Had a spam katsu bowl which was really great. It came with pickled veggies and rice. My fiancé got an Ube bun burger and fries. The sauces for everything were perfect. This is a really good and interesting fusion restaurant. It's in a strip mall so the parking is fairly easy and accessible as well. I think they're focused on take out, but they still have a decent amount of seating.
We were in town visiting family and we were craving Filipino food and a quick Google search brought up Tambayan that was close so we gave it a shot. We were not disappointed. There were 5 of us and they handled the order very well, everything was accurate, the food was excellent, and the service was very friendly. We all got something different so we got to sample quite a bit off their menu. Not a single thing we received had anything wrong with it. The portion sizes were also very nice. We'll be sure to stop by when we visit again, it will be worth it.
The gud burger is good! The crispy kare-kare is good too. I like the ube churros as well
Absolutely delicious. Where else can you even find this? The sisig fries are amazing
My first time at this new restaurant. I was not disappointed. I had the Gud burger and fries. The burger was awesome! Great flavor and juicy to the last bite. Love their fries!! The sauce that came with it is a great pairing. I am looking forward to my next visit. If you're tired of the same old fast food and are looking for a new place to try then you have to stop by Tambayan and have some great food!!
This little spot located on the east side of Paradise Valley Road is a hidden gem that's been killing it since they opened. They have the best filipino fusion out of anywhere in San diego. The staff is friendly and they provide a clean eating environment with a tv that's usually on a sports channel so you can watch while enjoying your meal. Their menu consists of a few classic filipino dishes (my favorite is the corned beef hash-silog) to newer things like sisig fries and the delicious Gud burger which is an ube bread smash burger. Their ube churros paired with the ube dipping sauce is sooo good too! Definitely a must try place!
Ambience / atmosphere: zero Wait time: about 30 minutes Food: SPECTACULAR We ordered the hot honey chicken sandwich and the pork belly loaded fries. Everything was delicious! Very flavorful, great texture. The price was average / fair. Restaurant was very loud, a little sticky, and hot, so we opted to take the food to go. Super tasty and we will be back!
That ube burger is sooo good! I’ve ordered it multiple times and it’s consistently perf. I wish they sold those ube buns as rolls. This place doesn’t have a bathroom so I’m lucky they deliver to me. The ube churros I’ve tried twice and they are a weird texture. Kinda crumbly? The spam katsu bowl was ok. Probably won’t have it again but would want a regular spam masubi or regular spam bowl. Kare kare bowl is ok but I would prefer beef over pork belly. The lechon sticks are huge and pretty good. Sisig bowl is good. I really want to try the apple turon pie but it’s not orderable grubhub so idk if they still make it.
My husband and I stopped in for a quick bite, and on our way out, he said, 'That was one of the best meals I’ve ever had!' We enjoyed the short rib bowl and the hot honey chili garlic chicken sandwich—both were absolutely delicious. The staff was friendly, the prices were reasonable, and the food was spectacular. We’ll definitely be back!
Another great find in Spring Valley! Ordered the Gud burger, curly fries, and chicken lumpia (They were out of pork belly so no sisig fries or lechon, dang. Next time.). An ube garlic bun?! Juicy patty?! Well seasoned fries?! All the umami one could ask for. I will be a regular for sure. Support local!
I’m honestly upset with myself that I haven’t tried this place sooner, the food is amazing!! They have the best sisig I’ve ever tried. I’m looking forward to trying their other dishes! 10/10 would recommend :)
Food is AMAZING Flavors are rich and so cozy. We had the Burger, Kare Kare Bowl, Lumpias and Shortrib Bowl. Both bowls with garlic rice. SO SARAP!
