We went Saturday for breakfast, a perfect time to go to enjoy all the details with personalized service. Lunch and dinner are much higher energy. You can see from the picture the culinary affection put into the menu. Great selection of egg dishes.
Our server Amy was fantastic. She was very helpful when choosing appetizers and our main course. Our food was exquisite. Everything tasted wonderful. The veal meatballs were some of the most flavorful I have ever had. The pretzel bites and cheese were great too. I had the sirloin and it was cooked to perfection. It melted in my mouth and every bite was heaven. The presentation on the plate was beautiful. My husband had the chicken bacon penne it was really good too. Some how we found room for the white chocolate cheesecake and it was so rich and delicious. We want to come back and try the rest of the menu. Thank you for a wonderful dining experience.
Our food was amazing. Good times in a great atmosphere. Friendly staff. No wait on an early Saturday dinner. Drinks were creative as well as tasty. I would definitely recommend this place.
I think this place is great! I went there the first time last year, and returned tonight! The staff is awesome and super helpful. The black and blue salad was a repeat for me. It was great along with the carrot curry soup. Yes, highly suggested! There was also a special of crostini with whipped goat cheese and bacon! Do yourself a favor and get it. I was too excited and eating my salad and forgot to take a picture, but my friend hadn’t started on his thunderbird. I got a picture of that, and he said it was great. I’ll be back next year.
Awesome place! Chris was my bartender and waiter. He deserves a shout out! Made my experience in this cool st louis eatery even more special!
Cool place. Glad I stumbled across it. Very nice staff. Great service. Good food. Cold beer. I’ll definitely visit again.
This was a great fine in Midtown St Louis. Was looking for a good place for breakfast. Service was amazing! Very cool art work in great location! Food was womderful!
Excellent breakfast with equally excellent service. Glad to recommend this fine restaurant!
Good food (although the menu isn't expansive), great service, and who doesn't love the historical motorcycle motif! American foods that aren't afraid of flavor...
Very good food, motorcycle museum, motorcycle dealership
This was a no-brainer choice for dinner as we were guests at the (attached) Hotel Ignacio-- but, we were not disappointed!! A nice venue with plenty of tables, although we dined at the bar and got friendly with the bartenders who were constantly busy but still attentive. The 1 page menu has just the right amount of food options, and all of them sounded good. The Thunderbird sandwich was tasty and fit side of sweet potato fries also good. I'd like to go back again and try something different off the menu. This is a great dining option if you are headed to a show at Chaifetz Arena.
The portion sizes are very generous, the food was great but best of all.....I made a mistake when totalling my bill with the tip and instead of charging me the wrong total they charged the correct total and shortchanged themselves. I have made math errors at other establishments and have NEVER had a restaurant charge the correct amount! Great job!
Went for the motorcycles, stayed for the food. A unique restaurant near the Fox theatre in St Louis. Many classic and rare motorcycles on display in the attached museum. Reasonable prices and great food.
I've been to Triumph a few times now and have never been disappointed. The service is always quick and friendly. The food is insanely good. When I go to a bar and grill, I expect a certain level of bar "greasy-ness," but this food is a bit better than your average bar and grill. I would highly suggest a burger or the Rueban. They also have a stocked bar with tons of choices. Great place to stop in on the way to the Chaifeitz or Fox.
The staff were attentive and helpful, the menu was interesting, the food superb. Anyone that gave this place less than five stars would complain that you gave them a used present if you gave them a gold coin from the wreck of the Attocia.
Lo ve. This. Place. The small plates (like tapas) provide a good selection/variety to accommodate diverse palates. Nice ambiance and not too "rowdy" even though right there by the university. Be sure to check out the vintage motorcycles and accessories. Awesome nastalgia.
