I’m not even sure where to start. We got bruschetta, artichoke and spinach dip, and my wife got bacon wrapped scallops and all were amazing for starters. Then along came Trevor with what we’ll call the best Caesar salad in New Jersey. My wife and I ordered the Steak 38 filet for two…we ordered medium because we learned that’s how we like good steak lol….well this one was great!!!! Our server Rocco made time to take a picture for us while giving us excellent service throughout…..then back came Trevor with the bananas foster and OOOOOOH EMMMMMM GEEEEEEE!!!! This was the all around best experience we’ve had in a while a definite return trip is coming!!!!

Vanilla old fashioned, ok but the Wyoming bourbon was not smooth and you really could not notice the vanilla. Chocolate martini was good. Lobster bisque was delicious. I had the 8 ounce filet mignon, medium rare, it was perfect . The hubby had the 24oz prime rib, medium, which was very good. We had a side of Mac&Cheese, which was basic, I would not recommend. We didn’t have room for dessert. 😊 Service was excellent.

I was brought here for my birthday and the staff didn’t know that. They made out while night feel extremely special. Staff was Very knowledgeable, had amazing recommendations and delicious food. Ed was our server and he was exceptionally great. Everyone was great and you can feel the teamwork atmosphere here. Every staff member was very knowledgeable. Definitely was the best dining experience I’ve had in a very long time.

We went to Steak 38 Tabernacle to celebrate a special day for our family. Our experience along with everyone we dealt with was amazing! The hostess, the waiter and waitress, the gentleman that prepared our Ceasar Salad table side along with the Bananas Foster made our night very special and made sure our celebration was memorable. Thank you for the special touches and attention to detail you gave our family tonight. We will be back!

My boyfriend and my first time here! From beginning to end, a great experience. We started with half dozen oysters and the bacon wrapped scallops. The oysters fed my all-day craving I was having. And the crispy bacon, jumbo scallops did not disappoint!! We did the Steak38 Dinner (for two)— table side caesar salad, filet mignon (with sides), and table side bananas foster. Needless to say, we enjoyed every bite of it all. The staff here is so attentive!! Ryan, Ed, and the two gentlemen providing the table side dishes all made a great team in making our dinner experience impeccable. Will be coming again :) My boyfriend says Ryan was a stud. What a guy.

I’ve been coming to Steak 38 for about 2 years. I’m always surprised by how well the food and service is. I’m not someone that is overly impressed by most local establishments but the attention to detail and execution at this restaurant is exceptional. I want to thank the chefs, staff and managers for doing such great work. Looking forward to our next experience.

Perfect start to finish. Valet parking. Perfect. Greeting at the podium. Lizzy and Brianna........Perfect. Table location ......clean with great location, we can talk and enjoy our meal without excessive noise. Perfect. Server or waiter, Ryan. Perfect. Jacob the manager , low key, like a friend you haven't seen in awhile. They have seating at the bar, contemporary decor. I suggest casual but a bit dressy . The dinner = hot and fresh. Ceaser salad made fresh at the table in a wooden bowl. The dressing was fresh, the croutons were fresh , the lettuce was crispy . No refrigeration odors , I know whats fresh out of a kitchen. Denise had a 8oz filet mignon, I had the prime rib....both cooked medium and perfect! Green beans had the snap we enjoyed with mashed potatoes. Desert was triple layered chocolate cake with whipped cream and blueberries. At the end , Valet pick up quick . 5 Stars, great job Steak 38. We will be back soon. I just booked my company christmas party there it was so enjoyable. Thanks! Stan and Denise.

The atmosphere, service and food was amazing. The food is a bit costly but worth every penny. The steak was extremely tender the shrimp was cooked to perfection and the spinach was cooked with just the right amount of spices. Our waitress was knowledgeable on every product we asked about. We definitely recommend this restaurant.

Thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere, the service and the food was fantastic. Had a Christmas dinner party for our staff and it was perfect- steaks were cooked perfect, my salmon was 10/10!

First timer here! It was by chance I discovered this place as I just so happened to be driving by, and I have NO COMPLAINTS. I’d have to say it’s probably one of the best steaks I’ve eaten in the area. The overall atmosphere is great, nice lighting, and not too dark. Our server was wonderful! Very lively and pleasant. The surf n turf was killer, and the sides were full of flavor. Even the kids Mac n cheese was delicious. The other half got a NY Strip with the espresso rub and it was unbelievable! They prepare your Caesar salad table side, with fresh made Caesar dressing, and the bananas foster is also flambé’d table side! Everything was portioned well too. IMO, better steak than Flemings & Capitol Grille! I’d highly recommend, and will absolutely return.

My husband and I went for the lobster and filet special. The food was delicious and the dessert was wonderful. Can’t wait to go back!

Wow..steak 38 is absolutely amazing. We don’t know too much about the restaurant but drive past the one in Cherry Hill quite often. Book using Open Tables and luckily they had an open spot the same day. Upon arriving, the atmosphere feels right with valet personnel greeting immediately. We were able to park at WSFS bank parking lot. There was only a 10 min wait with reservation so we spent the time at the bar. The hostess came and got us when the table was ready. Our server was great and got us started with a pair of champagne. We were celebrating our anniversary. There are lots of options for steak and seafood. I was tempted to try the prime ribs but end up ordering the 24oz ribeyes steak. We also order a dozen variations of oyster and double lobster tails. I was surprised that both entrees were huge and also comes with mash potatoes and string beans. Finally we didn’t have to order $15.00 vegetables like most steakhouse. Food was delicious, cook to perfection and the lobster tails are jumbos. We will certainly be back to try some other entrees such as the dry age ribeye and prime ribs. Overall staff is attentive. This one is a hidden gem.

The best steak I have ever had! Went here for my 33rd birthday. I thrive on mostly carnivore based diet grass fed beef. Exquisite interior great atmosphere and amazing dishes. Price was not to bad for a high caliber steak house. Only Negative was 4 adults a toddler counts as 5 people and they added gratuity automatically.

We are long time fans of the original steak 38 in cherry hill and have been meaning to visit their new location. Must say we were so impressed! We got table side ceaser, prime rib, rib eye and a few cocktails. It was all excellent as was the service. Highly recommend for a fancy get together or special event!

This is an amazing steak place! I grew up going to Steak 38 in Cherry Hill. However, the last time was in 2002, with my Mom who adored the twin lobster dish. We have passed Steak 38 while traveling Route 206 many times, this time we stopped! I felt we might have been a-little under dressed, coming from an afternoon at Washington Crossing, but we wandered in on a Sunday. I would recommend reservations as it fills up quickly. We arrived early, just opening so the Extremely charming hostess seated us without delay. Our waiter seemed a bit cold and condescending at first, and was hard to locate during the meal. However, the food was to order, cooked exquisitely, served in a timely manner by other staff. The portions were generous. We had steak, eggs and potatoes from leftovers! The owner greeted each table and was extremely gracious. The atmosphere was very relaxing, and inviting. We wish them the best of luck at this location.

Went for our 30th anniversary. The service and food was excellent. They had a long stem rose at our table. Ryan our server was friendly and attentive but not intrusive. We also had Edward who made the best Caesar salad and banana foster at the table. This was our first time at this restaurant and will sure come back. They made our anniversary celebration extra special.

When you first enter it is absolutely stunning! The food and drinks are divine, my only complaint is that the Yule Mule and Braised Short ribs are seasonal but if you are going soon a definite must order! The table side Caesar and bananas foster add just the right amount of pizz azz if you are celebrating or want to impress a first date but also delectable. My husband ordered the Filet Royale and with his first bite he would have died a happy man 😂 this is a definite must place!

