This is a wonderful French restaurant! It's their new location, which has the space for them to make it as beautiful as they want and it does not disappoint. It almost feels as if you were inside a French restaurant. Pleasant, warm atmosphere with matching asthetics and wines along the wall. Its also a rather large space, so even though it has more of a dinner date vibe, you could also comfortably fit larger groups. The food was absolutely delicious. We tried a variety of items, including the patte, tuna tar tar, and escargot for our appetizers. For our mains, we had the steak frites, almond trout, and French omelet. Everything was cooked to perfection, the focus was on the meats without heavy bread to accompany anything. The sauces were flavorful and the variety of texturess (such as the crunch to accompany the soft meat) was a perfect match. We also tried a couple cocktails which were pleasant with good flavor pairing and nice alcohol. Service was attentive and friendly, who gave good recommendations and had answers to our questions. We were checked on frequently enough and items were cleared at a timely manner as to not crowd the table. It was a lovely experience and I would highly recommend it as a nice date spot or even a special occasion gathering with friends/family!
The food was absolutely excellent, every dish was bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. The environment is super cozy, almost like being transported to a charming café in France with its thoughtful décor and inviting atmosphere.
This place absolutely delivers. The burger is insanely good, honestly, it barely qualifies as a burger. It’s deeply French, swimming in this rich, beautiful sauce (no idea what it is, but I don’t need to know), and it’s one of those dishes you think about after you leave. The steak frites is just as impressive. The steak doesn’t even taste like a “normal” steak in the best way. Perfectly cooked, clearly finished with a generous amount of butter, and ridiculously flavorful. Service was excellent; attentive without hovering; and the drink program is solid. Definitely get a martini, or explore the wine list; there are some great options. If you want classic French comfort food done right, this is a must.
The food is so delicious that it made up for the mediocre cocktails. We had the Petit Trois Martini and the house Old Fashioned. Both were quite sweet for our taste. But the food…The FOOD is incredible. Had the butter lettuce salad (yummiest dressing ever) steak frites and duck confit. Both dishes were so flavorful, perfectly cooked and balanced. Obviously Ludo Lefevre knows what he’s doing. My only note is that the bar should be up to the same level as the food. It should be cleaned more often and the bartender could’ve been more helpful.
We got the lemon pasta, duck confit, and the Big Mec which was the burger. The duck confit is very flavorful and has a strong duck taste. The burger was also great come with a fries and sauce on the plate. The baguette tasted great with butter but nothing special. The we got a crème brulee which is a large desert that can be shared with. I used the reservation from open table and no problem with the process.
We are a fan of Chef Ludo, came to his events in 2016 at the LA branch, again in 2019. This time we checked out the Valley branch and it didn't disappoint. We waited for about 15 minutes to be seated, it's Friday night and the place is buzzing. Our server Sierra is the best server, very helpful, bubbly and knowledgeable of tree menu. She guided us with our selections and it was perfect: Endive Salad (10/10 the walnut complements the endive so well), Crab Cake (10/10 it's not the typical lumpy bready kind, it has amazing texture), Escargot (10/10 make sure you have extra baguette to mop up the garlicky sauce), French onion soup (9/10, the broth is a bit too sweet for my taste, probably a bit of sherry or cognac would kick it up a notch), Filet mignon au poivre (8/10, the sauce is a bit too overpowering), Duck confit (9/10) and the star of the evening - Big Mec burger (11/10). Yes, burger in a French restaurant! The bordelaise sauce is amazing, the wagyu beef, the brioche, it's perfect temperature, perfect everything. I will drive 2 hours from the OC for this burger. We top off with chocolate souffle which has the sweet and bitter chocolate taste. Good luck Chef with the new restaurant opening in Aspen. I'm forever grateful with you showing us how to prepare your famous French omelet (which is on the menu BTW).
We had a lovely meal. There was some confusion on the reservation but it was smoothed over with a glass of champagne. My husband had the escargot and the steak fritttes, one of the best meals he's had in a long time. I had the crab cake, only one but lots of crab and the mussels. The preparation of the mussels was delicious but the mussels were extremely small. My husband had the apple tart for dessert. The service was nice and it wasn't too loud in the restaurant. We will go back again.
Amazing French restaurant. Loved everything in the menu. The vibe of the place is perfect and the service was top notch. Everything came out and tasted so good. The cocktails were incredible too and overall we just had a wonderful experience. Would recommend to try if you are craving a classic French date night out.
