Very reasonable lunch specials, staff were lovely

I've ordered delivery twice from here and both times it was at my door before expected. On top of that the food is fantastic. I'm so picky about sushi and Chinese food, I hate when it is overly greasy or they use cheap ingredients. Sushi King is easily the best Chinese food I've had in Troy. They definitely beats out Lee lins and plum blossom. Try the Spicy Crab roll!! So good. :)

My friends and I came here yesterday, and all of our food was delicious. The service was so fast and the restaurant was very clean. This will definitely become one of our regular spots!

I go here typically every two weeks or so and the place is just fantastic. It has a very sushi bar feel, but is quite clean and doesn't over do the neon lighting like some other places like this. The sushi is super fresh, I'm a big fan of the lunch special, it's a good bargain. Everything that is battered is light and crispy, from the chicken to the rangoons. The miso soup that comes with practically every entree is flavorful and doesn't over stuff you before your meal. The prices are also very reasonable as freshly made sushi can be very expensive, I'd just complain about the soft drink portioning. You get a single can for a dollar-fifty. I love this place, and it is a great restaurant to get a quality lunch with some friends.

My go to for Sushi, Chinese and Japanese cuisine in Troy! I have tried other places nearby, but Sushi King is always my go to. The Flying Fish Roe really changed the way I eat sushi. The quality and love put into their food is what keeps me coming back!

Always quick, eating in or ordering take out. Also the prices are great especially when everything is going up and people skimp on food. I bought the lunch and it was so good. A few weeks ago went for dinner and even sitting there the service was quick, friendly, fast and clean.

I ordered the shrimp with lobster sauce and instead of pork fried rice I requested beef fried rice. I expected small shrimp like some places but the ones I had were I would say medium size which was great and there was no small pieces of beef but nice sizes. This is my new place for Chinese food I tried others since moving here but this is by far the best.

I’ve been living in Troy for a year now and have been trying to find a good Chinese spot. I have yet to find one to my liking! I was also craving a tuna roll so thought I would give this spot a whirl since they also delievered. We were NOT disappointed. The Chinese combo, the sushi, the ramen everything was amazingly good and this will definitely be my go to spot from now on!!

Sushi King in Troy is an amazing restaurant, Mike puts everything into his food. it doesn't matter if you come for sushi, ramen or Chinese food; it's all good, something you can't always say when a restaurant has multiple cuisines.

The food here is amazing!! Me and my husband have frequent dates here and we gobble up the pork fried rice!! The memories I have here are so wholesome and the place is kept neat and tidy with top tier service. Mindy is so sweet and wonderful it is a pleasure seeing her whenever we come to eat!! 🍽️😋

I went to sushi king for one of my close friends birthday and the atmosphere was beautiful with all of the workers being very polite and understanding to anything u ask of them. I especially like the spicy miso ramen as it was by far one of the BEST ramen I tried while in Manhattan. My friend was even able to get really tasty vegan options that was just perfect. I would definitely come again with my family!

Our family has been eating at Sushi King for decades. As vegetarians we appreciate the delicious tofu and vegetable dishes. My kids' favourite is General Tso's Tofu. We also like the sushi. (My daughter loves the avocado rolls!)

I didn’t dine in I did take out I got 5 sushi rolls last night and couldn’t finish one of them and I just had them for breakfast and they were still just as amazing as last night. I don’t know how they did it but the rice never got hard and the sweet potato roll and the California roll were moist and delicious.

I decided to go there last week for lunch with my friends and we had such a good time. The food was really good and the service was fast. All the sashimi tasted really fresh especially the tuna. I loved the eel maki and my friend enjoyed the salmon roe sushi a lot. The place was kept really clean. Me and my two other friends spent around 90 dollars and we all left with our stomach full.

I LOVE Sushi King! The food is always fresh and the atmosphere is relaxed. They have great sushi plates and most people do not know they serve “American” Chinese food as well. The sesame chicken is to die for and the egg rolls are always crisp and fresh! This is one of my favorite places to get take out, or just eat solo on a leisurely Friday night. If you’re going to do Sushi in Troy, give Sushi King a try! Great food and the prices are very reasonable!

Food are good with reasonable price.

