Little peice of heaven -just like Mama would make! Their menudo (lo siento Mama) but it's the best I've ever had. I've ordered at least 3 times a week since I've discovered it. It's soooo good! That and their fish tacos are amazingly good. Don't take my word -see taste for yourself!

This is my go-to place whenever I am craving Mexican Food. The food at El Ranchito Taco Shop never disappoints. The fish tacos I got for breakfast were delicious, and the service was excellent. The food was reasonably priced. Staff was very fast and friendly. Overall, quality food and service for a moderate price!

Dropped by here while waiting for my prescription at the CVS nearby and so glad that I did. Picked up the most delicious menudo! The wait wasn’t too bad despite how busy the place was because it was lunch time. It’s obviously a popular spot for those that work close to this taco shop. The prices are less than Aztec tacos across the street.

My favorite item on their menu is their Shrimp Cocktail or "coctel de camarones". It is as good as it looks. It is a meal, not just a snack. The staff here are great.

Highly recommended mexican food restaurant. Really good food handsdown. Many options to choose from. You can dine in or take out. If you want to have a good Mexican meal, then this might just be the one.

I'm one of those people that likes to order almost the same thing every time they go to a certain restaurant and this happens here I order 5 rolled tacos no guac u probably think I'm crazy but I don't like guac anyways I order that and get the green salsa it's delicious a perfect combination if I ask me also the coke as in the soda goes very well wt this. Take it from a Mexican.

El Ranchito is our “GO TO” eatery on most Sundays for nothing starts our day like the homemade menudo and any of the breakfast burritos. Lately, the chorizo burrito has been my personal favorite. The month before was the sausage & egg. The price truly meets our budget. As for the staff, they certainly are very positive, well mannered & greet us with genuine warmth & smiles.

Been coming here since my son was in a car seat now he’s in college and I still come here. Some of the same faces still and so kind.

This is my favorite food in all of Temecula - it’s so so good! It’s hot and delicious every time! The restaurant is so clean the worker was literally cleaning inside the trash area, so so clean.

Best authentic Mexican fast food in Temecula. Very casual atmosphere. All the food tastes great. Our favorites are the pollo asada burritos, soft tacos, nachos, chicken soup and quesadillas. We generally get our food to go, but eat there when it's not too full.

Just had the California tacos with medium hot salsa. Talk about the perfect setup for a cold day. The steak is perfectly cooked and has lots of flavor and plenty of moisture. The guac is also just the right amount to accent without taking over. Related to El Ranchito in Poway...notorius for amazing food since the 90s in that area. I will definitely be returning here. Thank you!

Flour tortillas taste home made and not store bought. They have delicious hard tacos, bean and carne asada burritos, and rolled tacos. All of their salsas are bomb.

I was in the business of " white gloving" restaurants. I have to give a huge shout out to this location and staff. The place is spotless. Always clean. The best way to tell is corners and baseboards. Great job!

Our favorite 'go to' for take out Mexican. Generous portions and authentic Mexican flavors. Thankfully, it does not taste like 'chain' food. Service is excellent and the place is super clean. We also eat inside. Breakfast burritos are good (I wish they opened a little sooner than 8 am). Lunch today didn't have 1 open table but wait was quick.

The flautas are AWESOME! The food is always good. Only issue I've ever had was the dinning area, they were slammed and not enough people to bus tables. Not really their fault as people are never helpful, you can throw your own trash away. Just wish they were open earlier as I am always wanting a burrito at 0530 when I'm feeding the animals and too lazy to cook. The shredded beef tacos are good as is the chili verde burrito. Taco shop is the best Mexican place in town. My family and I have been going there for over 10 years and it's still my favorite. I go there with my friends now and everyone loves it. Their salsa is amazing, carrots are spicy, and burritos/tacos are wonderful!

The food here is amazing! Can’t complain about how fresh it is. Only thing I worry about is, during this COVID-19 crisis there are many people who come in without a mask! There is a sign up on the wall that says “No Mask. No Service”, but the shop is not reinforcing it! The sign should be posted on the MAIN entrance so everyone can see it. I wear my mask to ensure others are comfortable around me as well as ensuring I do not get anyone sick

I just had a caldo de pollo and pozole door dashed to my family back home. They are so happy with the soups and tacos (carne asada)! They said the meal was delivered hot and fast and all of it was delicious! The meal came with many appropriate condiments with were fresh and delicious as well. Thank you!!

