Incredible place, incredible food! We decided to stop at Yampa for brunch during our first time in Steamboat, and wow — what a great choice. Our server, David, was so kind and attentive. We were especially impressed by how well he described the menu items… we ended up ordering everything he recommended and have zero regrets! The portions are generous, and I highly recommend the pistachio matcha, huevos rancheros (easily enough for two people), veggie omelet, and the star of the show: the chocolate crepe. Can’t wait to come back and explore more of the menu! Also highly recommend checking out their other location, Besame, where we had an incredible dinner experience 💚
Ambiance: 9 Service: 9.5 Taste: 8.8 Value: 8.6 Quality: 9.1 Cleanliness: 8.9 Met Expectations: 9.9 Overall: 91/100 Price: $$ YVK, while I'm sure it is stunning for dinner, absolutely rocks as a brunch place. It's well lit and bright, helping even those with the groggiest of starts get a bit of pep in their step. They offer an eclectic menu with some unique offerings, which I appreciate them pushing and seeking for just downright good grub. I ordered the Fernet Mojito along with a London fog. The name Fernet Mojito is no lie, Fernet definitely shines here underscored by the rum, mint, and citrus. It's a refreshing cocktail, plus it has complexity from the herbal liqueur addition. The London fog was good, but I personally didn't appreciate the addition of the rose on top. That was easily fixed, though. I simply plucked it right out (I will note, the menu makes no mention of this addition). For the meal, I had the Blue Suede Shoes Grilled Cheese. It's an excellent example of what a grilled cheese can be. Cheese is included, of course, but then blueberry jam, caramelized onions, and thyme are added in. To top it all of (literally), a very generous parmesan crust with melted in jalapeños. I may never make a grilled cheese ever again without a parmesan crust. The jam was good, but it you order this, I recommend ordering more on the side, I could have used more, anyways. Greasy, cheesy, and a delight for brunch. For the sides I had potatoes and some yuzu pickles. The potatoes are good, nothing to rave about. I personally enjoyed the yuzu pickles. The yuzu wasn't certainly there. Members of my table didn't love them because "they're sweet." Eh, personal preference with that. Overall, a terrific brunch experience was had by my party. There was a dirty water glass on our table, hence the slight docking on cleanliness. If you're in Steamboat, I'd consider this a must try for breakfast or brunch.
Yamp River Kitchen is amazing! We got old fashioneds, focaccia bread and mushroom bisque for happy hour, then ordered beef short ribs, steak au poivre, and a bottle of French wine for dinner, then shared black forest mousse for dessert. OMG, it was ALL SOOO GOOD!!! We ate less than half our entrees, as the servings were very generous, so will enjoy leftovers when we get home. Ciara provided fantastic service, too! Highly recommend!!!
Excellent place with great food. While it has an elegance that would speak to finer dining we found the actual dining accessible and even had small children they were more than happy to accommodate. Good drinks and good food, would definitely eat again
We love this place for brunch and dinner with the fam. 💜 Esthetically pleasing interior. When the weather is warm it’s a special treat to seat on a beautiful patio surrounded by bushes, trees and the garden. Today I had French omelet. I have tried almost everything on the menu and honestly everything is pretty amazing. The team is friendly, the representation of every dish is vibrant. We really hope wagyu steak and eggs will come back on the menu. 🙏🏻 Green juice does not have any sweet juice adding and we love it.👌 coffee is great. 🌸 Parking is easy on the street. It’s a quiet neighborhood. Edit: usually we have brunch here but recently we tried dinner and I was impressed! Everything was delicious! Definitely we’ll be back!
This place has a very fun and unique menu! I enjoyed trying one of their mocktails ( the orange julia), their pistachio matcha latte and the honey coconut latte ! The food was really good too! We ordered the burgers ! Apart from this the service was wonderful and the atmosphere was great! Like a beautiful garden.
