This Sour House is part of the Truck Yard experience. It's a good addition! If you're a sour ale snob then these might be too 'starter' for your tastes but they're exceedingly approachable for anyone who wants somethings that might be more akin to a tart cider. The flavors are spot on and the variety is as fun as it gets. Try the Peach and the Cucumber-Lime. Smart, swift and professional service. The place is unusually clean!
If you like sour beers.. this is perfect. Nice big family style tables on the inside and individual tables on the outside. The bartender was great. She gave us suggestions and testers. Their flights are very great on price. The brewery is part of the truck yard. They had a live band and they sale merchandise. Will go again.
Went to watch a Cowboy's football game on a Thursday night. Great cheese steak, good service, and interesting beers.
Love the beer here and the whiskey!! The atmosphere here is cool too plus it’s dog friendly that’s always a plus in my book!
Had fun meeting up with old friends. Everyone enjoyed the beer and appreciated the universal bar tab, so we were free to roam the truck yard, beer in hand, and try out other vendors. Fun stuff, lots to look at, games to play. Dogs were allowed, but bonus- after a certain time, kids were not. Great atmosphere for all ages. Good ambience, people were enjoying themselves and no one seemed too rowdy or out of hand. I spent less than 50 bucks and had 4 drinks. There was plenty of parking and the place seemed packed on a Friday.
Holy cow! If you are a sour fan this is the place to go. Just about every beer they have tasted incredible and the fragrance of each matched the taste. The Lemon cucumber is perfect for dinner with a crisp and refreshing taste. But the whiskey one started out sour then finished with the slight burn of a good whiskey. The staff was also awesome. It's my new favorite brewery hands down
Awesome place! Was visiting the Dallas area and a friend found it. The whole Truck Yard area its in was fun. The bar tender at the sourhouse was very helpful in answering questions and recommendations. Loved every sour I tried, especially the pickle one! Must try if you are in the area.
I thought I would hate this beer because I'm so particular but I'd never had sour before. I didn't realize it's full of probiotics either and this stuff is amazingly good. Hot summer night, there's nothing better. I've learned Sours are only great when off the tap, so I come often. The two gals bartending are freaking awesome. They remember everything and they're scrapy fun broads. Tip well.
If we could give Becky 12 stars we would. She is amazing!! She is so friendly, amazing, down to earth, not to mention her mixology and recommendations are on point!! Everything we tried, we absolutely loved!! When we come back this way, we WILL be back to see Becky at the Bearded Science Sour House!! Thank You for such amazing time. From your North Dakota Friends Nick and Teresa!
If you like sours and are in the Dallas area, this is a place for you. Located in the same areas as truck yard, you have your choice of rotating sours, board games and food. You can also move throughout the complex and bring other drinks back to your seat.
A good diversity of beer! I've seen these guys brew all kinds of stuff - from sour beers, to IPAs, to weird craft stuff like using espresso bean in the beer. This place is part of a larger complex called Truck Yard, so even if you're not a beer person, there are lots of fun drinks for you!
Great brewery that specializes in sour beers, with a great variety. Excellent flavors and wonderful staff. Great place to watch sports and you can bring yr own food in, as well. Highly recommended.
You don’t go to Truckyard for the best of the best craft beer. But I was pleasantly surprised by this implanted brewery. The sours weren’t all that sour, which works fine for me. Almost like a hybrid seltzer sour. Very crushable. The lemon cucumber was legit delicious. And I HATE cucumber. Plus the truckyard is just awesome. I wish there was more true indoor space. Hopefully as summer goes they’ll close stuff to keep it cooler indoors. Staff was friendly and helpful. Great experience and will for sure go back.
If you love sour beers, you need to check this brewery out! I finally caught them when they weren't closed for a private event. They have a wide range of flavors to choose from. Some that you wouldn't expect to be sours, like Cinnabyn and Pumpkin Spice, but they somehow work. The lady behind the bar was great, too. If you don't like sours, they have a decent selection of whiskey to choose from as well.
This is a sour brewery located inside the Truck Yard. We had a fantastic time here getting flights of all the beers and enjoying the live band. Our bartender was amazing. She was really knowledgeable, let us try some samples, and took care of us all night. The beers here are really accessible - most of them are not super sour, but they all had great flavers.
Good beer selection with great atmosphere. This is Truck Yards on-site brewery! Live music, drinks, food trucks, and multiple beer gardens. Very fun place to hang out. Indoor tables and outdoor patio style garage door seating with a great view of the Truck Yards live music stage. Lots of room for large groups.
It's almost like someone bet the brewmaster they couldn't build a brewery around a single style and he wanted to prove them wrong. Berliner Weisse was a solid choice with a large array of built-in customization, and yet they've pushed it farther. The pickle beer eclipses the local competition, and the other citrus fruit variants are well balanced. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Great place to enjoy some summer session sours.
My husband and I came out to The Truckyard, and we were so pleased to find this gem! This is a fun, inviting brewery that even welcomes your pups inside! They offer lots of unique, refreshing beers. And the service is amazing and so friendly! Highly recommended!
I pretty much have to drag my IPA loving father anywhere that is known for sours, so when HE suggested this place I was all in. We tried four and all were enjoyed by both me- a sour fanatic- and him-a sour skeptic. Our favorite was definitely the lemon cucumber, which tasted exactly like a lemon head.
I don't even like beer and this place had me taking home a growler of the pickle sour. Definitely a must see. Try a flight.. I tried 2. Lol. Amazing staff that go above and beyond to help you find thr beet that's perfect for you. Cool merch too.
The drinks were excellent. We ordered the hefeweizen and a margarita. Didnt get food on this trip but maybe next time, we will definitely be back!
Love the sour beers and they have all the choices you want! It's right next to Truckyard so plenty of food options. Very friendly staff!
Nice slice of Texas. An experience. Live music even on weeknights. Unique beers. The cucumber lemon was good. The mango with a spiced brim was worth it.Its definitely worth a visit.

