Today we visited Valverde Restaurant. It’s a hidden gem between Lagos and Luz. The first thing we noticed is the staff is very friendly. Great service and good advice about the menu. The food was absolutely fantastic. Tastefully and very fresh. The restaurant is clean and tidy. Also there is a free parking place if you come by car. So without any doubt, a 5 star rating! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I was in the restaurant in the evening and ate a beef fillet cooked on a hot stone. It was excellent, more than 5 stars for the meat. The French fries and local olives were also highly recommended. The staff was friendly and helpful. I'd be happy to return.

Wie waren zur Mittagszeit Vorort. Wir wurden mit außerordentlichen guten Service begrüßt. Es gibt täglich wechselnde Gerichte und saisonalen frischen Fisch. Außerdem gibt es einen Pizzaofen. Das Essen war sehr lecker. Gut gewürzt und auf dem Punkt gegart. Anbei ein Foto der Gemüse Pizza. Couvert ist durchschnittlich lecker und bepreist. Getränke sind Fair bepreist. Es gib viele verschiedene teure Weine.

Wir waren zwei mal hier. Bestellt haben wir die Empfehlung des Hauses. Gegrillte Brasse für zwei Personen mit Kartoffeln und Gemüse. Köstlich! Das Personal hat gerne den Fisch filetiert. Er war dann grätenfrei. Das zweite Mal aßen wir Cataplana, den köstlichen Fischeintopf der Algarve mit Fisch, Muscheln, Scampi, viel Gemüse und Kartoffeln. Ein wahrer Genuss. Zum Dessert dann hervorragende selbstgemachte Tarte der Algarve und Orangenpudding. Das Personal sehr nett und aufmerksam. Schade, dass wir nach Hause fahren!

Wir waren 1 Woche mit Halbpension in einem Hotel in der Nähe. Das Abendessen wurde uns als Menü im Restaurant angeboten. Essen sehr sehr gut und lecker 😋 nur zu eintönig für Halbpension. Vor allem wenn man ein oder zwei Wochen Halbpension hat. Service sehr freundlich und bemüht. Ambiente sauber aber nicht so ansprechend, bisschen Kantinencharakter. Die Speisekarte sieht sehr gut aus. Preis/Leistung sehr gut. Allerdings haben wir ja nicht von der Speisekarte ausgesucht 😂. Eine Woche Hähnchen 🍗 und Pommes ohne Ende 🤣. Fischliebhaber kommen aber gut auf ihre Kosten. Es gibt jeden Tag Fisch und natürlich Hähnchen 🙈😂.

Preis-Leistung top, sehr nette Bedienung, uns hat alles gut geschmeckt. Das Menü ist sehr überschaubar, dafür aber scheinbar von guter Qualität. Die Speisekarte gibt es in vielen verschiedenen Sprachen. Vor der Bestellung wird frischer Fisch präsentiert, in unserem Fall zum Beispiel große Doraden für zwei Personen. Es wird recht laut Musik gespielt, die besten Pophits der letzten 40 Jahre. Für uns war es aber okay. Als Nachtisch gibt es leider nur ungenießbare Fertigprodukte von Nestlé, das ist schade. Hier sollten wenigstens ein paar hausgemachte Alternativen angeboten werden.

What a fabulous restaurant. Me and my mum became regulars whilst on holiday 2 years running, and this remains our favourite place to eat. The food was always delicious, and portions were super generous. The service was wonderful, with all the waiting staff being super friendly and accommodating. The Portuguese steak was our favourite… Would definitely recommend!

Con antojo de sardinas, y buscándolas por la zona, leímos las reseñas de este restaurante, y allí nos plantamos un domingo, a las 2 de la tarde y sin reserva. Todo un acierto. El local es muy amplio, fresco, y con un ambiente tranquilo. El personal muy atento y rápido. Las sardinas, enormes y deliciosas. Muy ricos también los otros dos platos que pedimos.

El salón es amplio y bien decorado, un detalle que me gustó es que las mesas tenían bastante espacio entre ellas por lo que invitaba a tener más intimidad entre comensales. Un 10 al vino tinto de la casa.. Muy rico y servido a temperatura ambiente, algo templado para mi gusto pero respeto que según dicen, así es como se toma esa clase de vino. Pedimos carnes variadas a la brasa... Muy sabrosa.

