I love this diner. They actually have champagne. They also have the best tuna melt that I've had in a long time. My server was so sweet. It was a pleasure talking to her.
This is a great family owned diner, been around forever. They also offer entertainment with Elvis, and other community activities. Excellent wait staff. And warm and friendly. Classic rock music. Great foodm
Lovely Dinner service on point. Not once did I have to look for a waiter. Homestyle Cooking plenty of food on the plate very clean establishment definitely will be back.
Staff is extremely friendly. Menu has many options and food was awesome. Prices were spot on. Restaurant was also very clean. Couldn't ask for a better breakfast place.
Our waitress was so friendly and loving, she ended up sitting down with us and talking for a few minutes! I love the hospitality. Food was amazing! Will be returning.
Food always good but please clean your restaurant. I can't sit and look around at the cob webs, dust and dirty floor . Hope the kitchen is cleaner.
Love the decor. Love the service and the food always tastes great and fast to come out! I wish I was able to get a job there. The owners seem amazing!
Awesome decorating, awesome service, awesome prices and the owner is such a sweetheart! He actually takes the time to get to know his customers and makes sure everybody leaves the diner 1000% satisfied! Way to go Scotia Diner!
Stopped in for quick lunch. Had very friendly, polite & fast service. Menu was very extensive. Had a daily special. Included delicious & I believe home-made soup, 6oz burger (cooked perfectly as ordered) French fries, cole slaw & pickle slices for $8.99! Great!
5 star food at 3 star pricing. Definitely worth the visit if you haven't been here before. The decorations add a nice touch to the dining experience; taking you back to the time period of Elvis Presley and such.
My husband and myself went for breakfast. I had the daily special, which was Southern French toast. It had peaches, pecans, and little whipped cream dolups. I also ordered bacon on the side. It was sooooo good. Unbelievably good. My husband had a cheese omelet, rye toast, sausage, and hashbrowns. He said the coffee was delicious, and his breakfast was very, very good. WE WILL BE BACK!!! It was so good. I'm not a breakfast food person, but everything was cooked to perfection, and the prices were incredible too. 2 people- the works, all for under $24. Wow.
My boyfriend and I had a delicious breakfast at the Scotia Diner. We were so pleased with the service and the owners were so nice they even gave us a ride to my daughters house being my boyfriends truck broke down. I would highly recommend this Diner.
Have eaten here for awhile. The food is always good. The waitress is so friendly and the owner. Use to eat at at the old place and it is even better now. I recommend this diner to everyone. It is real food not boxed or can.
We went to the diner for breakfast. We had never been there before, and were happy with our experience. The food was prepared well, and was tasty with nice presentation. The server was very pleasant, and stopped by several times to make sure we were happy. We'll be back!
Number spot to get breakfast/ brunch/ lunch on Saturday mornings. My husband and I have been going here because they serve sourdough bread for toast. In becoming indifferent as I put butter in everything. I would love to ask for the home fries to be cooked in no butter. Good place though. Sit we're you want type of place.
I love this place so much they were so sweet to my little ones who are a little loud and hard to handle at times but they were understanding and kind the waitress brought my kids coloring books and crayons to keep them occupied. My 3 yr old son loves music, guitar's and elvis so he was so excited about being there. We are coming back tonight for my husbands birthday dinner. Thank you so much
The best diner I have been to, I heavily recommend it if you are in the area. Great food , service, atmosphere, and options for allergies. I was able to choose from many gluten free options.
My husband and I had breakfast at Scotia Diner this weekend. They recently moved to a new and better location down the street. The place is beautiful!!! The decor of the diner is 1950's theme. The food was excellent and plentiful. Best of all, the price was right. We really enjoyed our meals and the waitress Nicole was gracious. We got to speak with the owner Anita and she shared wonderful stories of Scotia Diner. Thank you Anita and family for staying in Scotia, New York.
Gluten-free pancakes! Just what I wanted but didn't dream I'd find! They were great and the coffee was good diner coffee and it was a great stop to start our drive with full tummies!
I've been to every breakfast spot in the 518, and this place has literally the BEST breakfast! Never a bad meal, fast service, and the best homemade home fries I have ever had!
