Run to this restaurant for dinner!! Absolutely amazing food. Service was quick and friendly. We chose here after reading other reviews and it certainly did not disappoint. We had two appetizers, deviled eggs and Brussel sprouts. Both came quickly and were perfect! Full of flavor and perfect to share. The wife ordered the chicken pot pie and I had the rotisserie chicken. Both exceeded our expectations and were large enough portions that neither of us could finish. We finished off the night with apple crisp and cannot wait for our next trip to come back again.
This place is fantastic! I kept saying, “best meal I’ve had in a really long time”. We made it in time for happy hour, so we tried the ribs and hash brown bites. Both were really great, the ribs were perfectly crispy and sauced, the pimento on top of the hash browns was next level. I thought it was a super nice touch that they brought steamed towels with the ribs. Our server Tyler was very attentive and had great suggestions. The fried chicken was killer and I loved the presentation of the chicken pot pie!
Incredible steak house with American style foods. We loved the deviled eggs and then breadpudding was phenomenal… our kids meals were their favorite as well! I am bold enough to say - our favorite restaurant in steamboat!
Great service! Boyfriend surprise me for lunch and the food was great. One of the best deviled eggs I’ve ever had and gumbo was delicious! Would recommend and will be returning
Was skeptical but very pleasantly surprised! Amazing Iceberg wedge & a 12 oz NY strip definitely on point and relatively cheap vs nearby restaurants ($44). Recommended and I’m picky.
Very good cocktails and food. I loved the espresso martini. Great service also and romantic atmosphere.
This is an Excellent addition to Steamboat Springs. The service is attentive, polite and informative. The food is delicious, flavorful and well executed. The ambience is amazing, with elegant and tasteful decor. This restaurant is sure to be a Mainstay in Downtown. Hearty, delicious portions, Well balanced cocktails, and an elevated and comfortable setting. What else could you ask for? This Restaurant should be on everyone’s shortlist.
I had an outstanding dining experience at Cypress! From the moment we walked in, the ambiance set the perfect tone for a memorable meal. The food was exceptional — each dish beautifully crafted with fresh, local ingredients, and the flavors were simply out of this world. Our waiter, Jarrett, was a standout! He was attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and made great recommendations. His friendly and professional service truly enhanced our experience. The entire team at Cypress made us feel like we were well taken care of. I highly recommend this gem for anyone looking for a top-notch dining experience in Steamboat, Colorado!
Very cool restaurant! I loved the atmosphere and the layout of the restaurant. Our server was perfect. We had the jumbo prawns and the pot roast potstickers. I had a salad and a bowl of gumbo, and my date had the chicken pot pie. Everything was delicious. Great drinks too!
Mind blowing how delicious the food was. The customer service was also on point and the head chef recommended be the pork chop which was spectacular. I would definitely recommend coming here the food is incredible and so is the service everyone is so kind.
Great place to bring a group or just sit at the bar for a quiet dinner for two. Sharing apps and entrees and dessert is the way to go IMO. I’m not a bread pudding person but could not stop eating it. Help haha
Amazing experience all around. I'm so excited to have a new great spot like this in Steamboat. We started with the prawns and pretzel bites. They were a much more elevated version of pretzel bites than I'd ever had, absolutely delicious! The burger with the pimento cheese sauce was incredible. The mudpie dessert was also a must order. Will definitely be back again soon.
The wedge salad was great, and the pork chop was cooked to juicy perfection. The atmosphere was busy, but not overwhelming loud.
Food was great and so was our waiter Nico! No complaints and I’d definitely be back again. Cornbread was giant.
Food was delicious and the portions were large. 2 of us had left overs. They do have a kids menu but not published. My kiddo opted for the meatloaf off the regular menu and loved it!
This place feels like it came out of a novel. It’s got good food and even more class. The pot pie is a warm hug from a concerned grandmother after scraping your knee in the park. Angie is one of the best bartenders I have ever had and she smiles a very appropriate amount. Not too much. Not too little. 👌🏻
Love love LOVE this new addition to steamboat! I’m a southern girl at heart and to see a southern inspired cuisine reach steamboat filled my heart with so much warmth and excitement. I believe they also have the earliest happy hour in town starting at 3:30 which is perfect for apres! Melissa yet again made this experience all the more better with her bold personality and attention to detail. I will definitely be back! Thank you cypress team ❤️
We had an excellent family dinner here. Food was great—we particularly enjoyed some of the Cajun influenced dishes. We also enjoyed the drink selection.