This is my favorite restaurant/bar in the whole city. It get absolutely everything right consistently. It has a great location, ample street parking, a clean interior, plenty of seating, fun decor, fast and friendly service, and a unique menu. All that may be good enough for 4 stars, but how does Triumph earn the elusive 5th star? Happy hour. If you show up during the M-F happy hour, you can eat your fill of excellent food and get drunk on awesome beer or premium wells all for about $10-15. This place is a true triumph that I will revisit again and again.
This is a legit 3 Star restaurant but it's priced like a Denny's almost. Decor is interesting, old motorcycle parts arranged artistically. Service has been excellent every time I've been. I take out-of-towners here and we wander the museum while our food is prepared. A unique and tasty experience
We had a wedding rehearsal dinner for 40 people. It was absolutely wonderful! The food was excellent...chicken pasta buffet, with smashed potatoes and salad. The service was above average, Amy, our sever, handled everything with the utmost care. We would highly recommend this place!
I hadn't been for three years but enjoyed myself and the meal I had upon my first visit. Finally got back to try it again and though good my steak was missing some toppings. Besides that the bar area and dining rooms are nice and open with large ceilings and the motorcycle museum next door is a fun little walkthrough after dinner.
Excellent food. Had the duck...best I've had in along time. Flatbread was a little plain...maybe a little too much sauce and not crispy enough. The service was impeccable. We had a show to go to at the Fox and were on a time crunch, and our waiter performed flawlessly....even let us borrow his keycard for a lot right next to the venue! The fact that there is a motorcycle museum inside the restaurant as well as a dealer was a big plus.
Stopped in for appetizers before a show at the Fox and they were fantastic! We got the pretzel bites and the chicken fingers with the red hot riplet breading - so good. We'll definitely be back when we can get a dinner entree. **Update: We came back for dinner a couple weeks ago and it was so good! This time we got the flash fried spinach as an appetizer and it was melt-in-your-mouth perfect. The right amount of lemon and seasoning. My boyfriend and his dad got the burger and both said it was really good - it looked awesome and I stole a couple chips, which were tasty. My boyfriend's mom got the salmon and finished her plate. I got the chicken saltimbocca and it was phenomenal. I couldn't finish it, but was able to take about half home for lunch the next day. I definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for great appetizers, dinner and service!
Just did the Easter Brunch and flat out loved it! Smoked salmon, eggs Benedict, mac and cheese (to die for), sugar baked ham, large shrimp, mashed potatoes from heaven just for starters. Didn't count but had to be 50 main items plus 30 deserts. The cherry pie was tart to perfection. Our family has a new holiday tradition at Triumph Grill.
Great restaurant for visiting the Fox, Powell Hall or other events down on Grand Ave. Engine enthusiasts will enjoy the decor. Our server, Amy, was very attentive and accommodating to our different nutritional needs. Our food came out promptly and hot. It was exactly what we expected and how we ordered it.
Went for breakfast & then again for a catered evening event. Breakfast menu online (Google) did not match menu in restaurant. Breakfast was pricy & not very flavorful, but ok. Dinner was MUCH better. Drinks were mixed well, all dinner dishes & dessert were absolutely delicious, & the private room for our group was perfect along w a great waitress. Highly recommend for private group events👍🏽
Nice layout. Good food. Nice hostice. Attached to a motorcycle museum a hotel and has two motorcycle shops. What more could an motorcycle enthusiast need.. And a nice city to ride around with plenty to do.
Food and drink was excellent. I had the barrel-aged rye manhattan with the five spice tenderloin. My wife had the duck. Both were a fresh take on ingredients and flavors. The rating would be five-stars if the service was more timely and the dining area didn't get smoky for some unexplained reason. We enjoyed the experience and the food. We would definitely return for another dinner.
Food could be better. Service is good. The attached free motorcycle museum is to die for. Edit: Went back a few weeks ago (Dec, '17) for lunch. The food could still use way more attention. But the service is still really good.
