I stop 2 times a day and get 2 large teas. It’s $1.99. Every day they take my $2 and say thank you and close the window. Today a very nice young man named Tucker took my money and gave me my change. It was only a penny but it was my penny. Thank you Tucker. You’re a great guy

Consistently good chicken! The rolls are awesome! The sweet tea is too sweet for me but many love it! I do unsweet! Very nice employees who go above and beyond with service. If you are in line in the drive thru.. the employees come to your car with your food. I've seen them deliver food to 3 cars at the same time which GREATLY reduces your wait time! I don't know of any fast food place in town that does that!

Always a generally pleasurable experience. Chicken, gravy, mashed potatoes, okra, how could you go wrong with that? I don't particularly care for the weight from the 5:00 hour to the 7:00 hour but it's generally worth it. The people that work there are very good. We eat there probably three times a month. If the weight wasn't so long we might eat there more.

I love their chicken. Especially with the serendipity sauce sprinkled on it. The young man who served us did an excellent job as well. He was very respectful and when we realized we were short one of our sides he promptly went and got it. I definitely recommend eating here.

Enjoyed our meal from Chicken Express. My wife, who is gluten free, always gets fried fish. I always get chicken tenders.

We love chicken express, only occasionally now, because it's gotten expensive (as has alot of things), but they charged us 1.67 to use the credit card now?

The cheese sticks are always my favorite thing to get there. When in doubt I always get the family meals when everyone is at our house. The tea can sometimes end up with a funny after taste, but its still rather tasty! The rolls are delicious, and the mash potatoes are always the first to dissappear. Over all a great returaunt to take your family, for the food and for the price!

If you like fried foods, this is the place for you! Fried chicken and chicken tenders, fried chicken livers and gizzards, fried mozzarella sticks, fried pickle slices, French fries, etc. They also have sides like green beans, cole slaw, corn on the cob, green beans, mashed potatoes with gravy, and other southern favorites. The setting is what you might expect of a fast food restaurant with a mix of booths and tables with chairs, with a self-serve beverage machine in one corner and the trash receptacles in another. There are two TVs, with one usually showing sports. It's nothing fancy, just a laid back atmosphere with good food at a reasonable price.

I was sad the dining area was closed. But as usual chicken strips and sweet tea was awesome! The young man working the window was polite as was the young man working with him.

My review is based on my husband's reactions to his orders over the last several months. It's fine, but the quality is inconsistent. It was better before the original owners sold it. But again, it's fine. Maybe a little overpriced for what you get.

Great food and decent service. Would like to add that I have been having a hard time finding better fish anywhere. Even when someone gets close, Chicken Express beats them on price by quite a bit.

Good place to eat some quality yardbird. Many sides to choose from. If you order tea, ask for half sweet (half & half)...unless you prefer the sweetest tea EVER! Staff is friendly and competent and nobody leaves unsatisfied! Ask for serendipity salt.

Decent food...they messed up an order, but their DM contacted us and made it right with a gift card for the value of the full meal.

I was in East Texas on a trip for work. Didn't have the pieces of chicken I prefer but it was good. The lady at the drive thru was awesome.

Bought 2 #1's. I went in late(9:30 ish), but there should still be fresh rolls and hot corn nuggets. Neither of these are very good when hardened, or cooled.

I got a #1 which is 4 tenders and a side. I added another side and a tea. Almost 14 dollars. Not even close to being worth it. My fingers where bigger than the tenders. I don't know why but every time something is always missing. I refuse to believe anybody gets everything they ordered at this point. Way to expensive now.

I felt like the chicken had too much batter on it, although the meat tasted good there was just a little too much batter which spoiled the chicken for me. The macaroni and cheese and the mashed potatoes were OK and tasted good. What spoiled the occasion for me, considering it was my 1st visit, was the price of the food! Oh my goodness we bought food for three people and spent nearly $50. I was so disappointed in the cost that it more or less ruined my experience as a whole.

Parked, pushed the button to order, no response. Pushed the button again. Still no response. Pulled around to the window and ordered. Found out at that time the kiosks were not operating. I ordered spicy chicken tenders, I received regular. Are it anyway because by this time I was in a hurry. Customer service was pleasant and fast.

BEST sweet tea and my favorite fast food restaurant in town-based SOLELY on the food itself. If service means anything to you, don't expect anything extraordinary here. Time after time, it proves difficult to elicit even a half-smile from the employees; I applaud anyone who receives any form of a greeting.