Lovely dinner , service and atmosphere! And they have specials during the week now for surf and turf, which was just delicious! Highly recommend! During the week we did not need a reservation and had no wait. Really lovely experience for an early Mother's Day dinner.

Been wanting to try the new location since it opened. Made reservations on open table when my husband expressed interest in eating here for his birthday. Food and service were impeccable. Loved it so much we're going back for our anniversary next month.

Service was great our waitress Marie was very attentive. Food delicious, minor hiccup with my steak but it was rectified immediately. The margarita was delicious also and dessert Fly me to the moon was to die for. It was our first time here and we loved it.

My girlfriend and I really enjoyed our experience there. We had the bacon wrapped scallops and the Steak 38 for two. The meal was incredible, the Bananas Fosters for dessert was decadent, which they prepare table side. Quite a show I may add. The service was amazing and the atmosphere was beautiful. I highly recommend

We had a fine dining adventure at the new Steak 38 Tabernacle! This location used to be the Tabernacle Inn, one of our favorite spots, so we were eagerly awaiting the opening. I had some good local beer, Brotherton IPA and Swamp Donkey from Pinelands Brewing. My wife enjoyed a Jersey Devil Blueberry Old Fashioned and some Moscow Mules. For dinner we had the Prime Rib and Roast Duck, both were delicious! My wife doesn’t like bananas but it was fun to watch them make the table side Bananas Foster dessert. We had reservations in early December, right when they opened, so the highlight of our adventure was the exciting atmosphere of a new restaurant! If you’re looking for great food and great drinks, give Steak 38 Tabernacle a try 🥩🥃🍗🌲#nacle #adventuresinsouthjersey #steak38tabernacle #pinelandspub

I've been here several times for different occasions, and everyone here makes you feel at home from the time you enter until you leave. You will never feel rushed. The food is incredible! I've had the filet, surf and turf, and the dinner for 2, which comes complete with salad and dessert. The restaurant itself is beautiful, and the seating is comfortable. Try it. You won't be disappointed.

Food was great! Calimari, bruschetta, bacon wrapped scallops for appetizers. Ribeye, blue cheese crusted NY strip, and chicken marsala for main courses. Everything was cooked perfectly. Our waiter John was very friendly and attentive. Service was great. Highly recommend. Will definitely be going back.

Before I say anything else, this was highly attentive service from multiple team members. Good form. Food is good, though I am not sure if it is quite as high end as it is presented to be. Truly, though, the experience was top notch all thanks to the attentive and friendly service from the staff. I definitely recommend it for the atmosphere and service. They accommodated every request, including custom drink requests that were very well crafted.

Had a fabulous time last Saturday evening celebrating 2 birthdays. Drinks were perfect. We had a special appetizer of eggplant and shrimp that was delicious. We all had the tableside ceaser salad that was outstanding. Our dinners of surf and turf and strip steak were incredible! Service was outstanding! Can't wait to go back.

Ok been there about 5 times. Must say the food is very good, and the service is top notch the atmosphere is also good. It is one of our go to. The price is somewhat high but I don't mine. The food and service makes up for that. We go to the Tabernacle one. A must try place

We were pleased to enjoy Kayla as our amazing server. Our bus boy Logan made sure our table was clear and our water glasses were full. Ed made out banana foster flambé. What an amazing experience for my birthday, thank you. Cannot forget Nolan, or newbe learning to be 5 stas. Good luck! You have amazing peers to learn from.

Truly an experience. Don’t be discouraged by the disgruntled past servers leaving reviews, stop by yourself and enjoy a peaceful, satisfying evening with delights at every stage. From the atmosphere to the entrees steak 38 is exceeding expectations, and creating regulars for life. Thank you to the Manager Jacob and his lovely team for a wonderful restaurant experience. We will be back soon!!

