Our group of ten, all enjoyed the service, delicious food and ambiance of this resturant. Our server was excellent providing us with great recommendations. There is a seperate area for pizza, which was busy while we ate in the main, more formal dining area.
Excellent food! We sat our front. Fun watching the world go by, but a bit noisy.
Great food and great service. Huge food portions!! The hot antipasto is basically a meal by itself. You will have leftovers lol
Out of all the Michelangelo pizzerias, this one easily has the nicest dining section. It also has a regular section to casually eat pizza in, and some great outdoor seating with views of main Street.
Great local restaurant. One of the few that is still open off season. Nice selection of Italian food. Excellent location at the very center of Southold.
Very generous portions and great menu. Enjoyed the outdoor dining even though a little noisy from the traffic.
Excellent service, absolutely delicious food. Fresh bread, tasty homemade salad dressing, very large portions. Yum!
Delicious. Generous (huge) portions and good food. Dining room could use some updating and reupholstering, but who really cares?
The food was delicious and the pacing of the different dishes was perfect for an extended family dinner.
Food is great! Best Penne alla Vodka around. Highly recommend the place. One thing to NOTE that took me by surprise, they have a 3.99% surcharge on Credit Card charges. BRING CASH!
Great food and and awesome atmosphere. I have been coming here since they opened and they have always provided top notch service. I couldn't say anything bad about the place.
The food was delicious, the menu was not overwhelming, and we had enough variety for everyone. Chicken cordon bleu was delicious!!!!
Great pizza with crispy crust. The Sicilian was perfect in that the top was cheesy, the bread was soft and doughy, and the crust was crispy.
This is my go to place for take out or dine in when we don't feel like cooking. Always consistent, fresh, delicious with large portions enough for two meals
This establishment has two sides. A pizza counter and an attached restaurant. I have only ever been to the to-go pizza side, but I go every chance I get. The specialty pizzas I’ve had here are the best I have had anywhere. I especially recommend the Chicken Bacon Ranch. Their plain pie is excellent as well. You cannot go wrong ordering any kind of pizza here, but be warned, you’ll be back the next day for more.
Excellent, authentic NY pizza. The staff are personable and accommodating. The dining room atmosphere is well designed. Great vegetarian options.
Visited Michelangelo and we were not disappointed. The pizza is delicious and you have to try the Brooklyn hot hero. It was amazing!
Wonderful family atmosphere and family - run Italian food. Great pizza and more sophisticated fare, too. Tony and Amy, who run the place, will take great care of you whether it is just you at the bar or your family of 12! I highly recommend.
Good Italian food in a clean pleasant atmosphere. The music was easy listening, enjoyable and not too loud and the food was delicious. The bread and salad before the meal was also tasty. Will be returning again in the future.
Enjoyed every moment being there. Food was excellent and the server was very attentive. I’m from New Jersey and was a guest of my family who live in Peconic.
Gorgonzola salad slice was great! Also had fried calamari, baked clams and chicken cutlet parm, also very good. I come from Brooklyn and I gotta say food was delicious. Of course we brought home food because the portions were very generous. Every bit of it went, down to the bread and side salad. The mox of greens they use for the salads is out of this world. They also have an amazing selection of pizza with all kinds of toppings. I would definitely go back again whenever I am in South Fork.
I have eaten here many times. The staff is always friendly and attentive. The food is always good. They are more than willing to accomadate special requests. Brian at the bar is friendly and makes great drinks!! Looking forward to returning soon!
Great local Italian restaurant that is family owned. . Delicious food and service. Very friendly atmosphere. Wide assortment of pizzas to go. We have also ordered trays of food for our larger parties.
Stopped here for pizza and it was great. Lots of tasty options. Looks fancy from outside - because it is - but you can run in and grab slices like a regular pizza joint.
Great Italian food. We were part of a big party celebrating the long life of a wonderful woman. Everything was served buffet style, but the quality was top notch. The eggplant parmesean was absolutely delicious, the meatballs were perfect and the garlic knots were done just right! The two chicken entress were also well prepared and tasty. The hard cider was from Ireland and was the perfect liquid refreshment! We definitely eat here again! They also do pizza!
Their chicken piccata with artichokes is the best I've ever had! Brought friends from out of town just to taste this amazing dish! Delicious!
Brought an entire baseball team of 20, they were so helpful and patient. Food and prices were amazing
Michelangelo's offers good value and wide variety. Pro tip, if you order before closing, they sometimes give you extra slices of pizza!
Excellent all around. We walked in w/o a reservation and they seated us almost immediately! Food was excellent. I'd highly recommend stopping hear for meals. I'll be back!!