Just went through the drive through and the speaker wasnt working right. Girl couldn't hear me well and I couldn't hear her well either. I ordered 2 #3 combos, one with drumsticks and one with thighs, mashed potatoes for the side, and root beers for the drinks. She didnt give me a total till I hot to the window. First of all, for $18.60, the drinks were sweet tea, not root beers. We got home and there were no napkins or forks in the boxes, and no gravy for the chicken or potatoes. It wasn't extremely busy, so it's annoying that the order wasn't right and was so expensive.

It's consistently good service. Friendly and efficient, our orders are always made correctly. I wish I could give them a little higher score, but being they are the only chicken place in our town, we have no other place to compare them to.

My husband ordered cold slaw two different days and it smelled sour. It had a yellow color to it. Didn't smell fresh at all 😞 The rolls are never hot there always cold.

24 pieces of chicken, 2 family size orders of fries, 0 napkins, 0 utensils, 0 packs of ketchup. Was not aware those had to be ordered separately! It’s okay … will note for the future but have ordered before and had amenities … not today!

I haven't been to this Chicken Express in years, due to moving away. I ordered the 4 piece tender with mashed potatoes, and a Sprite. When I got to the window, a young lady took my payment. She then proceeds to ask what order did I have, when I was the only one in the drive thru! She wasn't rude, but clearly customer service is not her forte! Now, let's talk about the food. The tenders and roll were delicious! The Sprite tasted weird for some reason, and I could only take a few sips of it. The mashed potatoes were too black pepper forward! All I could taste was black pepper! I think they should let their customers know that they are going to dump a pile of black pepper in the potatoes! Will I return to this location? I will, but I won't order a Sprite or mashed potatoes!

I ordered today and it made me so sad. I've always loved chicken express so I was looking forward to having it for lunch, but it seems like it's gone downhill pretty far. They used to have some of the best fries in town, but I guess they're cutting costs or something, because now they just have the big crinkle fries that no one likes (the soggy ones that taste like wet toilet paper). The roll had no butter at all, it was just totally white bread. I could tell the chicken wasn't made very recently, which wasn't a huge issue by itself, but it was just one more thing on top of everything else. They also did not give me the ranch I paid for, or even one napkin, when I ordered tenders 🫠 I will probably just take my business back to the one in Mount Pleasant, never had a single problem at that one. Sorry guys.

I love this place but have to be honest, most of the time when you get home your order is not right. Now, when that black lady works, she runs a tight ship, and the young ones listen!!! She teaches them how to treat their customers!! She is the best!!!!plus the price of chicken now that is crazy.

It's hard to get fresh chicken strips here. Not sure why, but they are almost always stale. They do give good portions of fried okra though. There's one nice lady at the window, but most of the time they don't hear anything you say, unless it's the exact answer to their question. You can't give them your order. Just mumble and wait for them to ask their questions, and only answer with one word, otherwise they get annoyed that you don't follow their system. It will be $20 for 7 stale strips.

Service so so. The food is exceptionally bland. The sweet tea tastes like undiluted soda syrup and for the money you should be getting more.

No good anymore, way over priced these days you will spend more here than at a nice family sit down restaurant, took over 30 mins to get food, unacceptable for a fast food establishment with only three other customers in the store, your better off going to pick up chicken from brookshires or Walmart deli, plus it will save you 30 bucks or more, the quality of and size of portions here have decreased by 50 percent, and prices up by 85 percent, family of three here spend 50 something bucks on the cheapest combos on the menu, awful worst option in town

When you have an open time of 10:30 you would think you would open at 10:30, I may be over reacting but this pregnant woman wanted some food at 10:30….when you open. Went to walk in door was locked and the people inside knew I was standing out in the rain

It used to be one of the best places in town to get chicken strips but now the chicken strips are about half the size they used to be and they only give you 7 when you have some that are bigger than others it used to be if they were smaller they would give you a few extra to make up the difference

Make sure to count each piece of chicken to make sure you actually get what you order. Bought a 7 piece and was shorted 3 pieces of chicken. worst part is there was only one other customer waiting, so they weren't even busy. Had only taken a quick look in the box to make sure each item type was there didn't think I needed to start counting each strip.

