I regret not trying this right away. I loved it! My parents enjoyed it so much.. Freshly cooked food and decent prices. Thank you for amazing service
Is there mice in the indoors, yes. Will i come back to eat?, ABSOLUTELY. The food has never failed to be amazing and not to mention the service is amazing as well. Yes i saw a mouse but everyone gets a little hungry sometimes and animals deserve food too! Plus alive been going here my whole life and never saw anything like that until then. Is it a safety concern? Definitely, but im sure there far more places youve ate at that have more going on
The catfish we picked along with the shrimp and scallops was excellently prepared. We picked our beer and found a great outdoor spot. The food with large tartar sauce and large shrimp cocktail saucwifh lots of Lenins camera very quickly. We will definitely come here again!
I’ve been to Pier 8 a few times now, and it’s become a must-stop whenever I’m in Houston. The fish is always fresh, and I love that you can buy it by the pound and have it cooked right there — doesn’t get any better than that! This last visit, the staff was super friendly and even helped us carry our to-go order to the car. One of the employees mentioned they also have small venues available for rent, which I thought was really cool, especially being right by the ocean. We ordered 8 pounds of fried jumbo shrimp and 2 pounds of fries — everything was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. Highly recommend this place!
A coworker was telling us about this little gem, and while down the road at a band competition we decided to give it a try. The people behind the counter were super helpful to us newbies, explaining how to order, ways to order, and price. They weighed the shrimp we ordered and asked if it was ok. We ordered jumbo shrimp fried and boiled. Flavor was great! We ordered more than we could eat so we could bring some home. With a small fry and onion rings, look at the portion of that! They have all different types of fish, sizes of shrimp, frog legs, oysters, it’s really a seafood lovers paradise! Atmosphere was amazing outdoor dining on the water for a pretty perfect day and view. A lot of families gathered, visiting, and we absolutely loved it. Go check them out because we most certainly will be making the drive back from the Golden Triangle area.
I had the shrimp and tilapia platter at Pier 8 in Seabrook, and it was absolutely delicious! The seafood was fresh, perfectly seasoned, and cooked just right — crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The portions were generous, and the flavors really stood out. The laid-back atmosphere and friendly service made the whole experience even better. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, Pier 8 is a must-try for great seafood in a casual, coastal setting!
This place brings back nostalgia. I grew up coming here with my parents! Now we go back when we are around the area with my children. I love how the dished never change in flavor. The fries are my favorite part. The perfect amount of crispiness. The staff is very welcoming. We did go on a day that it was a slow and the service was fast! But usually I n a weekend it’s super busy but we never mind waiting the food it’s worth it.
I love this place and have a fond memory of having lunch with my parents and sister here. It’s grimy but hey, places like this are known to have the best eats. Smelling the salty air made the delicious food taste even better. We picked out our seafood from the wet market inside. Everything is caught fresh and cooked fresh, exactly how you want it prepared with the proteins you hand-picked. We had battered shrimp, fried rice, deep fried whole red snapper, and red snapper sinigang (a Filipino veggie soup with your choice of protein and flavored with tamarind). It was soooo good! I was kinda sad when I started getting full because even though my mouth and teeth were willing to keep eating, my stomach was like THATS ENOUGH. And let me tell you about that amazing nap after that meal too. My family and I are going back soon, and we can’t wait.
The best fish shop you could ever go to! You walk in and buy your fish, shrimp , scallops, and squid by the pound, you could have them fry it or take, but as always we have ours fried, also with a soup! The soup is really delicious they add spinach, onions, and tomatoes with fish and ship of your choice! High recommend this spot!
We went as soon as they opened. i had never been before so was trying to review my options… seems we were “ rushed” to order. The gentleman was impatient so we kinda picked anything. The red snapper was fried perfectly and seasoned well. The frog legs appeared to be fried with no batter which left them tasteless. The scallops were greasy and the batter was soft…The shrimp was fried and seasoned perfectly. A good experience for you if you want to pick your own fish out and have it cooked. My only gripe was the lady at the register was trying to have us leave a 15.00 tip …. No ma’am. Why would i leave a 15.00 tip for someone that just brought food to the table . They don’t come back to check on you, drinks are bottles or cans so no refills and we cleaned our own area when we were done. Over all….. i will give it a 7 out of 10.
It is an experience to have and enjoy. When you walk in, all you will see is a long line of fresh fish on ice. You can purchase fresh fish and take home to cook, or you can have them cook. Seasoning is placed in a small container and placed on each tray that you can add once you receive your tray. There are specific combo plates that you can have, but it is at the end of the fish line. Purchase drinks at cashier. The tables are picnic tables and seats cannot be scooted in/out as they are attached.
We came at night for dinner. You pick what you want to eat from the fish market. It had good varieties. They offer frying or shrimp boiling. I would've loved for them to have a grill option for more healthy meals. There were no crabs of any type. We got fried alligator, red snapper, scallops, calamari, and boiled shrimp. The red snapper was great, and the other dishes were good as well. The staff were nice. The main seating patio on the lake was closed and we had to sit on a side seating. The tables were old fasion wooden I think it's a one-time visit, but you will enjoy it. We paid $ 220 for 4 people.
I ordered a whole sea bass filleted. They was charged for the whole fish weight. The filleted it and overcooked. Even the thick part of fillet was dry. The thin part was charred crispy. Similar to pork skin texture. Shrimp and fries were good but not much seasoning flavor. Calamari was flavorless. $68 for two people. I will not go back there.
You order at the counter, you buy a canned or bottled drink and bring it up yourself to the 2nd floor where you wait at a table for your food. They don't give you refills and there's no actual serving. They just clean up your table. Our experience was iffy. We arrived at 6:45. In the corner, I saw our two future "servers" on their phones with a very sad look on their face as if they were upset that they would have to work so hard to bring us a tray of food exactly one time. Order food and you are forced to tip in advance for service you are not sure the quality of. Food was done around 7. At 7:25, right before we finished eating, the two "waitresses" (who didn't actually wait on us at all) announced the restaurant was closed and we needed to leave without offering to go boxes or anything. The hours state that this place does not close until 8pm. The "waitress" stated it closes whenever it's empty. I understood this. However, we were still there, so was it empty??? The food is great, but the hours need to be updated or next time please announce that you'll be closing within 30 minutes before people order food that way you're not having to surprise them with information that could have been communicated beforehand.
We came a few yrs ago and never came back, but I wanted the big shrimp, we waited about 1 hr for food, we were missing an item, but once I told them they took care of it. The rice was a from a. Bag, fish tasted a bit weird, shrimp were decent. Everytime we asked for something they said ask your waitress but we never saw anyone. We had to pack our own trash
Dined here after church, around 1pm. The place was packed. You wait in line to tell workers how many pounds of each item. 3 adults ordered less than 2 pounds each of catfish and shrimp. Fries and 3 CANNED sodas for $2.50 each. Total was $114. Cashier had the audacity to ask for a tip before service. A table was available outside, but due to the heat, we moved inside where air was circulating, but still hot. Waited 60 minutes for food. Everything was hot and fresh, but unseasoned, and fried too hard. It was so rubbery that our mouths were tired of chewing. Had to add salt, pepper, lemon, and Mexican hot sauce. Tartar sauce by Ken's was subpar. May come back and bring my own seasoning or get fresh fish to go and cook at home. The only thing I liked was the beaded chandelier.
This place is over priced for what you get. It must be a local thing. We didn’t see what the hype was about. They used PARBROILED rice for the fried rice for an $8 small. That’s a rip off. The flavor of the rice, don’t get it. The shrimp and tilapia was good. Nothing that would have us go back.