We had dinner at steak 38, tabernacle tonight. Delicious bacon wrapped scallops. We had perfectly cooked ribeyes with a perfect char. Our waiter, Ed, was wonderful! All of the staff were on the ball and very certious. Very good guitar player providing music.

We come here on special occasions. This time was for my wife's birthday. Upon making the reservations, I was asked if there was a special occasion and I told them what it was for. When we arrived the table was decorated with "Happy Birthday" confetti. Food and drinks were great and went with a couple friends. Everyone enjoyed themselves.

Very cool spot away from the hustle and bustle. Great spot if you enjoy Bourbon as they have plenty of choices like EH Taylor, Weller, and Whistle Pig. The base for most of their bourbon cocktails is Bullet. For appetizers we had the Peach Caprese and the Bacon Wrapped Scallops which were both delicious and fairly priced. For entrees, the wife ordered the special of the night which was an 8oz Filet with shrimp in a bourbon cream sauce, which was excellent. I ordered the 28 Oz Bone-in Rib-eye which was on a separate card from the full menu. It was equally delicious. Both entrees were served with green beans and mashed potatoes which were very good. The wife is a little sensitive to spice and didn’t enjoy the red pepper flake the green beans were cooked with. We also had had mushrooms and the truffle fries as additional sides. Both were very good and well priced. Dessert for myself was the table side bananas foster which was amazing. The wife ordered a crème brûlée cheesecake which was good but the sugar topping was pushing the limit of caramelization and bordering burnt. My only complaint comes back to the way their specialty steaks weren’t presented on the main menu. As I mentioned above, I ordered a 28oz rib-eye which was hidden on a separate card that was already on the table. I caught it last minute and asked if I could order it instead of the regular 20 Oz rib-eye on the menu. Shame on me for not asking the price but that steak ended up being a $124 beauty. There were no problems and the steak was excellent but it was double the price of any steak on the regular menu and $84 more expensive than the steak I originally ordered. Again, blame is on me for not investing more thought into the decision but considering the rest of the menu’s pricing, there should either be a price on that item as a disclaimer or if it’s market priced the server should have some dialogue explaining that there is a pretty good jump between the normal rib-eye and the bone in. Overall, it was a really nice experience and the food was very good. We will be back and make more informed decisions next time.

The service and the appetizers/dessert were fantastic. The steak was good- I would say a B but you're paying A prices so it's slightly misaligned. We definitely enjoyed the experience overall and would never say it isn't good here, but would probably shop around next time we want to drop a couple hundred bucks on dinner.

K

We went here for our anniversary dinner. We had the Steak 38 for 2. The tableside Caesar salad was delicious. Filet mignon was great, as was the bananas Foster. Not much in the way of ambiance as it was loud and the decor was confusing. The service was very good and attentive. The espresso martini was top tier.

First timers for us and we were pleased! The music played was good for digestion. The atmosphere was so much more cozy than any other restaurant. The waiter, manager, and owner were very attentive to us both! First impressions are key, and they all hit the mark. If one goes to Steak 38, wanting cheap food, they'll need to look elsewhere. If you are used to boxed, synthetic, or non organic foods, head on out to a town diner because your taste buds are not suited for real food! I had the Fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp, and the Mrs had the Roasted Duck with Asparagus. Absolutely delicious. And we both have enough for another meal. The bottom line is you get what you pay for. We spent $112 and felt (for the first time in our lives) blessed to have such a wonderful meal and experience. Update: approx. June 21, 2025, stopped in with the Mrs remembering what a great time we on our first visit and walked in with our nephew and it was like a ghost town. You could hear clamoring nearby but nobody would answer to our presence. We said hello numerous times to no avail. There were no instructions on the main doors stating that the restaurant was closed to the public or anything like that. So we walked out confused and went somewhere else. There are plenty of other restaurants where the cost of dining is an easy C-note per plate.