**Yampa Valley Kitchen: A Culinary Gem in Steamboat Springs** Nestled in the charming town of Steamboat Springs, Colorado, Yampa Valley Kitchen is a culinary haven that has quickly become the highlight of my dining experiences. Frequenting this delightful restaurant at least once or twice a week all summer long, I can confidently say it offers the freshest and most beautifully presented dishes in town. Unlike the many other fine dining establishments in Steamboat Springs, which often feature glamorous meat entrées, Yampa Valley Kitchen shines with its focus on fresh ingredients and exquisite presentation. The restaurant boasts lovely outdoor gardens, filled with herbs and flowers that are incorporated into their dishes. These gardens provide a serene and picturesque setting, perfect for a leisurely meal with friends, family, or business associates. The menu at Yampa Valley Kitchen is diverse and caters to all tastes. For breakfast, their avocado toast is a California dream, while the eggs Benedict with smoked salmon is a must-try. Another standout is the French toast with Foster bananas, which is a delightful treat. Each dish, no matter how simple, is elevated with fresh herbs and vibrant presentation. The freshly mixed vegetable juices are a refreshing complement to any meal, and the selection of teas, served in elegant tea presses, adds a special touch to the dining experience. Inside, the ambiance is equally inviting. The air-conditioned dining room features charming music, a great bar, and spotless bathrooms. However, my favorite spot remains the outdoor garden, where the beauty of the surroundings enhances the pleasure of the meal. Dinner at Yampa Valley Kitchen is nothing short of spectacular. The mushroom soup is rich and flavorful, and the salmon is cooked to perfection. One of the absolute highlights is the truffle fries, topped with truffle oil and freshly grated Parmesan cheese—simply the best fries in Steamboat Springs. What sets Yampa Valley Kitchen apart is not just the quality of the food, but the overall dining experience. The attention to detail in both service and presentation is remarkable. The staff’s dedication to creating fabulous food and a welcoming atmosphere is evident in every aspect of the restaurant. Yampa Valley Kitchen is truly a special place to eat. It’s my favorite dining spot in Steamboat Springs, and I’m not alone in my admiration. Each visit reaffirms why I keep coming back, and I am always eager to return. My heartfelt thanks to the staff for their exceptional work in making each meal a memorable experience.
TL;DR The food here was so good, we came back for breakfast the next morning. So, Steamboat is very clearly a “foodie” sort of town, and there are a ton of options to choose from, but I implore you to choose this restaurant over others. We arrived in the early evening while traveling through Colorado on our honeymoon looking for food, and a comment made by a coworker of mine lead us to look at Yampa Valley Kitchen. Luckily for us, they have apparently only just started doing dinner service in addition to their breakfast. There is street parking, though we wanted to walk “the main drag” and look at the stores downtown so we parked in the free public parking lot about half a block away. When you walk up, the first thing you notice about this restaurant is how cute the outdoors area is. The landscaping around the building is very carefully curated and maintained with love, and the sedum growing along the sidewalk towards the entrance is some of the biggest and showiest I’ve ever seen. From the outside it looks simultaneously somewhere between a modern home and a cozy cottage. The interior I would describe wholly as a “Cottagecore” aesthetic. It was very cute, very cozy, and we walked in within a few minutes of them opening for dinner. We were greeted by Julia, whom I will say had a delightful British accent that only made the cozy cottage feel even more authentic. We started by splitting a bowl of the soup of the day, which was chicken and mushroom soup with some gruyere toast, which was excellent. Julia did a very detailed description of it, and it sounded so good we couldn’t pass it up. I’m glad we didn’t. As for dinner, we both opted to go with the waygu steak au poivre with peppercorn sauce and truffle fries. The steak was melt-in-your-mouth tender and the sauce was absolutely excellent. I was incredibly surprised to learn that they had only just started doing dinner with how completely and perfectly they nailed it. I will be very upfront in saying, I don’t generally care for truffle fries. I feel like the majority of them I have had in the past have been drowned in oil and restaurants that do them overdo it to death, relying heavily on that flavor. It was subtle, but present. I ate them all. This was easily one of the top five best meals that I have ever eaten. I am incredibly glad we came. We were so impressed with the food and enamored with the atmosphere and Julia’s service that we came back the next morning for breakfast. We had every option in Steamboat available to us, and yet both of us just wanted to come back and experience the breakfast here. She opted for the bananas foster French toast and I got the California dreamin eggs Benedict. Just as the evening before it was absolutely perfect. Maddie was our server in the morning and was quick and attentive. I also had a great chat about the landscaping with the host, whose name regrettably escapes me this exact moment. Everyone is super friendly, the atmosphere is cherry and cozy and I would recommend this restaurant to anyone going to Steamboat . Thank you all for such a wonderful experience and another great memory to add to our honeymoon trip!
