The Miso Ramen, is life-changing. I'm pretty sure I saw buddah himself because it tasted so great.

This has been our corner neighborhood ramen joint for a while. Reliable, good, friendly but not exciting. Until this time, when we came by accident because Curryfornia was once again closed by 7 pm. There's still a couple tables outside which is greatly appreciated. Our server Mika who we hadn't seen before has brought the level of service and energy up a couple notches. I asked for the difference between two similar looking noodles on the menu and got the hot tip to add butter to the mazesoba. Holy cow, so much wasted time looking for good garlic noodles in the area when this was the best tasting one we've had. This place just jumped up several levels in places we can walk to and eat outside. The combo deals are now available at night and made a great appetizer/bit of vegetables and greens for your meal. Late night happy hour with drink deals.

Good clean ramen, not trying to do too many things but just do some damn good ramen. Customers were predominately Japanese, I think the waitress was from Osaka. Shockingly fast service. Simple menu, clean taste, surprisingly filling. Midway I thought I would have to order a little more but was fully satisfied at the end. Karage was pretty juicy and good as well.

Our first time coming here, its been on my to do list for a while. We walk in and the decor is so cute inside. They're offering dine in outside and take out. We take a minute to look over the menu. I'm intrigued by the super garlic ramen so I order that. He ordered the spicy ramen. We wanted to try the sliced duck but they didn't have it available so we got the karaage chicken. We ordered at 7:00 pm, got the karaage chicken at 7:04 pm and got our ramen soups by 7:09 pm. The service is swift up in here. They treated us like kings. So about the food! The chicken was crispy and the flavoring was subtle but delicious. The chicken was fresh and the pieces were decent. My ramen....They weren't kidding about the garlic flavor, it was garlicky. Garlic lovers unite and try this dish. It came with seaweed, radish, Chashu and bamboo shoots. I added an egg, bean sprouts and corn. The Chashu had a good bite to it, a little fatty but that's all good. The EGG was the star of the show. Flavorful and soft yolk. The spicy ramen had a nice kick to it. I tried some of his broth. Would love to come try the vegan ramen! Looks good.

This is a great locals spot. It is a pretty traditional ramen joint but they do have AC which is unusual and appreciated. They have multiple broths and that is always nice. I went with the Josui Ramen and added an egg. The broth was very good and what I expect of a pork type broth. The egg was perfectly jammy in the middle one would hope for with a ramen egg. Great location, not too far off the freeway. Easy parking in the evenings and on weekends. Solid ramen and good options. Definitely will return.

Came here on a Sunday evening. We ordered the Josui ramen with garlic oil. We also had a side of the 6pc chicken wings. My son had a bowl of rice. We thoroughly enjoyed the ramen and chicken wings. Will definitely come back. I thought the broth was salty, but when combined with the noodles and the meat it was seasoned perfectly. Delicious and I highly recommend.

Called super last minute for a table of 8 They were super accommodating and able to get us a table Colleagues enjoyed the broth which i believe is a mixture of pork and fish. The broth feels SUPER flavorful and not too heavy like your standard tonkatsu broth Noodles were enjoyable and had a nice texture I come here with my colleagues all the time and thank god for my Japanese coworkers to introduce me to this mom and pops feel of a restaurent. Love coming here

This is my favorite ramen outside of Japan. I've been to Japan a few times and Ramen Josui is very competitive with Michelin ramen in Tokyo and Osaka. The excellent shio broth is light, but has so much depth with its stock made from chicken, pork, and bonito. Not only is it extremely delicious and high quality, but the prices are surprisingly low (closer to $10 than $15), which is mind blowing. This is some of the best bang for your buck food in LA. The vibes are immaculate, too! If I close my eyes, I can almost convince myself I'm in a ramen shop in Japan. Ramen Josui is that amazing and should be on the Michelin guide!

J

Amazing, authentic ramen in an unassuming strip mall. Reasonable prices for the high quality. Gyoza was perfect ratio of filling to wrapper. We tried a few dishes but the Tantan Men was the winner for me. Broth was layered with flavors between the spice, the flavor oil and the pork. Definitely recommend.