It’s a bit of a noisy neighborhood pizzeria, I like to sit outside Love the pizza and prefer it to the snobby pizza places elsewhere
Both a take away pizzeria and an Italian restaurant. They have pizza and sandwiches food was great, so was the service. The prices were reasonable for both take away and to sit down. They were kid friendly. You can eat outside in the front, the patio has enough of a barrier so you don't feel like you are eating in the street. I did not est inside but the bar and seating seemed fine.
The restaurant section is gorgeous! I had a little birthday dinner here to meet with my family and ordered a few pies. The white pie is delicious, along with the garlic knots! Definitely worth a stop, to-stay or to-go.
Not just a great pizza place. Their sit-down service features pasta and other Italian food, chicken, veal, seafood, and classic antipasti dishes.
Great place stopped by on the fly visiting Southold and grabbed some slices all delicious and reasonably priced for a north fork nice eating establishment. Would definitely reccomend. Passed the night before and place was packed on a weekday night.
We just had a wonderful end of season bowling luncheon at the southhold location. The food was fabulous and the owner Anthony and Heidi made it extra special for all of us. 5 star all around.
These people are nice ❤️❤️❤️ can’t wait to see them again
Best pizza on the north fork imo. Food is always reliable and ready quickly for take out.
Michaelangelos is an excellent restaurant with great food, service, and waitresses. Try the eggplant parm or chicken franchaise. I am a cook and aware of food and taste. So I enjoy this restaurant. A local restaurant that is not into “designer” food. The pizza is delicious. Stay away on big weekends, as it gets busy.
Great Italian food restaurant worth visiting if you're heading out to eastern Long Island. Food and atmosphere are great, and never have any complaints about the dishes. Sometimes gets very busy so service can be a bit delayed, but if you're looking to relax and have a nice meal, this is the place. Specials are always great as well and there is plenty of parking. Clams oreganta and calamari arrabiata appetizers are excellent, worth trying. Will keep returning!
I like this place a lot. The people there are friendly and actually very creative with their slices. Upside down Sicilian is really good. I didn't take a picture of that but should have! I've never eaten in the restaurant side. It does look very nice as well though so rest assured you would be comfortable.
Great pizza place for a quick slice.
Always love their places. Consistent with their food and service. Bar is always a plus. The menu is perfect for all diets.
The food is so good and there grandma pie is off the hook the chicken pram dinner is huge with a side of pasta and a salad and they have the best Vinaigrette dressing
A great pizza find on LIs North Fork.
Place was very nice. Food was yummy and came out fast. Wish there was a little more separation between the bar and dining area. A woman was literally screaming at the bar for about 5min. Kind of killed the mood. Overall the place was great, good service and good food.
Food tasted really good but took forever even though there was hardly anyone there. Large portions made the prices reasonable.
Pizza take out was good. But they should have moved the bar closer to the entrance. You have to walk through the entire dining room to get to it. It would have been nice to sit and have a quick beer at the bar while waiting for the takeout pizza.
Good food. Big portions. But... They did not accept the gift cards I got because something was wrong with the system and manager was not there....well... It was the whole idea to go there because of those gift cards... You can do better guys...
The food is not to bad the service of nice little slow but ok the unique think they need to teach better the busgirls , she try to serve to us 1 bottle of acqua panna already open and 3/4 of the bottle Anyway we will give a 2nd chance
Really great pizza. The other dishes, pastas, and entrees are tasty too but the pizza is really superb. We like the Shrimp Parm from Michelangelo’s. Definitely one of our favorite restaurants in Southold.
The food is always good and most of the service was great, especially the two young men bussing tables and making sure everyone in had water and anything else we might need. They were always so kind and helpful. Unfortunately, the hostess was having a really bad day and made everyone feel like they were a nuisance just being seated. Our waitress was great, but busy and asked the hostess to deliver red pepper to our table and I was shocked how annoyed she was to help out. Other than that it was great and we'll be back again.
Typical American-Italian fare. Good cocktails, good wine list. Spacious, softly lit dining room with eat-at bar option. Outdoor seating. Popular with locals. Food is variable - mozzarella sticks basic, pasta dishes done well. Salad and bread included. Portions on the mains were enormous, literally enough for three meals. Pizza takeout on site too, great reputation on the pizza.
Great grandma's pizza, but the quality is inconsistent.
We've made several visits here while visiting the area. The food, service and atmosphere are constantly good. This visit we enjoyed eggplant parmesan, eggplant rotini, and spaghetti with meatballs. The red sauce is excellent on all of these plates. The bread basket and included salad were very good as well. We recomnended.
