This place serves fantastic food. I had the daily special, the Philly cheese steak. The meat was tender and had good flavor. The fondue was just the right amount of cheese. The side salad was perfectly lightly dressed and had fresh greens. The bread of course was good too, not too chewy or tough.
Bob’s Well Bread always hits the spot! Delicious eggs and sweet pastries. They are even dog friendly. I brought my puppy with me and all the servers were beyond nice to her!
We Came in hungry and left very happy. We got a breakfast sandwich, huevos rancheros, almond croissant, and a Snickerdoodle cookie. If there’s a line, I recommend getting the pastry to hold you over while they make your food. We waited in a long line, but the food came out quickly. Even though they were extremely busy most of the times we went in there, the staff was very helpful and did not rush us in anyway. Huevos rancheros were our favorite item. And the almond croissant is not a must—it’s a necessity!
This bakery is a must stop for breakfast lovers! The food and bakery products are very good and well made. Pleasant outdoor seating, and just very good food and at a pretty good price for the quality. Its a little expensive but not to bad for a weekend out or get away meal. Pleasant staff, would God back. We went twice!
Not likely you'll ever just happen to drive through town on your way to someplace because you are on 101. But this place should make you take that exit and stop to enjoy a fantastic meal. The star of the show here is bread. Perfect caramelized crusts and textured interiors. We got there early for the breakfast and to sample the croissants and pastries. All goodness. And great coffee too. Take the exit, you won't be disappointed.
An absolute gem of a bakery in a small town. Phenomenal breakfast spot in Los Alamos. Every single food item we got was made from high quality ingredients and cooked to perfection. You cannot go wrong choosing between ordering a biscuit or a croissant, trust me, they’re both amazing. The Salmon Lox spread was great from its presentation to the flavors of each ingredient. Really enjoyed their everything bagel. The all star of the morning was definitely the Egg in a Frame #2. The toasted, but fluffy bread was something I’ve never eaten before. It’s called Pain de Mie and it was a delightful piece of toast. The eggs and bacon absolutely hit the savory spot for me. Flavor was exploding from each bacon bit. Just a wonderful breakfast experience at this spot. Highly recommend getting there no later than 8:30am because it will get busy fast. Will be back!
Wow! I had no idea what to expect when we pulled up. So glad we stopped in! The food was absolutely fantastic (the menu has a great variety and something for everyone). There was plenty of seating inside and out. Plenty of parking out front. Only drawback is that it might be a bit tight for wheel chairs on the inside.
Love this place for brunch. Had the breakfast sandwich and a sticky bun which were both good. I do think the sticky buns are a bit dry, but it was still very tasty. All things considered together, I really like this place and will be coming back as often as I can. The food is very nice and the staff is very friendly. I'd say the only real demerit on this place is that it gets so busy that the line to order fills up most of the inside of the cafe and makes it uncomfortably crowded if you're trying to eat inside.
We first saw this place when featured by Westways, AAA magazine. Went to see it yesterday and had the pistachio and butter croissants, also the pretzel. All are wow!!! We came back for more today but the pistachio croissants are all gone. We bought the chocolate almond croissant. Oh so good too! Pistachio croissants will still be my favorite.
We enjoyed our little stop over while charging the car. Bought croissant and sourdough loaf of bread. Cashier and this other Individual (perhaps owner or owner like great attitude) serve people with smile. Clean restroom. Plenty of sitting options. Another customer spoke highly of all breads they make. I recommend this place.
Bob’s Well Bread is one of those rare places that manages to feel both like a small-town bakery and a world-class destination at the same time. The pastries are on another level entirely. The pistachio croissant is already a masterpiece, but when you add chocolate to it, it becomes something unforgettable. The savory side is just as strong, the ham and cheese croissant is perfectly balanced, flaky, and indulgent without being heavy. Seasonal fruit pastries showcase what’s fresh and local, and every loaf of bread is treated like an art form. Organic flour, sea salt, filtered water, extended fermentation, and a radiant stone hearth deck oven, this is the stuff serious bakers obsess over, and you can taste the difference in every bite. Breakfast and lunch both deliver, whether you want to sit in and enjoy the warm atmosphere or take something on the road. Signing up for their newsletter is smart if you want the inside scoop on special events, like their wine tastings, which pair naturally with their food. And if you’re heading out for your own wine country picnic, picking up a bag of their bread and pastries is the right move. The whole experience is infused with care, precision, and what really does feel like love. If you’re lucky, you might run into Bob himself, whose attention to detail is the quiet engine behind everything that makes this bakery so good. Bob’s Well Bread is absolutely a must-stop before or after wine tasting, but honestly, it’s worth planning a trip just for this place.