We went as a group before a Fox show. For starters they got us out on time, an achievement! I had the tomato/mozzarella salad and the shrimp Cajun pasta. Both were quite tasty. Good wine list, lemonade made in-house, and the waitress we had was great about our dietary restrictions (gluten-free and also pregnancy).
Great food! Cozy and nice! They just didn't put the prices on the menu, so you know they must be a bit pricey! And they need a bigger menu choice! Otherwise, really nice and the food was seasoned nicely!
We had a very good meal prior to attending a performance at the nearby Fox Theater in St. Louis. Their menu is somewhat limited, and they were out of a few items and beverages. The restaurant adjoins an interesting collection of antique motorcycles.
We have our monthly motorcycle club meetings there and I look forward to dinning there, the food is good and not too expensive. And the beer is cold, what more do you need. The private room is adequate for our small group and there are tvs to watch sports.
We went here for breakfast and it was not very busy at all, which seems unusual for a Saturday Morning. There was only one waitress and she was busy, but still provided very good service. Our food was very good and the home made potatoes were really great. It is too bad not more people are here.
Nice vintage motorcycle motif eatery. Went for lunch. They have great sandwiches, burgers, salads and more. We didn't have a cocktail, but they have a full bar with some decent beers in tap.
Second time coming. This time was for brunch & while the service was great, the food was mediocre at best. I'll definitely try them for dinner & drinks again.
It was nice enough, but I honestly wasn't impressed. Brunch foods felt like they'd been sitting on the warmer for a while. Was shocked at the brunch cost when the check came. Would have been happier at a cheap diner if I'd known I was paying so much for such average fair. The atmosphere is nice though, I'll admit. Haven't been for dinner service. Not super interested in trying it.
Decent service, our server seemed a bit inconsistent in our service. There were times she'd be stopping by frequently but then we'd have times where we all needed refills and we were waiting for several minutes for her to reappear. I love motorcycles so the atmosphere and decor of the restaurant was awesome. They had a very good menu, something for everyone. Had onion rings as an appetizer and the sauces they served with them were great, as were the onion rings themselves. The entree was not very good. I had the beer-braised chicken and it was over-spiced. I like spicy food but the spice, in this instance, didn't add to the flavor of the meal, it killed it. Those who were also dining with me echoed the same sentiments with their food. One person even noted he could've been eating a shoe and wouldn't have known because of the spiciness. Not saying I won't come back, but if I do I'll make sure to get something that isn't meant to be a spicy entree, maybe stick with a burger.
Nice place overall a little pricey. Ordered a local brew on draft 12oz and it was $6 you generally order draft because it’s cheaper than a bottle. The menu said the turkey burger was fresh and the waiter said the same thing. Fresh would put you in a mind of ground fresh in house when I got it clearly after the first bite I could tell it was a processed patty that taste more like a chicken breast. I informed the waiter that the menu was misleading and he said it was made fresh in whatever facility then delivered to them which was not fresh. A good turkey burger is hard to find in STL and the waiter ensured me this was fresh and I wouldn’t be disappointed. Needless to say I was. Beautiful place and good service but the food is very bland and seems to be inconsistent. My twin had a shrimp poor boy this was her 2nd time there and she’s said it taste totally different from the first time she was there
We arrived at Triumph at 6pm on a Thursday, assuming that an hour and a half would be enough time to eat before an event at Powell. Boy were we wrong. I arrived first and ordered my drink, and waited for the rest of my party. Once my husband arrived, the waitress asked me what I would like to drink.... except I had already ordered, and 10 minutes had passed and she had clearly forgotten that I had ordered. It took another 20 minutes to even get her attention to order, and by that time the restaurant was pretty busy and we weren't sure if we would even get our food in time to make it to the show. Also, while our waitress was taking our food order, she looked behind her and noticed a two top had been seated in her section, and she rolled her eyes in front of us. Why is she complaining that she has customers to make money off of?The food FINALLY arrived after over an hour wait, and was wrong (I had asked for no red onion, and the dressing on the side for my salad, and both items were on it). We asked for the check as soon as she dropped our food off, only to find that they had charged us for two old fashioned drinks when we had only had one. We had to scarf down our food and could not take it to go, as we were going straight to Powell. She was nowhere to be found, and by that time we were afraid that we were going to be late for our event so we were forced to take the cost of the drink out of her tip. We also heard other patrons complaining that they had been charged for drinks they did not order or receive, and during a trip to the bathroom I noticed a group of people complaining that they hadn't received their food (after an hour's wait) and they were going to have to pay for their drinks and leave, so they wouldn't be late for the show. I used to work in a restaurant, so I understand that they were busy, but it was extremely chaotic, overpriced, and very poor service. Definitely not worth spending $100 for three people, we will not be going back.