First of all, food was phenomenal. Everything that was cooked and brought to our table was chefs kiss, finger licking good. But man, our server on the other hand….. Dragon? Yeah….his name is Dragon. That man needs a raise!!!! Make him CEO of Cypress!!! As soon as possible!!!
Loved the food here! Great gluten free options including gf carrot cake! Atmosphere is great and service was wonderful. Highly recommend!!
This place is so bomb. the chicken pot pie was outstanding. also grit cakes and the bread pudding were incredible. Jarrett was the best server and made our night!!! He was professional, friendly, fun and willing to put up with our wild personalities. He is a gem!!! Eat here tonight!
I believe that my wife and I found our new favorite Steamboat restaurant. We spent a quiet Memorial Day evening at this Carl's makeover, and what an improvement! To sort out a very difficult meal choice, our very pleasant and helpful waitress suggested the meat loaf and Louisiana Red Fish, both of which were cooked to perfection. The sauces for each were out of this world. We could probably have made a meal of the appetizer deviled eggs, which were incredibly airy and mouth-watering, but luckily saved room for the main courses. We each barely consumed half of our entrees, leaving an entire meal of left-overs to look forward to. The signature cocktails and wine list were excellent, with a varied selection of very moderately-priced wines and spirits. We can't wait to return.
Went here for dinner with a special someone and had an amazing time! Our server was Laurel and she was spectacular, the support staff was on top of it and graced us with kindness. The manager was super sweet and we absolutely loved our time spending the evening with Cypress. Thank you so much for an amazing experience!
What a great experience! Our food server was personable and super friendly. Our 7 and 5 year old grandsons had a great time too as the food they ordered was too their liking. We started with honey Brussel sprouts. YUMMY!! Everyone had something different and everyone truly enjoyed their meal. Great place, would happily go there again!
We just had a fantastic meal here. From start to finish, it was delicious. We started during local hour, but were so happy there we stayed through dinner too. Great cocktails and steak Diane. Don’t skip the deviled eggs and Brussel sprouts, they are some of the best o have ever tasted. Our server, Zach was fun and attentive. Thank you for an overall A+ experience
We came in with a reservation with my family, the service was absolutely wonderful. Carter served us and knocked it out of the park. The carrot cake is to die for, and if you have room for it you absolutely must order the clarified punch when the dessert menu comes. The entrees are all pretty big, but split an appetizer or two if you are looking to get something to start. The pork chop, steak frites, rotisserie AND fried chicken, and the meatloaf are phenomenal. I’m sure everything else is good but that’s what we ordered, it was all great. Come in, bring the folks, have a nice time. The restaurant features their cocktails and I do highly recommend most of them. We will be back.
Could not ask for a more enjoyable evening out! Cypress has a lot to be proud of... The atmosphere is upscale yet cozy, blending contemporary lines with rustic comfort. Their entire restaurant team worked well as one cohesive unit, and the food was spectacular (I'm getting the pork chop every time from now on!) Definitely putting this place on the favorites list for our next visit, thanks to everyone at Cypress for a wonderful dinner!
I’ve dined here twice now! The chicken pot pie was phenomenal and I absolutely loved the meatloaf! My daughter and I shared the bid-ness and she couldn’t get enough! Our service was great and one of the ladies, Melissa was knowledgeable about some events that were going on around town for kiddos. She also never let our water glasses go empty! I highly recommend!
I finally got to eat at Cypress, a fantastic new addition to the Steamboat dining scene led by chef Collin Kelley and his amazing team. I was blown away by the incredible remodel of his former restaurant, what a great comeback story! It’s clear Collin poured his heart into every detail—creating a cozy, inviting atmosphere with great design elements to anchor the space. Carl's old horseshoe bar is still very much intact! The food? Absolutely stellar of course. Every dish was thoughtfully crafted, showcasing fresh ingredients and Southern comfort food stamped with Collin's style. The attention to detail in both presentation and taste is impressive. Top dishes for me so far are the confit chicken pot pie and the pork chop, but I have my eye on several others including Craig's meatloaf. Don't miss the infinity barrel old fashioned to start! Cypress has not only elevated the local dining experience but also created a space where you feel at home. I can’t wait to return and bring more friends to experience it. Highly recommend making a reservation—you’ll want to savor every moment here!
