When I come out to visit Setauket to see my mom, I always stop by Bagel Cafe Stonybrook. Bar far the best bagels in the neighborhood. Recently, I got some baked white fish salad and baked salmon salad as a treat for my mom. Coming from Brooklyn, she said it was the best she has ever had. Don’t take that lightly! Great bagels and extremely nice staff.

Don’t go here for the service, not much of that here. Maybe if they spoke up so they could be heard… or didn’t act like you’re saying something stupid when you ask for an item on the menu it would be better. Yes Sundried Tomato and Jalapeño is on the menu, I didn’t make it up (and it’s really good too) BUT do go here for a bagel and cream cheese. Got myself an everything bagel with Sundried Tomato and Jalapeño creame cheese and could not be happier. Price is great and taste is on point.

Simply put this is a great bagel place. You can get a nice breakfast here and they do have some lunch items as well. They do offer catering in the way of 3-6 foot heroes as well. Whenever my wife and I are in the area we stop by for breakfast.

The item that I purchased a wrap with eggs and lox was so greasy was dripping all over the plate leaving quite the puddle on the plate and the bread was soaked with grease

People who work here are always super nice and I have been coming here for over 15 years! I think the owner needs to stardarize the training for each and single employee. For example: -What is the difference between not toasted and lightly toasted? - how much cream cheese needs to be added for each order. I ordered an everything bagel, lightly toasted with cream cheese… what I got was a lightly toasted bagel with practically NO cream cheese (see pictured below). Ok people make mistakes…no problem. So I’m still hungry and decide to order a second bagel……egg everything lightly toasted with cream cheese.. what I got was a burnt bagel (see picture below) with a good portion of cream cheese.. so consistency wasn’t there. Bagel was burnt and not edible. So will I come here again? Probably yes since the people who work regularly are super nice and respectful. I just wish every member was trained equally so these mistakes don’t happen.

Bec very mid, sad excuse for bacon and barely gave me any the eggs were good though, forgot my $7 scalion cream cheese bagel- order was doordashed (inflated prices not the stores fault that's on doordash) but now i cant even get my bagel only a refund(again not the stores fault)

Will never return many other options for a bagel/egg sandwich.. came in and was 1 of 3 costumers waited 20 minutes for an eggsandwhich. Big guy behind counter walks like he has cement shoes on his pants are falling off like people want to see his dirty draws before eating their breakfast. I was asked 3 different times what my order was after it was written down on the first attempt. Pathetic service

Came in at 230 pm today 9/10 and was told I could not have a chicken salad wrap made because everything is off? All the stuff was wrapped and cleaned down. I understand you're cleaning yo close but I can't get a chicken salad wrap 30 min prior to closing? If that's the case you should close at 230 and then clean up to leave at 3. Not cool and never coming back, this on top of the incredibly high prices. No thanks

This place absolutely SUCKS! Not sure if they are under new owners or something but whoever is in charge needs to know that their staff is absolutely horrible! Ask to take your order without actually looking at you then get annoyed when you don’t answer because you have no idea who they are talking to. They even seem annoyed to do their actual job! I watch one employee roll her eyes when someone walked up with a drink and chip. Your job is to make orders and ring people up. If you don’t like it quit and find a new job. Aside from the horrible customer service the quality of food has significantly dropped and the bagels taste that cardboard. Also way too expensive! DO NOT EVEN TRY THIS PLACE!! It’s not worth your time or money

Was on my way somewhere and in a hurry stopped here to try. Got two everything bagels with cream cheese. As u can see its a little burnt first of all. Secondly, there are way too many poppyseeds, and theres ZERO salt. At all. Not a spec of salt. Tasted funky. Please put salt on your everything bagels!

So new ownership took over and since then it’s like a ghost town in there. I go here for lunch 3x a week and didn’t mind paying the prices, I’m now being charged more than I was and the sandwiches have 1/2 of the meat I was getting while paying less. See the picture below, on a hero they don’t even put enough chicken cutlet to cover the bread. I actually waited to get a different worker than the last time I went here last week bc I didn’t want another sandwich that has nothing on it for almost $20 and then got the same thing from a completely different person. U are losing a regular but it looks like you lost most of ur regulars.

Today I stopped in to get a sandwich. Ham, Swiss, lettuce, tomato, and Mayo on a roll. The store was not busy however the employees all seemed disgruntled. I took my sandwich with me and once i opened it I was extremely disappointed. My sandwich had 1 slice of ham and 1 slice of cheese. I have never in all of my life had such a disappointing sandwich. Public school cafeterias will give you more protein on a sandwich then the Long Island bagel cafe . It's unacceptable to be charging almost $10 for a sandwich like this. I have been to other Long Island bagel cafe locations and had a wonderful experience. This location needs to reevaluate their business and the quality of food they are serving.
