Gosh what a treat. We visited for date night... we had a pretty amazing spread. The opening bites included cheesy crab dip and some really tasty prawns and avocado salad. Dinner was amazing with my girl having stuffed halibut over asparagus and baby potatoes, while I enjoyed a chowder sampler and a crab salad. Total with a cocktail and wine was well under $200. Not bad for going all in on a date night these days imo. Service was spot on, and we found it a lavish treat. The food really was great.
I was famished, and since I'm visiting the Pacific Northwest, I decided to have seafood! This menu looked good, and I was craving salmon, so I gave this place a try. I ordered the clam chowder, fresh basil pesto salmon, and the grab your bibb Dungeness crab salad. Everything from the presentation, flavor, and ratio was excellent! The crab salad was great, and the salad dressing paired with the salad toed everything together. The salmon was perfectly cooked, and the basil was jam-packed with flavor. Even the potatoes were perfectly crispy! The clam chowder soup was delicious, and even when I had a bite, it sent me to food heaven. I only wish I could have ordered another one! All in all, it was a great meal that was filling and satisfying!
Salmon pasta is my favorite! Drinks are always great as well.
Really cool seafood chain in the seattle area. This location has a very nice neighborhood vibe. Chowder is some of the best I’ve ever had. And great drinks too. Service was excellent
I went to Duke's with my friend right before I left Seattle, it's a must go if you ever visited Seattle. You can sit inside or outside. I didn't get to go inside but outside was just fine. The area is peaceful, the food is good, service is perfect, As entree, I had prawns del Cabo wabo, it's wild Mexican prawns grilled and served with a citrus vinaigrette and avocado salad 😋Then I had prawn, scallop and crab. My friend on the other hand had the rock fish taco and the Coco loco prawns as entree. I had the Duke and the King cocktail my friend had the blueberry lemon drop❤️ my evening was perfect 😍
The outdoor dining area is fantastic with the view of green lake. Seeing people jogging while you are gaining calories. The fried fish is a thick slice of cod. It tastes so good, the skin is crunchy and the cod is freash. The fries also tasty. The clams are garlicky, buttery and tender. And smell good. The smoked salmon within the gnocchi is a little bit salty to me, but still taste good.
Very charming place in a beautiful neighborhood. The lake is across the street with devine views. The food at Duke's is on expensive side but if you go there during happy hour the prices are very reasonable. Clam Chowder was a little too creamy for my taste but everything else was top notch.
Wonderful spot to eat lunch under the sun. The patio seating area is a great spot to do people watching and get your daily dose of vitamin D. Your dose of fresh caught fish is aplenty, too. Love this spot. Great service, great food.
Came because Im across the street and stumbled upon during happy hour. Surprisingly excellent food! Prices are very high for what feels like a glorified seafood diner but the service is wonderful and the food is actually delicious. 100% recommend the sweet potato fries. Probably the fluffiest, lightest, best tasting sweet taters I've had. Chowder and shrimp was perfect as well. It's a bit pricey but happy hours are kinda worth. Food: 8/10 Service: 8/10 Experience: 6/10 Value: 6/10
Had reservations made it early was seated. The food was good. I had the Blood Orange Magarita cajun chicken corn chowder (yum) and the fish and chips. Our waiter Addison was very nice and friendly.
My 3rd time to eat here since moving to Greenlake in May. Great food!
We ordered calamari and crab dip from the happy hour appetizer menu...both delicious and a good amount. Also had the Basil Pesto Salmon that was delicious.. Great service and easy street parking.. l
Always great food and atmosphere! Wild child salad with added prawns is a must have. Add a blood orange margarita and you have a winner. Must try in Seattle.
Wow- great food nice outside atmosphere when avaliable- facing the park. Price was a little expensive but worth it. Service was fantastic despite being busy. Had the dungeons crabcake sandwich combo with lobster chowder and sweet potatoes fries- led by complimentary bread loaf and butter with a $3 Rainer lager that complimented the meal well. Lobster chowder was fantastic- made with sweet potatoes which complmented the fries nicely. Salty, sweet and creamy- very interesting but satisfying. Crabcake sandwich was amazing... except it included bacon. I love bacon and this was cooked soft which I also prefer, however it overpowered the delicate flavor of the crabcake, creamyness of the avocado and tang of the aioli. I removed the bacon and ate it without and it was amazing. Only drawbacks were the price and parking- the least expensive thing on the menu was $15 for appetizers but entries averaged $25-35 or more. Parking on site is limited to 10-15 spaces and even on a Thursday at noon I had trouble finding a parking space. Would recommend.
