It had been 10 years since my last visit, and it brought back fond memories. The waitress, whose name I unfortunately forgot, has been there for over 20 years. The food was excellent and cooked to perfection. The Biscuits and gravy were particularly great. I’m hoping to visit again soon.
Old fashioned diner with great food and atmosphere! It's a hometown favorite of many in the area!
It’s a big diner, maybe they will never go out of seats. Their menu is vast. I’m expecting decent quantity for that price, but quantity is more than expected. We had chicken fingers, pancakes are big enough for two and are delicious. Service was little bit slower, at the end it’s worth it.
This place was really wonderful. Huge portions and fresh vegetables in the Freata (never heard of this dish so maybe spelled wrong) was especially loaded with great stuff. My meals could have fed 2 people easy. Highly recommend for breakfast! Tell em Dave sent ya!
Diner with some old school charm. Eaten here a few times. Portions are big, prices are fair and service is good. Food is delicious.
Stopped in this morning after the Metallica concert. Easter Sunday, plus the added crowd from the show, and they handled it incredibly well. Wait was less than 10 minutes, and absolutely no delays on food coming out or table being checked on. Both the waitress and the hostess had incredible attitudes and really made us feel welcome. On top of that, the food was delicious. I had the Boise Omelette with a side of corned beed hash. Both were fantastic, good Hollendaise sauce. My buddy also has the hash and agreed it was very good. He enjoyed his plate as well, eggs over easy. Good home fries, too. Will definitely return.
Stella's diner is a great place to eat Great menu choices and great food A shout out to Jennifer M our waitress: she was so kind ,friendly, informative. Felt like we knew her for years. All around 5 stars .
Please thank Jenny for a job well done! She was friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. More importantly, Stella's Diner was awesome. If you go to Stella's Diner, please ask for Jenny. If her section is full, wait for her --she's terrific! Signed fat & bald
Absolutely exactly what I was looking for from a diner, and then some. I walked in and was greeted and told to sit anywhere I'd like. Being alone I took a seat at the counter where cream, sugar, and assorted condiments were ready to go. I ordered coffee and their hamburger minestrone. The soup was great, a hearty affair with a full flavor. The coffee was your standard diner drip, strong and plentiful. While I was enjoying those I saw a plate go by that looked and smelled so good I had to try it. It turned out to be the house seafood jambalaya. Rice topped with shrimp, sausage, chicken, tomato, and a spicy gravy. A surprising dish from a diner but delicious none the less. It's the perfect dish to warm you up on a cool night.
What a treat it was to stop here. Never been there before. On our way to Nationals we decide to stop and eat at Stella's... All I can say is wow! It was busy because of the Nationals but we only had to wait a few minutes.. the food was amazing our server was so very friendly and attentive. I differently recommend Stella's . You won't be disappointed!
Driving through on a road trip and I was feeling steak and eggs. Found this place on Google Maps and decided to go. To be honest, I was feeling a little sketched out driving through all the run down/abandon buildings to get there. They got a large parking lot and had tons of regulars around so that put me at ease. I ordered the NY Steak and eggs. Medium-rare and it came out perfect. I can't remember the last time any place has done medium-rare perfectly. Home fries were fantastic. Buttery soft with crispy ends. Entire meal was satisfying. Would recommend.
I love it here but its prices are a bit higher than I’d like. It’s always busy but never much of a wait. The wait staff are fantastic and the food is tasty and there’s a lot of it! I have had lunch and breakfast here ( my grandson loves it here ) so we go once a month.. It has seating for all sizes but if there’s more than 4 expect a bit of a wait because they are always packed! Which is a great sign to how great the food is!
Whenever we have the opportunity to travel to Syracuse, it is always a pleasure to pause and enjoy some delightful cuisine at this establishment. In the manner of a classic diner, the food is excellent, and the atmosphere is quite engaging.
extremely good portions and great staff. old school diner with huge menu. father in law in wheelchair and mother in law with many allergies very accomadating to both
The place has good food. I got a bacon cheese burger omelet that was delicious. Only problem is trying to get in the wait times are long if your more than two people. Had a hour wait time for four people. Prices are good. And the people were friendly. They need a better system to get people in line to sign up
We tried Stella's on the suggestion of a good friend, and I'm glad we did! The staff was friendly and attentive, the atmosphere and decor was classic 50s style diner, and the food was amazing! Huge portions too! I got the Fretta breakfast and it lasted me four meals! We went all out- appetizers, entrees, and desserts, and it was all so good! We will definitely be back! Update: We've become regulars at Stella's. Never been disappointed by a dish or their service! Highly recommend this diner!
