Great food and surprisingly bigger than I thought with more tables.
I was in the areas for work and came across El Burrito Jr. So I decided to check it out and had their carne asada torta....let me TELL YOU.. it was DELICIOUS!! I took it to go but the place had a pleasant atmosphere and vibe. Clean and nicely decorated. The hostess was very kind and friendly. I wasn't expecting salsa con tosada and I was excited when I did. The salsa was soooo good. I don't live in the area but if I ever come back I would definitely come back to eat here. Thank you for making my first experience a pleasant one.
Thank you, Norma 💛 I walked in with just $10 and felt so indecisive. I told her I had myself and my partner and only $10, and she said, “I got you.” She gave us two soft tacos plus chips with guacamole and salsa — for both of us! Wow. We were so grateful. We ate it right there in your parking lot 😂 Such a great dinner and a great night. Thank you so much
I ❤️ this place! I just moved to the south bay and found this DELICIOUS little hole-in-the-wall. Then I learned about Taco Tuesday---omg the amazing tacos I love for less?! YES PLEASE!
Great experience- the service was friendly and although we had to wait a little bit which was painful with kids with hanger issues, there was more than enough food in the kids meals to quiet them into submission once served. It was a very relaxed casual meal but that's the only reason I took off one star because we of the wait and while the servers were attentive, what we had hoped to be a quick lunch ended up taking 30 minutes more than we had hoped. The seafood tostada had a little too much jalapeno for my taste but I'm overly sensitive to spice. The fajita plate was so huge it lasted 3 rounds of leftovers. The kids gave thumbs up to their meals after their initial food tantrums. The ambience was fun: felt very much like the little places I've been to in Puerto Vallarta and Ensenada- with music in the background and lively colours everywhere.
Delicious food and super friendly staffs. We had their Chicken Burritos, Chicken Sope, Chicken Soft and Hard tacos, and Horchata for a drink. Each food items were super tasty. Plenty of parking. My server was very helpful. Even though the place was super busy, she frequently stopped by my table and asked how I was doing. Overall good experience.
I ordered the shrimp and garlic plate and was very happy. It came with lots of fresh ingredients and a good handful of shrimp. I put quite a bit of their house salsa on it and it was great. I took about half of it home and used it to make huevos rancheros for breakfast this morning. So, for about $20 I had 2 delicious meals, sounds like a great deal.
Very nice restaurant with good service and good reasonably priced food. I ordered a carne asada wet burrito, which was about 12 bucks and it came with sour cream and guacamole no extra charge. The meal is definitely big enough for two people. Can't wait to go back and try some other items!
My Hard Shell Taco was soft kinda soggy. Shredded Beef was tender but lacked flavor. Salsa and tostadaChips were good. My son had chorizo burrito/egg/bean burrito which was tasty.
A little pricey but food was ok. Not bad, one of the waitresses seems a bit rude. Maybe because they prefer Caucasians there. Funny because the waitresses are Hispanic. Lol 🤦♂️
I've never really had a problem with service and the food is always good. I asked for some extra salsa because I ordered six tacos and a burrito and I got four of those little tiny cups to go with the chips. Not even enough for one salsa per taco and the lady give me an attitude for asking for more. That was a bummer.
Mexican restaurant in the South Bay area. They have a couple more locations, all in Torrance. This review is about the restaurant on Torrance Blvd., near the intersection with Crenshaw Blvd. Years ago (pre-pandemic), this was one of my favorite places in Torrance. The food was great, and the portions were very generous. Sadly, things have changed, and unfortunately, it's happening to so many restaurants. For start, the chips were cold. I remember how nice it was when they were warm. You get humongous-size circular chips with salsa. From what I remember, they were once freshly-made. I had a California burrito with Asada. Not bad, but not nearly as good as I remember it. Smaller size, higher price, and the meat isn't the same quality as it used to be. My wife had the salmon plate. First of all, it didn't even look like salmon. She inquired with the waitress and was told it was indeed salmon. But it didn't look like salmon (look at the photo, you judge...) and, more importantly, it didn't taste like salmon. So yeah, I'm definitely disappointed. Is it a bad restaurant? No, it's still decent, but -clearly- used to be way better. And the low prices made it a great value. Now they're in line with other restaurant of this level.
I decided to try this place for the 1st time since I was hungry and Giuliano's was closed. This is the one in Torrance and never will I ever eat at this location again. The staff was incredibly nice and service was good but the food was not that great. Maybe they were having an off day but my roommate and I ordered two carne asada wet burritos and 4 tacos. The tacos were unbelievably expensive. $3.75 for one taco that was really bland and dry, even when I added salsa. The burrito was better but not by much. It was a total of $41.62 and it was not worth it to me. I don't mind spending that much if the food was good but when I eat something that should be bursting with flavor but taste like they didn't even seasoned the meat, I'm disappointed that I spent money on this. When I saw that it was $15 for 4 tacos I almost got my money back just for that reason but I decided to give it a chance and yet was still disappointed. I was better off going to King Taco and getting more food and better tasting food for half of what I spent here. Again, just my opinion and experience.
Consistently disappointed by the customer service of this location. I called them at 7:08pm tonight to place a phone order and the man answering said they close in 10 minutes due to the holiday. I asked him to clarify that he meant that they’re closing at 7:20? When their hours clearly say 9pm… and I understand if you’re closing early, but 7:20? He said “The only reason I answered is because I didn’t want you to keep calling and calling” (Mind you I only called once.) Half the time the team doesn’t answer the phone. Management needs to get this together.
As someone who has been here before throughout the years, I can only say that the food was rather disappointing. Being of Mexican descent, I felt the food missed soul, flavors were rather blend. We tried the al pastor & shredded beef, both missing flavor. In addition, the hard shell tacos were drenched in tomato sauce, making them mushy. I genuinely hope this was a one-time experience, as they used to serve amazing food!
The worst burrito I've had in my life. The tortilla was so greasy I couldn't even eat it. And a $15 veggie burrito? Usually they are significantly cheaper than meat ones.
Absolutely a ripoff !No meat in large burritos all beans and lettuce -waitress not friendly .Used to be good - forget it better places elsewhere.
Food was very bland, Everythimg we asked of the waitress seemed like too much judging by her expression, i asked if i could have a hotter salsa for my burrito she brings me a bowl and chrages for it when realistic i needes a teaspoon of it.
The shrimp tostada was absolute trash. DO NOT order the seafood here—it’s so bad! No flavor at all. It was just plain boiled shrimp with pico de gallo. Almost $20 for that? No salt, no salsa, nothing! Honestly, the cooks in the back had to know that’s not even close to a proper tostada de camarón. To be fair, most of their other food is pretty good, but the seafood should just be taken off the menu.
They were supposed to give my daughter a bean and cheese burrito with no cheese. We got the order and the manager said I must be confused. He said “There’s no cheese” after explaining she’s deathly allergic to cheese and dairy. It’s labeled no cheese however there is clearly cheese. I’m not that stupid but they may be. They could’ve easily offered a bean burrito with no cheese, but that wasn’t even an option. The chef said it had no cheese so I guess I must have been lying. I’ve gone here since I was a child. I’ll never go there again.