Listen… if you’re looking for really great food and phenomenal service… get your bad self to Dukes! The staff takes great care of you and the food is sooo delicious! The blueberry lemon drop… first rate! You won’t regret it.
My family loves this Duke’s location in Greenlake. There’s limited parking in the back, but honestly, parking can be tough anywhere in Seattle, so we don’t mind. We come here a few times a year specifically for their happy hour - the prices are a bit higher than other spots, but you’re paying for sustainably caught seafood, so it makes sense. This visit, we ordered a variety of happy hour items to share across the table: the crabby deviled eggs, crab cakes, salmon sliders, Manila clams, fried shrimp, calamari, and a side Caesar salad. Their complimentary sourdough bread basket is always a hit, too. The staff here is consistently friendly and welcoming, and the service is great every time. We’ve always been seated pretty quickly, and their outdoor patio facing Greenlake is perfect in the warmer months. Always a reliable spot for good seafood and a relaxed atmosphere.
This was an almost disaster that was saved by the Manager Lauren. We had 7 o'clock reservations but once we arrived they told us that the reservations were made too late and couldn't be honored even with confirmation. BUT there were immediate solutions offered. They called other restaurants and checked times at the current tables. We ended up sitting at the bar and not even five minutes later they gave us the only table available. The manager stayed past her shift to work our table. Any issue we had she resolved it immediately. We had such a great time and really enjoyed the food. We were even seating rough near the water outside. I didn't know we had to pay for parking but it wasn't super expensive. It seems they share a lot with a lot of other businesses. There is a free lot next door. They have a parking pass to our birthday girl so I loved that! Thank you so much Lauren M.!
Usually sit at the bar at Duke’s Seafood and have tried several dishes over time. Everything so far has been consistently well prepared and enjoyable. Bar service is efficient and pleasant, and the food quality has been reliable on each visit. A solid, dependable choice.
Great food!!! Loved the lobster risotto The portions are generous and the food was tasty! Special mention to the friendly and helpful staff (Addison!) Who was very accommodating, answered all our questions and gave us recommendations ! Totally recommends the place for a seafood restaurant !
The restaurant was really good. The staff was super nice and the service was amazing. The food was delicious, especially the seafood. I had the crab uncake and the rocking rockfish taco, and they were both awesome. Overall, it was a great experience. They have both indoor and outdoor seating.
All of the food was incredible! The sourdough bread was a delicious start. Fish and chips was great - perfect flavor, perfect breading, perfectly cooked fish. The potato wedges were perfect too - soft on the inside and deliciously crunchy on the outside. Stuffed halibut was also very yummy with the potatoes and zucchini. A little pricey for the actual portion of fish you get, though. Cocktails were also well made and yummy. Our server was fantastic and super on top of everything.
starting off, i was pleasantly surprised by the portion of sourdough bread given prior to the meal - as I wasn't expecting that the bread wasn't anything special - but i did like the outside; found it to be pretty crispy. also, i liked the fact that they gave you butter as a dip, although it wasn't easy to spread it on the sourdough as it was just one big block i thought the main part of this dish, the salmon sliders, were quite good, however this came in three separate 'sliders', each with a base of rosemary bread, a sliced tomato, and a portion of salmon, topped with pesto the actual salmon itself was ok - personally i thought it was a bit stringy and chewy, but otherwise not bad. being brushed with oil certainly helped with the taste however, the other aspects of the slider were fantastic normally, i don't like tomatoes, but it fit really well with this dish. the flavor was there but not overpowering i also quite liked the pesto as a condiment - there was a solid amount on there - and it added a nutty texture that was good the best part of these sliders, however, was the rosemary bread. this was exquisitely good - it was crispy, herby, buttery, and served as an incredible base for the sandwich as a whole. i absolutely loved every bite of this the other thing that was a great touch was placing the sliders on the bottom of the bread rather than the 'more fluffy' side. this ensured that the bread wouldn't get soggy from the tomato/salmon and had it retain its crunchiness to the maximum three sliders was also a pretty good portion size another thing i enjoyed was the salad. a lot of places think that lots of dressing, often oil, is necessary to make a good salad, but this place managed to deliver something that tasted really good and had nice flavor with the use of little to no dressing. i'm impressed at the end of my meal, i got a carrot cake from the dessert menu this was decently sized, and the cream cheese frosting on this had a wonderful flavor i didn't taste the carrot as much in the inside of the cake, but i could tell it was still baked well, and the frosting added a great touch i would say its more of a cupcake than a cake, however i came during happy hour, so for the price of about $14, the sourdough bread + the salmon sliders were a pretty good value i can't say the same for the carrot cake - as while it was good - about 9 dollars is a little too expensive for that Overall, a really solid and satisfying variety of foods. 8.5/10
My family loves coming here! Recently brought each of my kids here for a parent/kiddo date day thing, and the restaurant staff were so friendly and warm. The kids salmon is surprising large, and we're always happy with our entrees. We continuously have great experiences. Our favorite snack is the calamari.