The food here is THE BEST. I think the owner is the cook and I absolutely have loved every meal I've even gotten from this place and I've been going here solo, with kids and with whole the whole family for 17 years, I've never been disappointed once.
Excellent food, service and atmosphere for a small town diner. The owners are awesome! And they not only have gluten free selections, they totally understand cross contamination!! Having Celiac Disease, this little gem is a very safe place for me to eat at without worry and 2nd guessing! Thank you!! 🤗
Delicious food with fresh ingredients, excellent friendly efficient service with the manager also checking in to see if we needed anything, and our waiter was warm and friendly. They serve breakfast all day so I had their spinach and feta cheese omelet and chocolate mousse for dessert--both yummy! We'd go back in a hesrtbeat!
Love this place! The shredded hash browns are the best I’ve ever had, no where else compares! The waitresses are very friendly and even remember my order and ask about my family and school.
I always have a good meal here. Portions are pretty big. Sausage gravy is very good. They'll cook your burger as you like. Waiters are always pleasant. Service is excellent and, I think the prices are reasonable.
Edit 2024: I'm not changing the stars because they applied when I wrote the review. That said, I've been there this year and something has gone wrong. It was slow and unpleasant. Not the place it was and I'm not inclined to return. Sad that it has gone downhill. Great local diner! I'm an early bird so I'd be there for breakfast a lot more often if they opened early, but I understand mornings aren't for everyone 😉
There happened to be an incident last week that I saw a review about the Scotia Diner that was completely inaccurate inappropriate and downright blatantly ignorant. This person was not part of the incident at hand and sat many feet away from the actual problem that occurred to hear the precursor to what happened. Of course people always hear and see the event after it has already been in progress and pickup at the height of it because the human psyche looks for confrontation to flee or fight to protect your own self Well this is the correct rendition…… the diner was at capacity and the staff was working to clear tables while still providing great service. The owner …the man in question… was also pitching in to help wait tables clear tables and deliver food… how many other places do you see this ever? Well the elder man in question took a table prior to it being cleaned and complained it was taking to long as the party was in a hurry!!! Why would you go to a packed diner to eat when you are in a hurry? They sit down take their time ordering them complain food isn’t coming fast enough. The elder man stated to the owner “I should punch you in the face” where was this reported in her review? The owner did state in a gruff voice that they could leave, I believe that I would have been much more than gruff… it was handled appropriately despite the actions of the customer. We will continue to return knowing this environment is a home type with amazing food and hospitality beyond compare. In this day and age when things are uncertain you can count on quality food at a reasonable price with staff that truly want you to enjoy your meal. For those who want to believe nonsense maybe McDonald’s or Burger King would better suit your tastes…. Just sayin
Solid diner experience; simple and delicious. I got The Cindy for breakfast and I couldn't finish everything. The pancakes were huge! I also really liked that they still had a counter, being a single diner it's really nice to have that option. The staff were just what you'd expect from a diner: friendly with a "hon" and "darling" for everyone, but also an efficiency that comes with a no-frills establishment plus frequent coffee top offs.
Great, fast service. Seated in 30 seconds flat. My server was happy to see me, and I had my drink in no time at all. Ordered breakfast, which they serve all day, and was happily chowing down on some tasty sausage links, home fries, and two eggs with rye bread. Everything was excellent, although the sunny side eggs were a little more runny than I would cook for myself. They have free WiFi, but only for an hour as a guest. Nice ambiance, well lit, easy to get to and plenty of parking. Will be back.
We had a great experience , our food was amazing what I wanted was not on the menu but our server said she can make it still , beyond my expectation and wait time wasn’t bad at all because everything was fresh and delicious wish I had photos we devour our food!
Todays Omelette was so good I had to write a review. The food is always good but today you guys outdid yourselves bravo! I've been to many diners in the area and this place has the best Omelettes by far. So glad I work across the street from this place just wish they were open a little later. Make sure you support places like this before they're gone!
The Scotia Diner, in Scotia, NY, is the quintessential small-town diner. The menu encompasses pretty much anything you'd expect from a diner, and I am happy to say that Scotia Diner does a great job! I ate there twice last week, and both times were great. I had a mushroom Swiss burger, MR, with steak fries and coleslaw. Delicious! And the next day, a fish sandwich with steak fries and potato salad. The fish was so large that I took half home. And both salads were creamy and tasty. The service and food delivery were excellent as well. The Diner is 50's themed and our server was on roller skates. Good exercise and good food-enjoy!!
