We had a fantastic experience on our first visit. The service was superb! We both had the bouillabaisse which was phenomenal. We arrived around 630 and we were first in line and waited maybe 10 min max. The cigarette smoke from the casino really wasn't too bothersome. Will definitely be back next trip to Lake Tahoe.

I'm rating it a five just because of the food. The rest of it is as enjoyable as taking a dip in the lake Tahoe during a winter storm. This place is one of the best value seafood stew you could find in NorCal/Reno. It packs plenty of prawns, cod, crab legs, clams, mussels, and a half lobster tail. Yummy and filling, it's hard to complain. Except for the wait, you will find a line between 5 to 9pm easily and there is no way to escape it There is no reservation! And it is a long wait (1 hour) due to management induced limited seating and fellow patrons not eating shellfish in a blazing manner. Good if you are traveling solo to fill in the social gaps, but no bueno for couples, large groups nor family. Queue up, suffer the wait, and enjoy later. Worth it overall.

The Oyster bar and grill is a seafood bar serving restaurant quality fresh seafood dishes! Consisting of attentive and friendly staff ( Thank you Zack and Mack!), that provide you accurate descriptions of the dish. I tried the Bouillabaisse French Seafood Stew, Pan Roast Lobster, and Chicken Linguine which were all exquisite. The Bouillabaisse has a unique combination of oil, sauces, seasoning added on top of the fresh seafood taste. It's almost impossible to describe the otherworldly taste but imagine if you went to the cleanest beach and took that water, used it as a soup base stewing it with many different seafood and fragrant oils that is what I believe it could taste like. It was super generous with seafood having a one of a kind seafood stew taste. The Pan Roast Lobster was a creamy tomato bisque with 6 large pieces of lobster, the tomato bisque having every molecule of its creaminess gripping onto your taste buds and the fresh lobster tasting like the heart of the sea with every bite, slightly salty, really meaty and tender. The Chicken Linguine was also amazing, being really generous with the Parmesan and Chicken and having aldente linguine noodles, with a herby white wine broth gripping onto each strand of the noodles. Overall, The Oyster Bar being located in the Golden Nugget casino amazed me with its food and if I ever come back I will definitely be trying some of their other dishes. Location inside a casino, I was not sure a little bar would have great food, but I was SUPER glad i was wrong! The gumbo was so good, it was perfect! Gumbo has a little kick, but not too much. The roux was a perfect deep brown but not overly so. The seafood was very fresh. I will definitely go back for more 🥣

Best seafood stew and oyster we had ever. Oyster is so BIG and fresh and sweet! The French stew is a bit sour, sweet and fresh. We also ordered boiled clam and mussels and my son said it is like taste of ocean. The restaurant is inside the casino. There is usually a long line, but it worth of the wait.

This is a spot that you must check out when you’re in the South Lake Tahoe area! This is located in the Golden Nugget Hotel and you will be sitting at the bar. This works out since it would be easy to get the server’s attention if you needed anything. I ordered the Bouillabaisse (seafood soup) and it comes with a variety of seafood. The seafood and broth were very tasty and was enough to share with someone! You can also ask to make it spicy if you like it spicy! The staff have always been friendly and attentive. I had a glass of white wine to go with the seafood and that was a good pairing! This will be my spot to check out whenever I am in the area!

The food was GREAT!!! However the seating is LIMITED (I did not count the seats but it’s around 20ish) so I would say to get there early. I could eat the clam chowder as my main entrees or just fly in for the day for the clam chowder. My friend had the gumbo and she said it taste like her mother’s gumbo. Please make it a point to come here to eat

We ordered the jambalaya & gumbo with chicken. The food was great. I asked for a extra bread and the man only gave me 1 because thats what was in the toaster in front of him. We had some bread to go and they didnt toast it. The staff seems irritated and overworked. On our way out of the casino, one of the employees chased us down and asked me to put 0$ for tip since i decided to leave nothing (on the receipt). I put $0 said Okay and she said , "can i ask why you didnt leave a tip?" I replied "we forgot to, it was nothing personal we just didn't think about it". She replied "you didn't THINK to tip my cooks? You didn't THINK to tip my servers?" With A terrible attitude. I told her "You know what? With THAT attitude no", and walked away. Maybe she was the management, i didn't check. I usually only leave a tip if something was significant in service or even if we have extra cash on us. Mu husband ordered 2 beers and i didn't even feel comfortable asking for anything ok ther then water because of hiw busy they were. My husband usually pays and he always leaves a tip. But i paid this time. We were tired, drove 5hrs and just wanted to eat and sleep haha. I even offered to leave a tip before she got an attitude but i didnt have extra cash on me and i paid with card. This all occurred Saturday November 8th at about 2pm.

I was craving for seafoods and we found the Oyster Bar. This place is located inside the Hard Rock Cafe and has limited seatings. We arrived at around 2 and waited a little over 45 minutes to get seated. I don’t think the quality is worth the wait. It was okay. We ordered a dozen oysters, clam chowder, French seafood stew, and jambalaya. We waited another 30 minutes for the oysters to arrive, then another 30 minutes after that for the rest of the order. I usually don’t mind waiting if the food is great. I think if you can get seated without waiting (or less than 15 minute wait) then it’s worth a try.

Ordered the oyster, which tasted a bit weird and not so fresh. Ordered gumbo, add extra $4 for crab, didn’t know it was shredded crab meat, which I have no clue how much was in it, because I can barely see any, the flavor was great, a bit salty, the rice was a bit mushy. Staff was nice though.

This oyster bar is a knock-off and the food is just average. It’s nowhere near the quality of the STN Group restaurants. The ingredients didn’t feel particularly fresh, and the server didn’t even ask us what heat level we wanted for our soup—he asked other tables, just not us. Overall, the service throughout the meal was pretty mediocre.

Super busy place, but the shocking thing was the dirty bowl they served our soup in. I don’t think they ever washed it. You can see the scratches on the plaque from other people’s utensils. The stains only became visible after we ate some of the soup. The soup was great though.

We used to go there all the time, but I suppose that’s over now. I found not just one, but several bugs in the olive oil I always paired with my bread! Unbelievable!! I informed the lady in charge without making a scene, wanting to avoid scaring off customers. To my surprise, she simply apologized and quickly put it away as if nothing had happened. They cared less and nothing to make it right. Very disappointed.
