Very nice and friendly service! We came with a large group after reserving a private room. We ordered a bunch of items but my favorites were the sashimi platter, grilled beef tongue, gyoza, and house hot pot. All their udons were good I'm just not a huge udon fan in general. But I did prefer the original umami maze udon over the spicy miso udon. Salted pork belly, grilled salmon cheek, yuzu yellowtail, spicy crispy tofu, takoyaki, and tempura were all standard. Fries were too salty for me, probably the only item we ordered that I wouldn't recommend. All their desserts were not bad but nothing crazy. They accidentally spilled soy sauce on my friend's sleeve but where extremely apologetic about it and helped her clean it as well as giving her 3 complementary desserts!
I highly recommend the Mentai Cream Hot Pot. The creamy dashi broth is flavorful and tasty, perfect for sharing between 2-3 people. It comes with generous amounts of mentaiko, tofu, mochi, cabbage, mushrooms, pork belly and chicken. It's so delicious! Another recommended dish is the Salmon & Ikura Kamameshi aka cast iron pot. Their udon dishes are good too. The noodles are made in house daily. When u arrive, they always ask if you have a reservation. We have done walk-ins many times and were seated right away. I would suggest making a reservation for weekends and holidays, just in case.
Love this gem of an authentic Japanese restaurant! Vibe is homey, staff are very friendly, and food is delicious and fairly priced. We got the mentaiko motsunabe and it’s one of the richest soups I’ve ever had. It’s enough to feed 4 people!! Portions are very generous. Definitely will come back! Came on a Sunday night and surprisingly no wait!
Delicious and legit Japanese restaurant for your craving! I had: 1. Mentai Cream Hot Pot 2. Salmon with Truffle Oil 3. Yellowtail Jalapeño 4. Japanese Chili Fried Chicken Wing 5. Crispy Winged Gyoza 6. Spicy Crispy Tofu 7. Salmon Ikura Kamameshi 8. Yuzu Sour 9. Okinawa Sour
Celebrated the year with colleagues at this amazing izakaya! We used one of the private rooms to have our celebration, so we were able to talk with little disruption from other patrons. The assortment of delicious appetizers and entrees made this place a future go-to spot for dinner. Every dish was cooked well with high-quality ingredients. I even liked the ika and tako, even though I usually don't order squid or octopus when there are so many other fresh options available. Staff is very polite and helpful. Both the udon and ramen noodles are excellent options, although you can't go wrong with any of the dishes on the menu.
Parking is really easy even on weekends. The restaurant is spacious and the staff is friendly. The menu has lots of different food options. This place is great to hang out with friends and family to catch up or meet up. Our party had a baby, they have high chairs and staff were very accommodating, we did not feel like a nuisance while dining here. When the baby was rowdy and there was a lobby area just a short walk away to calm the baby down with various Japanese decor.
We visited on a Sunday evening around 7:15PM and were seated after about a 20-minute wait. The restaurant was pretty busy and packed. Service was a bit slow but courteous. We ordered a couple dishes to share: 1. The assorted pickled veggies were crispy and refreshing but will probably skip next time. 3/5 2. The karage was seasoned well and juicy. It was so busy so we didn't get a chance to flag down the waitress for mayo to dip. 4.5/5 3. The 16 piece UFO gyoza was HUGEEEE and so juicy. A must order! 5/5 4. The Nabeyaki udon was piping hot and hearty. The udon had a wonderful chewy texture with nice bounce. It came with 2 pieces of shrimp tempura which was a bit soggy. 4/5 5. The Zaru soba was so tasty! The noodles were chewy, refreshing, and the dipping broth was not too strong. 5/5 Overall, a lovely dining experience. I want to come back to try some of the lunch specials.