Had eggs and ham on a roll and pancakes and coffee. All very good. Waitresses were a little tired but very nice. Atmosphere was old memorabilia... All fine. Only negative was bathrooms are dirty.
I rated all 5s as a diner. What anyone could reasonably expect from a local they do well. Good eats, reasonably priced, attentive service and a neighborhood diner atmosphere. Not real close to home, but my wife and I go about as frequently as our travels bring us nearby.
This is a classic retro diner with fresh atmosphere and helpful staff. I needed gluten free and almost anything on the menu can be made gluten free! Who doesn't love all day breakfast or homemade baked goods? It was delicious and portions are good size. Real maple syrup too
I love that they have a multitude of gluten free options. Being sensitive to cross contamination, they are wonderful about making sure things are safe for me to eat. They even went over the menu and explained how they could modify it to make it gluten free. They do not have a dedicated fryer yet, so, I couldn't have anything from there, but with so many other options and delicious home fries it was totally fine. They also have gluten free baked goods!
This local hangout offers an excellent dining experience for breakfast, lunch, or snacks. I am particularly fond of their coffee and salads. The breakfast hours, which extend from morning to afternoon, are especially convenient when trying to go anywhere with children who never agree.... Unlike parenting the food is consistently flavorful, plentiful, and the atmosphere is relaxed and easy, There is fun art to look at on the walls, and it seems that special care taken in preparing each dish unlike the rushed approach commonly found in fast food or chain establishments. Today I had the taco salad and lots of hot delicious coffee. My girlfriend who I was having lunch with had a huge waffle with strawberries and whipped cream with decaf coffee and bacon. Everything was delicious!
Good breakfast Eggs Benedict was cooked very well. Hollandaise sauce was creamy. I added some Sriracha to give a kick! Poached eggs were done wonderfully. Delicious breakfast with 2 pieces of French toast, eggs over easy, sausag3 and bacon. Coffee and OJ. All in all God quick Diner location. The restaunt has operated at that location for 13 years but has been in the city of Scotia NY for over 45 years!
I love a dinner. This one did it right. The potatoes are perfect. The everything but beautiful enough that it just makes you feel lovely. And everything came quickly for the staffing that they have which by the way was only one server. So if this place can do it this well with this amount of people I would love for more to come and experience this. It was totally worth the little track off the i-90 to have an amazing meal and a little piece of history in this little town
Incredible! I live so close and never knew this gem of a pace had gluten free options let alone so many! It’s not often you can find a diner that serves with allergies in mind! The food was excellent, nice size proportion, price and service. I walked to pick up with my bulldog and the waitress came out and took my card to pay and brought my food out to us, without me requesting it. Went above and beyond. Definitely my new fav place! I have to also say awhile back my mother in law ventured off on foot while she was visiting and ended up at scotia diner to eat. She somehow misplaced her wallet. She didn’t realize until it was time to pay while she was dining there. She got so nervous and overwhelmed and They were so kind to her, calmed her and called us to let us know what happened. A true hometown experience.
Was a cool place to visit. It's like an old diner pulled out of a movie. Customers were all happy and staff were all friendly. Staff also always came around to make sure coffee was topped up and made themselves available for guests. Great place and food was awesome. Ordered a cheese omlete with home fries and raisin toast.
If you didn't know it was there, you'd go right by it. Big mistake. If you see it go in and try the food for yourself. I enjoyed the "Ultimate Hobo" with sausage gravy. Large (huge) portions, season to your own tastes. Service is friendly and attentive to customers. Coffee is good too.
Have been here a few times. The food is pretty good, the staff are very pleasant, but you may have to flag someone down for them to come to your table to ask for more coffee, or basics like napkins. other than that, I would recommend.
Normal diner with very reasonable prices. The staff is always friendly. This place can be super busy on the weekends, so you might have to wait for seating but usually not very long. Coffee is always fresh. The food is average in my opinion but everyone I know really loves this place.
This was a neat little diner, plenty to look at and choose from, though the older women I was greeted by (3 different ones) not one single one started off with "Hi, How are you today?" If you aren't happy, get a different job. Otherwise the food was completely delicious.