Huge portions, super fresh, and great service - shout-out to Sam, who was fantastic and fun! Three of us shared the crab dip appetizer, a trio of chowders (clam, lobster, and the northwest), rockfish tacos, crab-stuffed salmon, and crab-stuffed shrimp. Everything was wonderful! The clam chowder was my favorite of the three, though the lobster was great too. The stuffed salmon was easily one of my favorite things I've eaten and it's going to be a challenge to not eat here every week. Definitely will come back to try more of the huge menu! We waited only about 15 mins for a table on Friday night at 630pm, which was awesome.
Our server Veronica was the best part of our visit. I had the It's So Dreamy Parmesan Halibut. It was not very warm but tasted pretty good. My wife had the Oh My Cod Fish & Chips combo with awesome chowder and spinach salad. Awsome drinks. I suggest the Blood Orange Margarita and the Blueberry Lemon Drop.
Duke's did not disappoint. We stopped by on a late Thursday evening and were promptly seated and greeted by Addison who made the best dirty martini and blueberry lemon drop. We had the stuffed and puffed prawns and cioppino which were excellent. I'll be back the next time I'm in Seattle.
This place is excellent. We've never been to Dukes, and this was our first date night since Everything originally shut down. (!) Service was great, and food was on point! Booths are nicely spaced, and had risers between, you can QR cad a menu, and they even have a separate GF menu. I ordered the Seafood Nosh and it was just right for a little appetizer start! I also had their seasonal "Peaches for Me" cocktail. Delicious drink, and not too sweet. For the main course I ordered a combo-Rockfish taco w/corn tortilla and clam chowder. The taco had enough filling for two, it was so good. 👌 I finished with a GF carrot cake. -not as good as Mom's, but still moist and delicious! Mike ordered the salmon chowder-which I also ate some of, I wanted to bring some home but forgot. His main course was the crab stuffed halibut. I couldn't try this because it was not gf, but man it looked amazing and he said it was great. He finished with the Pier Pie. All in all, a wonderful experience and perfect night out. We will most definitely be back. If we can find another babysitter 😄
Went there for my birthday it was a wonderful experience and the food was beyond my expectations. It's also a healthier way of eating.
One of the best seafood dinners I've had. For the excellent quality of the food, the prices were reasonable. I'd highly recommend going here to celebrate.
We had a party of 12 that included 2 toddlers. Food servers were attentive and refilled delicious hot sourdough bread and beverages.
I rate Duke's very high because the great majority of the time its great. Food is consistently good as are the drinks. Servers are always friendly as are the bartenders. The last time we went though the salads were quite bland and barely had dressing. Also the bees on the deck were a bit out of hand. That said they did their best to address the bees (won't be an issue in a month) and this was probably the 1st time I was disappointed with the food.
Quaint atmosphere. Great staff. Our waitress stayed very aware of the time constraints a member of our group was under. Also very knowledge about the food and willing to ensure item were gluten-free for a member of our party. Generous portions.