This review only applies to the dining room. Food was kinda bland. It was all prepared very nicely and cooked perfectly, just kinda light in the seasoning. Prices were on the higher side but worth the portions and service given. Dining room was clean and employees were polite. Restrooms are clean too. Definitely will be back to try again! More flavor
Local favorite. Traditional Italian Food a.nd value generally good, especially for North Fork.
This Long Island Italian restaurant was a spontaneous stop after a fishing trip. The service was solid, and the food arrived fast. I ordered classic spaghetti and meatballs with a side of sausage. The pasta was perfectly cooked, and the meatballs were huge. The sausage was tasty, but I was too stuffed to finish it. The calamari appetizer was also well-prepared. Prices were reasonable for Long Island, New York. If you're craving Italian, it's a solid choice.
On a sunny day last week (June), a friend and I dropped by for slices of delish pepperoni pizzas .... however, I also couldn't resist trying one of their garlic knots that I enjoyed even more! The place's outdoor seating area is also pleasant with its many colorful pot plants & flowers.
The interior of the building was nice. The waitress took a little long to get our orders. The calamari was really tender and the marinara sauces were perfectly made. The chicken parmesan was really good to. They also made extremely delicious bread rolls. The portion sizes are also exactly what I wanted.
Went for lunch today ( Sunday) but was disappointed to find that they would only open the restaurant at 4pm although Google working hours state all day?!. Only pizzas were being sold by the slice at the time so a bit of a let down to celebrate a Birthday
Love the food, especially the marinara sauce, but you have to ask for it or you get plain ole pizza sauce. Most pizza is good, especially the Grandma, but a regular cheese pizza tastes like cardboard. We had to doctor it up at home!
CASH AMBUSH! Food quality and portions good as always. Prices have risen since Covid, but ate there on 2/1/22 for a friends Birthday dinner. Wait staff was great and food came out timely and hot. BUT, when we were finished with the meal the waitress brought the check and I inserted my Credit Card in the folder. When the Card and the credit slip were returned to the table to my surprise the total was different (More) than the original ticket. When I questioned the waitress she pointed to the credit card slip and it said " If you are paying with credit then this is the price you pay!!!! the waitress said that was the new policy and the increase for credit was approx. 2.9%. The credit slip also said we would appreciate it if you would pay the tip in CA$H. Now this was not the waitresses fault but there was no sign saying CC payment was a higher price either when you walked in or on the menu. So when your bill is $180.00 (cash) how would you know that ahead of time to bring cash. Insulting at the least to AMBUSH your patrons. You have already increased your prices and now you want them to subsidize your business costs. Wonder if all those CASH sales including taxes are being reported to the county and state???? This is becoming an all too common practice by all kinds of businesses. Next they will be installing their own ATM machines.
Michelangelo's used to be a great value for the dollar for delicious homemade Italian food. It now has become high cost, aiming to profit on NYC tourists visiting the North Fork, and the food quality and quantity has diminished. Our meal last night was mediocre: overcooked pasta, tasteless Prima Vera vegetables, small portions, now high cost, and an additional upcharge for the use of a credit card. They've lost this local customer....
Cheap !Cheap ! Cheap! It's obvious they are cutting back on the food potions & salad. Even the bread & galic knots.... I used to enjoy going here...
Service was horrible!! Went this weekend for a couple slices with the kids and wife for lunch. There was 1 other family in there. Waited 45 mins for 5 cheese slices and a bowl of spaghetti marinara. Waitresses just standing around BS'ING....
While the ambiance outdoors was nice, the food was really mediocre and the service wasn’t much better. The pasta was super watered down and bland tasting. Also was very over priced for what it was.
Rude waitress that was nowhere to be found once food was dropped.. Very watery sauce Came here a couple of years ago and really enjoyed. This time not so much..
I typically love the pizza from this restaurant, but after my most recent experience I will never support the establishment again. There was some confusion with my order and as I was trying to explain this to the guy behind the counter (I think he might be the owner) his tone, rudeness and condescension had me reeling. He was speaking to me like I was a child who wasn't understanding and would not let me get a word in edgewise. Never again. I was ordering about every 2 weeks from this place, but now I am done.
The food is good and the servers are super nice, however there is an extremely dishonest practice of showing a "cash discount" on the menu that is only advertised by size 6 font and not mentioned anywhere else. You think you're paying one thing then when you go to pay with CC end up paying another thing (which most customers don't notice due to the deceptive layout of the check). It's advertised as being "to keep prices competitive" but if that was really the case they would be clear about the credit card up charge. Let's call it what it is - a dirty business practice aimed at getting more money out of unsuspecting customers. I work in customer marketing and this type of practice is one of the most disrespectful ways you can treat your patrons. I won't eat here again and encourage others to speak out against dirty business practices like this.