Excellent breakfast for lunch. Top quality bacon, ham and sausage. Omelette very good. Used an entertainment coupon. Pancakes very good. Mixed opinion on coffee. I liked it alot but companion likes super bold which this coffee is not. Prices very reasonable. Portion sizes very big. Service pretty good. Waitress ran out of restaurant to catch a customer who left her scarf behind. Big Elvis motif. Even had an Elvis tribute performer in concert last month. Right across the street from low cost Scotia cinema. Very glad we gave it a try.
Had the ultimate hobo for breakfast - was HUGE! A little heavy on the potatoes, but very good nonetheless. The toast wasn't quite toasted enough - more like soggy bread. Other than that, experience was great. If you're looking for a place that looks and feels like a diner out of history, this is the place!
Small diner on the edge of town. No frills spot with some old decorations on the walls. Food was tasty. The service was excellent despite the diner being short staffed. Waitress was friendly and brought out kids food quickly so they could eat and settle in. Definitely a more local spot and could use some updating.
Good food but grumpy service. Waitress was not friendly and seemed like she didn't want us there. Nice place with interesting decorations. It has potential but we will not go back because of grumpy.
Food is pretty good. Service is slow and the older woman cashier is kinda rude. Mostly go there because its so cheap. And BTW, the review from "Frankie G" is by one of the owners. If you go to their website the review is posted and its labeled "Frank G (You)." Old people and technology...lol.
What I had was average. It was chicken platter. Most diners give a lot of food. This was so minimal I had to buy some chips to fill myself up. If you're in the area and have time drive to Tops in Rotterdam. Much better food and atmosphere much better. I won't go back to this place.
Idk. I know there people. They live next to a 76 yr old lady. It would take 45 seconds to brush the snow off her car and the 3 steps to her door. Yet they don't do it. Tells me all I need to know about stopping here. It could be a free gourmet breakfast, but I'll keep.going Ps. I just finished the lady's walk I lied. Took me 5 minutes not 45 seconds
Food was very good nice portions very reasonably priced. Owner was staff just single person in kitchen so took bit for food but came out hot .
Breakfast: pretty good. I'd give it 4/5 stars. They had a pretty good selection of the breakfast basics. I had the "Cindy" and it had decent pancakes but the syrup with in prepackaged singles. The bacon was good and they didn't have to much extra grease on them. The eggs were cooked to order and the potatoes were awesome. The coffee was decent as well, not burnt tasting which is a huge plus. The waitress was excellent and gave plenty of drink refills. Lunch: not that great for lunch, may 2/5 stars. It seemed like mostly frozen food. My girlfriends food was almost inedible as well. The waitress was also really terrible. Took her 15 before she stopped by to get our drink order and then ran off before we could give our food order. The food took a long time and was not fresh by the time we got it either. I would suggest going for breakfast because it's good and pretty cheap. Stay away from lunch unless you don't mind going a few times to see if they have something that is good. Pretty large difference between the service depending on how busy it is.
I would like to say that I have mixed reviews on this place. I am very happy with their food and their prices are not bad at as far at the goes. I also had a waitress that was outstanding with her job and how she conducted herself as a waitress and serving our families needs during our time there. Here is why I gave it such a low review. We were there the last time and we were going to go to see the Elvis Impersonator and purchased tickets. What was not known was that that was a lot of other things in the show that we were not a where of and that day we tried to cancel it and get our money back and they would not accommodate us and we were a few weeks away from the event. Then with the Covid-19 we could not go and it was cancelled and they still would not refund our money. We lost our money to this place and it was about $125. If you are going for the food great you probably will not be disappointed and the scenery was beautiful but make sure you know what you are getting yourself into when you purchase a ticket to any of their future events. Because I know we will never do it again. Hank you for listening.
Large portions of food that good and tasty. Very busy on the Sunday we went, the line was out the door. They were speedy in getting you to your table, but often forget to assign a waitress to you so you've got to speak up if you want your order to get to the cooks. We watched 2 elderly woman not get served any food while 3 customers that came in after them got food and some already left before anyone noticed the 2 ladies. It would be nice if all their waitresses and servers were a bra regardless of their cup size. It was such a turn off. We were grossed out by one worker that checked customers out at the register. She carried a dish cloth in her back pocket and used it to clean the tables as well as spills on the floor. One time this same dish cloth fell from her back pocket onto the main walkway. It stayed there for several minutes as people passed by it. Someone finally mentioned to the worker it fell. She quickly grabbed it, folded it up, and back into her pocket it went. Ugh! :( and yuck!