I had the pleasure of visiting Cypress today for lunch, and of course it was an incredible experience! The decor was modern yet cozy, with tasteful touches that made it feel both chic and comfortable. The staff was friendly and attentive, immediately making us feel welcome. Every dish was made from scratch with the highest quality ingredients and crafted to perfection. You can really taste the difference in the fresh, vibrant flavors. It’s clear that a lot of thought and care went into every aspect, from the food to the ambiance. I’ll definitely be back, and I’m sure it’s going to be a new favorite for many. Highly recommend!
The chicken pot pie was amazingly delicious, the service was impeccable and the ambience was elegant casual. Cypress is a must visit in Steamboat Springs, CO!
Best restaurant in steamboat springs hands down. The menu is well-curated and isn’t trying to do much (i.e., cleanly one genre). The food is extremely fresh, high-quality ingredients, and each dish has a small-twist/original take on classics. The servers are extremely attentive, friendly, & welcoming.
AMAZING food, one of the best restaurants in CO. When my friend and I went there we ended up just doing 5 or 6 appetizers. The baked oysters are not to be missed, probably the best baked oysters I’ve ever had and grew up next to the ocean.
A very nice experience tonight visiting a new addition (and renovation) to Downtown Steamboat. Great cocktails, and service which is expected from the new ownership with great reputations. Classy vibes, toned down with televisions to keep things less fussy and the separate dining areas are possibly my favorite thing about the newly renovated restaurant. Many dining areas with different vibes from all of them, and can't leave out the new private glassed off dining area for groups and work parties. Great job the the team and good luck. I will be most certainly be back.
Out with the family for an unplanned dinner...We were dropped off downtown and walked around looking at restaurants and their menus...old school fashion. Luckily we found Cypress. The Owner, Collin, was at the check-in stand and overheard our conversation asking about wait times as it was a busy Saturday night. He graciously created availability for our family. The food, atmosphere, and service were tremendous. It is low-key one of the best restaurants we have visited while on ANY vacation. The serving sizes were ample and filling. We dined on the brussel sprouts, pork chop, chicken fried steak, Caesar salad, hamburger, and baked chicken. Each dish had a southern flair full of flavor and confidence. Pro tip: the blue cheese stuffed olives were large, oily, and flavorful. Best olive I've eaten. Pro tip 2: if you like pimento cheese, find a way to get a small serving. It comes on the burger and is out of this world good. Our server, Dragon, was outstanding. He was great in answering questions about the menu, substituting any food concerns, and let us enjoy our dinner without being pushy or inattentive. Collin - Thank you for an incredible meal and creating a special experience for my family and many, many others. I wish you continued success.
The absolute BEST deviled eggs you'll ever try! They come with a crispy fried chicken skin on top that is to die for, and they are very fairly priced (you get 6). For dinner, give the redfish a go, you will not be disappointed! For drinks, Nate is your go to guy, super friendly and always carries a warm welcoming smile 😃
Absolutely wonderful stop on our wondering through northern Colorado!! Food is absolutely delicious and the same as everywhere else. They were more than willing to make minor changes for us. The best part was the service. Tyler and Beth are so so nice! We had the best time and will definitely be back.
The atmosphere, service, and food were amazing! I’m not a big meatloaf fan, but heard that’s one of their specialties and went for it. It was the best I’ve ever had. My partner loved his chicken leg potpie
Best pork chop I’ve ever had. About an inch thick and cooked perfectly. They roast it to temp and finish it on the grill and add a pan sauce. Huge portion too. Ended the meal with apple crumb cake with ice cream. Highly recommend…just don’t order a salad there.
Amazing food and amazing service. Bartender Sam recommended me Chicken confit pot pie and it was one of the best dishes I had in a long time. Thank you Sam! Definitely will come back again.