Service was lacking and very slow. We arrived at 4 for dinner and they weren’t ready for dinner service despite saying they were. Food was bland.
Went there for dinner the other night haven’t eaten dinner there probably in six months most of the time we just do takeout or get pizza, quality of the food was not what we remembered it to be The eggplant was definitely made days before and you were basically eating breadcrumbs. It was cut so thin. I don’t even know how they breaded it, it’s not that hard to make sauce, but it was just so bitter, inferior Italian food Maybe I’m too picky because I’m Italian stick to the pizza don’t waste your money on the food for dinner. They’re better options out there. I actually called them a couple times first time they never called me back. They blamed it on me not complaining when I got served but since everything we ordered was bad what are you gonna do? It just wasn’t one item. made me feel like it was my fault that they tried to pass off this as Italian food. This was basically something you get at a dinner, sorry just speaking the truth been going out to that place for years, but the quality really went down I think since there the only option in town they can get away with this
I’m genuinely concerned about how bad the service in the restaurant is. The food was good but not worth the frustration. I’d understand if the service was slower than usual due to a busy night, but there were SIX other tables in the restaurant at the time of our visit. It took ten minutes to get a server, two asks to get olive oil for our bread, no salads came out with our pasta dishes, and when we received our food we asked for another round of drinks…. I guess she forgot. So through the course of 15 minutes we asked two more people for the drinks, after a total of 20 minutes we finally got them. We were asked 3 times during that 20 minutes of waiting for our drinks if we were done and wanted our food wrapped, seem like they wanted to empty they’re already dead dining room out a little faster. There was a young blonde lady that was very helpful and did her job very well, so I’d like to thank her but maybe try take out? Or somewhere where the service is worth the price.
Terrible service. Terrible tasting food. Flies flying around dining room. Shoulda stayed home and just ordered dominoes. At least I would have know I was getting garbage. Stay away from this place. Absolute DUMP!
We come once a month, not sure why. Service is terrible. Garlic knots are burnt. Food is ok but not worth the price.
Good food, terrible service. We are frequent patrons. Tonight, the service was particularly poor. A man who said he was the owner asked me how the food was, to which I replied that it was good, as usual. He then asked about the service. I answered him honestly. He replied that maybe we should not return. We won’t. It is amazing to me that someone in a service business would react that way instead of asking what was wrong.
Credit card users be aware, you are charged 4% more here to use plastic. They advertise this as a “cash discount” but there isn’t any discount no matter how you pay. Nothing but a play on words. If it is a discount, then the cash paying customer would pay less than the displayed price. Instead, the cash paying customer is paying the same displayed price and the CC user is paying 4% more. I sold merchant accounts in the past in this doesn’t sit well with me. Business Owners…you are not required to have a “merchant account”. You could have a cash only business but it is documented that you will increase sales by at least 20% by accepting cards. Your fees are a tax deductible. I don’t understand why merchants focus on the negative when it comes to their merchant account and now they want to punish a person who doesn’t carry cash but is likely to spend more money because they don’t. You are being reported to the BBB, NYS Attorney General and credit card companies. I refuse to support a business that views credit card customers so low. Never again!
HORRIBLE! Stay away!!! This place has gone down hill. Food and service were HORRIBLE a young female followed us out to our car and yelled at us for not leaving a larger “tip” and told us to never come back! We said nothing but tape recorded her rant ! Stay away, better restaurants in the area!!
Rarely do I leave a bad review but this time it is a must. Calling your soups vegetarian and not communicating that it has chicken broth in it is unacceptable. I have had the minestrone soup before because I was told that it was vegetarian. I WAS NOT TOLD IT HAS CHICKEN BROTH IN IT. We can debate the definition of vegetarian but the fact is I wasn’t given all the information so I could make a decision that was best for me because by my definition it is not vegetarian.
Ordered a Granma pie and it was the worst I’d ever had. Went in yesterday to purchase pizza dough and was charged triple what I paid anywhere else for just plain pizza dough. I could have had a three course meal for what I paid. That’s what happens when there is no local competition. I’ll drive the extra few miles before I spend another dime there. Sorry.
Terrible service. Ordered ahead and the food wasn’t ready. When I got “some” of the food I ordered, it was cold. They didn’t even have the garlic knots ready that I ordered. They even admitted that they made a mistake and did nothing about it. Shame on them horrible business. DO NOT GO.