I've been wanting to try this place for a while and just got around to it because my vegan ramen loving niece was in town and I took this opportunity to come here. We loved it enough that she wanted to come back and try a different vegan ramen option. The first night, we came on a Saturday evening, right at 5:30. There was already a line and the place filled up quickly. We were a party of 6, so we ended up having to wait. We ordered many different items and enjoyed them all. So, twice in under seven days, we came back to enjoy more menu options. This time, we were a party of 5 and there was a table available for us at 8:30. Service was great, food was great, nice atmosphere. Yes, I will be back.

Wife found this place while visiting. Small, easy to miss joint but the food is SO GOOD! Firstly, service was very good - the staff was so friendly, there was a slight language barrier but not an issue at all. The menu is not too intimidating: small menu but what we got did not disappoint. Started w/ duck app that was very flavorful. Really enjoyed the KOSOBA JOSUI/SHOYU RAMEN: what a great garlic broth! Also had the MISO ramen that was layered and nuanced in its flavor. This place is GOOD.

Excellent ramen place. Great prompt service. Had the Signature Josui Ramen. The broth is flavored just right, with a rounded mouth feel. The added egg we ordered is not tamago but cooked to perfection with the egg white having a bouncy texture and the yolk medium rare. Highly recommend!

The atmosphere in this tiny ramen restaurant is unmatched by any of the other ramen places in this tiny plaza. The waiter was super kind, and the food was delicious. The large bowl of ramen is actually pretty big, so only upgrade it if you're down to dig in (unfortunately I left most of the both in my bowl- and it was good too) Make sure to write down your party on the clipboard!

This Ramen shop may take my top spot for my favorite Ramen in Torrance. Super clean broth, the noodles were cooked really well, and the chashu on top was some of the best I've ever had. The karrage was pretty average, but if you want really good ramen, you should definitely stop by this spot!

IMO Arguably one of the best ramen places in LA. Traditional to hot and spicy. If you like ramen give Josie Ramen a try. I started eating before I remembered to take a picture of my dish, is the reason for the partially eaten picture, my bad.

Great hidden spot for ramen! And you must try their ramen here! You get to choose thick or thin for the noodles. Both noodles are good either way but if you don’t say anything they will do the thin noodles automatically. You have to order egg separately but it was so worth it! If you don’t like runny york egg, you might wanna pass on that! The soup was so delicious and very authentic. The soup is packed with flavors! My husband order the Josui signature ramen and I had tan tan men. The josui had amazing comfort soft flavor ( pork chicken and fish) n tan tan had more flavor n little bit on the heavy side but I was craving for something rich with flavor. Overall I can’t wait to try more of their different flavor.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Five Stars for Josui Ramen Josui Ramen delivers the kind of comfort and craftsmanship that keeps you thinking about your next visit before you’ve even left the table. The broth alone is worth the trip — deeply flavorful, rich without being heavy, and layered with that slow‑simmered depth you only get from true dedication in the kitchen. Every sip hits with warmth and authenticity. The pork is melt‑in‑your‑mouth perfection. Tender, silky, and beautifully seasoned, it practically dissolves the moment it touches your tongue. It’s the kind of chashu that tells you someone back there really cares about doing things right. And then there are the Japanese chicken wings — absolutely stellar. Crispy, juicy, and packed with flavor, they strike that perfect balance of savory satisfaction and addictive crunch. Easily some of the best wings around, ramen shop or otherwise. From start to finish, Josui Ramen nails it. Exceptional flavors, thoughtful execution, and dishes that leave a lasting impression. A must‑visit for anyone who appreciates ramen done with heart!

One of the best ramens in LA! I love their shoyu and jyosui ramen. It’s light and refreshing, yet full of depth, and I just can’t stop eating. The noodles are medium-thick, pleasantly chewy, and absolutely delicious. Karaage and gyoza are also really good. The price is also really affordable! I highly recommend this place!

