We had Mike H as our server and he walked us through the menu and gave highlights to popular menu items and drink suggestions and we went with his suggestions. OH MY GOSH! We have been to the best restaurants in town and this is a top contender. The pork chop changed our lives and the cannolis were to die for. Mike was so attentive and informative to us as first timers we will be back for the food and the staff. Romey was also so fun! Thank you for the experience we cannot wait to come back.
We visited this new Italian restaurant for the first time on Thanksgiving, and it was a fantastic experience! We were so grateful they were graciously open for the holiday and offering a full Thanksgiving buffet. The amount of food alone was impressive, but the quality made it truly memorable. Although the restaurant is Italian, the buffet was filled with classic Thanksgiving favorites, and everything we tried was delicious. We especially loved the salads, the charcuterie selection, and the shrimp were so fresh and flavorful. The green beans were exceptional, perfectly seasoned and cooked. The ham was wonderfully tender, and the mustard seed sauce on the side was such a great addition. The short ribs were excellent, and the pecan pie was the perfect finishing touch. The only item that wasn’t a standout was the salmon, which seemed a little dried out, likely from sitting on the buffet line. And while dessert was delightful, I would have loved the option of an espresso or long black instead of the drip coffee. Still enjoyable, but espresso would have made it perfect. Our waitress was incredibly sweet and attentive, making the whole experience feel warm and relaxed. This is exactly what you hope for on a holiday. I’d highly recommend this place and sincerely hope they offer the buffet again next Thanksgiving. We’ll definitely be back well before then to try their actual menu. We left completely satisfied!
We had Dinner Saturday evening for our 10th Anniversary, Our server Mike was fantastic and knowledgeable. The food was amazing! We started our meal with the crab cakes. Which were cooked to perfection, seasond just right and melted in your mouth. For our main course; I had the Lobster Tortelloni and my husband had the Walleye. The Lobster Tortelloni was swet and succulent and melted in your mouth. The walley was cooked to perfection and served on a bed of diced root vegetables and asparagus. All of which were seasoned and cooked perfectly. For dessert I had the Tiramisu and my husband had the Cannoli. Each dessert was heaven! Mike took the time to take some photos for us at the end of our meal! Thank you for an amazing experience!
Great atmosphere and prices for the food! I didn’t know what to expect and was impressed with the food, service, and beautiful atmosphere. Mike was our server and he made the experience so great and checked on us often and got our food ordered right away. The food was so good, I got the pepperoni and sausage pizza which I felt like had a nice amount of sauce and cheese and didn’t feel very greasy which I was relieved by. The portions are so big too so I had so much leftover afterwards and the pizza alone could be shared by 2-3 people. The cannolis and cheesecake were delicious and also in such big portions that they could also easily be shared by 2 people. I will definitely be back and look forward to trying more of their menu.
Crunchy salad was a surprise in a good way, tomato artichoke bisque (may if not be the best we've had). Menu, ironically, was typical Italy...basic, hiding unbelievable taste and experience behind every option. Pork chop was phenomenal, ravioli the same! Excited to try the rest. Going with the steak and braised pasta next.
Date night was a success thanks to cascata. Romey is a must have for your server. She gave us excellent recommendations and 20 star service. The steak was the best ive had in Sioux falls. Drinks were definitely on point. Nice atmosphere
The food is so well prepared with the freshest ingredients especially the seafood and the vegetables. The server Mike was great in his service attitude and attendance . Thanks for bringing us a very delightful evening!
Went to Cascata for their inaugural wine dinner. The chef out did himself. The 5 courses paired so well with the wine. The best wine dinner I’ve done in the greater Sioux Falls area. Will definitely be returning in the future. Also, their burger battle for January 2026 is top notch. Would definitely order it a second time.
Food and service were excellent! Mike did a fantastic job explaining the menu and his recommendations! Over the decor and overall modern atmosphere of the restaurant! Highly recommend to anyone needing a date night!
Truly impressed. …down to the drinks, food, and atmosphere, …EVERYTHING was absolutely PERFECT. Sarah is easily one of the best servers we have ever had…. If you haven't yet, give this place a try. So WORTH IT. Will definitely be back.
