This is a diner style food. You had better come hungry. The portions are huge! The food is fantastic. The service was very good but if you want a small plate don't go there but if you are hungry one of the best breakfast places in Lancaster.

Otto's has the best onion rings I've ever had. Their steaks are tender, their omlets are huge. Waitresses are fun and the beer is cheap. Nuff said

Huge portions (the reputation is valid) and the Grilled Chicken Bread Salad and Hickory Mushroom Burger my wife and I shared were awesome. We had a couple of great drinks. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The kids' Mac n Cheese was ordinary and the Fries were crispy but not seasoned.

We arrived with a very large group. Staff seemed a little overwhelmed but handled things well. Food was delicious! The only mishap was my son ordered his burger plain and it came with everything on it. Considering how big our group was I can see some things getting missed. He still liked his burger after we took all the stuff off he doesn't like. Everyone was happy with what they ate and most of us had leftovers because the portions were large. Definitely worth stopping by.

Second time eating here. The food portions are huge and delicious. Depending on the time of day, some servers are more attentive. If you're ever in the area, this is the place to eat.

Great food, great portions, and very attentive waitress. Got the crazy Otto's full sized omelet with biscuit and gravy. Omelette was good, but the hash browns were amazing. Crunchy on the outside, and soft on the inside. The biscuits were very soft and buttery, and the gravy was good as well. Highly recommended!

First time ive ever heard of this place and if i knew then what i know now i would've ordered the breakfast omelet. Cause not only was it the biggest ive ever seen but it looked sooo good. I got the steak it was also good. And the waitress was awesome she made sure you had what you needed to make your visit a good one

This diner served me the best omelet I ever had. It was bacon and cheese. The bacon crumbles were almost an inch deep and spread the length of the eggs. Our waitress was super friendly and attentive. The walls have "Best of" plaques dating back for years. My wife's Denver omelet was excellent as well. Don't miss a chance to eat here. You won't be disappointed.

Superb!!! Took my Granddaughters for New Years Eve steak dinner. They're only 7 years old. It was great. God bless you.

The food and service were both excellent! I got the bacon and cheese omelet with added avocado. It came with hash browns AND biscuits and gravy. I also tried the pancakes, which were phenomenal. I couldn't believe that I was able to finish it all. Finishing a full order of and omelet and sides wins you a spot on the wall.

I've always loved this place growing up. I used to go here with my dad. All the time on daddy, daughter dates and I would always get the same thing and it would always be amazing. I love their shakes because it doesn't taste like metal and it's the best thing in my life. Great place in Lancaster for a huge omelette. Prices may seem high ($14 for a full omelette), but most people will eat it for 2 meals. The building does seem crowded, but it is a true Lancaster landmark.

Love Crazy Otto's, my family has been coming to this restaurant since the 80's. Not at this location but in this valley. The portions are ridiculous so be prepared to take home leftovers. The full omelette is only $1 more than the half and I can't even eat half of a half. The biscuits and gravy are the best I have had at a restaurant. The service is always great and the servers are always kind helpful and attentive without being annoying. Their lunch is also great. I have never ordered anything I didn't like from burgers to pancakes. I highly recommend this place and make sure you bring your appetite. The only downside is they don't have any iced coffee sweet coffee drinks.

I'm really going to miss this place. Lived in the AV my whole life and am on my way to Florida soon. Even if you're just passing by, is new to the area, or haven't been here in a long time; please come here for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. This place is an institution to the Antelope Valley, it's basically a piece of regional history that you can eat a meal at. Portion sizes are HUGE, you'll never leave hungry and you're better off limiting yourself to half the meal and saving the other half to eat later. Although I would recommend dining on the weekdays for breakfast, I'll admit it's not always the best service when they're serving a full house, but I can always let that slide from here. The food is all excellently priced and theres ALOT of it too on your plate and variety on the menu. They treat you with respect, i took my dad there a USCG veteran and he loved the decorations so much. One of the big differences between this and say a Dennys is the staff are always pleasant, the food is always cooked how you like it, waiters dont ignore you nor do they mess up orders & most importantly they all come across like they want to be there. This is my 3rd time here and in general if youre trying to get a great deal and environment this is the spot!!