SUPEEEERB! Like im very picku with filipino food esp karekare. The flavor is soooo unique and its exactly i want my kare kare.(except i like bokchoy on it or thicker slices of eggplant) BUT still Nothing beats this kare kare! My boyfriend got sisig bowl. And yessss its also good. This is the best yet so far! I just really hope they stay consistent with amount serving because one bowl serving you can eat it for 2 meals 😂 depends on appetite… Service is friendly as well!i am kapampangan, have high standards in food. but this one really beat most of the filipino food in SD
really chill spot, came at opening time on a saturday and it was already pretty busy. saw a reel online about the gud burger with an ube bun, and had to try it out. ordered quite a few things to sample the menu, and i was thoroughly impressed by every bite. sisig and tapa bowl, bombin. gud burger, juicy and unique. sisig fries, delectable. i had a short wait for the gud burger, but i could understand the wait as they seemed absolutely stormed by online orders, and the wait on the burger was totally worth it. the staff was great and hardworking. plenty of parking in the lot, not too much seating in-shop but this seems like a place thats meant for delicious takeout anyway. earned 5 stars for sure, and is added to my gold list of local restaurants to stop by when im hungry.
Tasty Filipino BBQ here. I've been craving this place since the day after I came here and would be back if Spring Valley wasn't such a haul for me. BBQ shortrib was awesome, but everything else was too from the Sinigang na Baboy to the "meats on sticks," which included Pig Snout and Beef Isaw (intestines).
We came here as my first time. The Double Gud Burger did not disappoint. Everything was 10/10, the taste of the food, the service of the friendly staff, and the atmosphere we experienced!! The Double Gud Burger with curly fries indeed surprised me, because it was that good. The burger itself was so juicy, fresh, and delicious that it even tasted better than In N Out, Mcdonalds, or many other burger fast food chains!! The fries were crispy, hot, and freshly made, with the sauce that made everything taste even better. Will definitely be coming back, and highly recommend for a great burger and a even better experience then most!! 🍔🍟
If you’re looking to support a small business with a great vibe and even better food, this is it. I ordered the hot honey chili garlic bowl. I love that my chicken was thoroughly cooked. I tasted a little bit of sweet and a little bit of spicy, it was perfect. My partner ordered the Tapa fries I couldn’t resist picking off of them! .Again Everything was perfect. I love the sauce and the seasoning on them. For dessert we got the ube churros, absolutely delicious and still nice and soft on the inside not overcooked. I would recommend going early because when they sell out of things that’s it. You gotta find something else on the menu.overall we will be back, nice vibes nice guys and parking was easy!
Best burger in San Diego right now. They make thier own buns and the patties are out of this world. They have a secret menu and The short rib bowl is also 10/10. Please come try this food asap!! You will not be disappointed.
10/10! We tried the Kare Kare bowl, Longanisa smash burger and crunch wrap, and the short ribs. They don’t miss! The wobbly tables are charming lol
Met the group at a catering event, we were next to them and they hooked us up with some bomb food! Next time I come around definitely visiting their store! Im not a burger gal but man this was delicious! The wagyu and especially the loganisa, I definitely had to fight my boyfriend for the longanisa one 🤣🤣
Sooo good!! I had the honey garlic chicken sand which and it was soooo fire!!! We waited about 15 or so minutes which isn’t bad! It was so worth the wait 😮💨🤤
The Hot Honey Chili Garlic Chicken Sando and Kare Kare Bowl with Short Rib were sooooo delicious. I wanted to try the Filipino Corn Dog, but it was sold out. Better luck next time, I guess. Cashier Justin had excellent customer service, too, despite being super busy. Will definitely be back and recommend to others. Can’t wait to try the rest of the menu.
If you want something non-commercial and deliciously tasty? Give this place a look. It's in a strip mall type of place and it's not a very big place... but this food is what comfort /take-out looks like to me. It's freshly made, and it looks like someone's tita or Lola is in the kitchen... i think it's their spirit(s) if I'm being honest. The music was good. I knew a few of the tunes, and the staff was very attentive! Props for the Ube Churros and the creme. This food was Fire 🔥 🔥 We will definitely be back. Don't sleep on this place, y'all! We shared the Spam Katsu bowl and the GÜD Burger. God bless this place, and it's people!
this shit is amazing. I would kick a child in the face for an order of their Longanisa fries (forgot the exact name) I have been munching on this all day. You know that feeling when you eat while you have the munchies? That's the feeling I get without munchie time
Came out for that Burger with a Filipino twist. Delicious! The GUD Burger- Ube milk bun with 2 smashed American Wagyu patties! Service always the best.