Good restaurant, good food, fast delivery. The only thing that annoys me is the fact that they've changed their online food ordering from Mealeo to something else, to GrubHub... all within a couple months. It's a bit annoying to keep changing around, creating accounts and registering passwords. Choose a site and stick to it. Ordering online is incredibly convenient and works very well, but multiple accounts with different services is not cool.

Sushi were very mediocre. Half of the sushi were lacking actual fish. Just tiny piece of something. ALL of them vere made very sloppy, half rolled. Like there was not enough seaweed to roll them up. I will never order from Sushi King again.

I went there the other day and spent almost $70 on take out and returned to ask for another seaweed salad. I order seaweed salad almost every time I get sushi and occasionally, there will be cucumbers for a filler. This salad was just old brownish iceberg salad and a very thin layer of seaweed on top. Most of the food I ordered was for my friend's children so I only had 4 pieces of sushi. I went back in and politely and respectfully explained that the seaweed salad had very little seaweed. The gentleman at the counter said "That's the way it is." I explained that I have never had seaweed salad with so much filler and he said "Our prices are cheap. It's only $6. Places that give more seaweed charge more money." I said "No, prices are about the same everywhere I've gone, but I won't argue." I walked out very disappointed in the encounter and still hungry. After spending that much money, he could have provided a new one with reasonable portions like they should be doing anyway. It's a shame because it was a very clean restaurant and I wasn't unhappy with the sushi. I will have to make the drive out to Cohoes for sushi from now on.

The sushi was good, not great. Since I was paying cash, they changed the price of two items, adding two dollars to the final price. The driver said that frequently happens. I went back upstairs to my apartment to get extra money since my tip was going to be less. Not a big difference, but I will not order again. I have pictures of my order and the final receipt.

Good presentation and service, but the quality of the Japanese cuisine leaves something to be desired. The salmon sashimi was frozen and the yellowtail was warm. Mild upset stomach, but nothing worse. Not bad for a quick bite of Chinese food, perhaps, but there are better options in the Capital region and my sushi experience was disappointing.

I live 4.1 miles away to be exact and they seem to have a problem with delivering to me because of it and are very vocal about it. They advertise that they deliver up to 5 miles away... sushi is sometimes fresh and then other times, not. Their steak is disgusting because it's a terrible and cheap thin cut (don't order a beef teriyaki if you want quality). The upside is they cook everything to order and seldomly screw that part up. Good honest quality and customer service could really improve. Yuan's is closer to me and way better quality, customer service and is very consistent. I only keep coming back here because I bought restaurant dot com's gift certificates for this place and need to use them up. Once they're gone, we are so over.

I have someone who is allergic to shellfish and requested my orders be separated so there was no cross contamination. Not only did they not do what I asked, but he stated it was imitation crab so my friend would be fine. Sorry, but I don't think you have an MD to qualify that. Unsatisfied and not ordering again.

I stopped in for a late weekend lunch at this small restaurant in downtown Troy, despite the low reviews. I'll give it a chance. As I sat down at the 5-seat sushi bar, I was handed a pair of menus and I began to have second thoughts - one menu description actually put quotes around the word "seafood" - what are they serving? Why do they need to put quotes around the seafood in a seafood restaurant? I hesitatingly ordered a couple of maki and a bunch of nigiri and looked around the dimly lit restaurant with a bit of traditional decor. Luckily the music was muted and the TV was facing the main seating area. After a passable soup, my two-plate plating for the main was simple and competent, without any decoration. The rice itself was lightly seasoned, but pleasant. I was happy to see the chef slice my saba from a vacuum pack he had just opened, instead of the smaller pieces already in the cooler. Why? The cooler concerned me: there was a layer of ice cubes in the bottom of the sushi display cooler (photo). Is the cooler broken? If the name of your restaurant involves the word "sushi," maintenance of the sushi cooler would seem to be of significant importance. But, that's just me. I found the not-spicy tuna maki to be nothing more than a bland paste and the water content of the tamago was high. Is this because it was chilled overnight or frozen? I'm not sure. Also, the taste and color of the hirame seemed a bit off. Not bad, just different. I'll most likely return, but I'll give them a month or two to fix the cooler. 2019 04 27.