I want to scotia a diner for breakfast. The western omelet I had was very good. I have to say the waitress was very polite And attentive. The best part about the whole experience was the prices.I will definitely go back
My parents have been eating at the Scotia Diner for nearly 20 years, starting back when it used to be located next to Vern's Barbershop. Since I've only been a few times, I asked them their opinion of this place over the years. They feel it used to be a cozier place. At one time, they would always visit to meet their friends in the morning. They still go, but told me that sense of camaraderie isn't as tangible today. I had the meatlover's omelette on this most recent visit, and it made for a decent breakfast. The wait-staff were quick and polite.
I have been here many times and it is sad to watch it go downhill as time passes. The food is okay for the price you are paying but nothing fantastic anymore. The place constantly feels dirty and sticky and I hate that. You can visibly see the dust on the knickknacks and around the restaurant. My biggest issue is the staff is super unfriendly, which is unfortunate because it was not always that way. What used to be a diamond in the rough is now just lump of coal.
This off the wall diner is all about Elvis. It's a laid back like 50's place. I'm not impressed with the food or the service there. It is either not a very clean place or due to the decorations it makes it seem dingy. The service isn't the greatest, the food neither. I'd go somewhere else. Try J&T's if looking for a cute diner with good food and a pleasant atmosphere. It's just around the corner on Sacandaga Rd. Or travel up to the Glenville Queen up Rt 50. You'll be better off. Prices are about the same but oh what a difference.
I used to rate this place 5 stars, we were faithful regulars here however recently we are ignored by one waitress in particular waiting in excess of 10-15 mins, someone else walks in and sits down and get serves immediately. Waitress has no idea of who has been waiting to be served and has resulted in 2 weekends in a row seeing 10 or more people walk out from not being acknowledged. I get the world is short staffed but at least acknowledge people who have supported you faithfully all these years. I would hate to see this place fold but if you do it will be all because of one waitress. Will be a long time till I set foot in this place. Wish you all the best.
The moment my 2 girl friends and I walked in, we felt really unwelcome. We got a lot of stares and were seated at a table in the middle of the diner. We politely and warmly asked if we could move to a booth—there were plenty available, no wait—and were met with an unexpectedly VERY rude and mean response. Despite our friendly and warm approach, we felt like we were being treated differently. Eventually, a more kind waitress came along and moved us to a booth, but at that point, we felt so uncomfortable. It seemed like the staff might have preferred locals or regulars, which was confusing since we all grew up in Scotia. It’s a shame because we were really hoping for a good experience. Sadly, we won’t be coming back.
Went there in the afternoon. The seating was spacious and well readjusted, post COVID precautions. I absolutely loved the decor and the vibe- 50s style and even a quaint Marilyn Monroe booth ! There was only one employee in the front, who I presume, from the receipt, was also the owner. The service was fast and efficient - not overly friendly-but there also weren't many patrons there when I visited. I can only chalk this up to the previous reviews left where customers stated they witnessed difficulties between employees and customers. Also everyone seems to be short staffed these days. My scrambled eggs were a little runny, so I decided not to finish them- was not a fan of the home fries. Also ordered cornbeef hash and that was also a little undercooked. I got the feeling that everything was cooked on the same griddle which made the tastes of the food not great. Hard to say if I will return there.
The atmosphere is great. Such a unique place but the food was horrible. The man that waited on us was very nice until I asked to have my food taken away from the table. I even told him I would pay for it I just didn’t like it. He asked what was wrong with it and I politely told him the food had no seasoning on it and the pita was stale and falling apart. Just wasn’t worth the calories to me 🤷🏻♀️ he got very offended and scolded me with looks. I’m sorry but will not ever return there. FIFA way too overpriced for the quality of it.
Reprimanded for not waiting to be seated. I just didn't see the sign. Short staffed, rude male owner. We would never go back. First impression very negative. Avoid this place. Spend your hard-earned money elsewhere.