Potentially the best chicken sandwich I’ve ever had, cute atmosphere, good truffle fries and the Reuben had a nice twist with kimchi instead of sauerkraut. Nice cute spot!
Cute spot off the main road! The atmosphere was adorable, service was good and so was the food. It took a little long to get to the table, even though it wasn’t busy but we weren’t in a rush. We got the lemon crepe to share at the table, it was delicious. Fyi chantilly cream is just whipped cream lol. I got biscuits and gravy, the biscuit was really good, gravy was tasty and the eggs were super fluffy.
Amazing place, our server Anthony was an absolute gem and went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful experience. Will be back!
We went here for Thanksgiving dinner and it was great! Great service, great food, and fair pricing for the quality! Definitely recommend
First time in Steamboat Springs and saw this restaurant on TikTok so we decided to try it. Walking up to the restaurant I knew we made a good choice. I’m very picky about ingredients and clean food. I would definitely return to this restaurant!! A treat yourself kinda place. My crepes were so delicious.
This is such a peaceful spot for American food with an Asian twist. The cocktail menu is inventive and fun and the ingredients are very fresh. Our group covered a lot of the menu. Everything was delicious except the Thai salad which was a bit bland.
Think of it as Brooklyn comes to Steamboat Springs. Great place for breakfast or lunch. Call ahead they usually have a wait. Yampa Valley Kitchen in Steamboat delivers an unforgettable dining experience. The ambiance is inviting, and the staff really knows their stuff. The farm-to-table approach shines through in every dish, making it more than just a meal. I felt taken care of and left satisfied. Five stars and highly recommended.
Delicious lunch today here! Loved the bright atmosphere, the great customer care, and the delicious local food, focused on Ag Week this week! The Frittata was delicious, as was the homemade Veggie Burger and truffle fries! The Carrot 20/20 juice and the Golden Milk latte were also delicious! Every little care to detail was considered! We'll be back!
Great menu! Justin helped narrow it down from a ton of great options to the Huevos Rancheros. Huge portion and good to the last bite. Looking forward to another visit to try more things.
This is by far the cutest breakfast place I have been to in a long time and I absolutely adore the unique options from late's and crepes. The service was great and the food delicious. We hope to be back one more time before we leave Colorado
Outstanding! Fantastic food with a creative and modern twist on ingredients without going too far. Friendly and knowledgeable service in the cutest cozy and warm atmosphere!! Wonderful lunch and drinks. I highly recommend the Wagu and the crab bisque was amazing!!
Great food, seemed like they might have been short staffed but isn’t that every business today. Workers were great and they scrambled to get it done. Every plate at our table was amazing.
They have a unique, interesting menu! Lots of fresh juices and tea/coffee drinks, plus a full bar with creative cocktails and mocktails. There’s a beautiful outdoor patio with yard games, and the interior has been beautifully remodeled. We loved this place! Hubby had the pastrami, I had the rösti, our daughter had the grilled cheese.
Great spot in the early summer. The outdoor garden is fantastic. The food is really good, certainly worth the visit. This was the best place in steamboat for breakfast. We tried 4 others and we returned here.