Wow, the food was so good. We got a carne asada burrito and the chicken fajitas plate and they were both delicious. My boyfriend describes the burrito as good. I had the fajitas plate so everything was separate so I could taste each thing individually and I’m so glad I did! The rice reminded me of my mom’s Spanish rice. Fluffy with some tomato and salt and other sea dining that didn’t overwhelm. The refried beans has the right amount of salt and just a sprinkle of cheese on top. The chicken was cooked to perfection and I didn’t get one bite or cartilage or fatty pieces…just perfect juicy bites that were so divine with the grilled onions and bell peppers. They give you a scoop of guacamole and some fresh salads from the salsa bar which was also phenomenal. I would come here on a regular basis if I lived local. Speaking of which the amount of people coming in for to go orders was non stop! You can tell a place is so good when they have non stop customers.

Despite the "chain store" sort of appearance, this is a Mexican Home Cooking heaven! Everything is HOMEMADE right in this restaurant. The food is delicious; reminded me of the times I have eaten at the homes of my Mexican friends. If you like real Mexican food, you will love this place!

I've lived in Temecula for over 15 years and this has been my go-to since day one. The kids could never remember the name, so we just started calling it "Taco Pete's" for some reason...and we still call it that. :) Great food, and the staff has always been friendly and helpful...and I can't get enough of the carrots and jalapeños! If you want no frills, but amazing food in a nice, clean place with friendly people, then you deserve this food.

This place is always great... But tonight headed over to azteka taco next door for albondigas soup and was told FORTY minute wait. For soup. So we came back to good old Taco Shop for rolled tacos and horchata. And no wait. #protip: order the carne asada fries with chorizo instead of carne asada. You won't regret it. 🤤😍😉

The California Burrito was great! The carne asada was really tender. I forgot to add guacamole 😣. Next time! The salsa bar was clean and the pickled carrots were amazing. I'll be back for sure.

Today was my first time eating here, food was pretty good , nice and fresh .. staff seemed friendly for the most part and the inside was very clean .. I had a burrito, beans and rice and 2 tacos and a drink for around 20$ .. I think it a was probably fairly priced .. I'll definitely eat here again and hopefully they can get that 5th star

Got a couple breakfast burritos. Tastes good with good salsa options. Pretty small size for a $10-$12 burrito though.

This taco shop is decent. There's nothing special about but it is solid. This is after only dining here once. Maybe after a few more visits I'll give a better review.

This is our "go to" little taco shop. A cut above the others in the area IMO. The food is good and has been reliably consistent over the years. Plus the people that work there are great and the place is always clean. Not 4 star dining but no little taco spot is.

This was my first visit to the restaurant. The staff was friendly and eager to wait on me. I ordered enchiladas with shredded beef and chicken soup. The beef in the enchiladas was very tasty and the soup was delicious. There was nothing to write home about regarding the rice and beans. I'm very particular about my beans because I have had some of the best in the past. The restaurant was clean and some what busy. I didn't give a five star rating because I felt they were very pricey for what I ordered. A lot of restaurants seemed to have raised there prices quite a bit. I understand the whole Covid thing but it's getting to be a tired excuse.

My family and I had carne asada, adobada, and carnitas tacos, they were good however they tasted more on the dry side. Tacos had no guacamole, else where all taco shops include guacamole on tacos. Overall prices were good.

Every time I come to Cali I have to have Mexican food. But the asada burrito was soaked too much with green wac. Very little asada it tasted like any burrito in my state of Arizona. The asada tacos in the other hand were delicious. Fresh tortilla. Need to add cilantro. I’m a truck driver and this is my first time in Temecula.

I tried the chilaqyiles,... My question is...who eats chilaquiles with tortillas on the side?? They were dry, i put some salsa wich i have not found good salsas around, they are watery. Do i recommend this place....? Chilaquilaes were not that bad ,just not for me.

Friendly service, food Mid quality, green salsa watery and mostly lime juice. Food good, nothing to call home about. Atmosphere clean and nice.

The food was decent but boy were they small portions. I'm used to albertos or other shops giving big portions. We ordered a California burrito it was the size of a microwave Tina's burrito. And the Carne aside quesadilla looks like it was made with a small Guerrero tortilla. And the two beef tacos were puny also. Paid 30 dollars for this. And I was still hungry after my quesadilla. Albertos gives twice the portion for a the same or less price.

Salsas are ok. Got the Carne asada plate.eat taste/texture is like it was boiled in water with a dirty sock. Pretty expensive as well. Small portions... Beans and rice are good. Should've just gotten the Carne asada plate with out the Carne asada, and more beans instead

Ordered 2 breakfast burritos. We get them at all the El ranchitos in the area because we love them usually. This is first time at this location and it was not good. Asked for extra beans instead of meat, but the burrito was swimming in beans to point it just spewed out and was falling everywhere. Also there weren't hashbrowns. Husband asked for extra ricein place of meat but his was also mostly rice. Both too salty and not good all around. Will stick with other el ranchitos.