Very unprofessional staff (everyone was complaining about each other). We ate breakfast and it tasted like frozen pancakes and frozen french toast. The bathrooms were very dirty and looked like they haven't been cleaned in days. May go back and give this place another chance but probably not any time soon.
I had my first visit to Scotia Diner. This Diner has an interesting history based on my research. However, Sadly I don't believe they will have a future. The owner and waitress staff projects their frustrations publicly. I've witnessed staff yell, and curse at each other and at their customers. I understand that the diner is understaffed ( like everywhere currently); however this is not an excuse nor is it appropriate to disrespect customers. Throughout my experience at this diner waitress staff, and the owner was expressing their frustrations repeatedly; which created an uncomfortable environment for the customers. This was my first and last visit. If you respect yourself and your loved ones; do not visit this diner.
Rude, waited 25 minutes to order. Paid for 2 coffee's and tip. Waitress watched me out money on table never said a word to me. I know why half thier tables were available while J&Ts. Cafe had a 40 minute and Glenville Queen had a 20 minute wait. Never again. Tried to call and speak with someone after fact no one answers the phone.
The owner is engaged in illegal point of sale surcharges in violation of NYS GENERAL BUSINESS LAW §518. The price in the menu is not what you will pay if you attempt to pay with a credit card, and nowhere is that explained to you prior to getting your bill. What sealed the deal was the explanation on the bottom of the receipt, which was spelled wrong, telling us that there was a 3.8% upcharge (in reality it was 4%, I did the math) and thanked us for "you're (sic) understanding." When I pointed out to the checkout girl that it was illegal to bill me in this fashion, the wait staff tried to tell me that it was A) tax, which it wasn't or B) gluten free upcharges, which would be fine except the gluten free was a flat $2.50 applied ONLY to GF options. Finally they dragged the owner from his post in the kitchen, and he proceeded to scream at me about how I was quibbling over pennies (he's breaking the law), that I had made the choice to eat at his diner (I didn't know I was eating at a place that breaks the law), and that it wasn't his job to pay for my privilege (I still don't know what that was supposed to mean... lawbreakers aren't always the most articulate). Then, after I asked him to stop yelling at me, he told me he was too busy for this (not breaking the law, I'm assuming) and stormed off, ranting about how busy his diner was... half the tables were empty, and now I can see why. If you value decent food, substandard service, and illegal, hidden fees, Scotia Diner is the establishment for you. If you value transparency in your dining establishments and owners who actually follow consumer protection laws, perhaps pass on this one.
The food was good, and the price was alright, but we were beset upon by flies. The waitress came to our table exactly three times: when she took our order, when she brought our food, and when she brought the check. The rest of the time she was complaining loudly about her hours, what she had to do, and what her coworkers were doing. I couldn't help thinking that that conversation should've been held in the back somewhere, or maybe she should have focused on the two whole tables she had, as our cups sat empty for most of the time we were there. I wont be returning to give them a second chance.
Worst place to eat. Never consistent and if you like grumpy people this is the place for you. I don't like the decor and the food, I just about walked out. Don't waste your time. Go to J&T's around the corner on rt 147, Sacandaga Rd. Extremely good food and service. You won't be disappointed guaranteed.
Used to be the best. The food is still okay, but nothing like it was 5 years ago. It's sad because the SD has been my go-to breakfast place since I first moved to Glenville in the 1980s. The fries are amazing in all their various size/shape options, but they are not good enough to make me subject myself to abuse and pay for the "privilege". The new owner is extremely unpleasant to both his staff and his customers. I will not be returning. I guess J & T's will be getting all my breakfast business.
I don't know how this establishment is still open. The owner or chef who was a older heavy set man was extremely rude and aggressive. I read all the reviews about this place and it makes me feel a little better to know that it wasn't just me that had that experience. It actually hurt my feelings and that doesn't happen often. They are closed on Wednesdays because they don't have enough staff and I now understand why. I work in Scotia and it's lovely place filled with great people but I will make sure I let everyone know how I was treated. To the workers that have to deal with him...please know that no one deserves to be spoken to or treated with bigotry and disrespect. That place is always empty for a reason. Leave that toxic environment. No job is worth that!!!