If you’re looking for a taste of Paris without booking a flight, Petit Trois is your golden ticket. Tucked away in Los Angeles, this intimate French bistro by chef Ludo Lefebvre delivers bold, nostalgic flavors with a modern edge—and somehow makes dining at the counter feel like a fine-dining experience. From the moment you walk in, you’re enveloped by the aroma of sizzling butter and garlic, the clatter of pans, and the casual French chatter from the open kitchen. The space is tight and buzzing, evoking a classic Parisian café. No reservations, no frills—just good food and atmosphere done right. The menu is a masterclass in French comfort food. The omelette is legendary for a reason: soft, custardy eggs filled with Boursin cheese and topped with chives. It’s so simple, it’s genius. The Big Mec burger is unapologetically decadent—loaded with foie gras and bordelaise sauce, it’s a carnivore’s dream that still somehow feels refined. And don’t sleep on the escargots or the steak frites, which strike the perfect balance between rustic and elevated. Service is friendly but brisk, fitting the bistro’s high-energy vibe. The wine list leans French, with plenty of solid options by the glass, and the cocktails are classic and well-executed.
Great place. Steak frite was delicious! So was the pesto pasta. The leeks starter was cold (not as good as the warm one I had in Paris). Friendly staff, absolutely wonderful seating hostess, and young man at the valet. I would definitely go back.
The staff were incredibly friendly! The food was pretty damn good too. However, the French fries tasted exactly like perfectly made McDonalds fries which isn't necesaarily ad thing but that's not the association anyone wants when going to a nice resturant.
I dined at Le Petit Trois recently and had a mixed but overall good experience. The almondine trout was excellent. The service was also very good. However, I wouldn’t recommend the crab appetizer, as it fell short in both taste and execution compared to the rest of the dishes. Still, the trout alone makes the visit worthwhile.
Went here after an exploring the Getty Museum and there was a bit of a wait despite having a reservation. Make sure to check if you're reserving an indoor table because those fill up quickly and you could be left with an outdoor seating. Our server, Ashley, is nice and attentive. We started off with the baguette which was delicious and the butter that came with it as well. The mussels were cooked with a decent white sauce though a bit tiny and pricy for what was offered. Big Mec is the signature dish of the restaurant and after tasting it, I can see why it's popular on social media! Steak frites was average and I wish the sides were more varied especially since the mussels also came with fries. Having a veggie option would complement and balance many dishes in my opinion. Sadly, there was no more space for dessert but we may try it next time!
We went to Petit Trois le Valley to celebrate a birthday. When we got there at 7pm on a Wednesday the place was completely full. You’ll want to make a reservation you don’t want to risk not being seated during peak hours. All of the food we got was really good and filling. The Chicken Liver Mousse really surprised us with the amount they gave you as well as how tasty it was. They definitely don’t cheap out and make sure to you get enough! Valet parking is available behind the restaurant for $15 if you don’t want to bother with street parking.
I went there for my birthday celebration. It’s the first time that I want to tried going back to taste western style steak after for so many years that I only eat Asian style. I am convinced that this restaurant will definitely know how to cook a good steak. I saw the review and the pictures. Cut it short, the services and atmosphere is amazing. These 2 things save the review. Salad is good even though I’m not a vegetable eater but it’s very refreshing. Other than that, it’s not worth it. Chicken liver is nice but the filling is too much that just half pieces is enough. The only thing that I’m hoping is the steak has to be well cooked. The sauce is not bad. I ordered medium rare, it’s come out medium and almost done. The meat is tough and I literally just ate less than half of it and left. Not worth it. I’m not even thinking about “to go” even if got so many leftover.
A fairly average experience that would be expected from a standard business. Food was normal. Staff was nice. Atmosphere probably would have been a little nicer at night. Nothing stood out as extraordinary. Charging $17 valet to let a handicapped person park in the handicap spot the restaurant has doesn’t seem right. Plenty of metered parking during the day. Wouldn’t bother with valet except maybe for dinner.
This was my first time visiting Petit Trois, and I was really excited to try it. The food itself was good, and our server was kind once we were helped, but the service overall was much slower than expected. It took about 20 minutes just to get water, and the host actually came over to take our drink order before our server ever reached the table. Our main entrées didn’t arrive until nearly an hour later. While we enjoyed the food, I would have expected faster service or at least some communication around the delay. A bit of a bummer given how much I was looking forward to the experience.
Atmosphere is fun and well decorated. It was crowded and vibrant. Appetizers are good. Baguette fresh and warm. Entrees are a different story - ordered the steak and frites and the chicken. Both salty - the meat was tender but salty and couldn’t eat the chicken salty and an overwhelming amount of herbs! Service: good and bad. Staff seem nice however they overcharged us on alcohol and dessert and if we didn’t check while paying, we would have paid $$$ more. Always check the bill! Quality vs Cost is disappointing! $49 for a chicken I couldn’t eat. I think the chef can do better on entrees as the appetizers were more balanced! Not sure that we will be back - hopefully they fix the couple of issues.
This was not as good as the original location. The onion soup tasted much different than what im used to. The bread is always good! Goat cheese salad was just okay. The duck confit was well made, that was the best part of our meal. The trout was overly dressed with beans & almonds. The steak was nothing special. Service was great! A little disappointed but at least I got to go to the original location before it closed.