The attentive boss, he has an eye for everything, very attentive to his customers, the same for the very friendly service... well done. The menu is simple and the dishes served are of very good quality. The “daily” offerings are nice and often “rustic” dishes well cooked in the old fashioned way. Good quality wines. There is a bar that is “a little” hidden but is worth the detour. The boss loves to organize “events”. You just have to ask. There is plenty of space and large tables will be comfortable. In short, the Valverde restaurant along the road leading to Luz is an address where it is good to stop a little or a lot...

Great restaurant with a nice atmosphere. The staff is very friendly. Fresh seafood and meat. I recommend the fresh seabass. There’s a lot of parking space (and free). The restaurant is very clean and well maintained. The restaurant is also accessible with a wheelchair.

We had an amazing dinner and the staff were fantastic, warm and welcoming. The food was impeccable, delicious ,and i will recommend steak on the stone because meat was fresh and i had vegetables on the side was perfect .The atmosphere was convivial and inviting. Grilled sardines. Amazing and so tasty. Simple, unpretentious food in a lovely spacious restaurant. They're obviously passionate about what they do. They gave us tips on the most efficient way to get the meat off a sardine. Easy when you know how. Lovely, friendly service. If you're staying in Luz, they're definitely worth a visit.

Amazing food, great prices and the friendliest staff. We visited on several nights on our holiday and we were never disappointed. Between the four of us we would order a meal each plus a salad. Steak was cooked to perfection, salad was so fresh and tasty. Their “steak on the stone” was really delicious and an experience. Authentic dishes like “Portuguese Steak” are on the menu plus there are always specials. Would highly recommend.

En vacances à Lagos,Nous avons dinés en famille ce soir dans ce sympathique restaurant decouvert par hasard sur le chemin retour de la plage . Les avis nous donnés envie d'y aller et pas de regret.Service au top et personnel tres agréable ( avec un serveur qui a fait leffort de parler francais ). Tres bon rapport qualité ,prix avec mention plus Pour le Caipirinha.Je recommande.

Super Service, sehr gutes Essen (wir hatten frischen Fisch). Beim nächsten Aufenthalt in der Gegend, kommen wir auf jeden Fall wieder hier her.

Wir waren in einer kleinen Gruppe dort, fast allein und wurden sehr herzlich empfangen und bedient. Die meisten von uns hatten Rinderfilet vom heißen Stein und waren von der Fleischqualität sehr begeistert. Ich hatte Octopus aus dem Ofen mit Süßkartoffeln und ganzen Risoleekartoffeln in viel Olivenöl und Knoblauch. Das Gericht war wirklich sehr gut und der Octopus sehr zart. Dazu ein gemischter Salat und ein recht guter roter Hauswein (trocken). Ich war völlig zufrieden. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Senza dubbio, ho avuto l'onore di provare il miglior branzino e il miglior calamaro in Portogallo. La freschezza e il sapore straordinario di questi piatti erano un'esperienza culinaria senza eguali. Il personale del ristorante era altamente attento e gentile, persino al punto di sostituire i piatti e chiederci se volessimo posate pulite, una premura che raramente si trova altrove. Inoltre, il proprietario si dimostrava costantemente sollecito, assicurandosi che tutto fosse di nostro gradimento. Per coronare il tutto, offrivano ai clienti un servizio di trasporto in città, il che è un vero plus considerando che il ristorante è situato appena fuori dal centro cittadino. Un'esperienza culinaria eccezionale in un ambiente altrettanto straordinario.

Wir leben seit 5 Jahren in Lagos und waren gestern zum ersten Mal dort. Mein Steak vom „heißen Stein“ war seit Jahren das beste Fleisch !! Zudem ein sehr freundlicher und schneller Service. Das Valverde wird jetzt regelmäßig besucht…..

Wir sind richtig begeistert von dem leckeren Essen und vor allem dem frischen Fisch. Wir kommen gerne wieder! Ein richtig guter Tipp wenn man nicht der Typ ist der reservieren möchte und einfach mal spontan essen gehen will. Hier bekommt man sicher einen Platz! Richtig nettes Personal.

Just had the most awesome meal. Staff are so friendly and welcoming, so much fun and banter. So far I've tried the piri piri chicken which was really tasty, the octopus which was delicious and tonight, has to be the best steak I've had in Portugal! Asked for veggies instead of chips and instead of the usual veggie garnish, had a whole plateful. My new favourite restaurant far. €185 for people. Couverts, steaks all round, 2 bottles wine, 2 bottles water, 1 liquor and 4 plain coffees.

