Love love love the apple slaw!! So good and crunchy and delish. Maria took our order and was so sweet and pleasant. Loved my brisket potato. But that coke slaw. So delish. Will definitely come back.

Food was delicious! Mac and cheese was super amazing! Then we got all three desserts amd they were fabulous. We received great customer service. Food was brought out to us. Would absolutely recommend!!

Chuck at the order counter was happy to help and made great suggestions on items to try. Friendly staff, and the brisket was off the chain. Perfect smoke, bark was chewy and delicious, get it fatty! Try it out. You won’t be disappointed.

Chuck went above and beyond for me during my visit. He showed kindness and patience as this was my first time at this establishment. The food did not disappoint. Arrived an hour before they closed. Staff was clearly tired but still serving with a smile. They still had a good selection of meat, told me up front that they were out marbled brisket. Eating area was clean and tidy. Food served in a timely manner. Good bbq for the price and location. Not great bbq by any means but I would come here over the "competition" down the street.

Maybe eating here first before shopping at HEB for groceries will keep my grocery bill lower ( at least that’s what I’m telling myself !)

I didn't expect this at the HEB BBQ since its pretty much self service. But as Maria did treating it as a dine in Restaurant was great! She was extremely polite and welcoming.

A True Taste of Texas I recently had the pleasure of dining at True Texas BBQ, and I have to say, it lived up to the name. The food was excellent, with the standout dish being the brisket mac and cheese. The brisket was incredibly tender and smoky, and it paired perfectly with the creamy, rich mac and cheese. It's a combination I didn't know I needed until I tried it, and now I can't stop thinking about it. Another highlight was their sweet tea, which they brew in-house. It's perfectly balanced not too sweet, and with a wonderfully refreshing flavor that complemented the BBQ perfectly. But what truly made our experience was the service. Chuck, who served us, was absolutely fantastic. He was friendly, attentive, and genuinely seemed to enjoy his work. He offered great recommendations and made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. His positive energy and helpfulness definitely elevated our visit. Overall, if you're looking for authentic, delicious Texas BBQ with great service, you can't go wrong with this place. I'll definitely be back for more of that brisket mac and cheese!

Excellent service, had the loaded baked potatoes, and the brisket nachos. Will definitely return.. Revision to my review is that we found the creamed corn a little unpleasant with the spiciness. Definitely could not be enjoyed by a small child or a patron that doesn't like spicy foods.

They have delicious and tender BBQ brisket along with many side dishes, ice tea and more. They even have beer on tap. This full restaurant has plenty of seating is conveniently located in just outside of HEB. All the staff were super friendly and very helpful. We are thrilled they just opened this at the end of May. Looking forward to coming back. Highly recommend.

Well well well what a hill country gem this true tx bbq is…first off customer service was the best I have ever had. Chuck took great care of our for our purchase and kept checking on us bring us boxes too. John also took great care of us when we were short tenders and subbing turkey. He checked on us too and was great too. The entire staff was so pleasant and happy. Now to the food, this was the first location we’ve been to with chicken tenders and man, they are delicious! The el jefe sandwich is huge but so delicious, that Cole slaw contrasting with the meats makes this sandwich. The brisket nachos are crave worthy along with the potato salad. The kids devoured the Mac and cheese. We will definitely be back! This is our new go to bbq spot!

The food was great. Especially loved the chili!! The kiosk stations were all closed, and service was pretty slow. After paying and waiting we were told they were out of all the sides we had originally ordered. The food was delicious, but personally felt portion sizes were rather small. Specifically the sides were tiny. $14 for a bowl of chili I figured would be enough to fill up my teen. It was not. He had to eat his sides and a majority of my food. I would eat here again, but would be more selective in getting items on sale or maybe just the sandwiches.

Got a to go order, didn’t check it before I drove 25 min home and there was no BBQ sauce. It was my first visit and I love trying new sauces so it was very disappointing to get home with 2 lbs of meat and no sauce, having to resort to sweet baby rays :( Burnt ends were amazing to me, Mac and cheese is bland, kids loved the ribs, whole family liked the brisket. Also took onions off the order and had them in with the pickles so my husband wasn’t happy about that.

They side portion were good(enough for one), I had the one meat pulled pork. I feel i was short-changed because the container was only half full.