A basic diner vibe is the decor - I expected more from the hype. The pricing is off from the quality of food. The French onion soup was heavy on what I can only describe as “old bay” flavoring?!?! The wine by the glass must have sat open for at least the entirety of the day because it was flat and for $15 a glass it should be freshly opened or at least served within a few hours. The prime rib was just salt and nothing more. The Bernaise sauce was again nothing but salt. The chicken for $28 was small and nothing special The bananas foster was not worth it. Half an already opened banana from the previous order with barely a drizzle of sauce over the ice cream for $11 They had the chance to do something amazing in an area where they are the only game in town. The area can support the pricing but it isn’t fair to not give the optimum product for what they are charging. That was a one shot visit because they won’t change a thing. 3 stars is a gift. The waitress earned that for them as she was friendly, attentive and got the order exactly as requested.

Great service, mediocre food. Didn't realize we needed to make reservations for 2 on a Thursday evening, so we just pulled up on the bike and asked for a table. They did have a table, but recommended we make reservations next time. Menu has a wide variety of seafood and steak. Unfortunately, I'm allergic to shellfish and didn't feel like having steak that night, so I was limited to a couple of chicken and salmon dishes. I chose the special, pistachio crusted salmon with green beans. My husband got a New York strip, medium well. We also ordered the Ceasar salad which is made table side with the waiter making the dressing fresh, even down to the anchovies. The potato of the day was Au gratin, and they turned out pretty bland. My salmon was also pretty bland, and the "crust" had almost no taste except salt. I've gotten better salmon at Applebee's. The green beans had the most taste of anything, and they were spicy for some reason. My husband enjoyed his steak even though it was a little undercooked. I chose the bananas foster for dessert so I could again, see a table side show. The waiter made the sauce and bananas fresh and put it over a scoop of vanilla ice cream. I think he caramelized the sugar a little much because the dessert was chewy and a little overdone with the taste of burnt raisins. For all the money we spent here, I wish I could say it was worth it, but we will not be returning.

Nice restaurant. The staff was very nice. Did like that they make your salad at table side. I ordered the surf and turf. It was OK. Steak was over cooked for a medium and lobster tail was very overcooked. Mashed potatoes were very good. Creamed spinach and string beans also good. Our shrimp Alfredo was ordered wrong but quickly brought out the correct plate. Pasta and sauce were delicious but again the shrimp was over cooked. My son liked the spicy plate he got don't remember what it was but he was happy, until our waitress knocked over a full glass of ice water in his lap. Atleast it was towards the end of diner and she was so sorry.. Its been on my list to try now we did and I'm not sure if I'd go back.

Great service, multiple servers for one thing or another. All did a fantastic job. Peach salad, Steak Diane were both fine. Salmon was excellent and cooked as requested with specific instructions. The restaurant itself is just ok. This location has been owned by several different restaurants over the years. All have had the same issue, it's too loud. The ceiling is vaulted so the atmosphere is not intimate. As we left, we passed through the bar area which looked to be a little cozier. When we pulled into the parking lot and attempted to park in an empty spot, a valet person began waving their arms and yelling you can't park there. We declined to be valet parked and we were told we were welcome to look for a space on the opposite side of the building.Luckily we were able to locate one at the end of the paved lot. But the parking lot is small and the area on the left side of the building is unpaved and was a jumble of haphazardly parked vehicles. Also, was surprised how many diners were dressed in ripped jeans and sweatpants. I guess there's no dress code. I found it amusing as I looked around the restaurant that we all had the complimentary mound of mashed potatoes and stack of green beans on our plates. It looked like a mess hall in the army.

Dined with a group of 10 Dads during the Eagles/Cowboys Sunday night game. Place was relatively empty and we had 2 servers taking orders and delivering food and drinks. I was the only member drinking beer while everyone else ordered wine or mixed drinks. 20 minutes later had to ask twice for my drink after several toasts were given. Ordered a French Onion Soup for a starter that was delivered after everyone else's starters were finished and being cleared as our main entrees were served. "It was taken off the bill" was the apology I received. Ordered the New Zealand rack of lamb and only ate 1, gummy and flavorless. I lived in New Zealand so was expecting better from this. I gave the rest to my dog. Never saw a manager walk the floor or check-in with the table. Staff still took home a nice 20% built-in gratuity on $1000 check. In fairness, the rest of my party seemed pleased with their service and food. $150 for one beer, french onion soup and lackluster lamb.

