mouth with oregano and garlic!

Nothing great but not bad. Sub was dry. Seemed like they didn't put Italian dressing on and just anthin layer of mayo. Not very friendly counter staff.
Decent pizza place. Always went for the buffalo chicken. Also sells bread that is actually really good.
Pros: Sub was very tasty, empenadas on the menu was pretty cool, gentleman behind counter was very friendly. Cons: not much really, the deli meats that were used to make my sandwich seemed a little cheap, but they tasted fine. Whole story: stopped here for lunch. Ordered a Italian mix sub with extra oil and vinegar/dressing. Portions were good, small sub was plenty. Meats in the sandwich were kind of cheap but it tasted fine so I didn't mind much. The people behind the counter seemed to be of Hispanic desent which was cool because they had empenadas on the menu in traditional style and some with kind of like a pizzeria twist(buffalo chicken, pepperoni etc). I tried one of the traditional ones(spicy beef) and it was good. I wasn't blown away by the sub but the staff was friendly and the irregular menu was cool, I'd stop again.
Good food, bit pricey, $40 and change for three subs and fried mushrooms?! Could see if the servings were a bit larger, but two ,(maybe 8inch "foot long") chix parm subs and one buffalo chix sub, and an order of MAYBE 12 fried mushy's!? 40 dollars? Idk, hard to justify. Food WAS good though sparse...
Gotten orders completely wrong...food and service isn't what it use to be...
I would leave them 5 stars because they are one of the few places that make a good supreme pizza. But $4.00 per topping is really pricey and by the time you build a supreme pizza. Your almost paying the price of another pizza. It'd be nice if every 5th pizza it was free unlimited topping to help off set this cost. Or buy a pizza next time topping half cost coupon. And make customers want to go there instead of choosing another pizza place to save on their wallet. :(

It's been a while since I had eaten here, and tonight's experience guaranteed that I won't be back. I showed the kids the online menu and told them to pick something. They picked a meat lovers stromboli listed at $16. When I ordered it, the girl said $20 on the phone, but I thought it was just a mistake and I would work it out when I got there. When we got there I asked why it was that much and showed her their website where it says $16 she said that's too bad, and I can cancel my order and leave it if I wanted to. Really?!? That's the response to being shown your advertised menu prices are different from what you're charging?!? If I wasn't on the way somewhere with 2 hungry kids I definitely would have left it. We also got 2 empinadas. Big mistake they we're greasy and flavorless. This review gained a star because the stromboli actually was pretty good, but definitely not worth the $28 that I paid. If you're looking for a pizza place in Scotia, you have 4 other options within a mile all of which are more deserving of your money.
Subs have gotten pretty poor. My wife orders all toppings and literally gets double the meat compared to my plain sub. Same price and huge difference in quality. Supported them for years but now we're done. Sad I've lived in the area for 30 years and the quality goes down while the price rises.
The buffalo chicken sandwich was literally sweet(like devoid of spice)……idk how that’s possible. I’m too far down the road to go back which totally sucks. Garlic parm wings were great tho

Ordered here a couple days ago, pizza was good. Got the eggplant parm dinner and it was a train wreck. Eggplant was bitter and the mozzarella was barely cooked. It came with ziti, I would say over a half pound and it came with maybe a 1/4 cup of sauce and that too was bitter tasting. Threw the whole meal in the trash.