We had a foursome for dinner before a concert at the Sheldon Concert Hall a couple of weeks ago. The food was pretty good, the decor nice. The server was OK, but did not bring any bread to the table. I thought she seems new and perhaps not experienced enough. When I inquired later on in the meal why there was no bread served, she said bread was by request only? An almost $30 entree with no salad and no bread? That's very unusual. Pricey for the food that was served.
READ! Honestly, I was extremely dissapointed. So we get there at 11:15 on Saturday (sat/sun brunch). No longer serving brunch. Cool I get that. (although brunch should be served until 2, that’s just my opinion though). So we order our food, have to ask for water. We are part of a large party, although we were easily accommodated being that we were the only people in the restaurant (again this is Saturday, breakfast/brunch time) Our food comes, it’s okay, nothing to write home about, then here’s the kicker, they bring food to other people after us, serving them BRUNCH ITEMS. Clearly the kitchen is able to accommodate brunch food beyond 11 am. Again this was after our non brunch food had arrived, they were clearly still cooking breakfast. Our waiter was rude. “Matter of factly” mannered when I ordered my food he responded by asking “wich ones” instead of just simply asking if Which flavor I would prefer. He was an older gentlemen. On top of this, apparently they had given the head of our party quite a bit of trouble as far as being able to accommodate her party when she called over two weeks IN ADVANCE . Again, there was LITERALLY NO ONE in this restaurant except us. Do not recommend :( uppsetting experience. Spend your brunch money elsewhere with good service and better food, and that understands that brunch is the imbetween of breakfast and lunch during which time both types of items should be available. I hate giving bad reviews. This is not something I take lightly. But two stars is generous.
Positive: beautiful interior, fresh colors and designs, museum artifacts. Edited: The breaded, fried asparagus and sauce were delicious. Negative: the turkey burger had no flavor or seasoning, the pickle and tomato were sliced so thick they squeezed out the other end when I bit into the burger. Big mess that ended up on the plate. The Coriander Cucumber Salad was literally cucumbers in vinegar - that's not a "salad" in my opinion. The waiter was horrifically cranky and unpleasant, and his backup singer (another waitress) followed him around defending him to us (was she either his sister or girlfriend?) and then gossiping about us to him privately.
Nope...not reserving my event here! Checked out website and found contact information for event coordinator hoping to reserve for our company holiday party. Young man who answered was unfriendly and curt when providing the event coordinator's contact info. When I mentioned that their website had something completely different listed, he was unapologetic and rude. If the person answering the phone can't keep it together long enough to get through a 30 second conversation with a smidge of kindness, then most likely the event would not live up to my standards either. :/ Moving on to the next venue...
I was actually really excited to go here, as I have literally been eyeing it as a go-to place before a show at Fox or Powell. But I was really disappointed. The burger tasted like it had been cooked an hour before. My duck was overdone, but evidently that was normal since it was smoked...um..... They ended up replacing both of our entrees with a pasta, which was okay but overpriced. Server was really nice, but when two out of two entrees are not great, and the replacement entree was just "acceptable", I can't say I'll go back.