BRING CASH TO SAVE 4%!! I went here to go get Ramen on a Saturday around 5:30 PM and it was quite empty. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they have a bar, but I did not see any bar menu and I did not necessarily ask for one because I’m not a big drinker. The Ramen that I got was pretty good and it was actually very spicy and it actually clean some congestion that I had in my throat that I didn’t even know that I had. I will say that I’m a bit disappointed that it cost one dollar to get the spiciest version of the food and it is on the menu that it cost money to add different levels of spices. The eggs cost $2.30 out as of February 2025 if you want an egg and I will say the meat that I got was not plentiful for a $15 bowl of robin noodles. Overall, the experience with the waitress was fabulous. She did fill up my cup without asking her to, and she was quite fast in response to my visual cues when I was ready to order and when I was ready to leave. The chicken that I got was actually quite hot and I thought it wasn’t gonna be as hot because it didn’t seem smoky when it came out to me but when I took a bite, it was quite hot and pretty good. There are definitely better Ramen spots with a better atmosphere for the price of it. this one is OK.

I ordered Spicy Miso Ramen and my group ordered some takoyaki. The takoyaki came out blazing hot, so careful you don't burn yourself. The flavors are quite good but the octopus is on the chewier side. Personally, I love bonito flakes, so I wish there was a little more. For ramen, I'd say their portions are decent for the price, since it fed me for at least two meals. The chashu pork was tender enough to where you can easily tear it apart with your spoon and chopsticks. I ordered level 2 spicy for my ramen and my boyfriend ordered level 3 spicy for his. Level 2 has just enough spice for casual spice enjoyers, but level 3 is perfect for spice enthusiasts. The restaurant itself is compact but not uncomfortably cramped. Though some of the seats have holes and the window near us was covered with a large sheet of paper and some tape. It didnt seem quite complete yet, but it doesnt take away too much from the dining experience. Overall, great chill restaurant to take your friends out for some tasty ramen.

Possibly the best ramen spot in Gardena. I had a hard time choosing between the Tantanmen and the Seafood Tsukemen, but went with the Tantanmen this time. It was rich, flavorful, and well-balanced, with just the right amount of spice and plenty of crunchy bean sprouts. I’ll definitely be coming back for the Tsukemen this summer. One of my companions ordered the signature Jousui Ramen, and the other had the Shoyu with Garlic Oil Ramen. They usually avoid tonkotsu, but found this version light and easy to enjoy. We all added combos (+$4.25 for salad and karaage), shared a plate of fried calamari, and ordered two small Sapporo drafts—because ramen just isn’t complete without a cold beer. Prices: • Jousui Ramen: $12.80 • Shoyu + Garlic Oil: $12.95 • Tantanmen: $15.00 • Combo add-on: $4.25 Total came out to around $80 for three people. One of my companions, who didn’t even eat ramen when we were in Japan, said we absolutely have to come back. And don’t skip the calamari—it’s crispy, tender, and definitely worth it.

🇯🇵 JAPAN (via Eat the World Los Angeles) - The namesake Josui ramen ($10.80) has the pork and chicken stock the shop is recognized for, and is almost always the bowl underneath the customers who come to solo slurp. This is a good indication that it should be your starting point on the menu, despite its very simple look and presentation. Plenty of extras are listed on the menu if you desire, but the bowl without additional toppings is just as good as anything.

Never had ramen broth that wasn't made from pork. The taste was amazing, light, refreshing and less oilier than tonkotsu. The noodles were boiled to perfection, chewy and delicious. Will come again to try the broth-less ramen for sure. This place on my bf’s to eat list for awhile. We came on Sunday around 12:30pm. There is no wait and not so many people. We ordered two bowls of ramen, Josui ramen and shoyu ramen with garlic oil, we also add combos salad and 3pcs karaage. The chicken is very tender not dry, the salad is normal. The noodle soup was so good. It warms my soul. It is not over powering, pretty subtle. Two pieces of chasu are enough for me. Even though I ate slower than usual the noodle didn’t get soggy. My bf ate all the soup and we will come back for the Maze soba. The restaurant was full when we were leaving.

