Buzzo has, by far, the best pizza in the area. I'm in love with the Truffle Mushroom and the Gorgonzola, Date, Caramelized Onion pizzas (those aren't the names, but they'll know which ones you mean). Either call the order in, or stop in first before going next door to Beer Thirty. They'll text you when it's ready. You can take it home or bring it back over to BT and have another pint. :) The people that work at Buzzo are friendly and the service is fantastic (don't forget to tip them). They have a lovely patio, if you'd like to dine in and enjoy other tasty morsels off the menu. Go there! Cheers!

Great place to get some pizza. Servers are nice and so is chef. Arugula salad and potato pizza are very good. We also tried the margherita, which is very good too. The pizza is a thin crust, and cooked in a wood fire right in front of you.

If you want incredible pizza in Santa Cruz don’t waste your time anywhere else. Buzzo is without a doubt the best pizza I’ve had since coming to Santa Cruz. Get the Buzzo Bianco maybe even two of them you won’t be disappointed. The house staff matches their quality of food with fantastic service. My first-time at Buzzo's. Arrugala saled was plentiful and tasty with sliced radishes, strawberries and whole almonds. Mushroom pizza (12-inch) had great crust, plenty of flavorful mushrooms and the right amount of cheese. I will be returning for other menu items to try.

Pizza is excellent here! Pasta and Caesar salad were big enough portions to share and were equally delicious! When checking out the pizza oven, I noticed the food prep area was as large as the dining room. The chefs gotta love cooking in this kitchen! It was designed by the owner, and all I can say is I was impressed and I will be back.

THE BEST! I’ve been to Buzzo 4 times at this point because their pizza is the best in Santa Cruz (in my opinion as a New Englander). The atmosphere is lively but also somehow relaxed and the side salads are GREAT too. Also I don’t feel like I’ve gone into debt when I’ve gone which keeps us coming back.

Went today before the restaurant opened and the staff was so gracious, bringing out menus and water for me and my friend. I can't eat tomatoes, so it was great to see so many alternative pizza options and interesting salads on the menu. We ordered ice cold tap IPAs and the Gorgonzola pizza with cheese, dates, caramelized onion and more. Delicious! The service was attentive and friendly. It was a hot day so we sat in the spacious outdoor seating area. I was very pleased with the experience and the meal and can't wait to go back and try more from the menu!

Super nice little pizza place after a long road trip. The service was fast and friendly, and the food was outstanding! I really enjoyed the special pizza with squash and a white sauce. I wish there was more than one pasta option, though. The patio is dog very dog friendly, and was nice except for the fact that the table was a little wobbly.

Buzzo has become a staple in our take out/dine out rotation. The carbonara is my absolute favorite, highly recommend this spot!

We tried Buzzo on the recommendation of a friend, and we'll definitely be back! We hadn't made reservations, so sat outside under what looked like heat lamps, although they're hanging too high to provide any warmth ( we'll be eating inside next trip!) The beet,avocado salad was delicious! Just the perfect flavor combination. We also had the fried green beans which were done perfectly, the batter light and expertly fried. The margherita pizza was one of the best I've had, locally for sure; great crust, just the right amount of sauce and excellent quality mozzarella. We'll be making reservations and heading back soon!

Our first time at Buzzo was long over due, but it was worth the wait! We brought our 14 month old along with friends and their 16 month old and everyone including the kids loved the food and the vibes. The staff was accommodating, friendly and efficient and the food was absolutely delicious. We will be back soon!

What a great place all together! Food was amazing - my husband is Italian and he’s very particular about his pizza. He loved the appetizers, pizzas, and dessert we ordered and that’s a big deal! The mushroom truffle pizza is out of this world delicious. We are definitely going back!

We had the pepperoni pizza and it was delicious… we also had the Ceasar salad and the meatballs and I would order again and again. Tried the Charlie pizza and burrata appetizer. The pizza is excellent - best I've found in the area. The crust is crispy and airy but tender inside. Sauce is simple and good and the toppings are top quality. The burrata is served with oven dried tomatoes and fry bread, and is just outstanding. Nice job!

Out go to pizza experience on the east side. Surprisingly easy to get a table probably cause a lot of the pizza gets eaten in beer 30. Appetizers are pretty awesome too. The potato pizza is an all timer. The pepperoni is delicious and surpisingly interesting . Also fun to sit at the high table near the oven and watch the crew toss, assemble and bake the pies. Expensive but worth it.

The arugula salad and the margherita pizza was the best we’ve ever had. The atmosphere was so wonderful, and our service was good. They seemed to be short staffed with servers, but we were just enjoying a relaxing evening. The browned butter gelato was the perfect finish. We will be back for sure!