Saímos da Praia da Luz em direcção a Lagos e parámos por acaso neste restaurante, a comida é fantástica, os Mexilhões ao Vinho Branco de entrada estavam divinais e o Arroz de Tamboril estava simplesmente delicioso, é um prato do dia ao Domingo, a relação preço/qualidade muito boa, staff super atencioso, altamente recomendado!

This is such great place where to go have good meal, come out and with feeling to return once again. Tasty food ,defenition, satisfaction in any plate. I've experience two in two time and is one spot to keep as great meal cooking.

Wir haben das Valverde zufällig entdeckt und waren heute das 3.x dort. Wer solide, üppige Hausmannskost mag, wird diesen Gasthof lieben. Ob Pizza, Seebarsch für 2 Personen, Medaillons in Pfeffersosss oder Fleischspiess mit Garnelen uns hat es immer ausgezeichnet geschmeckt. Besonders mögen wir die authentische Freundlichkeit des Serviceteams, das ohne aufgesetztes Dauergrinsen einen guten Job macht. DANKE!

Today myself and my grandson booked to go and try the Val Verde's latest offering. They are doing a Sunday Lunch Buffet and we thought it was really, really good. It was their first day and there were some things that they will improve with experience, as it is a totally different offering from usual, from a buffet trolley. The main thing for us, was the quality of their meat. They had Pork, Lamb, Chicken and Spare Ribs. I only had Lamb and Pork and it was cooked to perfection, great quality meat. Fantastic. Paolo is, as ever, the perfect host. Always a funny anecdote and laughter all round. His staff are customer focused and look after the customers very well. We both enjoyed our first Buffet experience at Val Verde, and without a doubt, we will be back. Thank you Paolo and team, very much.

We had a wonderful experience at Valverde! Luminița looked after us and was fantastic she took the time to explain everything and made sure we felt well taken care of. The food was absolutely delicious, and the atmosphere was warm and pleasant. Highly recommend!

Wonderfully friendly staff and great with our 5 year old. Fresh fish brought out to look at before choosing. Portuguese steak dish was incredible. Overall a wonderful atmosphere and great value too!

Comemos sardinhas, robalo e pizza. Estava tudo muito saboroso. O peixe estava muito fresco e grelhado no ponto. A sangria tinta estava, também, muito boa. Já fomos três vezes e iremos repetir certamente.

Llegamos para cenar por casualidad porque nos quedaba cerca del alojamiento con un perro, no servían en la terraza pero fueron muy amables al dejarnos cenar dentro con el. Pedimos pulpo, calamar , langostinos y mousse de chocolate . Todo estaba bastante rico y precio acorde . El personal agradable , sobretodo la chica que nos atendió .

Ich war das erstemal da, meine Begleitung war schon zweimal da. Wir wurden freundlich begrüsst und wir durften auswählen an welchen freien Tisch wir uns setzen wollten. Die Bedingungen war sehr zuvorkommend und freundlich. Ich möchte an dieser Stelle die freundliche Mitarbeiterin hervorheben. Das Essen war gut … das einzige wo ich sagen kann : piri piri ist für mich scharf und ich habe sogar sehr scharf bestellt - leider war es nicht einmal leicht scharf. Da ich müde war ( war mein Ankunfstag nach einer langen Anreise nach Portugal) habe ich nichts gesagt ( gehe davon aus, das sie versucht hätten es in Ordnung zu bringen). Das Essen war sonst gut und heiss/warm. Der Avocado/ Mozzarella/ Tomaten Salat war traumhaft und appetitlich angerichtet. Etwas möchte oder muss Ich erwähnen: die Einfahrt zum Restaurant ist etwas abenteuerlich - jedoch machbar!

Everyone who knows me, knows I love this restaurant. I am back to give you more information that will help you decide to give it a try. They will fillet any fish you choose (except sardines of course!!) Removing all bones so they are easier to eat. Fantastic for us bone haters. Also, if you want a bowl of chopped salad rather than a small plate with salad items laid on it, ask for an Algarvian Mixed Salad. It was delicious. Portions huge, service great, ambiance laid back. Still my favourite eatery .... simply the best.

Comida deliciosa, atendimento incrível e muito bom ambiente. Pedimos "Pizza" e "Naco na Pedra". Acabou por ficar mais caro pela carne, mas valeu a pena!

A comida estava bem confecionada e o serviço foi medio. Valores caros para aquilo que oferece, no entanto por esta praia os valores sao super elevados para o tipo de comida apresentada.

Das Essen war vorzüglich! Es wurde Fische des Tages angeboten. Die Goldbrasse war perfekt zubereitet und wurde am Tisch filtert.Dazu gab es frisches Marktgemüse in Butter . Ein Genuss...das Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir kommen gerne wieder!!!!!