Went to a special event with a fixed menu and unfortunately there wasn't anything for me to eat as I have dietary issues. I'm used to not being able to eat at certain places so I wasn't upset at all. However, the owner saw I wasn't eating and went out of his way to find something I could eat and had it made for me. I can't thank you enough! You're kindness was unexpected but definitely appreciated!

Just went for dinner.. wow. Didn't think I could get more impressed! My husband and I have been coming here for years and my father, since it opened! The prices have gone up BuT the portions have gotten bigger!!!! I didn't think that could happen! They now almost spill over the Huge plates!! Walked in and were seated immediately by Clarissa, no haste in offering us and serving drinks exactly as ordered! While assisting other guests, she constantly was asking us if we'd like refills, extra napkins or how the food was. AND she was very helpful, also not innterruptive!! Love this place. Got the Chicken fried steak Said in the description that it was gigantic homemade chicken fried steak. I got it and was like "it looks kinda small" Looks are deceiving. When I was done with my Chicken fried steak I was STUFFED. Only finished a third of my hashbrowns and hadn't touched my biscuit and gravity and half my eggs. Everything was delicious.

Had Crazy Ottos on 20th st W decided to try this location. We were seated quickly as we entered and saw the cutest booth inside the cutest old vintage car. A couple were already seated but right when they finished the restaurant so graciously let us sit there. Great experience! Made my day. When the comments state "large portions" they are not kidding. Its a lot of food enough for 2 people. But just keep in mind if you share you pay a $1.50 extra charge. And if you pay with a credit card you pay an extra 4%. We ordered an omelet with hamburger meat and avocado, home fries, biscuits and gravy. Fresh squeezed orange juice is the best. Will definitely return for lunch. They had some tasty options.

Super friendly staff. Food portions were LARGE. They weren’t kidding about “if you leave hungry, it’s your fault” slogan. Tasted really good too. I ordered avocado omelette, I think they put an entire pig in there for me as bacons. 🤣. They weren’t stingy about feeding you at all. They also gave me so much avocado. I would absolutely go back again. We had a table of 5. Everyone’s food came out super good. I highly recommend.

I grew up eating crazy Otto’s and even with living in Vegas I make it a point to come and eat here ANYTIME I’m in Southern California. This is my favorite breakfast place ever. Such an antelope valley staple.

This is atotal throwback to how diners are supposed to be. Great food. Great service and awesome old school atmosphere. You're in the middle of comfort food and comfort atmosphere. It creates the feeling of total relaxation and comfort food. All of the omelets are great. The chicken fried steak and eggs breakfast is my favorite. The biscuits and gravy are the bomb. I haven't had a below standard meal here or any of the locations. You can't go wrong eating at Crazy Otto's

The other Crazy Otto's closes at 2:00 p.m. so we decided to have lunch here at the diner. Breakfast menu look much the same as the other location. And, the food was just as good with large portions. The steak was surprisingly good for a diner. Our waitress was 100 awesome, friendly, helpful and efficient.

A diner restaurant that borderlines on a fine dining experience! Have stopped in a few times to get an idea of the the food here and have never been disappointed. Today I had the prime rib special which was simply amazing very flavourful and yeah it's playful and very generous portions. The wait staff was attentive without being overbearing and make sure everything was to my liking. I sat at the counter so that I could actually hear and see some of what was going on in the kitchen and it was very active professional and efficient. It's also very clean which is important to me. 4 out of 5 stars for sure with a possibility of an upgrade very soon after my next visit. Keep up the good work Crazy Ottos!

It was a great day trip with good friends and food. We read about the story on the menu as we awaited our friends. Fun times, local history and a great value. The chicken liver and bacon omlette came with hash browns and also bisquetts and gravy. For $15.00 it fed me 2-3 meals!