My wife and I split a sandwich at Wednesday's Table (awesome) and were still a little hungry to we went into Michelangelos for a slice. The staff was uptight and unfriendly. After we paid we went outside to a table to eat or pizza. It was very greasy and soggy. As we left a girl from behind the counter came running out and said we didn't pay for the pizza. My wife explained that she had paid the boy at the register but the girl was insistent saying "are you sure you paid." As we got back to our Land Rover the manager rushed over and started questioning us suspiciously about paying and asking me how much the pizza was. He was rude and way overstepping the right way to treat a customer. Bottom line...this place has marginal pizza parlor food and is a haven for tourists who don't no where to go on the north fork. If you want good food try Wednesday's Table or go to Greenport for pizza.
Just bought an everything pie. Very skimpy, half of the pie had almost no green peppers or onions . They charged $27 dollars. Very disappointed! Have been a patron for over twenty years. Will think twice before I return. Shame.... used to be very good place!
Had chicken cutlet parmigiana, over cooked chicken not edible and the sauce tasted like canned hunts mixed with sugar. Not happy at all. Will not go back. Must have got a new chef because it was never like this before. Terrible!
Ordered two take out dishes. Pasta and sauce was like a soup very little pasta. Chicken was soaked in balsamic and not what I ordered. When I returned to have corrected gentleman ( I use the word sparingly) said I'll give you your.money back go somewhere else. I took it went to touch of Venice and had a nice meal Stay away from this place .
Limited experience with this restaurant lately. About 2 years ago, when the bill came the server made a point to say the cost was lower with cash as opposed to a credit card. We paid by credit card and paid the approximately additional 3% - today we were going to have a late afternoon meal and posted on the door at entry was a paper sign taped to the glass “cash only”. This policy is inconvenient and impractical - carrying cash limits options, affects plans and choices, requires special attention if you are eating with others and is a bit unsanitary. We are done with this place if that is their new policy. Economy of scale might dictate greater volume with the credit option and even atms on site carry other risks!
We tried to visit on 8/10. We were seated right away. Ordered shortly after, served our salad and waited for 1 hour & 10 minutes for our dinner. We inquired about our dinner & was told the kitchen was very busy. I noticed salads & deserts coming out of the kitchen but no entree’s. We left $ on the table & left.
There was a beautiful girl behind the counter and she somewhat distracted me from what she was giving me which were a bunch of dry bread knots… I can’t say garlic knots because there was no sign of garlic or oil … and for some small garlicless knotted bread, it was kinda pricy! There are plenty of places that make pizza UPDATE: I haven’t gone back to this place but there seems to be a continuation of one star review, so please anyone being fooled by the five star reviews or the four star review please play close attention to all the other reviews. This place should be better and or cost less, I don’t know how they still exist .
If you want to wait for ok food and terrible service, this is your spot. Two hours for a meal. No management presence. Not even an apology. Hire more people and take ownership for your mistake. Kitchen fell way behind and expo could not fix service. Tony and Amy, get it together.
I would not recommend going here if you have food allergies or at all in general. I had a very bizarre experience while going out with a group of friends. I cannot eat any gluten or dairy, and read online that there were options for "all dietary restrictions" so it felt like a safe choice, but the staff were extremely rude and unknowledgeable about food allergies. I ordered a house salad with grilled chicken and asked a couple of questions to make sure there was not going to be any cross contamination or possible miscommunication about ingredients. I was met with very snarky remarks including asking how I am even able to eat out anywhere and that the chefs in the kitchen won't understand how to make those accommodations. As if lettuce, cucumbers, and grilled chicken with oil and vinegar is an insurmountable request. If the chefs are unable to process and execute something so simple that seems to be a larger issue that needs to be addressed by management. Many people in the world have allergies to many different types of foods, yes there is always a risk when dining out. However, many places are happy to accommodate to allergies on the east end, especially without rude remarks to their customers. I have never experienced anything like that before in all of my years safely dining across Long Island and the rest of the country. The food itself was very underwhelming. There were 4 pieces of grilled chicken and 4 slices of cucumber atop a bed of lettuce for nearly $25. They also included a piece of bread wrapped in tin foil despite my very clear communication that I cannot consume bread due to an allergy, which was honestly quite funny at that point. The food itself was "safe" I didn't have any flare ups, despite the employees lack of confidence in their kitchen staff. Again, I would not reccomend the potential risk of dining here and the disrespectful remarks were uncalled for. Very sad to experience. Please do better.
Over priced. Online menu states one price and then they charge extra $10 per item in store. Ordered pasta dish and they charged us $78!! Because it’s normally $24 and then if you wanna add chicken it’s extra $9. We got two orders of pasta with chicken for $78?! Not worth it.