Very sad to say, after being a loyal customer for over 8 years, I have to change my rating. Still the best tacos in town, but the staff was very rude to me today. I ordered over $60 of food last night on door dash. Not only was I missing an item, but they sent NO salsa with the order. When I came in today to pick up my missing item and some salsa for my food (no I didn't eat it last night because without salsa what's the point) I asked to have more than the one small salsa cup that they gave me and was told no. I said I ordered 7 items the night before and received no salsa and they still said no. Very disappointed!

The food doesn't taste fresh and way overpriced. A restaurant like this should offer free chips if they have a salsa bar for the prices they are charging. I won't be going back. I received a response to the review above which started out as an apology "we're sorry..." But ended with "... you confused us with Taco Bell" I would have liked to change my review if the writer had acknowledged my criticism and consider looking at drawing more customers. Their assumption that I don't know food preparation quality and a snide remark rather than a commitment to improve, (wether they agree or not) is the seed of degrading business model. It is ironic, however, that my 12 year old granddaughter said after eating her meal, "I kinda wish we had gone to Taco Bell". Since the reviews have been relatively high, I can only assume that the owner is not taste testing. I will try one of the other franchise restaurants to see if there is a difference. I have always preferred authentic Mexican food to fast food. By the way, the salsas were very good, I should have included this in my original post in order to be fair.

My family and I tried Taco shop in Temecula for the first time. When my son and I went in to order, the staff was looking at us kind of weird. I ordered 20 taquitoes, beans, rice and chips and salsa and a side of corn tortillas. When I took the order home for a barbque, the minute you opened the bag all we smelled was fish. I didn't order anything with seafood. The corn tortillas smelled like fish and the taquitoes. Someone must have been touching some seafood and then touched our food. People need to be more careful of this, people are allergic to seafood sometimes. We spent $60 on food that people didn't want to eat. The beans, rice and chips and salsa was excellent, just the other food was bad. I feel like they should replace our 20 taquitoes that nobody wanted to eat. If you choose to eat here just be careful and double check your food.

This place has great food but it’s ridiculous on there pricing I got a taco plat 3 tacos nachos and fries and quesadilla and they want to charge $71 are you kidding me that’s crazy how owners try to take advantage. Mind you I totally understand COVID has hit our restaurants the most but this is crazy and insane! I will not be going back there again. I believe in keeping our small businesses alive but this is insane!

This place was alright I guess depending on what you order. So I've only been here once and we ordered several things from the menu. The rolled taquitos were good but the menudo was not. The sopes were okay and the Cali burrito was good. I wanted to like this restaurant but I don't think I'll come back here unless it's only for a burrito. And if I happen to be in the area but if I am in the area there are much better places to decide on. I would have given this 3 stars but the more I thought about it it shouldn't deserve it due to the customer service. A smile goes a long way and all I remember are frowns.

Went here for the first time on Taco Tuesday. All of the hard tacos are the same price on their menu, however shredded beef is not included in the Taco Tuesday special, which I found disappointing. I ordered three ground beef tacos and was not impressed at all. They are in pre-made hardshell similar to the Old El Paso Pack you'd buy in the grocery store. The ground beef was tasteless. Everything is rationed for you: I was given three Salsa cups and three napkins -no self serve here. Several salsas are super watery or "tomatoey." Again, not a whole lot of spicing or flavors. Combined these made for a very taco- shop-substandard taco. Also, during my 30 minute visit, no lobby cleaning was done. The order-taker would just stand behind the register on her cell phone instead of cleaning as several soiled tables, etc. Some other menu items might be better, but ai probably won't be back to find out. There are just too many other superior options to choose from.

Foods ok, been in this establishment a few times for lunch. But what gets me is the fact that the cashiers ( more than 1) always look miserable, not welcoming at all.

Couldn’t believe how Cincy the SUPER quesadilla was. Hardly any meat at all. For the price it was not worth it! And on the combos the serving of bean and rice is ridiculous. Come on people! At least give a good spoonful of each . Won’t go back .