It's one of the best Shio ramen I've found in SoCal. The broth has a good balance w umami. The noodles were perfect (You can also ask for katamen, hard noodles), and the toppings are also good. This is only 1 of the best 3 ramen in this area. The other 2: Kitakata & Ikkousha. Don't bother w Shin-Sen-Gumi (They've lost their ways). EDIT: I have to revise and deduct 1 star. The food is the same greatness, but they took out the radish and yet increase the price? Huh? It's still really good, but I hope they don't continue a downward path like "Shin-Sen-Gumi" :(

First time trying this place. Good food, i got the spicy miso with extra everything, but the service wasn't that great. Forgot my green tea and appetizer. I know why. They need another server. Especially when you have one girl working hard while the other guy is slow so she has to pick up his slack. Not sure if he was new, but he needs to step it up.

When I want to eat tantan ramen, this is the place I go to. I stumbled upon this place when searching up good tantan ramen and decided to try it out. The service is great, and the place is very quaint. It looks big, but tables fill up fast with how good the food is here. The tantan ramen comes up with a generous portion of minced meat and the noodles is a thin and straight, a fresh taste compared to the normal noodle strands a lot of ramen places use. I once got extra noodles and I actually could not finish my bowl, which tells me the regular sized portions are enough. I have tried their kaarage and it was just okay. A little too big and flaky in my opinion and not enough juice or meat.

D
Danny Kim

Good ramen, good flavor and many add-on options, decently priced. Definitely worth trying out if you've never been. Quality has dropped a bit since it's grand opening but to be expected. Still a decent option for a sit-down ramen shop.

This ramen spot was great for its price. It was $10-$12 bux per ramen. The broth was decent and the noodles were cooked perfectly. I did find the chashu to be a little too fatty and less flavorful. If you need ramen craving to be fixed, this place will do.

My friends took me to this restaurant for the first time. The food was good. We ordered the typical ones. The flavor was typical Japanese ramen. It was fresh, not too much ingredients but really delicious. Minus was the thin meat and little topping. The restaurant is close to our college so it’s always crowded.

Good local ramen. The Josui ramen has quite the strong fish flavor despite the description sounding very light. The noodles were cooked just right. The miso ramen was good although the miso overpowers anything that may have resembled the original broth flavor. The ramen egg was ok, not as flavorful or runny as others. The chicken karaage batter was quite light, like tempura but light on flavor. Service was fast. The ambiance was very cozy and felt authentic

Ramen spot off the beaten path. Came here for dinner with a couple of friends right at 5:30 when they opened. There was a small line and there’s a list where you can write your name down for when it’s a busier time. Got the maze soba which wasn’t too spicy but had good flavor. We also split an order of gyoza (5 pieces) which were on the smaller side it came freshly fried. The service was nice and prompt. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Credit cards accepted (only one card per table). There’s a parking lot with ample spots.

Nagoya style ramen and chicken wings! Better than what I had in Nagoya. Great service and quick service. There is discount if you pay by cash. Great prices.

Their service is amazing and family friendly. We were surprised to see several families with young children. Even though our wait was only 15 mins, a few families started waiting outside and they brought out some chairs for us. They gave my toddler a pack of cute erasers. Scissors were provided to help cut up the ramen for my daughter. In regard to the food, we all loved the pickles and chicken wings, even my toddler. My husband enjoyed the spicy ramen and I was content with the josui ramen. I may have been too distracted with my toddler to really enjoy my ramen so I would give the josui ramen another try. This could easily be a regular spot for us to dine at.