For a Tuesday night around 7:15 PM, this place was busy but maybe understaffed? We were seated right away but then waited almost 20 min for waters to be brought to our table. Once we got those, we placed our order for drinks, a salad and two pizzas. It took about another 10 min for our drinks to come but after that, things moved a little quicker. Overall the food was incredible and once we were served our server was kind… but overall it was just subpar on serving time. I think they could have benefited from another server or even just someone to bus tables.

This is a wonderful pizza place with a unique menu. The potato pizza is actually quite good! I have never heard of that before coming here. Their Mushroom pizza is very good. Their artichoke hearts are also phenomenal. Their pizza is cooked in a wood fired oven from what I can tell and the crust is thin and crispy. Their Caesar salad is great as well. I was very happy with the food they served my family and I.

It’s hard to pinpoint whether it stemmed from the service itself or the overall atmosphere, but the warmth and friendliness we often appreciate in a dining experience felt somewhat absent. For our mains, we ordered The Charlie Pizza and The Jenkins Pizza. The Charlie Pizza was, unfortunately, far too salty. A touch of saltiness can enhance flavor, but in this case, it overpowered the dish and made it difficult to enjoy. The Jenkins Pizza, featuring jalapeños for a bit of spice, was fine but lacked any particularly memorable or distinctive character. The highlight of the meal, however, came in the form of the appetizer: Arancini. These crispy, golden risotto balls, served with a parmesan sauce and leek oil, were exceptional. The contrast of the crunchy exterior and creamy risotto center, paired with the rich and aromatic sauces, was superb — easily redeeming the shortcomings of the pizzas we ordered. Very good overall. Pizza is consistently to my liking - thin bubbly crust, not too heavy on the toppings. If you love Oak & Rye, Del Poppolo, Manresa, Bantam then this is closer to those than not. Excellent Caesar salad, and the fried appetizer (usually green beans or cauliflower) is always spot on. I’m not huge on dessert, especially brownies, but the brown butter gelato, and the brownie a la mode, are worth eating. And the service is always friendly. February 2026 - still going strong. Caesar remains one of the best three in town. My new favorite pizza here is the Nduja; have had Nduja pizza elsewhere but the combination of the black olives and arrested onions works very very well.

Very good overall. Pizza is consistently to my liking - thin bubbly crust, not too heavy on the toppings. If you love Oak & Rye, Del Poppolo, Manresa, Bantam then this is closer to those than not. Excellent Caesar salad, and the fried appetizer (usually green beans or cauliflower) is always spot on. I’m not huge on dessert, especially brownies, but the brown butter gelato, and the brownie a la mode, are worth eating. And the service is always friendly.

This is a wonderful pizza place with a unique menu. The potato pizza is actually quite good! I have never heard of that before coming here. Their Mushroom pizza is very good. Their artichoke hearts are also phenomenal. Their pizza is cooked in a wood fired oven from what I can tell and the crust is thin and crispy. Their Caesar salad is great as well. I was very happy with the food they served my family and I.

The Caesar salad and crispy green beans were on point. Margarita and sausage pizzas were wonderful. BUT the service still needs some work - I’ll definitely go back, I realize they opened recently and need to do some fine tuning.

I recently dined at Buzzo and unfortunately, the service left much to be desired. Our food was served considerably late, and to make matters worse, our order was forgotten. The waiter seemed overwhelmed, leading to a frustrating dining experience. I hope the management takes steps to improve their service and avoid such issues in the future.

When the crispy cauliflower appetizer and the bourbon cake deserts are the highlight of the dining experience, it doesn’t say much for the pizza. I am a fan of thin crust pizza, but sadly the crust on our pizza was just too soggy, with the toppings sliding off. Have to admit that the pesto sauce and the mushroom toppings were tasty, if only they were on a nicer crust. Also, our tab had an unexpected service charge, with no explanation. It will be a while before we return, since there are many other options in the area.

Let me start with the toppings were fresh and tasty albeit honestly to much due to fact I ordered multiple toppings. The dough was fresh However it tasted like charcoal from oven being to hot. Went early as well before they we're busy,very disappointing

The atmosphere wasn't particularly nice, but that may be because we were seated at what's probably the worst seat in the house - right next to the entry way at the bar, right next to the bathrooms, and right next to the access way to the kitchen/behind the bar. The pizza was good - the crust was nice and chewy, but if you're not into white sauce or pineapple the selection becomes somewhat limited. I had the Nduja, which was good. The vegetarian person in my party had the Margherita since it's the only red sauce vegetarian pizza without pineapple - it was okay, but we've had much better elsewhere.

I was hoping for a tasty pizza, being a firewood pizza. The pizza turned out to be very disappointing, the dough was very chewy, every bite was a struggle. My kids love pizza and anything with pepperoni and cheese, but they also struggle with the pizza crust. The topping were very tasty and had a good balance, too bad the pizza crust was disappointing to really enjoy it.

I called three times tonight and it rang off the hook. The website does not have specialty pizza ingredient list or descriptions. I will try to taste the food again when I’m back in town.