I don't particularly enjoy sour beers but this place had some really good brews! The pickle juice sour was outstanding! Not too salty with a dill garnish! I went early afternoon and there were no crowds and plenty of parking.
Interesting approach to sours, using the same sour base and then adding a wide variety of flavors during the second fermentation stage. Beer quality was good and you are bound to discover a sour that suits your tastes.
Great spot, incredible atmosphere, but only thing I'd change is the sour base is the same for all the beers, so they're all around the same sour level. Other than that, cool spot!
I've never been to a truck yard, because I don't really drink. Came here for a memorial, and I think the atmosphere alone made for a nice change of scenery. I didn't try the food nor the drinks, so I couldn't rate that nor rate the service. But the location is really interesting.
Beard Science Sour House - Strange mashup of country music, boots, and belt buckles mixed with a modern, science themed, almost steampunk decor. Open air brewery & taproom on a deck with a view overlooking the Truck Yard and surrounded by trees. Nice selection of session sours. All of the beers are 3.5% ABV and have unique flavors. I ordered a flight with Woodruff, Berliner Weiss 2.0, Elderberry, and Ginger Beer. I’m not a huge sour fan but I thought they were all pretty good!
Atmosphere is great. Chill. Ambient human energy and odd blend of newness built from scrap history. The sours are very average, mostly due to the process. The base weisse is not sour enough and the fruit flavors are generic - like the fruit flavors you find in candy. Because of this, the effect comes off as gimmicky and not very memorable. The black currant is probably the best option. Hopefully they will eventually start using purees and real fruit flavors in the production of these ales. Despite that, the mood makes it well worth a visit.
If you like sours this is the place to be. But nothing on draft is not sour. They do have regular beers on cans and bottles! The place is nice and has great areas for games and sitting out catching the view
The beers were sure very different from what I have had before - in a good way though! The sour after taste was good! We sat there for a while listening to some live music and doing nothing! Sour beer kept us company all this while. We also walked around aimlessly to other parts of the location. It was a Friday so it was crowded a bit. But it was a good atmosphere to be! For sure a weekend place to enjoy 😍🍻
Good start for this sour brewery. They feature a selection of in house and mainstream sours. I'd recommend their double sour. Nice tap room with a large screen for the bigger sporting events. Part of the truck yard for those friends not feeling their particular style. Look for bottled beer to go and growler service in the future.

Ample seating, friendly staff, multiple TV around the main hall corners plus one giant screen for sporting events. We were let down by the sour beers though, they tasted very artificial: lemon-cucumber tasted like Lemonheads, blood orange tasted like Fanta, caramel apple tasted like jolly rancher, and elderberry tasted like floral Febreze. Their pickle and berliner weiss sours were the passable ones. It seemed like other people were enjoying them, but their sour style is maybe not for us. We'll come back for the vibes but get drinks from the other bars, Truck Yard and Limin' Lounge.
Very interesting and popular place. Parking is almost full. Open air, live music from the courtyard was nice. We visited on Friday after 10pm and there was a lot of free space. You can get table games if you like. First we took a testing set. Sour beers were nice. Quite an experience to have a pickle beer or cucumber-lime ;). But ruby ale I definitely don’t like. Tables were not maintained well (wet or dirty).
I was hoping for a crafted beer as I want aware of what is sour house. I am sure some people love it but not for me. Tried couple of drinks and both are not to my taste. Good ambience and nice staff.
I’m sad. This was my favorite brewery. They have completely altered what they have in tap. What used to have 16 different sours, being a “sour house” only now has 5 and have tapped cocktails and whiskey instead. More of them, than sours. It’s called beard science sour house… I’m confused. 😕

Drove from Dallas to the Colony to try the sours. They have 1, a berlinerweisse. The other 5 on tap were the same beer with flavors added. The lambic and smoked sour in barrels is not being served. The flemish red is in bottles, but you can't drink it at the brewery, you have to take it home. The place is in a nice location, but no reason to come back. Plenty of berlinerweisse and real sours closer to home. A "sour house* in name only.
They scold you into more money as you tab out because it cost 13000 per.month to have live music. Sternly say it woul.be real.nice if customers would pay for it. Shitty food. Drink tasted like pickle juice. Food trucks are....food trucks no habla english.