We went for my mom’s birthday and it was an amazing experience. Our server was so helpful and we took all of her suggestions! I would definitely recommend going here. The food was amazing and the atmosphere was quiet (we did go at 530 pm) and relaxing.
My husband and I got the pork chop, risotto, and cheesecake. We agreed that it was probably the best pork chop we’ve ever had. Mike, our waiter, was so knowledgeable and attentive. We will definitely be back!!
We had the fungi pizza as an app which was phenomenal. The romana salad was also very good, just needed a bit more dressing. I loved my duroc pork chop. My wife got lobster tortellini, which was also tasty, just making lacking salt a bit. Had vibes of a good seafood chowder. Get the cannolis for desert, so good. Overall great experience, would definitely come back for some pizza. What a fun addition to downtown Sioux Falls.
Top Notch bar with the best staff! Let Willow and James fight over who can serve you the best cocktail!! Jordan keeps everyone taken care of in the best way! If you are looking for a great place to hang out come to Cascata!!
Fantastic food, cocktails and service. Had the mojito, steel side cocktail, pork chop with peach glaze, lobster tortelloni, and lemon berry cheesecake. All amazing. We will definitely come back.
Food and service is great! Mike was really knowledgeable and led us thru a dining experience. Amaro Old Fashioned was outstanding!
Been here a few times during my stays in Sioux Falls. Never had a bad meal or bad service. Atmosphere looks nice too!
Great date night! Service was fantastic! Food was great!! New hot spot for Sioux Falls!!
Delicious food and even better service. Our waiter was very good however the General Manager, Sean, made the experience even better. Very knowledgeable and made excellent recommendations. I’ll definitely be back!
Such a lovely space for lunch. Great service, attentive staff. Loved that the atmosphere was quiet enough to have a conversation without feeling like you have to yell.
Kirstin was a terrific server. She went above and beyond in helping us with the burger battle menu. We had great food and greater service. Drinks were delicious too.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely Incredible Experience at Cascata! Cascata exceeded every expectation! From start to finish, the experience was nothing short of amazing. The food was absolutely phenomenal—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Every dish we tried was bursting with flavor, clearly made with care and top-quality ingredients. What made our evening even more memorable was our wonderful waitress, Stephanie. She was warm, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. Her recommendations were spot-on, and she made us feel welcome and taken care of without ever being intrusive. She truly elevated the entire dining experience. If you’re looking for a place that delivers both outstanding cuisine and exceptional service, Cascata is it. We can’t wait to come back!
Stopped in for Brunch before departing the hotel and so glad we did! The food was phenomenal! The brioche French Toast and the Lemon Ricotta pancakes were delicious. The Sourdough smoked salmon was 10/10! The only negative thing was the service was a little slow and it took awhile to get our food considering there were only a handful of tables sat.
Recently came by and tried the short rib Pappardelle. It was amazing. I loved the flavors. My server Romey also made the experience better with her knowledge on the menu and her great personality. Overall great experience
ROMEY was the best server and made excellent suggestions… spot on! I ended up taking two desserts home.! So good! And…. Every plate was served hot- filet and all sides were hot and sizzling. Amazing.
The food here is amazing and the service was even better. Brittanie was our server and took excellent care of us! We had a group of 15 people for lunch and she was not only exceedingly pleasant but attentive and efficient as well. Thank you for a wonderful holiday team lunch!
Mike was our waiter and provided excellent service. Food was delicious. Steak was cooked perfectly. Desserts were delicious (cheesecake and salted caramel gelato). We'll 100% be back
I’m very picky about places to eat in Sioux Falls. At first I was a bit skeptical about this one as it’s owned by the same as Dahlia (2/10), Ironwood, and Big Sioux Burger. However the food and our exceptional waiter Josh made this experience tremendous for us. We ordered the bread sampler, a filet, NY strip, and crab and shrimp risotto. All were delicious. The garlic butter came with the bread and I recommend it on the steaks.