Food here was good. Cashier was a little rude. The young man that refilled our drinks was very courteous. My big beef is there was no air conditioning in the dining room and both bathrooms the soap dispensers were inoperable. No sanitizer in sight. And the female employee that I followed after DID NOT WASH HER HANDS!!! The towel dispenser was never used and the sink was bone dry. This is against the health laws and totally disgusting. We probably will never eat here again. Terribly manager restaurant.

I am sorry to say that we had a very poor experience at this location on Tuesday. My husband and I went there for dinner. We pulled up to a drive up box directly across from the window to place our order. We punched the button and waited 5 minutes. We punched the button again and waited 5 more minutes. We punched the button for a third time and waited 5 more minutes. No one every came on the speaker to acknowledge that we were there or that they were too busy to take our order. There was no sign on the speaker that said it was out of order so our assumption was that they did not want our business. After 20 minutes, we drove off and went to a different place. Unfortunately we really like Chicken Express and visit there multiple times per week. Or at least we used to. Now we will look for alternatives. That kind of service just is not acceptable.

Not a great experience tonight. Person at counter kept talking to his friends over the top of us, filled their order before ours, forgot items as he was too busy talking to take care of us. We spent over $60.00 feeding our family and had to ask for several missing items. Mozzarella sticks were over cooked as were half of our rolls. Overall poor experience 😣

I sat in a stall for 30mins pushing the button before I called the store and they told me the stalls were closed. Their was no sign. I then went thru the drive thru to order. After I asked if my order was correct because I could see them packing it, he assured me it was. I got home and it was not. I understand people are short staffed but there appeared to be several people inside.

Since changed hands the service is bad. Kast two times been there no ranch dressing for cheese sticks. My family came in after me, too busy to wait on. Need to manage the workers time or what station they should work at. Lose lots business way they handling it. Mt. Pleasant handles their eating place better.

The reason for only 2 stars is because $33 for a 7 piece tender meal ($17.39) and 4 piece tender meal ($11.59) is highway robbery! I almost had a heart attack when I got to the window and the cashier told me the price. The tenders are really small and tough. Everything was cold and very greasy. The oil was oozing from the boxes and the one napkin they put in the box soaked up some of the oil making it useless. People are sick of the fast food restaurants advantage of the customer, they buy cheaper ingredients and charge higher prices. Some have even doubled their prices. Price gouging used to be illegal.

We went through drive through, ordered 4 meals to take to my daughter at school, They messed up all our sides. when we went back to have it resolved after the fact the manager told us all they could do was give us food. I told her we were already done eating and she still refused to do anything further stating this is just company policy. Wont be back.

Do not stop here! We were at the window 20 mins. Had already paid. Never got our food. 10 cars behind us got their food. We finally left without our food.

Worst place ever. Nasty environment, lobby is never clean, food is always old and they pre make their drinks. If you don’t want to get sick I would avoid this place.

Ordered 4 teas and after waiting for 15 minutes in the drive through, I left, people who had ordered food behind me got their order carried out to them, but apparently my order consisting of 4 large teas were too time consuming for the staff to fill or too heavy to carry out curbside.

It is may 30th at 1:45 and the manager that was on the speaker was very rude this is why chicken express will not see a dime from me if this rudeness is not fixed

I would go no stars if I could. Who in their right mind would serve hard burnt rolls. The green beans tasted old. At least the chicken was edible.

chicken place is getting bad when you can go to a McDonalds order 10 piece nugget and get more chicken than 7 piece TENDERS the y need to call them what they are half tenders or nuggets. I also ordered 2 extra rolls and okra for wife and grand son (he had McDonalds with roll ) and it got shoved all in 1 small box so i had to look for the nuggets from Chicken Express .

I dont usually do reviews but this experience was not great. i ordered 4 tenders half spicy and a buscuit. I found a blonde hair on top of my chicken and im sure if i went back they wouldnt be able to do anyhting about this.

This place always takes 20 mins to get your food out. The food is almost never fresh. I waited 20 mins on food that I thought was going to be fresh but instead the chicken was hard and the okra was old and double fried.

Ordered the Tuesday special today for 2 different households and made it clear when placing the orders. We had also had someone to come to the car and make sure that's the way we wanted the orders. She took the money separately and returned our change separately. Tell why when the orders were handed out, they were together. We tried to explain that they were separate again and she said , yeah, yeah, and closed the window. Is that really the way you are supposed to treat coustmers?

