Fish Cove is a 65 year tradition in Syracuse. Popular around lent but delicious all year long. Perfect fried fish, shrimp , scallops and more i am huge fan of the fried mushrooms as well. I walk in to a smell of gotta have more... I tend to use the phrase no thrills restaurant alot. Fish Cive is a machine walk in stand in line "the correct line" state your wishes and your name then stand in another line with the other hopefuls and wait for name to be called. A well oiled team prepares your food in a manner that gets you out the door with you hot delicious golden feast..

Still the best fish in all of upstate New York! I've been in AZ for the last 4 years and truly miss this place no place in AZ even comes close or anywhere else for that matter!

My husband got the fried haddock and I got the bang bang chicken sandwich. The sandwiches were hot, fresh and delicious.

It was a good experience. I went get fish for myself and my mother. The workers were very friendly and helpful. Your order is made as soon as you request it doesn't sit out and wait to be purchased. Everything is fresh. Order sizes that are plentiful you won't be disappointed.

I have been eating food from here regularly since 1972. Eat in, small counter area, take is the most popular. Without question the best seafood in the Syracuse area. Call ahead or order when you get there. Reasonable prices fast, friendly service. Family owned since 1948. Though it may sound like I own it I don't!! Just love the food and the people

The traditional Friday fish dinners are absolutely stupendous. They have fried clams fried scallops fried shrimp and fried haddock sandwiches and dinners. When you first approach it appears that there are is a long line however the line moves very fast. The food is made in front of your eyes and is not stored up on a shelf. All items are a la carte. The prices are very reasonable considering the quality product you are getting. They are open all year round but run specials on Fridays during Lent

The guy who fixes your registers was unfriendly to me when I needed a receipt and minimized my persons. Other than that the food is great!! The owner has replied and I am very grateful of response. I have changed my rating from one star to five stars!!!

I had a good experience here at Fish Cove. The food was great, and the people you meet here are interesting. I only got a fish sandwich with lettuce, tomatoe, mayo, and tartar sauce and it was slamming. The lunch shift male cashier could use some more manners. He was rude at one point but I believe that was just because he was a bit stressed out. I am a roofer and coming off the roof on a hot day and being as hungry as I was, dealing with that was not pleasant but I was respectful and understanding of him too and from there on he was nice..

I bought some fresh fish. Service was fast and friendly. The space is clean and doesn’t smell heavily of fish or fryer. The fish I bought and cooked at home was delicious.

I usually go to the fish cove in shop city, but I ordered from West vale plaza and the fish was fried too hard and my macaroni salad was not fresh and too sweet, onion rings and fries were good, but I think I'll stay with the fish cove in shop city cause I never had a complaint with them

Always fantastic seafood!! I dont think there has been a time that I have went there that it wasn't extremely busy. With that being said, they still get your food out very quick. Always have had pleasant and friendly customer service! Love this place!

Every time I'm up in Syracuse, I must go there! The in-laws live in Camillus and I always go there for a great takeout dinner for the family. Great food, service and a pleasure to do business with them.

I have been going to the Fish Cove in Solvay since I was a young man. I have personally traveled all over this Country and have never had such a wonderful seafood experience. Growing up in an Italian village with Italian traditions, the Cove was especially critical at holiday times. The owners obtain the freshest fish anywhere and make all their own salads up in house. All’s I can say you really have a treasure in the Syracuse area. Along with the Cove being from a long line of family members, our enjoyment of this establishment has gone down through our family as well. A fancy dining experience you will not find, but the best and freshest fish you ever had, you will! Be so very grateful that this establishment still resides in the village of Solvay, I am!!!

Stopped in for a quick take out and was very pleased that I did. Very friendly, quick service. Received a very generous portion of fried clam strips. My sides were cabbage salad ( cole slaw) which was amazing and macaroni salad, also very good. Will keep this place in mind for next time I'm in the area

I love this store I went there over a year ago and got oysters first time ever there. And I noticed they made a fish sandwich so just recently I went over there a few weeks ago to meet a friend for lunch what a delicious fish sandwich oh my God the french fries are delicious too. I went back a week later to have another fish sandwich next week I'm going there to have their shrimp. And I drive all the way from Auburn New York and it takes a good 25 minutes to get there it's well worth the trip thank you

Best fish market on this side of town. Call ahead or pick it up, this place will serve you some of the most impeccably fried haddock and scallops you can normally only find on the coasts. Their raw shrimp is hearty and reasonably priced. They have crab legs! Their tartar sauce is really tasty too! And the service is amazing, they'll do their absolute best to provide you with the highest quality! ❤

Delicious everything! My favorite spot to get fish in Cuse. Better quality and better pricing than any supermarket in the area. Our household buys frozen tuna steaks, weekly. It never disappoints. They fry fish fresh to order too. Salt of the earth people, owners and staff. Love this place!

Stopped by the Fish Cove while visiting Syracuse for the first time. The food here is great and I was impressed by the quality of the fish. The breading was light and the fish was delicious. You can definitely tell this is a family establishment and you can see the past generation's photos hanging on the walls. This place is well worth a visit!