Very cute indoor and outdoor seating options! Avocado toast was fresh and super yummy! I suggest making a reservation because it can get busy. Nice service! Cute spot for brunch and lunch!
The YV kitchen is always the place to go when in town, both breakfast and lunch have fantastic options breakfast I love their white balsamic greens as a side. The chai latte was so good. I didn’t order it but was able to taste it and I wish I had to order it. They used to have a Fish Kraft for the water that used to glug when you pour but seems like they don’t have them anymore, but that’s just an oversight. I ordered the I think American breakfast, which had two eggs meat of choice bread of choice and it was delicious. We also ordered the hazelnut crêpe which isn’t pictured, but is so delicious. This place is by far the best in Colorado
Delicious and carefully sourced. They have a full selection of cocktails that they make with or without alcohol. Food was very good. Their veggie burger is made in house which is always a plus. Very tasty! I started with the Bok Choy Salad and had the veggie patty with the YVK burger fixings with the Orange Julius 0-proof cocktail. Staff was great!
Very expensive for a quick casual lunch- but at least it was worth it. Incredibleeeee food, and unique twists to normal food options.
Finally, I got around to having a meal at the Yampa Valley Kitchen, and what can I say? I am impressed. YVK has this wonderful sunny ranch house vibe that welcomes you into its well lit dining room. The staff there were amazing and very friendly. Their menu reminds me of upscale home style cooking. Everything is made from scratch and is peaced together wonderfully. I had the potato chips and onion dip as an apatizer, and it was wonderful. It reminded me of having that as a snack as a kid. For my main dish, I had the Muther Klucker sandwich. The chicken was cooked perfectly, and the combination of sauces and topings gave the sandwich completely that I got to enjoy even after I was done with my bite. I particularly loved the suttle sweet spicy that lingered between bites. All in all, I highly recommend stopping by. It's a great place to eat. Be warned you are looking at the higher end for prices, my non alcoholic drink, app, and meal came out to be about $50. I would definitely say the food is appropriately priced as it is clearly hand crafted. 10/10 I would recommend. I almost forgot to mention. YVK has the best French Fries in Steamboat Springs Colorado🏆🏆🏆
Such a great spot in Steamboat. One of the go to if your into hip, stylish, quaint, quality, and delicious restaurant. Brunch and lunch are my go to. We always stop here anytime I’m in town.
I thoroughly enjoyed the food, so much, that I came back the next day and ordered again. I tried all the smoothies and juice, and a few of the coffee drinks, had breakfast 2x and lunch 2x. As a visitor from Boston, I was seeking a restaurant/cafe that allowed for me to do my work remotely (good wifi was essential) and more importantly, that the ingredients were locally sourced from farms in the nearby area. Kitchen had it all and the cherry on top was the hospitality. The staff and owner were delightful and kind. I can't wait to visit this place again!
Quaint little garden home with thoughtful bites and creative coffee and cocktails (proof and zero proof). Got the smoked trout Benedict and it was yum! The cinnamon toast crunch latte was special, too!
Omg beautiful building! The omelet I had, changed my view on how omelets should be! The staff was attentive and friendly, and a spot I wish I had the chance to visit again! If you're out that way, stop by!
Beautiful place in a quiet neighborhood but near the heart of Downtown. Really beautiful atmosphere looks like a former home so very cozy, great patios, and the food and cocktails were outstanding. Our server was super friendly and prompt once he came to wait on us (just a little delay there at first!)
My family and I ate lunch/brunch here today last minute. We saw it across the street of where we originally planned to eat and thought we’d take a chance, because it looks adorable from the outside. Well it’s equally as adorable inside as well. The staff got us sat right away and the food was amazing all around. So glad we chose Yampa Valley Kitchen before heading back home.
Excellent dining experience. Every appetizer is done perfectly. Staff is superb. The salmon was wow.