Great place to stop for a bite to eat while headed north. Wanted to try this place a year ago but it was closed. So glad I finally got a chance to try it. The food here is really well done. Ingredients are fresh and the breas/pastries were top notch. Lots of outdoor seating and great staff.
Great place for simple but high quality breakfast lunch coffee and baked goods in the lovely little town of Los Alamos. MacReeves said don’t fret the long line which moves pretty efficiently if it’s not out the door. We got a levain loaf to go, and ate brunch there on the lovely rustic patio under the trees. Started with dessert bc why not. Apple kouign amann, so buttery and caramelly, and chocolate almond croissant crispy and flaky but paltry on almond filling, plus coffees. Next our entrees came out pretty quickly: lardon and creme fraiche sauced mushroom medley on biscuit with a poached egg, and eggs Benedict on house made English muffin. Pretty good but both dishes needed seasoning, and there was nary a salt shaker or pepper grinder in sight. My only other complaint would be for the food to come out hot, as room temp eggs aren’t appealing. Overall though, what a nice way to spend an hour in wine country on a gorgeous spring day with your loved one and happy ppl and doggoes all around.
Delicious delicious delicious. It's counter service and line management could use some work but the pastries, and breakfast were fresh, unique, colorful and delicious. My matcha latte was undrinkable and quickly overshadowed by the eggs in a jar and ricotta toast! Those two items were easily 10/10 and would come back just for these!
Walked in to order some coffee and a Danish. Place is really small and was extremely crowded at the door. Unfortunately, the register is in front of the entrance so it is hard to get in and out. The place looks clean but with it being jammed pack with tables and chairs as soon as you open their door, I could not tell that well. Bakery had little to choose from but with what I did order, which was cold, was delicious. The latte was done to my liking. The cashier was not that friendly, he didn't smile much. It was an early morning and maybe it is not always crowded. The outside area is nicely manicured. Would love to return when not so crowded to give place a second chance.
Delicious bread and sadly not so good coffee. How is it that a great bakery can’t make a good cappuccino? Had the egg toast #1 which was tasty but found the single egg portion left something to be desired. Otherwise very friendly service and a nice chill atmosphere. All in all would definitely come back for the bread and pastries. Maybe next time I’ll just have a tea.
This café is truly a hidden treasure. We stopped in for a weekday brunch and overall had a really pleasant visit. The staff was not unfriendly, but the welcome felt a little neutral rather than warm and enthusiastic. It did not ruin the experience, just something we noticed. We chose to sit on the patio next to the café, which was such a charming little space. They also have additional outdoor seating that looked equally inviting. The wait for our food was pretty standard, which we appreciated. I ordered the ham and cheese croissant. It was served at room temperature since it had been prepared earlier in the day. They did not mention warming it up, and I did not think to ask, but I probably will next time because it would have made a big difference. I felt similarly about the glazed pastry, which also would have benefited from being heated. That said, my wife ordered the Egg in a Jar and we were both completely obsessed. It was easily the highlight of our visit and honestly the reason we plan on returning. The items that are served fresh seem to really shine. I am still thinking about that dish a week later. Overall, we would give it four stars. The room temperature pastries were a bit of a letdown, but the adorable patio and the incredible Egg in a Jar definitely won us over enough to come back again.
we ate there with a friend who is allergic to tree nuts. While ordering, we asked if there was any tree nuts in the food we were ordering and was assured there was none though there may be trace amounts from baking. Our friend ate the first pastry, and hazelnuts were a main ingredient and he suffered an allergic reaction. Please be careful when eating their food!!
