Lived in Simi for about 20 years and El Zarape has to be the best Mexican food out here. Tastes real and fresh, also has vegan options

Food is literally made to order. Great tasting, the asada had great taste. Handmade huarache and pupusas. Loved it here the chef definitely knows how to get down.

The food is very good and the sevice excellent. I really recommend eating here.

This place is awesome they have sales on all the burritos after 8pm. Tacos are great, burritos and I even tried their pupusas and they where awesome. I definitely recommend this place!

Finally got a chance to try this place. Was not disappointed. The owner works the register & Was really helpful. Gave us a quik breakdown of what was what. Prices are reasonable & portions are solid. Food was great. The Quesadillas are bomb. Nachos were on point.

I have been LOOKING for some really good mexican tacos out here because I just moved here. After trying 4 places, I found this place and got 5 chorizo tacos and man they were so good and the box it came in was just loaded with cilantro and onion on the top of the tacos. Very good place for street tacos. Just wish it came with lime but there was 2 little cups of salsa Verde and regular salsa and that on the tacos was really good and the chorizo was so flavorful and seasoned, I will definitely come back.

This place is awesome! Group of 4 of us came for indoor seating, ready to critique the place, as we are trying to find our favorite Mexican spot. We were given more chips and salsa on request AND free refills, which is a make it or break it thing for all of us. Very polite staff, spoke great English and brought us exactly what we asked for. It will be a difficult choice between here and El Taquiero Jalisco 3, which has been our favorite spot for quite some time.

Truly a Homemade food. I ordered a Menudo the best one ever. My friend ordered the best dish called The Zarape Dish (Chef signature dish). This the Real Deal Mexican restaurant. I am here on vacation and I will drive back just to eat here. High recommend.

We've only been twice but both times were amazing!

Good food and large portions, but very very expensive. No atmosphere, not needed. Staff are great and helpful. Clean.

Went to taco Tuesday. The tacos we're great and only a dollar each. We ate there and ordered 15 more to have in our fridge.

Really lovely little restaurant in a couple corner of a shopping center. Quaint, owned and operated by a very friendly Latino couple. Decently sized portion, but a little pricey. Good food, and they have soups throughout the week, which is great in colder weather.

Had a carnitas burrito. It was decent. Rice was old and undercooked. Agua Fresca was good. Not bad.

Terrible service. Guy working the register moves so slow and doesn’t pay attention. Took over 5 minutes to order 2 things. The whole store looks dirty and when he finished taking my order he sat down in a booth with some other guy and just started drinking. Crazy he’s just working drunk and it’s okay.

Food was complete garbage. It was way overpriced for what we received. The meat was dry and hard. I had to spit several pieces out. I would not recommend and will definitely never order from here again.

I returned, asking for the second taco, which owner replied I only ordered one. Since the overhead display menu does no show prices, I picked up a copy of dinning room menu from the stack on the counter, listing prices, pointed to the advertised price of the beef stew. The owner pointed and drew my attention on opposite page "prices subject to change without notice," commenting menu is two years old - the correct prices are on take out menu. Unfortunately, this does not meet my expectations when overhead display does not list prices, the stack of menu's are outdated, and true pricing unknown unless customer ask for take-out menu. I buy for others, spending about $160.00 per week, $640.00 per month, and continue to buying and patronizing my other established restaurants who wall and restaurant menus with accurate pricing. If Zarape adopts this policy, I'll be glad to return - answering the question "what does it take to establish a repeat customer?"