I was last there about two years ago. I ordered a carne asada burrito to take home (about 30 miles outside Temecula). There I discovered my "carne asada" burrito was about 80% rice and beans, little sprinkle of meat and I avoided the place after that. Yesterday, after a hectic day, we stopped there because it was handy on our way home and got two carne asada plates and an order of rolled tacos to take home. It was bad enough that the cost was over $36, but the meat was so salty as to be inedible. We even tried rinsing it off to no avail. Also, the rice tasted rancid. The rolled tacos were okay. My husband called them and a curt woman said bring it back and we'll give you something else, no apology at all, no customer service at all. I guess we should have tasted it before we drove all the way home. If others have had favorable experiences you've been lucky.

The food here is way more expensive than other taco shops and the burritos are small with inferior meat, if you get enough on your burrito to taste it. The tortilla was not cooked ask the way through and was just to soggy. Avoid this place.

The older lady at the register is very very very rude and not friendly at all, I guess you don’t pay her a salary and she’s there working for free because she has a nasty attitude. We used to like this place but have not been since before COVID. We came back only to be throughly disappointed. We ordered Supreme chicken nachos and a carne asada burrito. First off, prices have gone up (like everywhere else) but portions have gone WAY down. The nachos were NOT supreme at all. They were about HALF the amount as before or compared to any other taco shop nachos for that matter. The chips were old and stale and the chicken was flavorless. The carne asada was flavorless as well and again, small in comparison to other taco shops. There was nothing about the meal that we thought was good. We actually threw away the nachos. We obviously will not be returning. There are MANY MANY other taco shops in the area that are WAY better. **Edited to clarify the name “Supreme” to “Super” since in the Owners response he thinks we went to “the bell”.Trust me when I say “the Bell” would have been a major upgrade had we chosen to eat there instead. So, I thank you for pointing that out and reaffirming our decision to never return to your establishment.

Bought a breakfast burrito here. This was the 2nd time i have been here. The first time it was pretty good. I ordered a chorizo breakfast burrito. What they gave me was a bacon breakfast burrito and the bacon was completely raw, it wasn't even cooked at all! I took 2 bites and threw it away once I realized all the serious health dept errors. I will never go back. I ordered from from the El Ranchito taco shop at 33195 temecula pkwy. Especially concerning that the owner denies all responsibility.

Haven't been here in a while, and it will be a very long time before I go back. Ordered a Carne Asada burrito to go and was really looking forward to it. Well, it was more like a rice burrito with small pieces of what I think were the meat that I couldn't even taste not to mention it was $10.33. For a RICE burrito. Never again, even if they gave it to me for free!

I see a lot of good comments, maybe I was unlucky the day I went, I ordered 2 carne asada burritos, and they had more beans than meat,(I love the beans btw) the customer service is bad, as I said maybe it was a bad day for the cook and the one who attended the checkout!

We have been coming to this establishment for some time. The food and service have been good until today, unfortunately. :( After my husband placed a to-go order and came home, we realized that our orders were wrong. We called and explained the situation, and we were told to bring the burritos back and that new ones would be made for us. We brought the food back to the restaurant, but then we were told that our orders weren't wrong at all and that no new food would be made for us. Despite disagreeing with the claim that the orders were fine, we just decided to return the orders and get our money back. However, we were told that the restaurant's policy did not allow refunds. I was then told to give my personal number and that the owner would call me back to discuss the situation. Unfortunately, I never received a call, which is why I've decided to leave an honest and fair review of our family's experience. We will take our business elsewhere, as the customer service and professionalism has been well displayed here at El Ranchito Taco Shop in Old Town Temecula. :( To the owner: please do not bother taking the time to respond by saying how wonderful your staff and food have always been as you have written in response to other comments. Perhaps some classes on "quality" customer service would be a blessing to not only your staff, but to the people that come into your establishment as well. Update: I was told that I would most assuredly receive a call today (I specifically asked when I could expect a call as I wanted to make sure I would be available). Your response is not only untruthful, but far more disappointing that an establishment would go so far as to behave and make false statements rather than to take responsibility for their staff.

I ordered a bacon breakfast burrito and all they put in it was beans and eggs . When I called to them they argued with me saying they put potatoes in it . Horrible if I wanted a bean and cheese burrito I would’ve order one . The breakfast burritos are not as good as they used to be .

Please don’t waste your money eating here I got the California breakfast burrito…trash. The meat is such bad quality. Chewy no flavor and such a poor burrito. I asked for egg white substitute and he said they have no egg whites lol??? But you have eggs??? Weird.

I see a lot of good comments, maybe I was unlucky the day I went, I ordered 2 carne asada burritos, and they had more beans than meat,(I love the beans btw) the customer service is bad, as I said maybe it was a bad day for the cook and the one who attended the checkout!