The food was very tasty! I was amazed at the size of their pancake! I had a delicious grilled chicken salad, and others had their Tuesday Pork chop special. It is very true that if you leave there hungry it's your own fault lol. This was our first time there so I'm not sure if it is a normal thing or not; however, they did take a long time to take our order as well as for us to be able to pay. I did hear the server say to my husband that they were short staffed, and was having a hard time finding someone to come in. Then to add in computer issues it took a long time to be able to pay and leave. Over all though food was delicious, and staff was nice; therefore, I'd try them again next time we're in town.

A local legend. The food really is always excellent and the service outstanding. Very rarely have we ever had an issue. For those who either haven't been or have only seen a menu and prices and feel it's expensive - you've got to understand, these portions are HUGE! Now, with that said, more and more all the time I feel "nickel and dimed" when visiting. Like I said, portions certainly big enough for two but if you want to share (not even split-no extra plate required) there's a charge for that. Wait staff are programmed to ask if you want gravy on that or cheese. Sure. That sounds great. Be careful! If it is not expressly listed on the menu... there's a charge for that. Even so, hard to beat their breakfast.

Popular spot in the AV...had to try it..Service is always great even when I pick up deliveries...waitresses are always courteous...gotta say the portions are sizey...you will get full...flavor could of been better though...tad pricey for me...but overall was worth the trip..

Food came out cold, spent $30 on an small portion of food + coffee. We got the Belgian waffle to share and it wasn't even worth it. Will probably not be coming back here after the absolute rip off the meal was. On the flip side service was great. The atmosphere is very nostalgic to me considering I used to go here as a kid, but even the kids meals were larger than what we ordered.

Restaurant adds gratuity for groups and a surcharge for eggs. Given the price of eggs, this is understandable but they don't disclose this when you place your order. Hash browns undercooked but bacon eggs, toast and coffee were fine.

I have to lower my rating for Crazy Otto's they are changing us to use a debit card. I feel I pay enough for my breakfast, and they're the only restaurant in my area to do this. I don't carry cash, and I pick up the bill for my family of 6, and it adds up. It's the principal.

It was a good breakfast, and when they serve hash browns, they serve hash browns! I mean there was enough to feed about four people. One word of caution. I was seated with a direct view to the kitchen and could observe the two cooks the whole time I was in the restaurant. They apparently think masks are just neck ware, as they not once had them covering their mouth or nose. The waitresses wore masks when at the table, but I could see that while back in less public areas they did not. About a quarter of the people coming in and being seated did not seem to think masks were a wise idea. That said, the wait staff was friendly and efficient. Prices were quite reasonable.

Classic diner with old school vibe. Food is decent, but the portion is huge. Service could be better. Plenty of parking in the lot outside. Military discount only applies to the actual service member or vet, not the whole party.

Honestly I was disappointed in my food experience, the waitress was great but the food on the other hand..... all i can say is next time I will stick to their breakfast, I've never gone wrong there before. I had the lasagna which lacked Ricotta cheese it was pretty thin and not as big as I expected for a crazy otto portion. My husband had the meat loaf and by our surprise it came with gravy on it instead of what we are used to which is more of a tomato based sauce. On another note the side salad was good. I will return again for breakfast that is 😉

Subpar food. Larger plates so shareable however they charge you an extra dollar for sharing?!? Seriously who does that? On top of that was a surcharge for using a credit card and gratuity of 18% is also automatically added to your bill seemingly regardless of party size. We will not return to a place where customer is forced to tip the servers. Perhaps pay your servers better. I used to be a server but tips are earned. Our servers did fine on the other hand. But this establishment is very wrong for their policies.

WTH happened to this place? Has it always been this bland or is this a new development? DO NOT get their corned beef. I got some mushy mess that was partially cold and flavorless. My home fries had SO MUCH bell pepper it was all you could taste. For some odd reason I also got my biscuits waaaaay before the other plate. They also sat me in a corner waaaaaaay in the back, by myself, and basically forgot about me lol. Oh how the mighty have fallen. Who cares how big the portions are if it all tastes like crap. You have been warned. I used to love their country fried steak, too. It's been crap recently. Sucks. This used to be THE spot.