I live this place. I go there once a week for 10 yrs. Food is great, prices are fair and services are above and beyond.
When faced with a long road journey (Ottawa, ON to Cleveland, OH), you want to make sure you are well fuelled. Although we only rolled into Syracuse late (1:45AM), we were up and on the road early (before 8). Stella’s has become a go to breakfast place while we are in Syracuse. We ordered simple breakfasts (eggs, sausage, homefries) and it continues to be plentiful (especially the homefries). It’s also tasty. The place is busy in the early morning but the service is always attentive! Make Stella’s your next breakfast stop.
This diner was such a great find! The wait staff were attentive but not hovering. The portions were huge and everything was served fast and hot. I don't know what the cook did but I had the best grits since living down south. Eggs were fluffy too and the hubby's home fries were cooked to perfection. Definitely worth stopping by!
We got in late everyone was so welcoming. The whole place was decorated with a Beety Boop motif and vintage decorations. Moe was our waitresses as she was awesome. We also got into conversations with another waitress (fellow dance parent!). They all immediately picked up on our Canadian accents! I had the Philly Steak with tater tots and my wife had the chicken with pita. Both were amazing! If you want the best diner experience you'll want Stella's. We will be coming back! Thank you guys! You made our afternoon!
This place is huge. Grabbed a seat at the old fashioned style counter. I was greeted with a friendly smile, placed my order quickly and got my meal quickly. WOW a huge plate of two biscuits with gravy home fries. Really tasty! Biscuits were cooked to perfection. Easy access to 81 and a seven minute drive to the airport.
Terrific service and tremendous value for the quantity and quality of food. We had the breakfast burrito and Diablo omelette. The coffee was very tasty and the staff refilled it frequently. Bathrooms were clean. Everyone was very full after breakfast/brunch. It was crowded but easier to find spots at the bar.
This is by far, my 2nd best diner! I ordered the Jumbalaya! It was fantastic! Such a huge plate full and so delicious! I can't figure out how they can prepare it so quickly and hot! Plus they have the Best waitresses! Save me a table! I'm on my way!
OMG!! Great breakfast... stuffed... Superior service... did not get our server's name...but then again...we didn't ever need to call her. Just the right amount of attention. This place serves as a team...and the service is awesome! Update...2022 Stella's has changed!!! No more ads in the menus...they're now on the mugs... No more remembering orders in their heads...now the servers have tablets...welcome to the 21st Stella. What hasn't changed...everything else that made Stella's great. Awesome service, great breakfast food and that diner atmosphere. This time through, I had the crab cake bennies...and never regretted a single delicious bite. Kim had the country benny...and tapped out half way through. She took it to go, but sadly, the hash turned the biscuit to mush and some of the magic was lost...not enough to make her not eat it as leftovers... We are happy that Stella's survived COVID and that her heart and sole are still beating away...feeding the Syracuse masses in the best ways...would give Stella's a 6th star if we could.
Amazing staff, especially Kayla, who served our large group with kind attention and quick service!!! Food was amazing and more than enough for leftovers!! Again shoutout to Kayla Ro for being so professional, kind and attentive!!!
This place was recommended to me. So I went with some family and friends and had a blast. The waitress was superior in her job performance. The atmosphere was great as well but the food, when I say you leave hungry. I was more than satisfied with the portions and the taste. If you're ever in Syracuse or going through stop here for something to eat.
If you want a big, hearty breakfast, this is the place to go! This restaurant is an icon in the Syracuse area. There is usually a wait, so be prepared. But it moves quickly and the staff is fast to bring you your food. The homemade bread is fantastic, too. Tip your waiters and waitresses well, because they work very hard here.
Solid, huge portions of food. The Country Benny was delicious and deadly! We waited nearly 2 hours before we got our food (1hr wait to be seated and 1 hr for food once we were in the restaurant)...Deanna was the best! She gave us some Italian bread and butter and kept the coffee flowing while we waited for our food (the kitchen was delayed). Pro-tip, don't be a party of 9 that doesn't show up and keeps everyone from getting a table.
Love the food here. Big portions. Cute Betty Boop theme. Staff are always friendly a super helpful and fast. Love their soup.
Everyone raved about their food. Two kiddos got oreo crumble pancakes and said "If I could rate it I would give it five stars!" One kid had apple pancakes with whipped cream and she thoroughly enjoyed them!! I had the grilled chicken dinner with side salad and baked potato. I chose cajun flavor and everything was delicious. Salad was just right, the baked potato was perfect and came with butter and sour cream. Husband had the haddock dinner with fries and coleslaw. He is VERY persnickety about coleslaw and he said this was great. We also got Italian bread. Waitress was attentive and kind. We will definitely be back.