I got 4 two piece snack packs, no drinks. They charged me $38.06.The menu said $4.79 a pack, do the employees split the over charge.

Went in to complain at the sulphur springs, Texas store got nothing not even an apology! You know you work all day and stop to get a meal and get home and get an uncooked smashed roll, I was handed an open box with the napkins stuffed inside so they were greasy not even in a bag. But all I got from their supervisor was so do want another roll, then threw it in the trash and walked away. Won't go back!!

This store has bad mgmt there service is so slow it took me 20 mins toget a to go order of a 4 pc dinner in the inside.Theyclosed the lobby early because someone was leaving early. Ridiculous!!!!

Once again, I wasted about $20 on food that was inedible, either sitting under heat lamp too long or cooked too long. Livers were nothing more than hard, shriveled up pieces of over-cooked breading. Will NEVER eat there again!!! Lesson learned.

Oct. 20, 2022 Placed my order at the drive thru and it took 20 minutes to wait on 4 cars. Received my Snack Pak with tenders and the tenders or tender was 3 inches long, cold and the 2nd one was a non meat chicken tender, crust only. Sweet tea was horrendously sweet. Had to throw it out. Employees or the two girls at the window where uncaring. Worst Chicken express I have experienced. I drove out of the way to get chicken express. If I could give a negative rating I would. Don't waste your hard earned money at this location. It's like they stole my money.

Only one person was taking orders at the front counter, it wasn't her fault I waited 5 minutes to place my order it was the customer ahead of me. I just think surely another employee would see me standing there for so long. The managers special of 2 pieces of dark meat with a biscuit seemed perfect for a quick meal. The fact that the chicken was so greasy that I couldn't squeeze enough grease off it. I know how to fry chicken without it being soaked in grease and thought a "chicken place" could too. Apparently some retraining is needed. I wish all you people in Sulphur Springs good luck that there will be retraining. I'll just leave Chicken Express for all of y'all because me and my family won't be returning. So sad.

I think it's a not so good day @ Chicken express today. It took forever to get our food, our car hop was obviously not interested in being at work. She was just rude. No receipt because she said they had no register receipt paper. Our food was cold and obviously not even remotely fresh. I know people have bad days, we all do. Young lady.... whatever is going on with your world today, will pass. In the meantime... smile, be courteous to your customers and trust in God, he always makes a way, right on time.

I love chicken express. But this one, I have gone to times and both times the floors were nasty, there wasn't one table that was wiped down, the bathroom was unmentionable. It just makes you wonder, if the dining area could be this dirty, I don't want to imagine how dirty the food preparation area is. I do not recommend this one.

So it’s the same song in this town, horrible fast food service. Food is always smashed into the bag, they are unresponsive at the drive through. We were told to wait, did so for 5 minutes and no one ever returned. We even called in the store from our car to get service, and the guy was totally clueless. I don’t think these kids mean to be this bad at their job, it’s just the way it is in this town. If it’s a fast food restaurant in this town, expect to have your order messed up and an overall bad experience. This Chicken Express hits all points on my bad service scale.

Normally I love me some Chicken Express!! after working all day on a old house exhausted haven't eaten all day so went thru drive!! ordered the three piece combo 2 breast and a thigh!! got home open the box was what I guess would be called a piece and a half!! one huge chicken breasts and what look like a half of another breast because it was split right down the center! NO THIGH!! the chicken was so cold and gross it tastes like it was cooked last week the mashed potatoes were cold.... got a side order of green beans they were actually good so I had the green beans the roll a hot pepper and the tea! the chicken went to the cats they didn't even eat it!!! guys this time review is not going to be good!!! it was awful awful food tonight!!! Shame on the manager on duty!!!! was 7:30 for Christ's sakes not like y'all were getting ready to close!!! 😡

My family and I come here everytime we come visit family here in town (2-3 times a year). We eat here almost everyday that we're in town and love the food and sweet tea! Went in today and instantly smells like sewage and dirty napkins and trash all over. We order our food and wait forever to get it, finally get it and we got rolls instead of biscuits and they shorted us on chicken tenders. Few minutes later they bring us more chicken and biscuits. The gravy was cold, the fries were cold, and the chicken had big black spots in it. This is the last time we will ever eat here and from what I hear in town they are going to lose a lot of business it they don't get some better management in there!

