I stopped by for lunch with a co-worker. It was our first time and we pulled in because there were plenty of vehicles parked outside so we figured it was a good place. The food was reasonably priced and well prepared 😋. I've had the opportunity to eat the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes, mixed veggies, and peach cobbler, then at a later date we went back and I tried their beef tips over white rice. It was perfect. I had a beer to wash it down. Love it here.

Wow. We’ve lived nearby for a year and a half and every time my husband I drive past, we thought about stopping. Finally one day we went and I’m so mad at myself for not going sooner! The chicken fried steak, sliced brisket and green beans were my FAVORITE! Love their rolls too. Just such good food, super kind staff and no wait. So glad we finally went and will be going back again very very soon!

Ate here passing though. Ordered seafood fried shrimp! Shrimp were delicious! Tartar sauce not so much, BUT our waitress was completely honest and said it was not that good. Will try chicken friend steak next go-round!

This place is good just not quite 5 stars good. It's what I wanted it to be. Comfort food, I ordered the chicken fried steak (regular size) mashed potatoes and mac and cheese. Everything tasted homemade the portions were perfect I still had room for desert. For desert I ordered the banana pudding. I would recommend it however, next time I go I will order one of the pies. I also ordered the sweet tea, it's Texas style not southern style if you know the difference. Definitely give this place a try when your in the mood for some down home country cooking you won't be disappointed.

Great country cooking. The chicken fried steak special is a favorite here and the sides are all great and best part of this visit is the price. Banana pudding dessert was delicious! You will get more than you pay for and the menu is largely priced fairly. Better than th competition by miles.

My wife and I decided to stop in for an early dinner. She ordered chicken fried chicken, green beans, fried okra with cream gravy. I ordered the double original burger with grilled jalapenos and fries. She wanted banana pudding for dessert. We were pleased with our meals. Give them a try.

If you are looking for Southern home cooking look no more! We met a group of my family to share some good news. We reserved a table for 10 at 7:30 pm and over half the party didn’t arrive until after 8 pm. The waiter was extremely understanding and worked with us to get everything we needed for everyone that was coming. There is a lot to offer and we tried a lot of different meals. The baked potatoes were a bit dry but everything else was as good as you can expect from a local diner. I was told the grilled cheese was really good and the banana pudding was the best I have had in Houston! Really glad we chose Neal’s to share our news!

Went here for the first time today for lunch and was not impressed. The bread they give you tasted straight out of a grocery store package and was stale. My son had the popcorn shrimp and they had way too much breading on them. I had the chicken fried steak and it was ok but have definitely had better. The chips and salsa, guacamole, queso was not good at all. I don’t think I will be coming back.

I wanted to eat here because I remember going there years ago and the food was always good. Went with my Mom last week. I got catfish and I expected fillets but instead it was pieces the size of chicken tenders but cut down the center which was a lesser quality product. I could have bought them frozen at Walmart and they would have been better. The okra was overpriced and the batter was the predominant taste with barely any okra. But the two most offensive things were 1) when they gave us bread they used to also include cornbread - really yummy cornbread muffins NOW they charge 30 cents each and the cornbread is heavy maybe not homemade and not very good to eat. 2) when we asked for togo boxes they brought them out but when we asked for containers for tartar sauce we were told they would be free today but they would charge us for the small containers next time. After we left we were not so happy with the food but mostly we couldn't stop talking about offensiveness of the extra charge for awful cornbread and the "threat" we would be charged " next time" for the small ( maybe one Oz size ) containers. We won't be back for the food so don't worry about using your facial recognition software to identify us to charge us for the additional containers!!

I went to this restaurant to pick up an order 10 min ago and the service was awful. I’m not sure if the person who served me was the owner or an employee, but his attitude was completely rude. There were only two customers in the place, and when I walked in and said “Good evening,” he responded with “What’s the name?” without even looking at me or returning the greeting. I tried again, saying hello and good evening, and he responded in the same hostile way: “What’s the name?” It felt very disrespectful and unnecessary. Just because I’m a delivery driver doesn’t mean I should be treated this way, especially in front of other customers. It was degrading and unprofessional. I will not return. If they want people to recommend their restaurant, they should start by treating everyone with respect, both customers and delivery drivers. Edit: Thank you for taking the time to respond, but your message doesn’t make much sense to me. First, I was not “assuming” anything that’s exactly why I wrote “I’m not sure if he was the owner.” It seems like that part of my review wasn’t read carefully. Second, the comment about my other reviews is unnecessary and unprofessional. I don’t spend my time going from place to place leaving negative feedback; on the contrary, I rarely leave reviews because I know how much impact they have on a business. The only times I speak up are when I genuinely feel disrespected. That is precisely why you may only see negative reviews from me. If you don’t believe what happened, you can simply check your cameras. The interaction is recorded, and the behavior I described will be right there. Lastly, the tone of your reply makes it clear why the interaction felt the way it did. When a someone expresses a concern and the immediate response is to invalidate them, blame them, or diminish their experience, it only reinforces the issue. A business that truly values customer service responds with accountability and professionalism not defensiveness. You should do better so your employees aren’t so rude just like you. Thank you.

Thank you for ruining the limited time I get to spend with my family. Definitely understand why the other location shut down... The food and service were horrible. (Darcy) made the whole experience horrible. We ordered our food... Then she gave us all of our food except the dessert at once. (Check picture) Then, she proceeded to tell us it was a new cook (at 730 pm), like we didn't know, she put it in the system all at once and made a mistake. ( I hate being lied to). Then she walks over as we are overwhelmed with everything we ordered, drops the dessert off, not even two min later. So now you have to rush to eat warm can food. We never saw her till she came back with the check and boxes. The green beans are aluminum quality. The black berry pie is the worst pie I have ever eaten. (YES THAT IS THE PIE THEY GAVE US BEFORE WE TOUCHED IT) Should of taken the hint when the whole restaurant is empty...