Honestly 10/10!!! Everything was sooooo good! I’m still thinking about my meal weeks later. The blueberry matcha was absolutely perfect. The salmons eggs Benedict w focaccia was phenomenal! Vibe of restaurant was so cute and charming and chill. I can’t recommend it enough, truly. Excited to come back whenever we go back to steamboat!
We had a delightful meal here, came for happy hour. The garden salad was fresh and had nice flavor, truffle fries were great, chicken sandwich was crispy and delicious, and they have great cocktails too. Service was attentive and very helpful. Nice ambience as well. Will come back next time we’re in steamboat!
Our favorite dining in Steamboat. I could eat here once a week if I lived closer. The place is cute as a button, top notch service and the food is beyond wonderful whether you are eating breakfast, lunch or dinner. This might actually be one of the best places I have ever eaten period. I love it so much I bought a coffee mug for home.
This is the cutest restaurant in steamboat! My family and I sat outside where the atmosphere was nice and relaxing. I got the chicken sandwich with a large portion of fries. I personally didn’t feel the flavors on the sandwich went well together, so it wasn’t my favorite dish. All the other members in my group enjoyed their meals though. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Steamboat!
Such a cute little place! I really enjoyed my wine and appetizer truffle fries. The ambiance and service was really great. I will say my salad was not very filling and was more aesthetic than anything. The salmon was good though! Would definitely go back it was really cute:)
Delicious food and coffee. My wife and I love all of the food that we have tried here over the last few years. The service can be exceptional or average. Certainly an excellent choice for breakfast or lunch. Reservations are encouraged, since it doesn’t have a very large seating capacity.
If it wasn’t for the rude service my husband and I received eating at the bar yesterday at lunch, I would have given Yampa Valley Kitchen five stars. We had bok choy salad and the salmon sesame bowls. Both of generous portions and tasty. The salmon bowl was a touch salty.
The meal here was really good but the only problem I really had here was the Korean rice bowl, and it was just one thing. The rice was just mushy and it didn't taste like they washed it or they put too much water to cook with it but everything on the dish was well balanced and worked together. The service could have been a little bit faster in my opinion, but that's just me. They have a very nice patio view also. If you're ever in a steamboat you should definitely check them out and try them out. I just hope next time if I'm there. I have a perfectly balanced dish with good rice.
I wanted to give Yampa Valley Kitchen more stars, especially because I love its sister restaurants (Mambo and Besame). However, the food was not up to the standard of the other restaurants. All of the potatoes we were served (in the rosti, the home fries, and the side of french fries) were overcooked - not exactly burnt, but so overly crispy that there was no moisture left. Very disappointing. The service and the atmosphere were great - the staff was accommodating of our dog (who can only be in one half of the garden), and the garden itself is beautiful. The interior of the restaurant feels like stepping back into a quaint historical cabin... Which you are. But there definitely needs to be better quality control on the food coming out of the kitchen. I might visit again for the atmosphere, and hope that the potatoes were a fluke.
Very cool and cozy place for breakfast. I was really wanting this place to be our new favorite breakfast place in Steamboat. The hostess that was working on Sunday 5/23/21 was extremely rude and that alone had us thinking of leaving. The food took awhile to arrive but was fresh and had great taste. I will try this place one more time and I hope it’s a better experience.
Disappointed, clearly they are not operating on the same standards of quality for weekday versus weekend service. I brought my parents here this morning and I will not be returning, or recommending this restaurant to any guests from the front desk at the Fairfield. Burnt bacon, returned, raw bacon, not consumed, because sending it back clearly did not help. Burnt omelet returned and remedied, we should have returned both omelets, but did not. My Dad’s sausage gravy had a cinnamon taste, whoever was in the kitchen today was struggling. Unapologetic service. Attached photo is bacon that we brought home to be cooked to give to our pups. The inconsistent cooking method is clear from the burnt end and uncooked centers.