Terrible customer service. Constantly treated like a burden not a customer. Also never has any slices after 6pm and god forbid of you wanna place an order 30 minutes before they close! When you say your open till 9 that means you serve untill then!!!! Lost a customer for life.
Burnt calzone on the bottom and cold inside WTH never again and cost my $15.50
Ordered some wings and they smelled like old septic cover. Called the FDA to report this culinary fallacy. Shame on you!!
Pizza was good however the subs are nothing like the Connecticut grinder's. Worst meatball sub I have ever had.
Poor customer service... don't ask you if you want to be put on hold. On hold over 15 minutes and disconnected. Called back, again put on hold without asking. I stated my disappointment...got a sorry Hun. I won't be back!
Forgot the meat on my sub ....I drive all the way the way back there for a new one.... The cashier gives me an attitude and asked me to ask nicely for a new one twice.... which was met with expletives on my end as I was already annoyed to which I was told ,"it's just a sub"......well you are a restaurant the food pays the bills......straight up clown will never come here again
Terrible customer service, way overpriced food if you want to call it that since I've had better pizza from Dominos. $ $32 for a large pie and a dozen wings that we're both undercooked . are you kidding me? And then they charge a dollar for celery and $0.75 for blue cheese dressing which doesn't automatically come with the wings. Then you call to complain and the manager completely blows you off. A complete waste of money.. however if you're looking for aggravation and crappy food I suggest this is the place to go but you better bring your big wallet
This is the first online review I've ever written. I ordered wings, fried mushrooms and garlic bread. Absolutely disgusting. The wings that were suppose to be "medium" we're in a pasty spicy sauce. The bread I could have cut in half and dumped pepper on and seasoning on. Disappointed and will never order from there again and hope others don't experience this disgusting food as well
Worst place in MANY different ways. I'd give it less than 1 star if I could. TWO HOURS to get a delivery that's a literal 5 Minute drive away, and the pizza was terrible. after an hr and a half I called and the ditzy girl blamed the delivery Guy, the delivery boy (who looked high and was very awkward) blamed the counter girl. it would have been longer than 2 hours if I didn't call and would you believe they still charged me $20 for a cold and tasteless two hour pizza. ANY other place will be better than here, I hope you don't make the same mistake.
Went to Giovanni's Pizza in Malta today. Ordered a large pepperoni, mushroom, and sausage pizza. I was charged $19.92. Kind of expensive I thought, but it would be ok it the pizza was good. BUT IT WASN'T. The bottom of the pizza was burnt in several places.. There was ample pepperoni, but only half a hand full of mushrooms and sausage on the entire pizza. For $20 you would think that they wouldn't skimp. Only one thing I dislike worse than burned pizza is feeling like I was ripped off.
Never ran into a pizza spot who doesn’t deliver except for this place. **updated I ordered with them total being over $60 and they didn’t even get the pizza right they said pick up only when I I went to pick up the right pizza it was low quality and if anything this should be a warning because for the past three days I’ve been food sick take your chance the only thing I have to say is be safe because I’ve been going threw issues since eating their food
Tried to place a large order over the phone, the guy was extremely rude when we asked if we could do a different sauce on the chicken pizza (due to an allergy to red sauce) and said that it couldn't be done.
personally i have my favorites from here i grew up going to the high school across from it , but it’s not the same since the fire and the owners . calling them is extremely hard sometimes you have to be consistent but who wants to have to do that for some food? i’ve personally seen them ignore the phone or answer and just put it down . the hours are always incorrect online nothing is put together well with things online . the perosn up front to me typically seems uninterested in there job and looks annoyed with every customer it really could have so much potential
Called to place an order for wings. The guy read my order back to me. Was told 35 minutes. I arrive, and the guy acts like the order was never placed. Says they must still be cooking (you can see back into the kitchen from the front counter) and he’s dropping wings in the fryer. I went to subway down the road, they made my sub, went back to pick up my wings anddddd they still were not ready. Then proceeded to charge me full price (this is now an hour and 15 minutes after the order was placed) which is $18 for 10 undercooked, definitely not crispy like I ordered, wings. It’s a bummer to write this, as a business owner I understand mistakes happen, but how you respond to that mistake can totally save face. Poor response on their part. I do not believe they are the same owners, just piggy backing the name.
I'm not one to complain, but this place was a nightmare to deal with. In short: They at best overcharged me, and at worst scammed me. Listen to the other recent reviews and avoid this place. I called and ordered carry out asking for "2 large pizzas, one with meatball and ricotta, one chicken bacon ranch". A large pie in my mind is 16 inches. Upon picking it up I noticed the price was $56 which was noticeably higher than the ~$40 I expected to pay. Upon further discussion I may have mistakenly ordered the 18 inch size instead. However. using the numbers from their site, an 18" 2 topping is $20.00 and a specialty is $21.75. Which would make the order $45.09 after tax. I called so there would be no fee or prior tip. If I had read the prior reviews about similar experiences I would have walked out, but I paid $29 for the meatball pie, at least $8 more than it should be after doing the math. Do not recommend and will not try again.
I remember when Giovanni's opened a few years after I bought my house up the road in Glenville. I was so happy to have a place literally ON THE WAY home from work! Sadly, the pizza was TERRIBLE. The worst. I mean, the box was probably better than the actual pizza crust. I have faithfully tried Giovanni's every few years ever since then, and it hasn't gotten any better. Last time I tried it was pre-pandemic and it was just as dreadful as I first remembered it to be. I honestly have no idea how they have stayed in business over the years since there are so many REALLY GREAT pizza places within just a mile or two. The only reason I'm writing this review is that my husband recently made the mistake of stopping for a slice on the way home from running errands. He took one bite and tossed the rest in the trash.. Save yourself, eat elsewhere.
I got slices that were on display, they were ok. Crust thin and crispy which I liked, but flavor of the pizza was nothing to brag about. No menus inside the pizza shop, not even behind the counter on display on the wall. So you just walk in to pies on display and someone standing behind the register. I got a chicken bacon ranch slice and a cheese slice, grabbed a can of soda and she said the can does not come with the slices, the can of soda would be an additional charge. I've never in my life been to a pizza shop where you get 2 slices of pizza and a can of soda doesn't come with it, what a joke. Empty restaurant, no menus, no drinks come with food, bland taste, and mediocre service. I won't be back. $7 for the 2 slices with NO drink.
Was told the food would be ready in 45 min, showed up food was not ready. Person working the register went in the back to make my sub. Noticed he wasn’t wearing gloves and didn’t wash his hands before starting. I asked him why he wasn’t wearing gloves, he replies with “I don’t know what to tell you man” rather than do you want me to remake it or even sorry. Pizza and wings were cold when we got home due to the time that they sat.
