favorite sushi place in the island, been coming here for years with my family so i figured i’d leave a review :) everything is delicious, and i love bringing friends here!
Wonderful little oasis on forest ave with great sushi and respectful staff. I've been here multiple times with my wife, and the consistency has been refreshing. Highly recommend!
Sushi so fresh I could eat here everyday! Oh and they have this authentic seating section where you can sit on the floor with no shoes; loved the experience!
brought my parents here yesterday and everyone enjoyed every dish. we had the pork gyoza and grilled squid for our appetizers and they were both delicious. for our courses we had different kinds of sushi, as well as a pad thai, a pork katsu, and the salmon teriyaki. everything tasted amazing and fresh. I really LOVED the ambience. the whole place looked clean and well kept. overall the vibe was simply great. glad we gave this place a try. would definitely bring friends here next time.
This is my favorite place in Staten Island. It is soo delicious here. We come here once a montj for sure. My favorite is pork gyoza , eal avocado roll, salmon skin salad and everything with eal))). Every time we here it is the same tasty sushi. I wish we lived closer so i can go there every day😁. I guess i dont have many photos, because i cant wait. I eat as soon as it has touch my table.
It was late, Sayori was the closest Asian, we did not expect much from strip mall sushi. We were Completely Surprised! The food was great, the atmosphere is from the early 2000s, but who cares. They are not strictly Japanese, with that, and Chinese dishes on the menu. The sushi was fresh, and good portions. Try the salmon and ika for sure. The vegetarian in our party go the fried rice and veg tempura roll, both really good. The service is great. Must visit.
This is the best Japanese restaurant on SI. Its a gem. The food is magnificent, the staff is so kind, and the atmosphere is wonderful. Though they could use a better playlist haha. I recommend the Jae-gae-bok-eum and the korean soup if you wanna try something other than sushi and chicken
Yesterday my cousin and I visited this place for the first time and I must say we were very impressed by the decor, service and delicious food. Simson was our waiter who was so attentive, friendly and quick with the service. All of the appetizers and entrees was so fresh and tasty. For apps we had the shumai and gyoza 🥟 pork dumplings. For entree we had crunchy tuna and crab rolls, a volcano roll, shrimp tail roll, seafood fried rice and general Tso chicken. The interior of the restaurant was a cultural Japanese ambience from the furniture, art, and seating style. We will definitely be visiting this place again. The food and service is excellent.
This is a very nice restaurant. It is very calming here and the workers are very kind & nice. The food here tastes great aswell! The way that the food is served is something that makes you go "WOW!". Really warm. There is also an area with 4 seats per table with 2 tables; where you can lay back on the seats with a a table at a low height. It is really cozy here and I prefer to sit at that area. All in all, this restaurant is a very good one and I reccomend it to people that likes a calm, vegan friendly restaurant.
Cozy little Japanese restaurant on Forest Ave, VERY FRIENDLY STAFF there. Ms Terry is totally awesome! She makes you feel so welcome. The food is really good and portions are big and quite inexpensive. I like the Japanese music in the background . Cash or card is accepted, will definitely go back again. Thank you Terry for your awesome service!🥗🍣🥘❤🥰🥰
Sayori is a cute, Romantic Japanese restaurant with the option to seat cross-legged on mats. I love the flower decorations. The service is fast and the staff is super friendly. The chicken bi bim bob was a huge and delicious meal, complete with a salad and miso soup. We tried the delicious mango mochi ice cream as well. The price is right! Great job on providing a pleasant and enjoyable experience!
Food is good, service is good, price is right. However, there are so many other Japanese restaurants in the area and this place didn't do anything particularly notable vs the others. I felt the food was better when it was Osaka. I guess some staff may have changed since the closing and reopening as Sayori. Or maybe they are still getting back into the swing of things.
i ordered pick up last night and they contaminated all my vegetarian rolls with fish egg and some other unknown red sauce. the rolls were all messy and fell apart.
I attended this restaurant on Valentines Day with my companion and two friends. The food was wonderful but the writer was rude tu us. Treated us like she did not appreciate we being there. It felt like she, and the staff were homophobic and racist. To yop this, a racist-homophobic couple eating there coul not stop looking at us and making comments. We kept our composure and manners, finished and left knowing we will never return. Avoid if you are brown skin/black and LGTBQ. WHAT A SHAM. When it was Osaca they made tou feel wondeful.
Very bad service. She didn't come by to see if we were ok. The food was good but the service was horrible. She tried to keep the change when we asked for us. We trusted the lady with respect and she treated us badly. Its unacceptable for us to be treated this way. I would suggest no one go to this restaurant. It was a bad vibe. When I tried to help her she was very rude. She was sooo rude to us. She didn't even give us bags or anything. Truly bad service. She tried keep our money. She tried our guests horrible abd we treated her with the greatest respect.