Love their spicy chicken but their service is bad, constantly getting our order wrong. We always order the 4 pc tender dinners . They have a bad habbit of forgetting the fries. Must check box each time to ensure it is correct

I just left there and after 15 minutes my order was getting ready As the lady was putting my gizzard s in a box she dropped one on the counter and with no gloves on went ahead and put it in my box. Not worth the 8.76 I paid for 9 gizzard to start with

We placed an order for pickup. It was all wrong . Tried to give us 20 rolls instead of the 20 pcs tenders. Then charged me all wring and was having 2 charge card twice. Food was good but won't be back. Service Sucked

This franchise used to be so amazing and I think they have grown too fast. I cant tell you the amount of times I have went to Chicken E in the last year and they have been out of chicken tenders..... They just cant keep enough of the supply. Also the tenders have gotten alot smaller. It is sad ;(

Would leave 0 if i could, staff was nice enough but food was cold, refried to a crisp and when i asked for new fries they forgot about me until i got to the window and tried to hand me the next person’s meal. After waiting an additional 11 minutes for fresh food i refunded the entire meal as it was cold. Several people sitting and chatting at POS station while orders were taking a long time, Quality has been extremely low in this company.

I am here for lunch at least 3 days a week and typically the service and friendliness of the staff is great but today was a completely different experience. Thr lady working the window was absolutely rude and disrespectful. I asked her for some ranch to go with my order and she comes back and almost throws them at me while the window almost slides closed with my arm in it. It was well after lunch time and they were not that busy at the time. She is definitely NOT trained to work with Customers.

Worst place to go to. Took us at least 30 minutes to go through. Sat at the window for 10 minutes straight for just 2 drinks. As I was in line, they served people behind us full meal and didn't get me my 2 drinks whenever I came before them. The portions of their food is too small than what you pay for compared to the local KFC. If you want a quick drink, it's better to go to a different place than rather be waiting 10 minutes in line.

I had 4 orders. Wait time was ridiculous and the lady who took my card was obscenely rude about me wanting to pay with Apple Pay. Chicken express normally give extra pieces, but not today. I ordered a 4 piece and I got 3 chicken strips, and no roll, and a gravy that is half full. This is ridiculous. This place used to be the best fast food in Sulphur Springs.

Went to the drive through to pick up order but asked them to add a small coleslaw at the end. The girl rolled her eyes at me and had me pull ahead to wait for my order. Twenty-five minutes later I finally got it only to get it home 30 minutes away to find they forgot to give us 2 out of our 3 sides. Had to cook anyway. The chicken was so so and the coleslaw was terrible

i cant stand the fact that my ordee is never right .....i worked fast food for years ,ive never experienced anything like this sulphur springs store our whole town is fed up ,it used to be amazing but to get a order right you literally have to go inside check the box then wave them.down to fix mistakes forget gettung any sauce you asked for and tge window is a joke i had ro ask the lady last time 4 times for a spoon napkins and serendipty then they messed both orders up handed me each box seperate not bagged. im treated like im the problem when i always say i will even pay for the sauce the fish i ate last time had to be thrown out maeination was so salty and tasted like it was fries so hard in old grease i wanted to throw up and the gizzard and livers never have the green pelled off so your bittin into something disguting , while you watch all the kids play in the back. even if u have gloves on u can not touch everything and go back to handling food . the prices are so high which i wpuld pay if it was good but come on get it together i jave not recieved a right order in over a yr my kids grew up on it when it had lical owners so they begged to go and everytime i get pissed u cant complain to a corrproate so some managers treats u rude and does not a dang thing to fix but say u can come back tonight . well im not driven back to town my food already bad ....just smh so dissapointed in a buisness that used to represent our town !!!!!

It took ten minutes to get the chicken. I ordered two piece of chicken not a combo not a roll not a bisket. It was just two piece of dark chicken. No napkins no nothing maybe you can cut cost if you went to a plastic bag. $8.

I love chicken express but this location was horrible, it took about 25 minutes of sitting at the window to finally get our food. When we got our food, our rolls were completely smushed, neither the fries or chicken were fresh, and there were several eyelash hairs at the bottom of our chicken box. Absolutely disgusting, will never come back.

I have been waiting about 15 minutes so far for my food. All I ordered was the 4 piece tender combo with fries. This is the longest I’ve ever had to wait at a chicken “express” and there’s not even that many people here.
