The enchiladas were delicious! Their mole rojo was the best mole I’ve had so far on this trip. We loved eating here, what a delightful experience, we bought a beautiful rug that was made by her son.

Mi experiencia en esta cocina fue una aventura, una experiencia de sabores olores y emociones. La comida era increíble un sabor y color como ningún otro. La Forma en la que se elabora la comida era impresionante y un servicio excelente.

Llegamos muy tarde a comer, solo habían 3 opciones pero deliciosas. El mezcal que nos ofrecieron estaba muy suave. La atención fue muy buena.

Venimos de Puebla. Cada vez que estamos en Oaxaca, sin duda alguna vamos a comer aquí. La señora y su hijo son las personas más lindas y atentas del mundo y lo que saca esta señora de su cocina es de otro mundo. Los moles tienen un sazón que no de puede describir. Sales chupándote los dedos y más feliz, garantizado. Su hijo te atiende excelente, con una sonrisa todo el tiempo y te hace sentir muy bienvenido. Siempre seguiremos regresando con muchísimo gusto!

Un lugar con calor de hogar. La señora Isabel cocina delicioso, atiende con amor y paciencia. Comimos enchiladas de mole rojo y de mole negro, deliciosas! El arroz buenísimo, las tortillas deliciosas. Ella elabora todo desde cero. Además vende tapetes y artesanías que hacen ella y su familia. Si están en Teotilan deben vivir la experiencia.

Delicioso!!! Aquí de verdadsedisfruta de la comida del lugar, en una casa auténtica y acogedora. Son platillos locales, y cambian dependiendo a lo que la Señora del lugar se le haya ocurrido ese día. El mole es hecho en casa, con eso les digo todo.

Such an amazing experience the cooking class with Isabel. It was part of a tour booked with Zapotec travel by Lilly which helps and sustains indigenous culture in the area, and it has been literally perfect. Isabel showed us how to make the delicious sauce called Mole using traditional indigenous methods. We took part on the preparation where she was explaining the different ingredients to use and how they need to be prepared and combined together. As final result we ate what we made (free-range chicken with mole, rice and vegetables) accompanied with a fresh guava juice, everything was so delicious! A very local and authentic experience for those who want to get to know more the Zapotec culture and support the indigenous women. Muchas gracias Isabel!

La comida es deliciosa, la atención es muy buena y aunque solo hay una mesa para todos los comensales, tiene que ver con la tradición de que la hora de la comida es para compartir, para los viajeros esta dinámica es excelente para el intercambio de experiencias. Al ser un lugar austero los precios también son muy accesibles.

Buen lugar para comer platillos típicos en tu visita a Teotitlán. Comida sencilla a precios sensatos. Recuerden a la mesera su pedido, a veces trae una cosa por otra.

We stopped here for lunch. En Via tour offers micofinance loans to women entrepeneurs in 6 villages around Oaxaca. This stop was someone who gets microloans to expand her business. The red mole enchiladas were very good. The tour money goes to finance the loans and education programs. I highly recommend supporting this non profit.

La comida está bien hecha y con buen sabor. El Menú es clásico de la región. El lugar es simple y nada especial. Lo malo es el precio, puede ser 2 a 3 veces más caro que cualquier otra fonda. No se si es por que nos vieron de turistas o simplemente cobran caro. Pero no volvería. Más de 500 pesos en dos platos y dos vasos de agua.

Food is not great and was super expensive! They served us what was left of the Guías soup in a small bowl with manufactured tortillas (not the handmade ones) and a coloradito plate with two enchiladas and some rice, a half glass of Jamaica water (they didn’t have any more) and they charged us $200 mxn!!!!!! I tried saying something and the woman just gave me the confused innocent look! If I would have known I would have not eaten there.! We ate on the highway the other day at a better comedor and for more enchiladas and a full bowl of yummy soup and one pitcher of Jamaica was $75 pesos. Now that is normal! Ah, and we had to do the service because the kid there couldn’t get it together and we had to get up and get everything for our table.

La comida esta súper rica pero este lugar práctica oviamente dos typos de precios : hay los precios de cada uno y los precios de turistas. Por eso que ningún precio está escrito en el menú. Ayer comimos allá con mi esposa y dos bebés por 800 MX. Todavía no hemos encontrado un lugar más caro, incluso en la ciudad de Oaxaca !! Si pasas por allá y que buscas sinceridad en tus relaciones, hay que elegir otro lugar. Pero si te gusta ser tomado por un tonto, te recomiendo el comedor Jaguar, porque si se come rico.

Leaving this as a warning to other travellers. I feel bad leaving this review because this seems like a nice family run business, and I want them to succeed, but I got food poisoning after eating here. I had already been in Mexico for 9 days in case that matters, and everything had been fine. I ordered the black mole chicken and my girlfriend had vegetarian quesadillas. She did not get sick. All of our other meals were identical/shared that day and the previous day, so it's very likely the chicken is what did it. The food tasted okay (not worth what it cost, in my opinion, however options are few in this area). But after we had eaten, we were grossed out after we used the bathroom and found there was no running water (couldn't flush, taps dry). Hand-washing had to be done using a bucket of water with a sign over it, so clearly this issue was known to the establishment. No idea if the kitchen had running water, or if the staff had a separate washroom, but I doubt it. It called the hygeine and cleaning capability of the kitchen into question. After I got sick, it was extremely obvious that this kitchen served me the contaminated food. Just be careful if you eat here, you don't want to have your trip ruined. Check if they have running water before you eat. Hopefully the lack of water was a temporary issue, and nobody else gets sick. Sorry to the owners but I felt it was important to let people know my experience.