Heerlijk gegeten met enkele andere vakantiegangers van de camping. Tafel extra wordt erbij gezet en vervolgens hebben we er heerlijk en gezellig gegeten. Goede kok/ fijne bediening.

We went for Dinner, Friday evening. This was all 'OK'. No more, no less. Service was fine until the dismissive attitude at the end with the bill. Food (Portuguese steak x 2) was nice and hot but very salty and somewhat over processed taste. House Red wine was nice. Ordinary Coke instead of Diet Pepsi was 'OK'. Prices were 'OK' too. It felt like a fair restaurant for Tourists near the holiday town of Luz. Small menu cooked by numbers to not displease anyone. No rice or beans, just chips and salad. Portuguese cooking is fantastic, flavourful and exciting - just not here.

I had a lovely dining experience at Restaurante Valverde! The atmosphere was relaxed and inviting, with a warm and friendly staff. The menu offered a good selection of dishes, and everything I tried was delicious. I particularly enjoyed the sirloin steak. Overall, I would highly recommend Restaurante Valverde for a casual and enjoyable dining experience.

Das Restaurant liegt etwas außerhalb von Luz, gut erreichbar mit dem Auto, Parkplatz direkt am Restaurant . Das Ambiente ist ein wenig spartanisch aber die freundliche Begrüßung und der freundliche Service wiegen das wieder auf. Wir hatten ein sehr leckeres Abendessen bestehend aus Portugese Steak und Chicken Kebak. Toll präsentiert, große Portion und sehr schmackhaft. Am Anfang war es ziemlich leer aber dann sehr gut besucht. Der Hauswein hat auch gut geschmeckt. Toilette war sehr sauber. Kann ich empfehlen, gutes Preis-Leistung Verhältnis.

Na minha opinião é um restaurante muito bom e o espaço é acolhedor, porem acho que os preços são um pouco elevados.

Finalmente un ristorante tipico portoghese con prezzi giusti. Per trovarlo ne abbiamo girati parecchi perché tutta la zona fa menù che a me sembrano appositi per gli inglesi. Credo che per trovare un buon rapporto qualità prezzo occorra prendere l auto e allontanarsi dal centro di Luz e di Lagos. Qui abbiamo mangiato le sardine, dei calamari e la bistecca portoghese, inoltre c e il vino della casa e dolci fatti in casa. Porzioni adeguate medio/abbondanti. Servizio buono anche se i tempi sono sempre portoghesi.. il pane si paga a parte e lo portano con le olive a prezzi onesti. Ci ritorneremo.

NON prendete l'acqua (Ve la servono dal rubinetto e costa 3 euro, vi farà lievitare il prezzo in modo insensato). Per il resto il cibo è okay. Il posto è più turistico di quanto si pensi, quindi se volete qualcosa di più "local" andate da un'altra parte. Cibo in ogni caso buono e di qualità, porzioni giuste.

De ontvangst leek erg welkom, evenals de bediening. Echter wordt je met verhaaltjes in een richting geduwd, die achteraf niet voldoen aan je wensen. Zo werden wij richting Bacalhaõ de Nata geduwd. Deze niet-verse en erg gezoute vis, (helaas niet vermeld), was bedolven onder blokjes aardappel. Daarbij werd dan een droge en grofgesneden sla geserveerd. Daarentegen was de Dorade met groenten erg lekker. Toen we echter patat in plaats van gekookte aardappels wilden hebben, kregen we één of ander verhaal te horen dat de patat vandaag niet lekker zou zijn...¿? en we beter de gekookte aardappels konden nemen. Terwijl voor andere gasten de ene na de andere schotel met patat werd geserveerd. Terwijl wij nog bezig waren aan het voorgerecht, werd dit bijna van tafel geplukt omdat de keuken al zover was met onze hoofdgerechten. We hebben maar geen nagerecht genomen.

Uit nieuwsgierigheid bestelde ik een Portugese steak. Die was heerlijk. Restaurant ligt op loopafstand van een camping.

Honest Review - a little hit and miss. We have been here a few times, and would continue to go back as the food is good and reasonably priced. However we have received mixed level in terms of service, we have had some great service and some not so good particularly with staff that struggle to speak Portuguese or English. We have also been there once when there was a Karoke night being set up and the noise that the person made setting up [Dropping microphones, testing speakers with static] really did not make it pleasant whilst eating our meal and trying to have a conversation. However the food is always good, and this is why we would continue to return and hope that the staff just improve a little and maybe choose some better music suppliers :)

Der Service stach am meisten raus, Das Ambiente dagegen gefiel uns weniger, Saal ähnliche Räume dementsprechend laut zu kleine 2 Tische um angenehme Essen zu können. Dem entsprechend könnten wir unser Gerichte nicht genussvoll genießen.