Sad. I visited a few weeks ago and had a great experience. New management has shifted the vibe into jerk mode. I have patronized this place for 30 years, seen it through the move from the theatre block to its current location, and have spent thousands of dollars there. Great fries. New policy. "No outside food or drink." Great. Respect that. Maple syrup. Hasn't been an option at this place for the last 30 years. Corn syrup has been complimentary. There is no maple syrup option on the menu. I strongly prefer the maple stuff on my pancakes and waffles, because... well, just because. Since my last visit, apparently maple syrup has been added as an option, even though it is not on the menu. I hadn't actually decided before I got into my seat whether I would be having anything needing syrup or not, but I did plunk down my container of grade B maple goodness on the table. This is where things went sideways. I ordered an iced tea. I was confronted by another staff member and informed of the policy on the door. Not in a friendly way, in a very rude way. I wasn't asked to correct the issue, I was just informed they now had new management and had maple syrup. The iced tea was delivered. I asked for my check. I was done. Then to top it all off, the freaking chef comes out, and informed me I would not be served. I replied I was already leaving. Never to come back.
Went for lunch the other day and the way the owner came out and spoke to his employees was embarrassing and disgusting. The place is dirty and the owner n his wife don’t know how to treat there employees at all and makes you wonder y is it jus him and his wife and one employee. To be honest I will never visit again nor do I recommend this place. Also the owner is taking down bad reviews on the place so there is only good reviews on the place so ppl can visit. The food is ok nothing spectacular. I contacted the BBB and the state again these ppl. They should not be treating people like this. I will keep writing a bad review on this place because I know when the owner sees this he or she will take it down. So I’ll have to write it over again.
Used to visit this place at least once a month but lately things change. The place been renovated and the service did as well. My last three visits was a nightmare once me and my kids got refuse to be seated although it's a self seated place and four tables was available so I left the second time it took thirty minutes to service us coffee and am hour wait to take our order and receiving the food . The third time me and my girlfriend waited thirty minutes no one showed up at our table while they was serving customers that came in after us . Don't know if skin color has anything to do with it but I will blame it on bad customers service. I will take my money somewhere else..
Can I use no stars? We just went in waited at the front at where the hostess checks you in a waitress came over grabbed stuff and had back to us and left continued to wait FOUR WAITRESSES right there not one hello or please can you hold. I loved this place. NEVER AGAIN will I go there again miserable snots. Please find out what waitresses are not doing their job because they are always usually great and have amazing food. Today really messed going there up.
Service and food was decent as always. Nothing to rave about. The cook that was running the kitchen was causing a scene with the ladies upfront. So unprofessional and basically we left early because of that. Keep ur dirty laundry in the back of the house and maybe those ladies will snap back ya. Wont be returning for our frequent visits.
I am regrettably writing a bad review for this place. I have been coming here for almost 20 years even before to its current location. It was run by nice older couple and son cooked. Been there for many years after with both good and bad experiences. Went in for lunch today and the son/cook/owner took our order. Everything was fine when ordering except my father changed his order once I ordered to my order as it sounded better for him. Unfortunately, the owner did not like that and decided to kick us out and not serve us after showing his frustration and stress. I know this sounds like it’s missing something to the story but it is not. In recent years this place has been lacking and I understand having a bad day but I tried reason with him but his actions and behavior was totally uncalled for. I will unfortunately not be returning this place again. And I am going to assume it won’t be around much longer if he can’t control his anger.
Food was not good...hot turkey sandwich was made with thin sliced cold cuts that tasted off...bottled or canned gravy and cornbread stuffing was old and dry and tasted like it had been warmed up in old rancid oil. Only good thing were the French fries. My companion's turkey wrap made with same cold cuts. Was also charged over the menu cost for the added stuffing. I brought it to the owner's attention and he returned the money in coins. Would not go there again.
Was there for lunch this morning. The owner is a complete jerk. Berated the young waitress in front of customers for not cleaning a table the way he wanted it done. A customer told him it was rude and should have been handled in private. This half of a man kicked the lady out of the diner. When confronted about his actions by other customers he ran into the back room like a coward. Assuming his poor little feelings were hurt and was nervous when it wasn't a woman he was face to face with. My party walked out and cancelled our order. Everyone else in the place walked out as well. The food here is only sub-par at best but is acceptable in a pinch but we will never return and have let everyone know that we have spoken with since this happened the type of person this guy really is. With a bit of luck the poor girl that was working walked out shortly thereafter and doesn't look back. No one needs to be treated that way. You can do so much better than that place.