Love the noodles here. The udon and soba are both great. I had the maze udon. It was full of flavor and I felt like I devoured the whole thing. It's a nice hole in the wall place. One thing to know is that any of the udon dishes could have the noodles swapped out for soba if you wish. Personally I felt like the udon was a perfect match because the thick noodles carried sauce amazingly. Last summer I also came here and had the yuzu soba for lunch. That one was amazing so if they have that you should definitely order it
was soo goood ✨️ ordered the unagi hitsumabushi, was very soft and savory takoyaki was ok, came warm/hot and wasn't very crispy but flavor was good tempura had a good variety of different vegetables (other than the standard, pumpkin, shrimp, eggplant, sweet potato, etc.)- included different mushrooms, shishito pepper?, chikuwa would come back again 💯 service was super nice and friendly. we arrived a bit late around 8:30PM. food came quickly and the atmosphere was pleasant (they had curtained booths which were pretty nice)
This place is great! Service was awesome. And the food doesn't disappoint. Closest thing to being in Japan! And trust me I go all the time to visit. I had the curry udon katsu . Fresh, seasoned correctly, katsu cooked perfect. My girlfriend had the spicy kimchi udon. Also seasoned well and definitely spicy! Highly recommend restaurant. Will be heading back to take my friends .
Cozy atmosphere that serves dishes packed with flavor. The seaweed was a great appetizer and the Gyoza was cooked to perfection. I got the katsu chicken curry and it had a great balance of spices. Service was a bit slow and we had to ask for drink refills a few times, but they also seemed very busy since it was mother's day.
The hotpot is soooo yummmm! But I started it wrong. The fish roe supposed to be cooked and blended into the broth to enhance the flavor. And don’t forget to order a udon to add into the hotpot! It’s sooo good! The yam with tuna and the marinated seaweed tasted fresh and interesting as well. Definitely will come back!
We ordered Japanese chili fried chicken wings which were crispy, not much seasoning on it but the sauce was good. We also got Nabeyaki Udon and original umami Maze Udon (broth-less). They both were amazing. Their udon is fresh homemade. I like the texture of the udon. The soup is very subtle, it hit the spot. The broth-less one had very nice flavor, not over powering, not too salty. Recommend to eat udon at this place. We saw other customers ordered hot pot, but we didn’t try.
They definitely know how to get you in the mood ☺️. The first thing you'd noticed is the aesthetics of the place and how clean, pleasantly lit the place is. I also really like their seating arrangements: very spacious but cozy. Servers were really friendly and patient. The place was clean, restroom included. Now, moving on to the food, I enjoyed every single dish on the menu 😋: - Shrimp Tempura Udon: This was a very comforting dish. I had oily food for days and decided to eat something light and this udon didn't disappoint. Seasoning again was on point and the broth was very delicious (I actually finished the whole bowl). The tempura was ok, but still enough for me to enjoy it. 👍🏼Portion was huge! Loved it. - Grilled Salmon: The portion was fair, the meat texture was perfect (tender and juicy). It was fresh and the seasoning was just right, not too salty nor oily. It was fairly priced too! I recommend this for salmon lovers! - Chicken Kaarage: They really made this extra crispy and the meat was also very juicy (I hate dry chicken and this is not it, so woohoo! 🎉). Overall, I would really like you to try this restaurant. You would have an amazing experience here. I am looking forward to coming back here to try the other dishes on the menu. Money well spent! 😁
Food, pretty much best udon/soba we have had outside of Japan! Our daughter is a big time cold soba fan and she loves it! Service, fast and polite, no complain there Atmosphere, nothing special to write home about, it’s decent. For folks who want to visit there, keep in mind they are closed on Tuesday.
Saw the owners posts on Instagram. Surprisingly it was a local restaurant and decided to come after looking through all the amazing looking dishes that were posted. The Undon/Soba noodles are made fresh daily by the owner. The pictures do not do the food justice, as its MUCH more amazing in person. Decided to stop off during the lunch hours. Was attended immediately and in a comfy booth. Our orders on our visit: Curry Beef Udon Agemochi Oroshi Udon Shoyu Fried Chicken Side Shrimp Tempura Side Yuzu Sparkling Drink Kinako Flan with Brown Sugar We started with the Shoyu Fried Chicken, each piece was perfectly cooked. Only dark meat was used and a side of lemon slice for lite seasoning. It's all it really needed and was finished in a few bites The Shrimp Tempura was so light and flavorful the only unfortunate part is that it's gone in less than two bites and leaves you wanting more. The Curry Beef Udon was absolutely fantastic, not overpowering in flavor and rich enough to stick to the udon and beef to make an amazing flavor combination. The Agemochi was a unique new tasty experience. I've only eaten mochi cold and with fruit flavors. The mochi served was very chewy and stretchy but in a good way as it soaks up broth with every bite. 😀 We found a unique drink being offered and I am always happy to try new foods and drinks I happily drank the deliciously sweet Yuzu Sparkling Drink, although high in sugar it's Yuzu flavor complimented all the dishes we ate great 👍 To finish off our great lunch we tried the in house Kinako Flan with Brown Sugar. The taste was surprisingly mild and extremely smooth, reminding me of a semi sweet pudding drizzling with liquid brown sugar. Very happy overall with all aspects of the restaurant and am looking forward to visiting more often and trying more amazing foods on the menu.