Romey was an amazing server! She was so well versed and knowledgeable on the menu and was so personable. Really made the experience at Cascata! Food was also so tasty, cannolis were the best!
Our server Romey was the absolute best!!! She was so friendly, knowledgeable of the menu, and made our experience awesome. The food an atmosphere was great. Will definitely be back!
came here for my birthday and the service from Romey was amazing!! she was super friendly, attentive, and gave great recommendations. food and drinks were so good will definitely be back!
After driving over 12 hours, we finally decided to stop for the night at the Hilton Canopy. We checked in around 10:35 PM, only to learn that the hotel lobby kitchen had already closed. The exhaustion and defeat on our faces must have been obvious, because that’s when our server, Sara, stepped in with true kindness. Instead of sending us away, she immediately spoke with Chef Alex, and together they reopened the kitchen just for us. Not only did they prepare food at that late hour, but they served up some of the best flatbread pizzas we’ve ever had. Sara even let us sit and enjoy our meal while she finished closing up and cleaning for the night, never rushing us, only making us feel cared for. We cannot thank Sara and Chef Alex enough for their compassion, hospitality, and incredible food. After such a long day of travel, their kindness turned the night around and reminded us what genuine service is all about. This was above and beyond, and we’ll remember it for a long time.
Cascata is hands down the best restaurant in Sioux falls! The steak and carbonara ravioli are phenomenal, the place is great, and the service (namely Mike) was outstanding. The food and beverage supervisor, Parker, sets a standard that is hard to match. Highly recommended to everyone!
Had a delightful evening with friends that was emphasized even more by the great food and service at Cascata! Stephanie, the server was attentive and informative, as was the entire staff! The food was amazing. I enjoyed the rich and creamy, shrimp and crab risotto! So good! I highly recommend checking this place out whether you're a local or a visitor.
I travel for work several times a year and have as yet not been to Sioux Falls. Stayed at the Canopy by Hilton and ate dinner at Cascata. Ah-mazing Caprese salad to start and the Risotto for dinnet. Service was outstanding and James is a marvelous server. If I lived in the area, I would go back again and again! Bravo! Michell C Middletown, OH
This place is so underrated!! We eat out a lot at very fine dining and this is just right up there with him! The service… The service was phenomenal! Their Manager at night he was fantastic. Our waitress that we had that evening was fantastic. Good luck guys and great great job!!!
My husband and I went for a date night and really enjoyed our experience. Mike, our server, was wonderful and Jordan also did an excellent job helping us with a wine selection. This is now near the top of our list for fine dining in Sioux Falls. We will definitely go again.
Some restaurants serve great food—Cascata does that and more by creating an experience. My friends were in town and wanted a night that felt elevated, memorable, and fun—and Cascata delivered in every way. The vibe, the service, the knowledge, the drinks, the food—every single piece was on point. From the moment we stepped into the bar and were greeted by Malachi, who immediately made us feel welcome, we knew the night was going to be something special. Tess, our server, was an absolute gem—warm, bubbly, incredibly knowledgeable, and spot-on with her wine pairing suggestions. She truly elevated the entire experience. The restaurant was buzzing with energy, full of guests clearly having a great time, and the staff moved effortlessly through it all. Josh, Jesse, and Jordan each stopped by our table to share their expertise on appetizers, desserts, and drinks, which made the experience feel personal and fun. And the cherry on top? Getting to meet Chef Chris! Seeing firsthand the passion behind the food made it easy to understand why Cascata gets so much love. This team doesn’t just serve a meal—they create an experience. At the end of the night, my friends summed it up perfectly: “We can’t get over what a lovely evening it was—just good to be together, with so much to be grateful for.” Thank you to the entire Cascata team for creating a night we’ll truly remember. We will definitely be back!
Enjoyed a great Friday night meal. Everyone was very friendly and knowledgeable. Great selection of delicious meal options and wines. All our selections were their recommendations and it was fantastic. The lemon ricotta cheesecake is a must 👌🏼
We spent the evening here for a birthday. Started off with the mussels which were so delicious served in a tomato garlic butter sauce and with crusty bread. I had the lobster tortellini, others had the pork chop, filet, gnocchi and short rib pasta. Out of everything our least favorite was the short rib pasta. We finished with dessert - ice cream, canolis and bombolini. All desserts were absolutely delicious. Atmosphere was average. Service was kind of poor we had to keep hunting down the server for plates and basic stuff like fresh grated parmesan. Lemon martinis were delicious. Myself and my daughter cost $130 tip included since our party was large. Good experience overall.