The waitress were moving so slow and the service was as slow is well I asked for a Portuguese Steak that’s I asked to be cooked Medium-Well it came Well-Done Also on the top of the steak was meant to be parmham and and fried egg on top There is no parmham instead of that they’ve put bacon and no fried egg I’ve ordered salmon the portions were horridly small and no veg was included in the meal so we’ve asked for veg. The veg that’s they brought were old and boiled it I’m sure that the carrots were frozen as there was rubbery,the veg was lukewarm It was overpriced for the size of the portions. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND IT AT ALL

Vriendelijk personeel, eten zeer matig, prijs kwaliteit niet op orde voor Portugese begrippen. Een tafel met zeer luidruchtige Engelsen die als enigen genoten van de karaoke verpesten de sfeer voor alle andere gasten. Dit moet je als restaurant niet willen, zo jaag potentiële klanten de deur uit. Voor ons de laatste keer

Не первый раз хожу в этот ресторан и всегда все было хорошо, сегодня просто ужас, обслуживание на 2 просил старт оливки, масло, паштет, хлеб. В итоге принесли только оливки и хлеб, когда я напомнил что нужно ещё масло и паштет принесли только масло. В итоге паштет не принесли вообще. Заказали мясо на камне и порция была на столько маленькая что я после обеда поехал в соседнее кафе и заказал ещё гамбургер. Моя жена всегда очень мало есть и как правило после ее обеда ещё остаётся половина тарелки еды и в этот раз жена все съела и осталась голодной. Я не очень понимаю что случилось или ресторан испортился или сейчас много туристов и ресторан пытается заработать деньги. Но это очень плохая схема Туристы после сентября уедут а местные жители останутся.

Fui hoje lá para jantar e uma funcionária de longe abandonou a cabeça , (a perguntar quantas pessoas eram) depois faz um gesto com a cabeça a indicar o sítio para sentar. Muito mau mesmo… falta de educação.

Well what can I say…. Firstly make sure you check your bill. We were over charged by €90. Not a cheeky €5 or €10 that might not have got noticed but a ridiculous amount!! One of the kids chicken and chips was so hard we couldn’t cut into it! The Piri Piri chicken was a joke. It was 3 small bits of chicken no Piri to talk of. Not all bad. Fish (seabass)was ok. Pizza you can’t really get that wrong. But being charged €265.00 that should’ve been €170 is an absolute liberty!!! Will never go again to get ripped off please check your bills.

Worst Experience in Praia da Luz and Lagos My family of four had lunch here today, and it was incredibly disappointing. We ordered grilled meat on a stone, and the pieces served to us were grayish/purple, which did not seem and taste fresh at all. Meanwhile, the meat served to the table next to us shortly after was bright red and looked completely different from ours. The worst part, however, was discovering at the end of the meal that the lemon slices in my and my mother’s water were moldy and mushy on one side. When we pointed this out to the waiter, he acknowledged the issue and promised to check with the kitchen. However, after we paid, there was no follow-up or apology from the restaurant. When we tried to find the waiter who promised us feedback, he redirected us to another staff member, who seemed to barely understand English and gave a vague, insincere apology. We were extremely disappointed with how the restaurant handled this situation and with the overall quality of the food. Even though the dishes ordered by the other two members of our family (grilled pork tenderloin with mushroom sauce) tasted decent—just slightly dry—but drinking water with an old, moldy lemon slice was absolutely appalling and has left a lasting negative impression.

Infelizmente foi uma experiência horrível! A salada estava congelada e a picanha estava PODRE !! Os empregados de mesa a quem pedíamos as bebidas não eram os mesmos a trazê-las e o problema disto é que não vinha o que foi pedido. A sangria inicialmente estava super doce e depois estava aguada, não se percebe qual a competência de quem fez.

Geen aanrader, we bestelde aperitief en kreeg eerst mijn soep. Moest dan zelf vragen achter ons drinken. Zeiden ze nog 3 minuten wachten. Eten kwam dan vrij snel terwijl we nog aan het aperitieven waren. Eten zat geen smaak in . Komen hier nooit meer terug dikke tegenvaller 😮‍💨