Great place! Really nice atmosphere, along quiet Yampa street. Great patio too. Service was super attentive and friendly. Food was really good - the Louisiana Red Fish was a standout.
Shoutout to my man I think it’s spelled Odin he was just awesome and really nice. Other than that the food had room to improve but not too bad.
Bold coming to steamboat with southern food that is flavorless, if you’re going to do gumbo, you can’t skimp out on the flavor! Food was mid, wait staff was very very nice! Our waiter was from Georgia and he hadn’t even tried the shrimp and grits, not a good sign! Prices were very high for quality.
Came to Cypress tonight after making a reservation over a month ago. Was seated in a no man’s land table between the main dining area and a private area. Couldn’t have felt more like an after thought between the location and the service. We had the pot stickers which tasted like chewy shredded meat, broccolini which was ice cold, the chicken pot pie which was fine. Not great but not bad. Was a lot of chicken, no potatoes. Carrot cake dessert was nice. Overall not sure I would go back. Disappointed to say the least
Decent food but over priced as most places are in Ski towns. They do charge some kind of 3% junk fee they called a "LWD" fee. Encountered another local joint that charge some 2% rip off fee they said was for recruitment and retention of kitchen staff. Anytime I see those fees, they come right off the tip. Junk fees are becoming more common with restaurants. I usually never go back to those places and I won't this one.
The food here was great. The cornbread was great. Our server was great as well. Then I got the bill and saw the “LWD Fee” line item. Being from out of town, I asked her what that was. She said she didn’t know and took the receipt to her manager and asked. I watched her talk to him and she came back and explained it was a Living Wage Discrepancy Fee. She also told me that he was a new “State Law.” I can’t say for 100% that the menu had a notice about such a fee added to every bill, but this was the first I had seen anything like this. Since our dinner experience last week, I could not find any articles about Colorado passing this State Law. I did find a lot of stories about how restaurants are adding this ‘fee’ to their bills. Well, I am not a fan of such Leftist-Progressive non-sense. I do not support these made up economic theories either. Especially when it doesn’t appear to be transparent. I’m really not a fan of being lied to either. We have since visited two breweries, a coffee shop and two additional restaurants in town and none have charged this State Law Fee. I would have said something to the manager at the time, but this was our first night in town and took him at his word.
Reservation cancellation fee was $20/person so we moved our reservation to the only time the next day they had available which was 8:30pm, even though the restaurant was half empty when we arrived. At 9:30pm when we were waiting for our dessert to come out they started putting the chairs up. The waitress was very friendly, however she tried taking away plates before some of us were finished. Overall we felt very rushed and that they shouldn’t be taking reservations that late. The fried chicken was good, two of my friends got food poisoning from the gumbo. In addition, the apple crisp came out frozen. They comped another dessert for us which was appreciated. Hoping this restaurant improves since everyone that worked there was really nice.
We had made reservations months ago as we were coming from out of town. Took 30 minutes to get seated. Took another 30 minutes to even get greeted by our waiter. An hour later we got to put in our order. Our server was nice and seemed busy but definitely ignored us many times. Refilled waters which was great. Appetizers - ribs, oysters & Brussels were phenomenal. Pork chop was not the best. A little undercooked and not much flavor even with the sauce. Meatloaf was average. The service and lack of organization with turning tables to get people out of there to get more in was not impressive. Overpriced for average food. Don’t expect anything amazing out of this place.
I had really high hopes for Cypress. I was prompted to make a deposit when making the reservation. We arrived at our reservation time and were seated. However, we were not served for almost 30 minutes. I finally decided to speak up, which I never do, and asked if we could please at least get water. We then were finally asked for our order, received our food, and had the waiter come back only one time (which was to receive our food). The food was subpar, kind of bland, and we ended up spending over $100. Once again, I wish I had a better experience, but I was very disappointed and will not be coming back.
Terrible experience terrible customer service daughter was sick couldn’t make it and called in advance few hours before reservation and they accepted it and charged me $250 that is unfair in a slow season as well when we still cancelled, as patrons who come to steamboat yearly we will never come here and will never refer any of my clients here when trying to call the front they were extremely rude on top it please don’t come to this restaurant