My son wanted to treat his mom for significant birthday dinner. He changed the reservation a couple of times ahead with the hostess that we dealt with at the front. At 8 pm and a practically empty dining room, we were given the choice of a tiny table in back or an equally small high top table. Let me preface this by stating my son was in a full arm cast due to a shattered elbow. No room for his arm to rest. From the start, I felt an attitude, but ignored it. The server was pleasant but showed up infrequently and spent most of her time with a loud, partying 20-something aged party behind us. We spent the last 20 min waiting for dishes to be cleared and a check while the host sprayed and cleaned large table next to us with a rag. Unappetizing— and though it was only a $100 bill it was a big expenditure for him. Too bad, but as a former employee of fine dining industry on East coast I was turned off by A. Attitude B. Poor service C. Birthday celebration unremarkable. Food presentation good, but the night was overshadowed by an air of arrogance. Too bad, cute setting.
I came in on a Monday this week. The Tuna Sammy was the only thing that put this review at a two, great Sammy. However, the service was awful. I sat at the bar on my hour lunch break. there was only 4 people sitting at the bar and looked like they had already ordered. Took at least 15 minutes for the bartender to acknowledge me. Saw her making drinks for server tickets (completely get it ), then saw her finish an no sense of urgency or effort to get to me. No water no menu, luckily I had plenty of time to look up menu on phone. When she finally got to me I ordered right away and she gave me a Kraft of water and a glass. Food came out and the bartender never checked on me, never asked if everything was ok or if I needed something. Yes, I did need something, a napkin. Had to get up and go get it myself because the bartender was no where to be found. Lets just say I have been in the restaurant business and this is not good or acceptable bar service when your bar isn't full. To add to it no smile or good vibes while she was supposedly too busy to get to me. For the price of the food I would expect a more friendly and more attentive bartender. Its mud season, means lots of locals especially on a monday. Didn't even dare ask for my favorite Pitashio Matcha latte since the service was so bad and I had time constraints. This is why I guess more and more locals are staying home because the price and service around here is not worth it. I also love spending money on all the foodie things but not when the price isn't worth it for the whole experience. DO BETTER STEAMBOAT RESTAURANTS!!
After standing in line at host stand for 15 minutes, the hostess took a phone call in front of our face accepting a reservation for a table 20 minutes later that same day. She then greeted us and said it would be an hour and a half wait. She was incredibly pompous in her claim that there was no availability. It may seem minor, but it was one of the most rude experiences I have ever had at a restaurant.
My wife and I arrived at approx 10:30 for breakfast. 8/10/25 without a reservation. We waited at the hostess stand for about 10 mins along with a family of 4 behind us. A lady who appeared to be the manager finally showed up and answered a phone call as we are standing there. After the phone call she asked for our reservation. We told her that we don't have one along with the family behind us. And she told us the next opening is at 1:30. Really? There's one person sitting at the bar and maybe one table occupied inside. Pretty much open inside! People were seated outside front and back but not entirely full. We've been there a couple of times and the first time was amazing. The second time she appeared to be the manager and it was not a good experience. The food was atleast 40mins late and she offered us some cold tomato soup to make up for the delay. Not good! On a different but relatable topic, we love Mambo! Apparently the same company. It is ran extremely well! The food, service, everything at Mambo is Amazing! Im sorry to say that it's obvious that Yampa Valley Kitchen seems to be struggling. As we left I noticed the other family walked down the street for burritos and we went to Winonas. They had a 15min wait, not a 2.5 to a 3hr. wait at Yampa Valley Kitchen.
We were waiting in line to be seated while the hostess asked us to wait while she took a phone call for someone who made a reservation for 15 mins from then as soon as we got to the host stand she said sorry it’s going to be 1.5 hours before we can seat you. Super rude and unprofessional. Y’all need to work on how you handle same day reservations, do a waitlist don’t make someone in person wait for someone who calls in.