Food Order: Karaage (chicken marinated in original sauce & spices, lightly battered & fried; lemon wedge) $6.75 Abura Soba (chashu pork, shredded nori, moyashi, menma, fresh negi, special blend of garlic oil sauce) $10.80 Josui Ramen (sliced chashu pork, nori, menma, sliced red radishes, negi; signature ramen with stock made with pork, chicken, & finished with fish) $10.80 Spicy Ramen (blend of pork, beef, garlic, chili, moyashi, fresh negi) $12.00 I've been waiting to try Ramen Josui for awhile, & what perfect timing with my new foodie gal pal, Deanna T. We met at a volunteer event, & bonded over our philanthropic passions for community services & love food. She offered to travel to my neck of the woods for a weekday lunch so here we are. Ramen Josui is located on the northwest side of The Plaza business center. The entrance is unassuming with a couple of 2-seaters, should you prefer to dining outside. Once inside, there's a large bar on the left, mostly with individual patrons, with a couple of booths & tables running along the wall; simple decor with some scattered wall art like Osaka Castle. After placing our order, we spent the next hour or so chillin' & catching up. The Karaage appetizer arrived quickly, & noshed on these hot, crisp, juicy, & flavorful chicken... it tasted great with or without the splash of lemon juice! The lemon added some bright sour citrusy flavor that enhances the chicken's savoriness. Our ramen bowls followed shortly... I can smell the spiciness of the broth, but don't breathe in too close, or you'll start sneezing when the chilis tickle your olfactory bulb. The pork & beef blend was flavorful with that spicy kick... true to their word this combo will make your taste buds tingle! The spicy broth was tasty, almost creamy, & had good depth of flavor, but it doesn't have that luscious umami flavor of SSG's tonkotsu broth. And yes, I know it's a different type of broth for the Taiwanese style ramen, but I love unctuous ramen broths. If a bowl of ramen isn't enough, turn it into a combo set for $3.50: small salad & karaage (3 pcs.), or small salad & gyoza (3 pcs.). I came back a couple of months later with my brother & we split bowls: Abura Soba & Josui Ramen. Abura Soba is a soupless ramen with tender chashu pork, shredded nori, moyashi, menma, negi, & garlic oil sauce... imagine chewy noodles (it was a bit too al dente, needed another 30-secs.) with a savory, umami garlicky sauce offset by tender pieces of pork, with contrast of crunchy bamboo shoots & moyashi, & sharp crunch of fresh green onions to the rich, oily bowl of noods. I threw in a heavy hand of togarashi for some chili heat. Next time I need to throw in a soft-boiled egg for some added richness, & creamy elements; a Jidori egg would be even better. The moniker ramen is made with their signature stock that's a balance of pork & chicken with a fish finish, so it's a lighter & flavorful broth (yep!)... throw in a couple of slices of pork chashu with nori sheet for some salty oceanic flavor, contrasted by bamboo shoot crunch & crisp, mild sweetness from radish slices (only on a couple of bites) with gentle aromatics of wilted, yet springy onions. Compact menu that consists of ramen bowls with options to upgrade to a combo set or customize with toppings, appetizers, couple of salad, rice bowl, & dessert options; moderate prices & serving sizes. If you're a night owl, their Happy Hour Beer is from Sunday - Thursday, 8:00 PM - closing; Sapporo bottle: $3, & pitcher: $12.50. Good customer service, though I would appreciate a little more attentiveness on my water glass being refilled. The Plaza has plenty of parking, but spots near the entrance get taken quickly during lunch & dinner rush. With so many ramen options, Ramen Josui is a solid ramen shop that's worth repeat visits. Slurp happy... おいしいです! Recommended: Spicy Ramen, Abura Soba, Josui Ramen, Karaage.

Very welcoming atmosphere. Sadly their space can get filled and become pretty tight. The ramen was good but didn't exactly hit the spot so adding a few ingredients they offered helped since I love spice. I'm not the biggest curry fan but my friend loved it.

I checked out Josui Ramen after a friend recommended it and saw it had solid reviews. Unfortunately, it didn’t live up to the hype. The broth was way too salty for my taste, and the chicken karaage appetizer was dry and overly seasoned. Service was disappointing since I had to wave several times just to get the server’s attention, which made the whole experience feel a bit neglected. At nearly $50 for two bowls, it just didn’t feel worth it. If you’re looking for better ramen, I’d go with Kitakata Ramen Ban Nai because their broth is much more balanced and the noodles have that perfect firm, chewy texture.