2.5 (can’t give half stars). Went for happy hour, the good was the bartender, Steve, made some great drinks, super attentive, upbeat personality. The bad was the wagyu burgers Apps (prime rib egg rolls and blue chips were good). We ordered them medium and medium rare. Both came out well done. Bartender asked how they came out, we showed him, he insisted they go back, off they went. About 20-25ish minutes later our burgers came back out! Only to find they were both again well done. The bartender was super apologetic and again insisted they go back and get ones made right. I was too hungry, so I ate it. My wife can’t stand a well done burger when she ordered medium rare. Didn’t have the time to wait for anything else to come out so we finished up and left. BOH manager came out to apologize. Did not offer anything else off the menu in its place to come out on a rush, nor a complimentary round of drinks, just an apologize and explanation about their wagyu beef supplier or something, nonetheless she left hungry and I forced down a dried out burger. We would come back again only because the bartender was great, I truly wonder if they can cook their steaks properly if they couldn’t handle cooking at least 1 out of 4 burgers properly.

I went their the other day. Food was really mid tbh. I would rate it like a 6 or 7 if i lied. I give it a 2 at best. I had the linguini and clams and they were ALIVE.

I came here for a steak not an indoor water park. Ceiling drips right onto the tables, so every bite comes with a complimentary splash of “house water” Management seems to think buckets are part of the décor. If you enjoy soggy bread, light fixtures full of water and instead of “dancing in the rain” over there they have “cooking in the rain” and I found out they fired all of my favorite waitresses all 6! Of them! Now why in the world would they do that? Other than that bring an umbrella, you’re gonna need it!👎🏼🤡

Dined here before and figured it was worth coming back. Big mistake. Food was sub par, and when I tried to have a manager stop by, I was unable to. I did notice what seemed to be a manger at the bar enjoying dinner and what seemed to be a cocktail. Odd during work hours, but what do I know!? His lack of attention to a busy dining room caught my eye though. Service was awful, received attitude more than once and had no resolution for my bad experience. Guess managers were too busy enjoying a Saturday night. Sad experience, won’t be back.

We arrived at exactly 4 PM on December 30. Original seating was a booth closest to the bar area, which was packed and quite noisy. We asked for a quieter section, which was in side room with the large windows. We were the only party in the room for a while but that was fine. Service was SLOW...Cocktails Waited 20 minutes before two of the four cocktails arrived, then waited a long time before the other drinks arrived. Waitress apologized several times for the delay due to the bar being packed so early and a party of 12 having all arrived together. I must say the cocktails were delicious. (Speakeasy, Old Fashioned, Blood Orange Manhattan.) ...Appetizers: Diablo Calamari, Bacon Wrapped Scallops, Fried Zucchini were good. However, only two of the three appetizers were served. Ultimately, after waiting quite a while the third appetizer arrived. ...Main Entrees: The most important event. All entrees arrived warm, not hot. Mashed potatoes room temperature. Filet steaks on the dry side. All entries including Lobster Ravioli looked as though they were left waiting far too long before being served. Lobster Bisque arrived COLD. UGH. ...Desserts. Bananas Forrester very good. Chocolate cake dry. ...Review: Service very polite but so slow and haphazard. (Two parties arriving after us had already left by the time our bill was presented.) Biggest disappointment was the entrees. My family reined me in so I would not complain while we were there, and said to just forget it. If I needed to complain then write a review, so this is it. I was so hoping for a family holiday five-star dining experience. That did not happen. One and done.