I was craving filipino food. I wanted to try a new place. I usually don't eat sisig. I trying my hubby's sisig fries. It was 🔥! I got the Güd burger. I didn't want to share it with my hubby. 🤭 My kiddos shared corn beef hash with egg. They loved it. The portion is a good size. I told my kids once they are done with eating. I'll buy ube churros. The cook must of read my mind and came out with churros. 10 out of 10 highly recommend! I ordered extra churros for my sister in-law and Lola to try.
Juicy burger with a good flavor combo. Creative entrees. Everything is really good.
I was craving a filipino snack and found this place! It’s a little whole in the wall that offers a unique menu. I got the lumpia and bbq skewers! They were delicious!! I want to come back and try one of their bowls next!
GÜD burger is legit. Great quality beef, awesome ube bun, toppings and ratios are all balanced. Also loved the Filipino corn dog and sometimes they have a longanisa smash burger with fried egg and it’s legit too! Everything is cooked from scratch. So if you want fast food, go somewhere that has fast food.

Did not disappoint! Double Gud burger with twisted season fries. So good! Took the apple dessert home which was really good. Crispy sugar and cinnamon coated wrap with apples in side with a Ube sauce...
I stopped by Tambayan Filipino BBQ & Grill and it was a really fun place to try Filipino comfort food with a modern twist. The restaurant has a casual, laid-back vibe, and it feels like a cozy neighborhood spot where the food is the real star. The menu mixes Filipino flavors with American fusion, which makes the dishes really interesting. I tried one of their rice bowls and it was packed with flavor—tender meat, fresh toppings, and a great balance of sauces. Some of their popular items include the Kare Kare Bowl, Sisig Bowl, and the Gud Burger with ube milk buns, which gives the burger a unique sweet touch. Overall, it’s a great place if you want something different from typical fast food. The portions are generous, the flavors are bold, and it’s a cool spot to experience Filipino-inspired fusion cuisine in the San Diego area.

The food would receive 6 stars if possible, but dining-in was a letdown. I ate an item that used to be on the menu but can still be requested, a smashed longanisa burger which comes on the ube bun. I added the sidewinder fries which came with a side of banana ketchup aioli. Every aspect of the meal was cooked to perfection! The fries were so deliciously crispy. And the longanisa burger was juicy with just the right amount of toppings. The interior experience was letdown by wobbly tables and chairs with stuffy air. There are no fountain drinks, only canned sodas or bottled water, which is disappointing to have to keep buying drinks. One of the best restaurants for delivery or carry-out, but don't expect a good time if you eat there.
The Gud Burger was really good, although I was expecting it to be bigger. The fries were crispy and tasty. I liked the chicken lumpias as well. I wasn't a fan of the apple turon and the Kare Kare bowl was just not good.
A local establishment that is making great new flavors and meals. The uniqueness of the purple Ube bun. Burger was cooked to perfection with onions and pickles, wow. The short rib bowl is off the hook full of flavor. The bbq chicken skewers were filling and compliment the house made sauce. Check them out and support local small business.

I was excited to try this place because ot the great reviews, but all I can say is I am not satisfied with the food. I tried the Corned beef silog since I’ve been craving for it, but I was disappointed. First of all, there’s a lot of garlic and it was even burnt, so basically all I was tasting is burnt garlic. I don’t know about their burgers but their filipino breakfast menu is not good. Don’t even waste your money on here. How could you go wrong with a simple dish, let alone a corned beef?
Gotta drop the 2 stars for the cashier with clean glove hands touching everything from napkins to dirty towels to utensils to money all with the same gloves. Lose the gloves so you can feel when your hands are dirty!!! You can’t just touch everything because you got gloves on lol.
Be ready to wait! Waited over an hour, we ordered 2 bowls, lumpia, and ube churros. When the food finally was ready they gave us the wrong bag.
It's not that I don't like your food or services but my wife and I was so excited to try your food that we went to your restaurant twice but finds that it was closed. 🤔😪 and it's lunch time. So, even if we don't like Pizza Hut (next to you)...we ended ordering from them.
I ordered Kare-kare for to go, and as soon as I got home, I opened it and it was smell of burned eggplant and green string beans. How could you served this for 18 dollars? The skin of the pork is also chewy and under seasoned. The shrimp paste (bagoong) is pinkish straight from the bottle needs to be cooked. Not worth for the price.
