Love Rokko They have a really authentic menu with lots of choices. I really think their tempura is some of the best around. They take care of their regulars as we went for Dad's 81st birthday and they gave him an appetizer and some sake. We love the service and the Sake and Soju selections

Excellent food, nigiri sushi was fresh and delicious. Tonkotsu was great too. Unfortunately we were seated in a tiny tiny table and it was hard, plus the waitress was kinda slow. Still would go back, very very good.

Nice izekaya with a variety of dishes. We came here because of the Fugetsu association and had originally been only intending to eat pork okonomiyaki, but saw the broader menu selections. We ended up also ordering the unagi meishi, udon, agadashi tofu, tempura, and tekka making. Everything was delicious. The noise level is pretty loud, but in line with an izekaya.

Surprisingly delicious and high-quality! I highly recommend trying the Hamachi Jalapeño Carpaccio — it’s truly tasty. All the other dishes, except for the tuna sashimi/nigiri, are excellent as well.

Great place to get Japanese food. We managed to get a last minute reservation for 5 on a Saturday evening so that was great. I love how many options they have. They have every Japanese dish I love. I got the Deluxe Meshi which had everything I love about Japanese rice bowls: It has salmon, eel, AND fish eggs. We also got the Yakiniku Don (grilled beef rice bowl), Chicken Nanban (basically chicken Karaage with a different sauce), and Agedashi Tofu. And the food was delicious. The portions for the rice bowls were also bigger than I expected so they were very filling. Service was good. I didn’t feel like we waited too long for our food. We also came rather close to closing but they still let us order, so I appreciate that. And when the store was closing, they politely made it known to us. The inside feels like a typical Japanese restaurant with black seats and dark wood. We sat in a booth which fit all 5 of us comfortably

Update 07/24: Tried Yakisoba and sashimi set. Worth trying! Sashimi is fresh and huge. ——————————— The deluxe meshi is a must try! Okonomiyaki is authentic as well. Nigiris are probably below the average, will not recommend.

Quite authentic Japanese food from an Asian’s point of view. Portion is larger than expected so order carefully. 5 minutes waiting time at weekday dinner time. Service is swift and friendly.

I visited Rokko around 5:30pm on Friday and it was a good experience. Not super busy but as time went on more people showed up. I was impressed with the food and portions of it. I had a double entree platter which consisted of California rolls and salted salmon. Everything about it was great. Although my only caveat was that the salted salmon was a bit saltier than I expected so I had to add lemon to reduce the salt. Overall, it was a great dining experience. I love the atmosphere as well as the interior design, which was well thought out and reminded me of those Japanese restaurants seen in travel videos, and on YouTube. Also, the staff was very attentive and we’re seeing constantly roaming around attending to customers. Next I come back I’ll have try to their Okonomiyaki.

An awesome Japanese spot in DT Sunnyvale! Portions are large and staff is friendly. I ordered #8 off of the Special Premium sets. It included tonkatsu, agedashi tofu, deluxe sashimi (10 pcs), and a clam miso soup! Tonkatsu was a bit soggy, but still good. Agedashi tofu was with firm tofu (I prefer soft tofu) but i was still made well. Deluxe sashimi was delicious! Clam miso soup was the only disappointing one since the clams had lots of sand in them and tasted a bit less fresh than the others. Portions are large, so the value is definitely there. Love the sets so you can try different variety of their options! Will definitely be back! Parking is a bit tough in the lot, so you may need to park farther away and walk over. Pretty good Japanese food. The fried onigri was really good but had some bones so watch out. The sashimi salad was fresh and crunchy and delicious. The sushi was alright... the salmon plate was just the right size and the okra was delicious.