Went there for lunch, it was pretty busy but no wait. The Udon is good with fresh hand made noodles, the soup was okay not the best I've tried. Service was good so happy overall with my experience. Will go back and try other items on their menu.
The post Thanksgiving Day holiday had our family craving Japanese cuisine, and led us to this restaurant. My kids are familiar with this area and said this might be the fourth business at this location. Th menu says each customer will please order one item per person. We went beyond that I think! We tried the Japanese house Akatsuki special hot pot : your choice of broth, fresh made udon noodles and meatballs, slices of pork, tofu, mochi, Napa cabbage and enoki mushrooms. Extra charge for additional broth. Hot pot is served on a butane powered stove. We got yuzu salt broth - their version I quite better tasting than other hot pot style places. Got this dish plus additional udon set (noodles, spring onions, tempura crumble and egg or risotto set (it’s really just rice, comes with seaweed and cheese (poured broth over the dish to make the risotto). I got the Nabeyaki Udon ( broth, udon, fish cake, two shrimp tempura, chicken and poached egg. I enjoyed this dish too! Hearty broth and great chew on the noodles. Served in an iron pot - stayed hot throughout my meal. The Kamameshi bowl takes 30 minutes to come out ; hot ceramic bowl with rice and salmon- their version salmon got overdone but the rice itself was flavorful. Brothless Maze Udon had ground pork, spring onions and other herbs plus poached egg. Salmon chazuke is served with its own little pot of broth to pour over the dish. Spicy umami Maze udon had kimchi added. Ended with Japanese mochi ice cream split and a Japanese’s cake roll . Serves cocktails, beer and sake. Attentive waitresses and servers. Fried Gyoza appetizer came out midway through: 17 pieces (the next size only has 6). Overall solid food offerings. Unfortunately the first table by entryway had plastic and blue tape overhead- some kind of plumbing issue a few weeks past was posted on their facebook page. Several other dining areas, some with Japanese style low table seating (adapted for Westerners by having a lot of legroom underneath.) High chairs not advisable because a lot of dishes are rough to table piping hot! Lots of parking.

It was my first time visiting this Japanese restaurant. The service and environment were just average. They didn't offer a wide variety of food. I tried a few of them, but I wasn't impressed. The "Mentai Cream Hot Pot" looked quite attractive, but I really didn't think it was very delicious.
Only ordered the mentai hotpot. Totally ruined the mentai. It looks so good before cooking, but hotpot and mentai don't go together well. After cooking, it just tastes like boiled meat soup

I went here 3 times. First time, there was huge gaps between each food comes out. Portion wise very little but expensive. Second time, foods came out as soon as we ordered. Wait.. we Just ordered but how so fast that food comes out so quick? Food, salty and still small portion and expensive. Third time as my last time will be coming to this restaurant. I WOULD NEVER SPEND EVEN ONE SINGLE PENNY here. Food came out super late and one of the waitress is rude. Most of them was old Japanese ladies but! There was young asian lady who worked in the Sunday dinner time was so super RUDE and she ruined my experience and my family’s dinner. One food came out and 15 mins later another food came out and another 15mins later food came out. Ridiculously rest of my family member had to lick the chopsticks until food comes out. Still expensive compare to worth of the food. Never come back. I’ve tried enough time and so not worth it.