I stopped in for happy hour on a Wednesday after reading some good reviews about this place. Not too busy but steady. They seem to have a good amount of regulars based on conversations I overheard. Staff seemed to like each other and their jobs. My server, Mark, was a star! Very helpful and attentive but didn’t crowd me too much. I would probably come back based on the staff and general atmosphere alone. For drinks I had the mojito and the blueberry lemon drop. Both really tasty! I had the deviled egg, chowder sampler trio and a Caesar. Everything was good. I wasn’t a huge fan of the lobster chowder because it was pretty sweet (sweet potato base) but I’m glad I tried it. Their award winning chowder was fantastic and I would probably just get that one next time. Loved the free, warm sourdough! It’s seafood so it isn’t the cheapest but I felt like with the quality of everything and the service that I got my moneys worth. Glad I stopped in!
I love coming to Duke’s Seafood. Addison is our favorite and always takes great care of us, with great recommendations and a great attitude every time we come in. The service is always excellent and every visit feels personal, the staff really take care of us like one of their own. Mark is genuinely kind and caring and always makes us feel welcome, and my friendly friend Janice always makes the experience even better. It’s one of those places where the people are a big part of why I keep coming back.
We stopped by for dinner after an event in December, and we chose to sit outside. The weather cooperated, so it was comfortable. The place was packed and the wait staff were definitely under stress, but they all did a great job moving things along. I ordered their clam chowder and street tacos for dinner. The clam chowder was ok, but the tacos were phenomenal! The spices mixed with the cheese and avacados were a perfect combination of flavors. This dish is now my new favorite.
We love Dukes. We go, sit at the bar, have drinks and lunch or dinner. Food is great and staff are just so friendly. Always good conversation. Just a comfortable place to sit and relax.
I can never complain about Duke's. The food is always amazing, and the sourdough bread helps round things out. It's not cheap, but fun for the occasional treat when with friends or family. The service and food quality never disappoint! Last time, we just split crab dip and had bread (and cocktails - seasonal pear old fashioned and cucumber mojito), and it was all delicious. Full meals there can get quite pricey, but I recall that the lobster mobster chowder is phenomenal (as is their regular clam chowder), and, if you're really splurging, their hazelnut (maybe macadamia?) halibut entree (although I think it might be discontinued now). I dreamt for years of being able to afford that one again! Too bad the nice fish entrees are no longer part of their birthday club specials. But it's still worth getting on their mail list!
The Bbq ribs is good. Their fries also good. Fish and chips just okay. We got a bottle of Chardonnay. It was half price for Monday and it wasn’t a good decision because we ended up order too much food! We got a clam chowder and I don’t know if I got allergies from it or too much alcohol but I got rashes. The manager was so nice and he keep giving us lemon slice, I guess so we are not get drunk. At the end we ordered dessert! Marionberry pie, it was good but we can’t finish it, again, too much food. Overall the experience was great.
It is one of the best seafood places in Northern Seattle for Clam Chowder and fish dishes. Prices are on the higher side, but the food is worth it. The big challenge here is finding a parking spot. They do have a few places behind the restaurant and also some street parking, but this area can be difficult at times to find a spot.
We also got the cod fish and chips and a combo of the rockfish taco with chowder. The chowder was my favorite part, it's so good! Service was great, we sat on the patio on a sunny day! The price is just a little high for what you're getting.
I've been here before and enjoyed it! Same for this visit - I had the stuffed Dungeness crab Halibut. It was incredibly rich and cheesy - almost too much, which I felt distracted a bit from the fresh taste of the crab and fish. Super tender and even better when dipped into the creamy pesto sauce. The side broccolini seemed quickly blanched - I would have preferred a more roasted side of broccolini & potatoes, but they were both surprisingly sweet and good nonetheless. The fried salmon bites are amazing, especially in the fry sauce. The starter bread is hot right out of the oven, soft, and tasty. Very attentive and great service. Water always refilled and fun food recommendations. I wish that the entree was a little more perfect considering that this is a pretty pricey dinner - I spent about $75 for one entree and one appetizer. Happy hour is only $3 off but at least it's something. Minimal vegetarian & vegan options but they do ask & care about allergens.
Good service. Great atmosphere with the outside dining in the summer. Mediocre food. They need to up their game! The Seattle food scene has changed and…we’re not in Kansas anymore. Nonetheless a worthwhile place to go on a summer evening.
Ordered for pick up and was super disappointed about how much I got for my chowder. I got the smallest size and literally it was 3 bites. The soup container was only filled half way. Is that how it normally is? I was confused. I’m paying so much for this expensive food with okay flavors and felt like I got ripped off. The dukes burger was dry, but the fish and chips was good but way too pricey for two pieces.