Oh my goodness!!!! Food was phenomenal! All the staff was very nice as well. My coffee cup never got half way, as they always came around to keep it fresh and hot. The grits were amazing. I ordered a build your own omelet, as well.... It was huge! You definitely do not leave hungry, or thinking that's all I got for what I ordered! Highly highly recommend Stella's Diner!
Unbelievable food, great price, good amount of food for what you pay for. You won't be disappointed!!!!
There's no other Diner in comparison.. Plain and simple.. There's frequently a wait but it's well worth it.. The service staff are amazing and the food is always perfect.. Love this place... ❤️😁🙏🏼
Now this is a diner experience! This place is rocking. The ladies serving you are constantly moving and working on something. The food came out hot, quick and delicious! I tried the Stella Breakfast Sandwich and my belly thanked me. It was loaded with bacon! Our server was Moe and she was awesome. Moe was friendly, attentive and hard working. We will definitely come back to Stella’s Diner on our next visit to the area to try more items on their menu.
The best Diner in Syracuse. Stella's Diner has the tastiest breakfast and lunch options and provides quick and efficient service for an affordable price. The Stella's Sandwich, with two fried eggs, cheese, and your choice of meat, is my go-to order every time. My friends and I enjoy morning debriefs at Stella's and appreciate the friendly staff, who are always ready to bring another coffee refill.
Betty Boop themed restaurant- this classic cartoon figure peeks from every nook and corner of this eatery- the atmosphere will make you nostalgic. I went there on a public holiday, somewhere between 9 and 10 AM. There was a big lineup to be seated. It was difficult to find parking too. Food was good. Comes in large portions. Specially recommend egg with home fries, and waffles.
Old school, Dinner aesthic. Lots of servers working their tails off. Its loud and bustling on a weekend morning. We got 3 breakfast plates that could have each fed 3. The fretta was outstanding. Stella's has the best homefries.
This restaurant is very high pace fast serving. The food is absolutely delicious. The wait staff our phenomenal friendly. I would recommend this place to anybody that is in the Syracuse area or Camillus area. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are all good on their menu. Been going there for the last four years. Was very pleased when they opened a Camillus restaurant. Which is a lot closer to me. Their waitresses are very friendly and very helpful.
Been going to Stella's for years! It Tastes Like HOME and the portions are generous no matter what you order. If your solo or in a group, it's ALWAYS "Syracuse" Friendly! Staff is always very helpful. Its Spotless...we have NEVER held a dirty menu, sat at a dirty table or had a dirty dish. The table set up is space-generous so patrons are not seated too tightly, unless they want to be.
As diners go, this place is as good as it gets! Large portions, great food, with a side order of sweet attitude. We loved every bit of the experience. Don't be surprised to find a full parking lot filled with people who know good diner food. All four of our meal choices were excellent with just the right amount of flavor and not too much salt. When we're in Syracuse it will be our first choice for a diner meal.
A staple for downtown Syracuse breakfast lovers, Stella's Diner is perfectly located near the mall and highway. Generous servings, tasty combinations of staple breakfast items but also unique dishes (poached cajun eggs - regular local customer). Always speedy service, refills, and friendly waitresses makes for a great way to start your day.
Stella's Diner is awesome. My sons and I ate here a couple of times while in Syracuse before heading to Cooperstown for the Baseball Hall of Fame induction. Food was great. Service was great. Price was great. And it is a real diner, and it shows. Highly recommend!!
This place is amazing. The atmosphere is a classic diner feel, but more importantly, front and back of house went above and beyond to accommodate me despite the allergies I have. I rarely get to eat diner food because of these allergies I got later in life and am visiting back from England so this was a really big deal for me. I showed up expecting to just hang out while my grandfather had some food, so it was a total surprise. I've never felt so welcome, not to mention the food they made was great! I'll most definitely be making this my usual stop when I visit home. Thanks again to the amazing folks at Stella's!