The food was okay but the service was subpar. I've been a server for five years and I would pay for my customers meals before I expected them to pay for service like that. The server was nice and polite but extremely slow. She was honestly overwhelmed by the number of tables but at that point management should be stepping in. I waited forty minutes just to get the check, after our meal was complete and I sent my family out to the car out of frustration. I was surrounded by tables complaining about messed up dishes which we thankfully didn't encounter. The downside of that though is that if your food is messed up they take it off your check. If your check takes 40 minutes to get to you you still owe $80.
Upon arrival I noticed that the place was desolate. There was a sign that said please wait to be seated but there was no one at the host/hostess station to help seat us. My husband and I walked through the restaurant unaccompanied and found the rest of our party. When I sat down and picked up the menu there was a puddle of water underneath it which got on my hands and dripped onto my lap. Apparently, the waitress spilled water and didn't bother to make sure the area was thoroughly cleaned and dry. I will say the food was very good. My husband ordered the crawfish and shrimp appetizer, I ordered the goat cheese stuffed artichokes. He also ordered the Americana burger and a long island. I ordered a margarita and the drinks were not very good even after I asked to upgrade my margarita to top shelf tequila. Our waitress didn't bother to tell me how much of a difference it would be in price. I was stunned when I saw that my margarita cost $17 when we received our bill, I have never paid that much for a drink in my life! Our waitress Amy wasn't the friendliest person, nor was she very descriptive or knowledgeable when I was asking questions about the menu. All she would say is the food is good or excellent. The motorcycle museum was closed as well and no one bothered to let us know that it would be unavailable at the time of our reservation. The only reason we elected to dine at this establishment was to view the motorcycles. I also can't understand why it wasn't eplained that there would be a service charge for 9 people in our party to sit together in an empty restaurant. My final though of Triumph: The food was very good but over priced and management definitely needs to address it's service issues. Not being able to view the motorcycles, two drinks, two appetizers and one burger wasn't worth the $86.83 visit.
Nice place. Looks very nice. It's clean and smells comfortable. The food however could use a bit of help as well as some of the customer service. Had crab Benedict. Crab was pequeno(small). Eggs were underdone. English muffin wasnt toasted for the crunch u would expect and the hollandaise sauce was rather bland. For 15 bucks they could do alot better. The roasted and fried potatoes were good. Waiter was an impatient old guy with early 1900 values (didnt seem like he wanted to wait on us) Maybe because we were black.. Not sure. Everyone else was pleasant.
I walked in, sat down at the bar and after at least 5 minutes wasn't acknowledged by either of the two behind the bar. A simple "I'll be with you in a minute." would have been nice. But they kept joking around and it seemed to me, purposely not looking in my direction. This was the first time in years that I came here after having horrible service in the past. I will not make that mistake again.
My husband and I went here last night for our 3 year anniversary dinner and we were seated outside where there were several other diners enjoying the beautiful evening. Well.....we sat there for 10 minutes without being approached by a server at which point I got up and spoke with the hostess. She was "sending someone right over". Well, 5 more minutes went by at which point the romantic mood was replaced with annoyance. Needless to say we left and went to Herbie's where we should have gone in the first place. Awesome dinner, server at our table getting our drink order in less than a minute. We try to support several local restaurants and avoid the chains at all costs but we will be avoiding Triumph for good.
One star is far too many for this horrible excuse for a restaurant. Showed up for their brunch, should have known it was horrible given our table of 6 was the only patrons in the restaurant. Took 20 minutes to receive coffee, which the server messed up the quantities twice. Took 55 minutes after receiving our coffee to get our food. Half the food was cold and below room temperature. We did enjoy the sausage but everything else was simply horrible. I take customers out everyday, often visiting over 15 restaurants a week between breakfast, lunch and dinner. This is the worst restaurant I've visited from the service to the food in the past 6 years of visiting as many restaurants as I do. They really are one in a million, being the absolute worst restaurant I've ever visited. I would highly recommend you pass on any opportunity you have to dine there.