Overall, nice dinner place. I wouldn't really call it Italian though, not many pasta dishes. Its more like Italian food, without using pasta. Still good don't get me wrong, just not like what people think of when they think Olive Garden. Desserts were good, the doughnut like dessert was the favorite. Cheesecake was too rich and the texture was slightly off. I think that's the result of the alternative cheese they used instead of cream cheese.
Gave the place a try, started with drinks, the Limonchello martini, and milan mojito. The martini was a little childish with colored sprinkles on the rim but tasted good ... the mojito was good. Had the Mussles for an appetizer... very good flavor some of the best we have had in town, good amount, but for the cost a few more would make it just right. I had the porkchop for my main meal, and my wife had the margarita pizza. The porkchop was very good-sized,and it was properly cooked, and it came with an apricot glaze, mashed potatoes, and some broccoli. Overall, it was a good meal, The pizza my wife had was ok... the crust was good, there was not a lot of flavor to the pizza itself, and they baked the basil with the pizza, so it was charred. Service was promt, nothing extraordinary but not bad at all.
My husband and I had dinner here last night and really enjoyed it! I had the shrimp and crab risotto, which was so fresh and flavorful, the shrimp especially stood out, and the lemon zest gave it a refreshing touch. My husband had the sausage and pepperoni pizza, and it was delicious with a perfectly crunchy homemade crust and a really tasty sauce. The only downsides were that the food did take a little while to come out, and we were bummed to learn that dessert couldn’t be packaged to-go. We would’ve loved to bring home the tiramisu, but they didn’t have containers available. That said, the food itself was excellent, and we’ll definitely be back again!
Went with a party of 6 for a birthday. The cocktails and mocktails are very well crafted. I especially loved the lemon gelato and club soda mocktail, as well as the Blueberry Lemoncello Mule. The grazing plate for 1-2 people was a nice snack for the whole table. Tons of variety and not skimpy on the meats and cheeses. The entrées were lack luster. To be fair everyone at the table got a pasta dish except for one person. The short rib pasta had no flavor whatsoever. The cheese giving nothing for the dish and the short rib being surprisingly unseasoned. The lobster pasta was notably very sweet. With the cream corn flavor over powering the lobster and sauce. The pork chop however was amazingly sweet, tender and hearty. Although the 3 pasta choices left us wanting more, the pork chop makes me hopeful for other menu item's. As for dessert we had the chocolate filled pastries, canollis and the cheese cake. They were all fine, the cheesecake being a weird presentation with too much crust and an unappetizing shape. Not thrilled given the price. Everyone agreed that it's not a place they will be waiting to try again.
Overall, we were pretty underwhelmed. For the food, nothing was necessarily bad, but nothing was great. It seemed like everything needed just a little more oomph to be good. The tiramisu was honestly great—probably one of my favorites in town now. The lobster tortelloni and the pork chop were fine. The pork needed way more sauce and two budding pieces of broccolini felt odd. The bombolini were barely filled with the hazelnut cream (which kind of just tasted like chocolate pudding?) and the dough was very dry/flavorless. The Italian margarita and wine were good. The worst part for us was the service. The host sat us down and filled waters and then we didn't get spoken to for close to 10 minutes. The girl who eventually was our server had walked by our table at least four times and never stopped to even say that she'd be with us when she could. After we ordered, she didn't come back to our table until we had almost finished eating—someone else ran apps and entrees to us. We had been out of drinks for a while which was a bummer. When we ordered desserts, she didn't take our entree plates with her and just left them sitting there? I don't know. The whole experience was weird and underwhelming. I'll probably give it another chance because I want to like it, but it was just an odd experience. One of my least favorite in the Steel District so far.