Other than the two go mail that I got for somebody that I had wanted the tuna melt was delicious the person said he recommends anyone that wants the tuna melt should get the tuna melt and try it because it's very delicious the french fries that he had ordered the loaded cheese fries there was barely any cheese on them and also they were not really tasty it didn't have enough salt on there but other than that with my meal that I had inside the restaurant was really high quality it was very delicious other than you really have high quality staffs are really absolutely on point and very impressive and I highly would recommend this place to anybody I didn't tell anybody about me having cancer because I'm trying to take this slow and it's really not anyone's business not trying to sound like a jerk sort of but this really hurt me a lot the a bunch of young woman came past by me and they were being really nasty and talking about me and lowering my self-esteem to make yourselves look good they were basically word bullying me and I did not want to say nothing to my aunt because I did not want to ruin her lunch but other than that I hope this view gets a lot of likes I hope sincerely that these ladies that did this to me know they do not work there they came there to have food and be very rude and talk to somebody like nobody as if they were better than me please do not skip this restaurant because of this only little problem I had I would highly recommend this restaurant to anybody except the part they have rude customers but the people that work there they just do their jobs that's why I'm not holding this against anybody that worked here because they were very polite to me and I respect that and furthermore high quality food restaurant I'm really mean like anybody that is out there should get out there and take a look at this restaurant it is very beautiful and it is nice and their food is very tasty and delicious 🤤😋
Great place for a quick bite to eat on Syracuse north side. Breakfast all day! Great omelets and if you want real maple syrup for your waffles you got it. Waitress was a delight and a wonderful old time diner vibe.
Stella’s Diner is exactly the kind of local gem that makes Syracuse feel like home. I went with my wife, our kid, and my brother-in-law’s family (they were visiting from Florida), and he absolutely insisted we eat here because it’s one of his favorite spots from when he lived in the area. Service was fast and friendly, the food was fantastic, and the prices were very reasonable—especially for feeding a group of adults and kids. Everyone left full and happy. If you’re looking for a great local place with that classic diner feel, generous portions, and a welcoming vibe, Stella’s Diner is an easy recommendation. We’ll definitely be back.
Went here yesterday at dinnertime and was a really great experience. Friendly service, fantastic food. Party of 4. 2 of us had Western omelettes, one had buffalo chicken sandwich with fries and one had a cheeseburger with fries. Food came out so quickly.Portions were pretty big. Between the 2 halves we brought a whole omelette and home fries home. Took deserts to go and really enjoyed chocolate cake and carrot cake. Portions were shareable. Next time we are in Syracuse we will definitely be back!
I had the small plate chicken tenders which we very good. I'm not a fan of the coated fries though. My daughter enjoyed her chocolate chip pancakes and loved her strawberry milkshake but thought the home fries should have been crispy. The service was fine but didn't refill waters. Still a good experience.
This is a diner with yummy breakfast choices! Had a basic scrambled eggs with sausage and hash browns and toast. I enjoyed it with the bottomless coffee refills. There was quite a a wait as it was Sunday morning but they turned over the tables quickly so it was only a fifteen or twenty minute wait. Not bad at all. Service was pleasant. They got out the food quickly. Decor is basic diner, clean, a great place for diner food. No complaints! If you don't mind sitting at the counter when a stool becomes available, then there is no wait at all.
Very nice breakfast with the fam. Went at 11am and the place was absolutely packed. Despite that, the wait time wasn't horrible and neither was the wait for the food itself. The workers were very efficient in keeping things moving and the service we got from this older woman was excellent. Overall a good spot and would definitely go back.
We just moved to Syracuse and really wanted to find a good diner to go to. Stellas has been our go to for breakfast nearly every weekend! Such great food and lovely staff. It made settling in to our new location easier. Definitely our new favorite diner
A Perfect Breakfast at Stella’s Diner! Stella’s Diner in Syracuse is an absolute gem for breakfast lovers! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm, welcoming atmosphere that made us feel right at home. The highlight of my meal was the omelette—cooked to absolute perfection. It was fluffy, flavorful, and packed with fresh, high-quality ingredients. Every bite was a delight, and it’s clear the kitchen knows how to master the art of breakfast. The sides were just as impressive—the toast was perfectly golden, and the hash browns were crispy and seasoned just right. The service was equally fantastic. Our server was attentive, friendly, and made sure our coffee cups were always full. The portions were generous, and the prices were more than reasonable for the quality of food and experience. If you’re in Syracuse and looking for a breakfast spot that delivers on all fronts, Stella’s Diner is the place to go. Great food, great service, and a cozy diner vibe—I can’t wait to come back!
Went to Stella's Diner by chance as we were looking for a place close by to have breakfast before getting back on the road. Waitress was pleasant and attentive. She made sure that our food was served hot and our coffee cups were full. We were surprised with sizable portions that tasted good 😊

Excellent service and great food!! atmosphere is great for an authentic old-time diner feel. Love visiting Stella's!

Great food, great service! Great diner feel to this place! Ideal stop over point for us. We had a couple of different types of burgers and a beef sandwich (which looked awesome!)