I really enjoy getting fried haddock and fried scallops from here to take home. Crispy & delicious! My other favorite item is the clam chowder. Not too thick, but fresh and creamy with lots of clams!

There clam chowder soup is so good a little pricey but well worth it I also love there potato salad

The food is delicious. The prices are fair. My husband and I eat here regularly. Typically, people order their meals to go. However, there are two counters with stools. We always eat in so it's hot and fresh! Definitely scored a 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟rating!

Fantastic food and service. The gentleman who helped us was very helpful, he told us he could light fry the fish to be baked later, and it was perfect. Also if they have Peruvian scallops, get them! I don't like scallops normally, but I ate half a portion of the Peruvian ones myself they were so good!

Local owned. I believe 3rd generation? It's the oldest place to buy and eat fish in this area! It's spacious in their. They are friendly and professional. Plus the food is so tasty! The prices are fair. Especially with how expensive everything is now a days. It's worth getting some fish to eat here! I also had their shrimp and I loved it. The breading they used on the shrimp and fish went well with the meals

This is mainly for takeout, but they do have a counter table against the front windows and along a short stretch of wall with stools to accommodate about eight people who wish to eat on site. I ordered a fried scallop dinner with french fries and coleslaw. I received 7 perfectly cooked medium-large scallops that were hot, moist inside, and nicely flavored with a seasoned breadcrumb coating and tartar sauce for dipping. The coleslaw was a perfect accompaniment. Not being familiar with the menu, I was a bit slow in ordering, but the staff were exceptionally patient and friendly. I look forward to returning to try other menu items. UPDATE-1: Returned to try the fried shrimp dinner. As for the fried scallops I had on an earlier visit, the shrimp were hot, perfectly cooked, and surrounded by a crisp, well seasoned, breadcrumb coating. The cocktail sauce had a generous amount of horseradish, just the way I like it. And, the coleslaw, with bits of pineapple, worked perfectly as an antidote to the heat from bites of shrimp and sauce. An excellent meal! UPDATE-2: Returned to try the fried clams dinner. Excellent meal for a very reasonable price. UPDATE-3: Never a disappointing meal. This place is consistently good. UPDATE-4: Still serving excellent food at a very reasonable price.

We were looking for a fish monger for the freshest fish for Christmas eve 7 fishes stew. Lobster tails, squid, scallops (omg they were FRESH) oysters, halibut, shrimp and a nice bag of clams. All with friendly service, great prices and the meal was a hit! We'll be back for a fry up soon...

Great food made fresh, was ready in 15 minutes from call to pickup on a Friday @ lunchtime.

This Fish Cove is a small and sweet place to dine in quick. Have small seating arrangements but grab and go is all time service. The have fresh/ frozen fish and chicken. Very deliciously prepared. I loved their cold slaw and tar. It’s as tangy to my tastebuds. The service was very quick and the representatives are very friendly. Happy to dine here again.

I grew up nearby, was home visiting family, and popped in for some fresh fish fry, clams, and their unique coleslaw…a family tradition growing up. Several…decades later, it’s like walking back in time…same location, clean but nothing fancy, old school, you order your hot food . You pick up the salads, sauces right there or you can order complete dinners, and take it home. It’s still super fresh and delicious, batter so light you can actually taste the food itself, cooked to order perfectly done right in front of you by friendly family folks who’ve been doing it well all this time…which is why they’re still here 💖 Mom is 89 now and has been loving this food for at least 55 years. Her face still lights up every time we bring it home. I can’t believe what people will pay for absolute junk at the drive through places when you can get good REAL food just as fast here…for less. Thank you for keepin it real!

Food was really good. The scallops were delicious. Had my order done and I was out the door in just a few minutes.

They do some of the best fried sea food in town. I complained, on here, about a staff member a few months back and the owner immediately messaged me for details and let me know what they were doing to fix the problem. Thank you.

Tasty food. It’s all fried stuff so can be a little greasy but chicken sandwich is very good and good serving of haddock with dinner. Gets crowded and cramped with people waiting for orders. Guy at register snapped at me on one occasion.

The FISH was delicious! BUT, the breading was super soggy n normally its so crispy....it's NOT a cheap piece of food.

I bought scallops last week and they were delicious and I felt like I got a good amount for my money. This week I ordered the same thing and they were terrible. I ordered a half pound and paid $11 and got 4 soggy, fishy tasting scallops. I wish there was more consistency with size and quality.

I've been getting fish from Fish Cove for years, the fish is always good, but I'm not sure what the deal is with the fried clams, they are cooked to death, more times than not, I've had good clams, but it seems to be hit and miss, the reason for this review is about the miss, they miss way more than they hit with the clams, not sure why...also, the Mac salad is not very good, probably out of a sysco can, same with the coleslaw, it's not very good, the beans are OK, fries are usually soggy, yet my clams are cooked so much that it's clam flavored breading. To be honest, price chopper makes better clams than fish cove and they can give em a run for their money on the fish as well, for less money...I try to stay loyal to the small guy, but if you can't fry clams, I'm not sure why I keep thinking you can...pull the basket out before they are char, please.