I took my daughters here, for brunch, on June 14. We were told they would be closing in 15 minutes, so we hurried with ordering. Two french toasts, sandwich, a water with NO ice and two sodas (a prosecco last minute). The waitress brought the sodas right away. After 10 minutes came the empty glasses for the water, but never poured water until well after our meal was served. When I got the tab, I rushed to pay, so I wouldn't hold anybody up (my fault) and then looked at the receipt when I got home, because it was over $140! I couldn't see why it was so expensive, so I called the manager on Monday and explained that I wanted to go over prices. I drove down to talk in person and he said I must have been charged for the unlimited mimosa and refunded me $70. While I am so grateful he was kind enough to do that, nowhere on the receipt did I see mimosa. I will always check my receipt before leaving. The sandwich and fries were good, but no rave reviews on the french toast.
I wanted to like this place but I was fairly underwhelmed. To be fair, it was a blustery, cold night to be out and it was a Tuesday. My date and I split the caprese. I ordered the carbonara and he ordered the short rib pappardelle. It all looked very good on paper but did not translate on our plates. The caprese was the BEST thing but a bit clunky and not enough bread. My carbonara was bland and while I saw chunks of pancetta, I did not get any punch of flavor from that. The short ribs were tender but the ragu was a bit one note as no mushrooms or fine herbs were present in it. It was basically pot roast on top of pasta. We finished the meal with cannoli. It was good. Our server was great. I forgot her name but I remember where she was from in SD. The restaurant is beautiful and offered great views of the holiday lights in falls park. We were seated near a drafty window (remember that cold, blustery night?) so that didn't help. It's probably more fun in the summer and maybe the menu is better then too.
Apparently this is a dog family restaurant. The booth next to us had I think three dogs. One of the dog owners came in through the exit door. Food was good, probably not worth the price. My wife's martini came in a bourbon glass and we saw another table where a lady ordered a margarita which also came in a bourbon glass. Service was great. I don't think the music matched the atmosphere as well
Hmmm....where to begin....short staffed? That was an excuse that was given after so much disappointment..... It all started so well. Got a cozy booth with a great view. And that's where the 'well' ended. Service was s l o w. But, you know, short staffed. Fine. Cocktails were on point. Kudos to the bar staff, the highlight of this disastrous evening. Ooohhh....a cozze antipasta! Delicious! Where's the serving spoon? And where do I put the shells? I put them on the table but my dining companion was disgusted by my behavior. Had to ask for a receptacle for the used shells. Hmph! The grand tasting feast continues. All at once. With the plates from appetizers/salads still on the table? The pasta, primi course according to the menu (I do believe the loose translation from Italian is FIRST and generally involves, get this, just the pasta) shows up at the same time as the fish dish - which one would presume to be secondi (again, loose translation, second)? Maybe Sesame Street failed me when it came to first and second. I digress....No share plate? It was specified that the pasta was going to be shared. Were we supposed to use the bread plates again? What? How? Just done. Box it. Bless her heart, the waitress was a deer in headlights. Yep, pulled a Karen, asked for a manager. Either indifferent or a liar. Still up for debate. Total lip service. Just like I expect the response to this review to be (if at all). Explained the disappointment. Received the following excuses/reasons: 'That's how we do it.' and 'There must have been a misunderstanding." So, which is it? The fish would be "refired"? Would it? Really? Wasteful. Have no fear, lovely human, my diatribe is almost complete. This is rather petty, but sticks in my craw a bit. The grilled bread was a bit over grilled. No worries. Get a little butter on the side. It makes everything better. Ha! It was refrigerator butter. You know, the stuff that has been sitting too long and picked up all the wonderful fridge flavors? Yeah that stuff. Still got charged for it. Even after whining about it. Not particularly concerned about the two bucks on the butter. It is the principle of the matter. This was a last night in town dinner kind of thing, a little big and all out. Ended up being a sad and shriveled shade of an expectation.
There was hair embedded in the pizza dough. It was so bad. The remake took 30 minutes so our party didn't get to eat together. The rest of the food was mid level at best. No apology from management was offered and no charges were removed from the bill.