On Saturday April 19 2025 at about 10AM. I sat at the counter instead of a table. Coffee was brought to me. I waited for about 15 minutes with no service. A couple sat at the counter and about 5 minutes their order was brought to them. I waited another 10 minutes with no service. I left the counter and went to the front counter to ask for a manager, but there were too many on line waiting to pay. The Crazy Otto on Ave I has always been my "GO TO" breakfast place, but not anymore!

I come here many times over the years and have loved it but i have to say today and a couple other times recently are some of the worst experience. The waitress was on point but the kitchen seems to be having a very off day they are in the back cussing in Spanish and chattering more than they care about the food. I ordered the country fried steak and eggs and it came out a burnt piece of hamburger patty. I sent it back and they brought it back not burnt this time but not fried or battered at all.just another soggy piece of ground beef. Not good at all i payed my bill and took it togo for my dogs. I hope the next time i come it will be back to the normal consistency it usually is. Sad i used to love coming here just for that meal.

Do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! Where to start. I ordered a “full” omelette with well done hash browns, a side of hash browns well done and an order of fried zucchini. When I heard the order was just over $40 it threw me off but did not think anything of it. I said ok the side order and zucchini is gonna be a huge portion. I get there to pick it up, and I head home without checking. I get home open the 1/3 boxes the zucchini order was a complete joke. I counted 11 pieces of zucchini’s like a literal joke. I’m already pissed off. Then I see the hash brown side. Completely raw!!! Another absolute joke. I get back in the car and I head back in. Tell the host the damn situation. And I tell here if this is a joke or what’s going on.! She said oh this is the serving size. I said no way I’m paying $15 for this stingy order of zucchini’s! I need a refund. She had to go ask the owner for a refund because they don’t provide refunds. Like what kind of customer service is this. The owner is joke him self for allowing this type of BS nonsense. Not good for business old man. Don’t go here stay away! I will not be going there again. Not only that but they threw the same hash brown back on the grill and didn’t provide a fresh new omelette with well done hash brown. Even thoe it was cold already from driving back and forth. I don’t live here in Lancaster but I’m thankful that where I live in mission hills we have a holiday burger. Huge order of fried zucchini’s is $6.99 and I mean it’s huge!. $15 for this crap is a joke.! Good luck. Won’t be back for sure! Oh and I totally forgot to take pictures!

Crazy Otto's Lancaster: The food is good. but I will not be going back there ever again! I saw a waitress touching biscuits with her hands and not using tongs. This is not sanitary. Another waitress had very long finger nails touching the inside of my coffee cup. This is a health violation. Then the lady with the dark hair & tattoos at the register seemed to want to rip my head off when I asked for a veteran discount and found an excuse not to give me one even though this place supposedly honors veterans and police. My friend even noticed her attitude. This disturbed employee should never be dealing with people. She should work as a truck driver where she is mostly alone.

Crazy Otto’s is a long established Lancaster haunt. I don’t prefer this location because this part of town is rather unsavory. However, the neighborhood is only matched by the unsavory offerings inside. My first breakfast I ordered the waffles. In the 1990s having strawberries and whipped cream was the actual dish- now you have to add $5 more. That takes this dish well over $20z The only breakfast item reasonably processed is the Two egg any style for just at $15. Both my girls ordered from the kids menu, plus 3 drinks- $75 with gratuity included since we were a table of 4 adults and 4 kids . I went again last week. This time I ordered a Denver omelette with added cheese. The food is bland. There is no signature item- homemade jam, hash browns, pancakes- something so unique you can only get it there. Crazy Otto’s is famous for big portions. That’s it. The food lacks flavor or flair. I look over the menu thinking- I make better eggs and pancakes at home. Do they watch any professional cooks? Add vanilla, cinnamon to spice up pancakes. Throw in ricotta to scrambled eggs. Develop a signature seasoning for the hash browns. I love breakfast places. Every stand out place has a secret ingredient or flavor on the menu. For $20 a plate - I expect the food to be so delicious you want to lick the plate. The coffee is meant for the battled hardened - black, bold with a bitter finish. The grounds are not from any coffee producer that knows how to produce a balanced, smooth coffee. The interior just needs a strong deep cleaning & refresh. There is an air of dingy, run down neglected decor. It’s an old building that shows her age against the haphazard way the space is utilized. Yes have eaten lunch and even dinner during COVID. If you want a sandwich- there are 2 very delicious spots I’d recommend in Lancaster. Need a hamburger- there is another local spot I’d recommend- all worth every delicious dollar. Price needs to be proportional to flavor . In this case there is not a single breakfast offering that is worth the price. I don’t need large portions- I need food that leaves a lingering, blissful memory that beckons me to return no matter the cost. Update: We had a party over 6. That means an automatic 18% gratuity is added. They split our bills three ways and ADDED $40 TO EACH OF OUR BILLS!! They didn’t give me an itemized bill. When called I was told to just dispute it with my bank 😡 They turned $40 tip to $120

