I am a regular at this coffee shop every time I’m in Solvang or passing through. This visit my wife got a hot chocolate alongside my usual mocha. Surprisingly I found myself enjoying her hot chocolate even more than my mocha which says a lot about the quality of both drinks! They also offer a few vegan bakery items. We tried the chocolate chip bread which was great – not overly sweet just how we like it. The prices are slightly higher compared to big chain coffee shops with the mocha at ~$6 and both the hot chocolate and cookie at ~$5 each but I am big supporter of independent coffee places and this one has definitely earned our loyalty. They’ve secured a lifelong customer in us
We stopped into Solvang on our way down to San Diego and were looking for a nice pick-me-up. I ended up ordering a maple latte with almond milk as well as a grated grapefruit sugar cookie and a rosemary cheese scone. Absolutely loved the scone, especially with cream cheese! The rosemary gave lovely savory touch to the fluffy cheesy richness. I’ve never had grated grapefruit in a cookie before as was pleasantly surprised at the freshness it gave to the cookie. The latte had a good earthiness to it though the maple was a touch bit too sweet so I’d ask for less next time. Great cozy space with plenty of seating and super friendly employees. They knew a few customers names too which stood out as it always reassuring to see regulars when visiting a new cafe.
We are visiting Solvang for a day and we were told that this place has the best coffee. I’m not a big fan of their coffee, but the Matcha is the best I’ve had. It is very high-quality ceremonial Matcha. you can really taste the Matcha and you can tell it’s a very good quality by the color. They also have a lot of gluten-free options for pastries.
One of the best coffees I’ve ever had. And they’re so so kind. My friend’s wedding weekend, they gave her her drinks for free. Can’t recommend highly enough.
Don't miss a good coffee here! Recommended for coffee enthusiasts and also anyone who wants to try something new at their original coffee take. If you love a grab and go coffee while you're taking a nice stroll around the Solvamg town, take a stop at this place. It's equally good to sit and have a calming cup while you're working on something
What a great little shop. Coffee was delicious, with both a single and blend option for espresso. Staff was super friendly, had all the answers and service was quick. The decor is beautiful, nice wood accents with a good selection of blue and white tiles for a pop of color. If you are lucky, you can sit on the locally hand crafted wood rocking chairs.
It's evident these folks are passionate about what they do and are quick to make you feel like you're right at home at the Good Seed. One individual in particular was super helpful in helping us discover good local wineries worth checking out. We were super appreciative of the time he took to help us make the most out of our stay in Solvang! The coffee was delicious and the cinnamon bun was MASSIVE!! Definitely worth checking out.
Cute little spot right on Mission. One of the best iced lattes I've had, especially since it was decaf. I often order an extra shot to make sure I can taste it but no need on this one. My wife is a coffee snob and she liked it so much she ordered one for herself even though she had already ordered a nitro. Nice barista and very knowledgeable about his brews.
Visited Solvand on a Tuesday...note to self...much of the shops are closed on Tuesdays. However, The Good Ssed became a pleasant and best surprise! I had a pot pie dish that was delicious, in addition to a cranberry scone with orange glazed frosting, which was the ideal blend between sweet and tart for me! For a beverage, I ordered a 16 oz. Iced Chai latte, which also hit the spot. The customer service was so personal. You could tell by the interaction with the two customers in front of me. Highly recommend making the drive to check out the Good Seed! I definitely wanted the sweatshirt they were selling, too!
Stopped in here on our first morning in Solvang. The baristas were super friendly and helpful. The coffee is excellent. Highly recommend the fresh baked cinnamon roll as well.
It's hard to express in words the anticipation and pleasure of visiting a city you've never been to. If you visit such a charming place and taste much more delicious coffee & beer than you think and go sightseeing, it will also be very enjoyable. As I said, most of the cafes they do at Roaster have a good taste of coffee. As soon as I entered this place, I immediately thought that the coffee would taste good. Because the coffee bean type had a grinder and the espresso machine also had a very good machine. The customer service of the barista was good and the interior decoration is very simple and stylish. The cup was also using a good quality cup and the design of the furniture was very good. I drank Medium roasted coffee on Brazil and Guatemalan blended coffee beans with excellent acidity. La marzocco Strada + Malconig EK43 and others I highly recommend this place !!!!
Super cute coffee shop with excellent coffee selections and baked goods. We had the tumeric coffee and the cinnamon roll which was freshly baked with homemade frosting which was delicious! Highly recommend. Cute decorations earthy and natural feeling.
Great little coffee shop. They know how to make specialty drinks for sure. Its hard to find a shop that can. Friendly and attentive. Will definitely return when we are back in the area
Charming little coffee place. Cappuccino is good and smooth. We have their rye walnut bread toasted with vegan butter. Bread is good and soft with bits of walnut and they are a bit crunchy after toasted. Friendly people two!!!
Excellent coffee that is roasted here. The worker was extremely nice and helpful.
Love their coffee. Very polite employee. Must visit place.
Beautiful place with great vibes and super friendly staff :) Great coffee and delicious pastries (small yet pretty unique variety). The avocado toast was very good. The breads are amazing!
We enjoyed the hot vanilla lattes and a shortbread cookie. Very relaxed atmosphere and dog friendly!
**Excellent coffee!** I ordered a latte, and it was absolutely perfect — the milk was frothed to a smooth, silky consistency, and the temperature was just right. If you love coffee and find yourself in Solvsang, this is *the* place for you.
I'm not sure why it's difficult for people to make a good lavender latte -- some people put so much syrup that it kills the flavor and others put almost none that I can't even tell that the latte is supposed to have any flavor other than coffee. Good Seed Coffee does not have this problem because their lavender latte was one of the best I have ever had (and I drink more lattes than I'd like to admit). Other than mastering the craft of making the perfect drink, the atmosphere of this coffee shop was quiet, friendly and very much about community. I stopped by on a roadtrip from LA to Big Sur and was so impressed that even though it's out of my way on the way back, I'm going to make sure to add it to my route. The staff was friendly, they had the best coffee in Solvang, and they even had gluten free and dairy free pastry options for those of us with dietary restrictions. Everything tasted absolutely homemade and was so delicious. I was so impressed and can't wait to go back!
Easy 5-Star rating for me. The coffees were delicious. The biscuit was delectable. It was so good that I want to go back and buy some mercy to represent. I came on my first visit to Solvang and when my wife and I come back - we know which coffee place to hit before walking around. Really couldn’t ask for more in a coffee shop. Nice service, thoughtful coffee and food/treat options and great vibe.
Great coffee. I ordered latte and it was awesome! Plenty of parking space nearby
There are so many great things to say about this coffee shop. The coffee is delicious, the monkey bread is to die for, and the crew are so kind! We’ve been here now for a week and feel like locals. Not to mention they are super helpful with recommendations around town and beyond. Their chai is perfect!!!
My favorite coffee or tea place when in Solvang. I always visit the Boutique and plan to sit down and relax. The service is amazing, soothing and professionally friendly. Their coffee and tea menu are worth trying every single one, to then come back to your favorite. They have Herbal tea options for the days I avoid caffeine. I truly love it. I hope your experience is as amazing and/or better than mine. One last note, there isn’t a lot of food items for my lactose restrictions but they few they have are good but not good enough for me to buy it again since I needed a lot of coffee and water to try to balance the strong flavor. I’ll update once I revisit the Boutique and take a picture of the item with the name.
Dedication to Coffee excellence. From the equipment to the beans to the skilled barista, they do it all well. Hats off to Mason, our barista at a recent visit, who took the time to explain the nuances of a mushroom-based beverage while he concocted an excellent latte and more. They produce a clean barely filtered coffee with all the flavors and essential oils intact using a Trifecta Coffee geeks will love it The place has a clean funky design that is pleasant enough, if somewhat sparse.. extra points for the outside part of the café covered by a copious Wisteria that, when in bloom, is delightful (late spring early mid summer
I liked the coffee. The staff were really nice. And also the atmosphere was great.
A Fresh brew coffee cup by cup. The roast of the coffee is medium and smells like a cacao beans (Americano). Additionally with the selection of pastry which could combine with the coffee. Even though the store is quite busy, it is worth the wait.