We've always been able to get a table at Duke's - either inside or outside. My preferred seating is the booths. I never knew there was one small tiny table by the front door that only sits 2 and can barely fit more than 2 entree plates and 2 cups. We were first seated there last time when multiple booths were open all throughout the restaurant, including ones near occupied tables. Luckily, we were able to move to a larger booth because I knew we would need more table space. The service is always on point at this Duke's location. There were 2 separate large groups the last time I was there, which made the restaurant extremely noisy. Before then, I didn't realize how small the restaurant space is with how tightly they cram all the tables. The food is usually decent at Duke's, but not mind blowing. They're also on the pricier side. I understand the prices for anything with seafood, but the burgers are $22+ outside happy hour. The only item I've tried that I wouldn't order again is the crab cake because it was underwhelming. The sauces and aiolis used on multiple dishes are very tasty. They're usually generous with the sauce for the prawns del Cabo wabo, so I try to find some way to finish it off. It looks like the prawns have changed and might be smaller from previous years. They seem closer to shrimp. About the cod fish and chips: they come on a giant fish shaped plate, so I don't know how 2 plates plus drinks could fit on their smallest table. Their tartar sauce is delicious, and I could even eat just that on its own. The fries were crispy, but thick. I usually like thinner fries, but the crispiness made up for that. The forks at Duke's are much larger/longer than I'm used to, so it's hard to eat the coleslaw/salad in the tiny bowl. The tacos come on huge tortillas, so I usually end up having to eat with a fork until there's a little bit left. Otherwise, the tacos are messy to eat because there's so much on top. The green salsa that comes with the tacos is good, but not spicy.
We started with crab cakes and clam chowder. They were both very good. My husband ordered halibut stuffed with crab, it was good. Halibut was cooked perfectly. But the veggies on the side were pea pods and cherry tomatoes, kind of weird. I ordered cod tacos, and the cod was cold and way over seasoned with butter and paprika. I couldn’t even finish one taco. Service was good when at the table but rarely at the table.
Love this place but the prices are ridiculous. Small chowder bowl to go was $17.00. Spinach salad was supposed to have eggs and didn’t and it was more spinach than anything else. They also didn’t allow the happy hour prices for to go…..really annoying.
Prices are much higher, and the food poorer, than last time I visited (~a year or so prior). The clam broth was incredibly salty; the stuffed halibut was dry, showed no sign of having had any contact with prawns, and was served alongside undercooked potatoes and tough broccolini. The greasy, sticky menu should have been enough to tell me not to stay. Tl:dr: you’d pay the same at Ray’s but have a significantly elevated experience, which I will do next time instead.
I got some complementary sourdough and butter. Well made and the best part of the meal. I ordered the fish and chips and it came out not too greasy or rubbery. Still juicy. However both the fish and breading were extremely mild(not sure if it was even seasoned) with the flavor coming from the paired tartar. BTW, that photo below is the amount of chips you get, I didn't eat any yet. I paid 25$ for a third of a potato and half a fish. Berry dessert was great but the waitress didn't tell me that it was a serving for two. So I ended up ordering it and not being able to eat all of it. Generally a middling experience and a toss up if I'll come back again.
Amazing service, honestly a extremely kind staff. Our waitress with the blonde hair was amazing. I had the best dining experience, the decor was on point, would suggest filing in the timing out front I tripped on it, plus some lighting on the side entrance would be great. Now the reason for the 2 stars, the food was just okay, the fish and chips nothing special. The starter sauce and ranch were disgusting. The clam chowder was to rich in flavor and texture had to much of a liquid base. The salsa had to much lime, very runny. Taco shells should have had more of a crunch, the fish on both where perfectly cooked, but a bit more seasoning would make it perfect. Again shout out to the pleasant staff, very attentive.
Read the room: we are in a period of global inflation. The prices are astronomical. There is a way to both profit and also have an effective way to offer daily specials for those that don’t want to spend a paycheck to eat out. Not sure if it’s just greed or being totally and completely out of touch. Try offering a happy hour, half portions or a daily special that’s within reason. FFS. We need neighborhood restaurants that meet the needs of all budgets.