Great no frills diner that is serving up good food. Western omelette was delicious and a good portion. I was pleasantly surprised by how good the rye toast was. Also enjoyed that hash brown patties were an option as a side. I did find it strange that it was an up charge to add either the patties or home fries on the side of the omelette. Every diner I’ve ever been to just includes them without the extra charge.
This is a fun, mid-sized diner loaded with Betty Boop memorabilia. Mom and I decided to give this place a try for our weekly lunch. Good news - they have pepsi! Bad news - they don't have normal fries (you can see the coating in the picture). Typically I'd get up and stroll the dining room to see if I can get a look at the fries, but this was lunch with mom so I didn't want to be rude. It was Friday so they had fish, and I got the sandwich. They had a dinner available for like 4 or 5 bucks more than the sandwich. I reckon the dinner comes with two pieces of fish, but idk since I got the Sammy. The piece of fish was a good portion - any smaller and I would have felt ripped off, and a bigger piece would probably be too much. The bun was soft and yummy. Mom got the steak quesadilla, which we gathered was a special cause it was on one of those menu tvs that restaurants are using these days. She let me try and it was good. Lunch for two, plus one soft drink, was 26 bucks before tip. That seems to be how it is these days. You pay for lunch what you used to pay for dinner. Makes me wish I was still a waiter. I noticed they have half pound hamburgers on the menu. Wow. I'm going to give one of those a try on our next visit.
Stella’s is a solid go to for breakfast. Kitchen is relatively quick even when they are busy. Food is basic. Seasoning is minimal or nonexistent but a little salt, pepper, and ketchup makes breakfast edible. Waitstaff is always fun and on top of things. Not a fan of Betty Boop and oversexualizing of women but it fits the classic diner theme. Photo is veggie breakfast burrito. It was wet in the bottom and no way to pick it up. Better off getting the veggie fretta. Same thing without the wet tortilla.
This was our first time trying this place. I chose it because it came up when I searched "best breakfast places in Syracuse." I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 simply because of how long it took to get our food. The food was excellent though, and the staff was extremely friendly. I would definitely go back!
Nostalgic diner. They have good coffee and the homemade raisin toast was yummy. Other than the one waitress loudly yelling to the kitchen every few minutes, I enjoyed it. The young waitress was annoying though.
Good food, clean diner, friendly staff, reasonable prices. Not a lot to say about Stella’s. A staple of the area. It had been years since I’d been here and they are still just as good. I do wish they’d clean up the omelette section of the menu and just let people build their own. You’ve got to find the closest one to what you actually want, then make substitutions and request additional things. They don’t skimp on the cheese like other diners though and that’s always a plus.
No wait. Great breakfast! Fast service. Normal diner atmosphere, cute Betty Boop decorations. Eggs Benedict and home fries seasoned well, tasty and filling! Good portions.

Eggs were raw cinnamon toast was really good\nGood service\nA long wait a lot of yelling in the kitchen
Arrived around noon. No wait and was immediately seated. Ordered Eggs, bacon, French toast, and grits. Was good but nothing to rave about. Grits were a bit grainy and dry.
Cute little diner. Everything looked good in the menu. I got the Monte Cristo. It was so good. Nice size portions. Friendly staff.

Great food for a great price, nice staff. Didn’t have kids menu but they were accommodating. They let the kids have a baby salad with an egg and cheese sandwich for dinner.

The place was a real local spot. The tables turned quickly and the staff were very friendly. The food was ok. The hash browns were delicious. The pancakes were just ok and a little chewy, though …
It was fast and the service was nice. However, didn’t get what we ordered and had to beg for coffee. The hash was so bland that my husband had one bite. Normally he’s licking the plate.

Visited here for the first time in at least 10 years. It definitely isn’t as good as I remembered it to be. The prices were extremely high for what you are getting, and the food was just basic, not…
Kind of a dirty feel inside, decor was classic low-end American diner which is somewhat iconic. Waitresses constantly yelling (yes, yelling) back and forth with the hostess’ stand. Was told our wait for the table would be 20-25 minutes and it was nearly double that. Table service was incredibly slow — seems like our waitress was stretched too thin and wasn’t even in the dining area half the time. The food was regular diner food; nothing crazy but it did the trick.
I've tried to give Stella's a try a couple few times. But my most resent visit will definitely be my last. Most waitresses are nice, but have gotten my order wrong 3 different times now. And this last time the cooks and a couple waitresses got mad when I asked for it to be fixed. I was sitting right near the front station and could hear them upset and talking loudly about it. Like, ummm I want what I ordered and am paying for. Now I don't want to say they purposely messed with my food but it definitely upset my stomach pretty bad (obviously I won't go in detail but you get it). I'm done with this over hyped place.