Very disappointed….Walked in this morning 1/26 and was asked how many. We only had 2 people. The girl who was working the front told us she would clean the table and seat us. She told us to stand outside and wait. We went outside and As other people were coming in after us to be seated as well. The girl who told us to wait calls the people who came after us to be seated and gave the table that she had to clean for us. I went in there to let her know that we were before them and you seated them at the table you said you were giving us and she looked confused and act like she didn’t know what I was talking about. Just left and probably won’t returned.

I was really craving an omelete so I ordered the bacon, avocado cheese omelet through Doordash. It arrived with an insane amount of bacon and mashed avocado, hardly any egg and I couldn't find the cheese. Really disappointing!

A restaurant that serves steak should know the difference between medium rare and medium well. Ordered the prime rib breakfast medium rare and got medium well. Not a speck of pink entire thing was dishwater gray in fact. Their cook tried to claim that it was medium rare, no way, it looked like a dirty dishrag.

NEVER coming back would not recommend smells like cigarettes it's disgusting. food was outrages and expensive 15 dollars for an egg and ham sandwich!!The bread was hard as a rock, you've gotta be kidding. it was so salty too and let me tell you I don't complain about things being hard & salty ever. waitress wants you out of there will bring your bill before your done eating how rude can you be!

After many years of supporting this place, I can no longer recommend anyone eat here. The food I picked up today wasn't fit for human consumption. The broccoli had mold on the stalks. These are steamed vegetables not char pan or grilled. All 3 salads were brownish slimey old lettuce. Using expired produce? Glad we requested dressing on the side so we could see it. The mashed potatoes were dry, bland & seemed old.. not from today (possibly not even yesterday's). The fried chicken was terribly dry & salty. Besides that it didn't taste fresh & the cooking oil needs to be changed out too. I don't like wasting food but it went in the trash. 1 of the 3 meals was a replacement for issues related to a previous order but I paid for 2. The manager was kind enough to extend a replacement meal last time but unfortunately the food quality's subpar now. Tried to give it another shot but couldn't stomach the food. It was our favorite plate on the menu before. This place is on its last leg? Its unfortunate. Good luck.

Worst breakfast experience I’ve had. The service was horrible our server was at our table for maybe 2 whole minutes the entire time we were there. Served us COLD EVERYTHING, the gravy was cold the biscuits were cold the house potatoes were hard like apples. They served a country fried steak that was cold and looked more like a Salisbury steak that was grey with no flavor and a big lump of cold gravy on a dirty plate that you could clearly see had a chorizo and hash brown on but switched it to cold house potato’s and that steak yet charging $25 for the plate!? For the prices this place has I would NEVER advise anyone come here for breakfast ever! This establishment is for people who they know, if you’re new in town they will rob you for your money! Never come here!!

Food was not good, price was way too much for frozen dino nuggets for my kids, and the chips are stale. Coffee was cold. And im a veteran i thought id have a great meal with my kids. Nope not paying $80 for what seemed like frozen food from costco or whatever.

This place has really gone downhill. They’re now charging an extra $2 just to add onions and peppers to your home fries you know, the same ingredients that are part of the original recipe for home fries? It’s ridiculous. On top of that, the staff brings you your check while you’re still eating or in the middle of a conversation, which completely kills the dining experience. It feels rushed and unwelcoming, like they can’t wait to get you out the door. Definitely not the same place it used to be.