Food is ok nothing special. Coating fell off the fish and scallops I purchased. I got two small salads and they were very salty and tasted the same. Would be nice if they had nutritional information available for their products rather then just the ingredients. I think it's very expensive then you get a charge fee added on if you use a card. It's a very small place and trying to figure out where to go to order is annoying. Standing shoulder to shoulder is just not my thing.

We went there last night for the first time. The fish dinner was so delicious!! We absolutely loved it! The young man that took our order was very friendly. We also ordered 3 chicken tender dinners for our kids. The older gentleman at the register with glasses was short tempered and got snappy when I asked him about dipping sauce for my son’s chicken tenders. My husband and I weren’t sure what to do with the man. So, Because we didn’t want to argue with him, We walked away with something our kids wouldn’t eat. Very disappointing.

Fish is usually very good. Size varies dramatically visit to visit. Verify what is in your bag before you leave as my last two visits were not what was ordered.

Fish was okay. The clam chowder was so full of grit that it was inedible and the baked beans were at least 3 days old.

Fish sandwich and fries wasn't the best! I ordered fish sandwich and fries. The guy next to me ordered fish sandwich and salad and fries special. They didn't even offer it to me as a deal. Charged me full price! Most likely not going back there!!!

Food was very good, but the service was less than appetizing!!! We phoned our order in, the man who cashed us out was very rude, not customer service oriented, so the experience was terrible. You need to have good people with good food, but they came up short on the people side with this guy!!!!

Macaroni Salad was Extremely Salty like someone played a Prank, i could only eat a couple forks of it , fish was ok but overly Battered fish just sitting in the cornmeal, They changed a lot from when i used go years ago in shop city, with the owner there every thing was always onpoint. First time to Westvale Fish Cove. Very disappointed. Usually go to Eastwood...always great. Been to N.Syr. a handful of times... All good. Fish at Westvale was overcooked and too salty. Clams mostly breadcrumbs and salty. Cole slaw was mushy. More expensive than Eastwood, too. Wasn't expecting this.

Only time i write a review is when i feel it's really necessary. I literally just left this place and i am extremely disappointed. I live literally 3 minutes away and by the time i got home to eat my fish it was falling apart. It had no type of crunchy ness to it. It was just disgusting. I totally wasted my money. Just ordered 2 fish sandwiches, coleslaw and fries. Fish was precooked and Luke warm, fries were soggy and coleslaw was mostly old Mayo. Have been here before so this was unexpected. Very disappointed.

I live so close ,but never order from them because I've never had good food. On the recommendation of a friend we decided to try today. Fried chicken and fried Oysters. The oysters were fishy. Into the garage. 4 pieces of fried chicken. They took one breast and it was chopped into 4 pieces. It was dry and tasteless. The macaroni salad was so bad. It's brown with liquid on the bottom of the container. It is very, very bad. I could cry. Another rip off. Don't bother

2nd week in a row I tried to call in an order to be picked up in 2.5 hours and was told that they were all filled up until 7:30 and I could try the line but she wasn't sure how long it was going to be or how long my wait would be. This is my only option. WOW must be nice to be THAT busy SMH

Went to buy lunch and would not serve me because lunch is at 11:30am but on your advertisement it says 11:00am which is it??? but had served someone that was there lunch was he lying to me he just didn't feel like cooking.never go there again

This was the WORST meal we had all year, and overpriced. This is takeout only, basically fried fish, fries, onion rings, and sides, and the only thing that was edible were the onion rings. Honestly, with such a limited menu, they can't even fry fish right. The fish was soggy, instead of crispy like fried fish should be. The french fries were soggy and tasted bitter. The tartar sauce had way too much pickle, and the coleslaw was way too sweet. We will NEVER eat there again. Want fish? Travel to the Fish Cove on Swansea Dr in Syracuse (cash only), or go to Doug's in Skaneateles, and you'll have a great meal and spend less. Avoid this particular Fish Cove.

Twice we've ordered from here expecting something great after the reviews and twice I've gotten home with food that's less than to be desired. We live literally 5 minutes away and the food is cold and th fish looks like it was cooked hours earlier. Syracuse has a lot of great Friday fish fries. This isn't one of them.

Fish was EXTREMELY greasy, wasn’t seasoned at all. The fish fell completely apart when picked up. It was such a disappointing experience. Sad thing is this was not the first time. They were also very busy tonight. I noticed that when they’re busy they must not be draining the fish properly. All you can taste is grease. My family and I had to throw it all away.

My husband came home today with fish, clam strips, fries, macaroni salad, and cabbage salad from Westvale. He spent over $60 and all that was edible was the clam strips. The fish was so oil logged, I was surprised it was even allowed to go out of the shop. It was honestly, for lack of a better word...disgusting. The macaroni salad was definitely bad/ expired so much so that I actually spat it out after trying a bite. That really sucked because it's my favorite. The cabbage salad was wilted and had large chunks of either the bottom of the cabbage or something like that. The French fries tasted like they were fried in old oil.

Ordered a fish fillet and got an oil logged portion of fish and breading soup for a whopping $21.11. If the fish came out bad, tell me and remake it, or charge me less than full price, don’t just put it in the container and I hope I don’t notice. Thats dirty business.