I love their matcha buch!! Matcha is really good and very pure. Also very doggie friendly. They even offered a water bowl for my doggie <3

Friendly staff, authentic atmosphere, and a beautiful surrounding area. Plenty of nearby parking within walking distance. Loved that they offer reduced-fat milk, and the coffee was absolutely amazing!
so fantastic. felt so taken care of by the barista on shift...incredibly friendly demeanor. cortado was perfectly executed. great extraction on the espresso (the roast was a little bright, but thats just personal preference) and the milk foam was smooth and up to perfect temp. also, love to see art on cortados; it can be a huge challenge so it really says a lot about the skill of the barista. love this place!!!!!! highly recommend.

There was a Hallmark-esque movie filmed in Solvang a while back where the main romantic interest promised the big-city heroine (who thought Solvang was just a tourist trap) that he would show her “the real Solvang.” It’s been a few years of coming here, and I must confess: I am still searching for this so-called "real Solvang". However Good Seed Coffee Boutique might be the closest you’ll ever get… that, and the Wednesday farmers market. Best coffee you can get in Solvang.
It’s one of those days that you need a sip of hot coffee midday Sunday. Good Seed Coffee Boutique is a charming little coffee shop in the heart of Solvang. They offer a welcoming smile, competitive price and good coffee. Their menu has a modest collection of coffee (hot/cold) and pasties. I came to try their Flat White (s). And it was good. Staff and service was phenomenal. Design and layout were minimal and spacious, respectively. They sell merch and tumblers for visitors. Overall, this is one of the best and popular local coffee in the area.
Such a cute little coffee shop with a cozy vibe! My husband ordered the dark hot chocolate, which was semi-sweet and rich — definitely for those who prefer something less sweet. If you're more into sweeter hot chocolate, I’d recommend going for the original version instead. I also tried the Monkey Bar since I’ve heard great things about it. While the flavor was nice, it was a bit too dry for my taste — I had to keep sipping my chai just to wash it down. Overall, the drinks were really good, and I’m definitely curious to come back and try more of their menu!

The food here is not good. We got the scrambled egg bowl it’s very bland, def ask for the siracha. And the caprese toast is a very thick bread with lots of sauce. The espresso coffee is very good, abut the trifecta is not very good. Look at how light and see-through the coffee is. If you come here just stick to espresso and baked goods.
I was checking out Solvang and decided to get a Matcha here while I was out and it tasted like milk with a hint of matcha. The tea my sister in law got tasted like mint water. Overall I found this place overpriced, the drink sizes are really small for how much you are paying and neither of us ended up enjoying our drinks. The service was good but my review is so low because of the poor value and disappointing drinks. Also they double charged my card because their tap wasn’t working, but it was. Would not recommend.