The owner is walking around swearing. Yelling at staff and customers on the phone..NEVER COME HERE AGAIN!!!!!
This place has been closed without much explanation the last few times I passed so when it was open today, I was excited to try it again. Multiple signs say to please wait to be seated. We waited quite a while until a heavyset older man came and told us to sit wherever we want before walking away without a greeting or anything. The parking lot was crowded and has confusing no parking and towing company signage, so we asked about a spot being okay to park in or not. The same man sighed heavily told us "I dunno, it's your car so whatever you want," rolled his eyes and walked away. We left. I guess this guy is the reason it's always closed. A shame - I remember it being good back in the day :(
I’ve been going to this place for years, and send a lot of people here because the breakfast is really good. The last time I was here the waiter which was a man I didn’t catch his name was very rude! Had an attitude the whole time and I usually don’t leave bad reviews but the way I was treated this time, I didn’t even eat there. Sat down at a table that was clean and no one was sitting at, due to the fact we’re always told to seat ourselves…. A older woman came and told us to get up and wait in front in the most rude way she possibly could… I felt so uncomfortable I walked out. Should’ve never came back after the last time! Don’t waste your time and eat here.
The food was okay. Pretty basic, but the waiter was rude and kept making us feel unwelcome. For example, while we were ordering breakfast, he asked us how we would like our toast. Then, when we asked a clarifying question about what information he wanted, he responded in an annoyed way, saying, “well, we have toast 🙄” and then proceeded to answer the question we had asked. Then, he gave us our check after we had just started eating. He did the same thing for the table next to us, and he had to correct the check because they wanted dessert and he gave them the check WAY too early. Do not recommend. Go somewhere else.
When trying to go out for a family breakfast today, we were disappointed to be refused service because there are seven of us. We had three young children and offered to squeeze into a round corner booth to which they refused and just simply said they could not serve us. No offer of waiting or accommodating by putting other tables together.
I had over easy eggs with toast and home fries. Food was cold and I had to use a knife to cut through the egg whites which weren’t white.
Highly disappointed. I called and placed an order for a sandwich to pick up. The female that answered the phone was condescending and rude. The food was just as bad as the customer service. Worst sandwich I ever had. How do you screw up a sandwich. Think twice. There are other diners out and eateries out there who can deliver on quality of food and customer service.
Upon walking in we noticed how freezing it was in there and when we asked about it the guy was not happy. He snapped that it was 69 degrees which is was definitely not. The bathroom was filthy and when the food came the potatoes were cold and rock hard not cooked. I’ll not be eating there again
I’ve been here a few times and each time the food was great the service was friendly and quick, but this time we sat in a booth with the sign I have attached. My boyfriend and I were appalled by it. We finished our food, got the check and left. We will not be returning. It’s a shame because we really did love this place, but the blatant misogyny ruined it. Posting to let other women know that this is apparently how this business owner feels about us. I would have liked a heads up before giving them our money.
Heat up a can of cat food instead… Rubbish breakfast. Bait & switch pricing, up charging. Terrible service. Sound track of a cook yelling in the kitchen. SOFT scrambled eggs, home fries, sausage… eggs, scrambled, overcooked, dry, no seasoning. Soft scrambled eggs should look & have the texture of large curd cottage cheese. Sausage clearly bought by the lowest price not quality. Cooked from one side and served barely warm. No onions, peppers or noticeable seasoning in the home fries.
First of all the food was good. The prices were good. But too much upselling, I rarely leave a small tip but I did this time I won't go back simply because of the waitresses upselling. Maybe it's her job but I sure didn't like it. All I want is eggs and toast. Which was reasonable.
Staff/owners seemed to be inconvenienced by patrons even walking in. When we got there, a waitress (?) asked us how many, looked around the dining room and vaguely gestured at some tables. Never got menus. When other family walked in and had also chose their own table, a waiter (?) made a rude comment about them making up their mind. The place is dingy and there’s a bunch of trashy signs everywhere. We didn’t even eat. Made us really uncomfortable.