Ordered take out, they never told us when to pick it up and didn’t answer the 3 phone calls, so we picked it up after about an hour. When we got home, 3 items were missing so we called (they answered!!) and asked the missing items to be delivered, they were nice about it and all, but it shouldn’t take 3 hours to get a full order of pick up take out from a place 2 miles away :(

I ordered chicken and broccoli and shrimp and broccoli along with chicken on a stick. The chicken was very good but my issue was with the shrimp and broccoli. When I opened the dinner, it SMELLED like FISH. It was so bad that I threw the dinner out in the apartment buildings trash shoot. I will never order that dish ever again.

I ordered a roll, edamame, and miso soup. The edamame was old and shriveled. The miso soup had 5 tiny pieces of tofu (in a pint of soup), and the broth was so salty I couldn't eat it. The roll was also very salty. And I love salt. Colossal waste of money.

They were very rude and they rushed me through the entire process of my phone order. I don’t know why they rush people, especially as someone new calling to place an order.

I'm gonna be completely honest. This place is terrible. Spent $55 on cheap food that taste old and not done well. I'm speechless with the quality. I don't want to even give a 1 star. Don't order from here. SO many other amazing places.

i order from here alot and spend over $70 every single time ! i have little small children and live in an apartment that is has a side entrance, they have the nerve to tell their drivers not not bring my food to my door ! First off all for the price of this food it’s actually not all that super mid only Oder because of the convenience! When i say the nerve of these people ! Used to be a convenient local go to for maki & tempura rolls. But I got hair in my food 2 times in a row. Thought the hair could be my own the first time but wasn't sure so I told them (they didn't care), tossed the food and took the L. Few days later... Ordered different menu items & yup long HAIR in my food. Never again!

If you are looking for good sushi, look elsewhere. Ordered chirashi. What came was fish which was pre-packaged sliced fish of low quality. The presentation was unimaginative, no sesame, seaweed, or ships leaf on the bed of rice, five varieties of equally boring packaged previously frozen fish, and no ginger or wasabi until I asked for it. I tasted one piece and knew I’d be taking a chance by eating the dish. I asked for the check literally five minutes after walking in. The waitress explained that everything was fresh. The freshness was not the point, the low quality was. I should never have been charged for this uneaten meal.

Please take the time and look at the recent reviews. Clearly the owner or someone close to the owner took the time to write 5 star reviews. It’s so obvious and even the owner took the time to reply to the positive reviews but not the negative one? It’s quite disturbing to be honest. The food and quality has gone down tremendously and instead of fixing the problem… Fake 5 star reviews! Just wow.

Terrible ! I came inside for a California roll , I’m allergic to shellfish so that’s really all I get from there . I was watching the chef prepare the rolls for myself and a customer behind me who had a shrimp roll. The chef used the same knife and gloves for the California roll and shrimp roll after I told them I was allergic! The hostess came out and instead of rectifying the problem defended the fact that they DO NOT change their gloves ! She even said I should just go somewhere else next time TERRIBLE people and TERRIBLE service they should be ASHAMED of themselves !

Ordered delivery (doordash). Within 3 minutes of ordering I received 3 calls which I couldn't answer because I was in a meeting. Called back about 10mins later when I noticed, to be greeted with someone who repeatedly asked in a hostile tone "oh you pick up the phone now?" Apparently when I ordered 4 months ago there was an issue with the driver not being able to leave the food per the order instructions, and they not only remembered that but decided to make it an issue. It's really a shame they decided to be rude about it since the food is pretty solid. Maybe in person is a better experience.

I have been a customer for over six years, I had moved multiple times and I would always say is a joke that I can only move where Sushi king can deliver. Always had great service great quality fresh food. However, something has changed in the last 3-4 months. I didn’t know they changed owners or changed the chef, but the food just wasn’t the same in the last couple months. However, we continue ordering. However, last three times were absolutely terrible. I don’t know what happened to the rice, but it tastes terrible, it tastes like they’re using really bad tap water, because you cannot taste the rice. You just taste something nasty. Then, the second time from last one of the meals we ordered was Tofu teriyaki which I had ordered in the past many many times, and I know exactly how it looks. However, there was absolutely no sauce, no dressing and nothing this time, just plain fried tofu. And if you know, tofu, you know that you have to season it because it literally taste like nothing if you don’t put anything on it. So that was second time when they messed things up and rice was also horrible however, we still didn’t say anything, because we are so loyal to them, and just keep giving them the benefit. When I was picking up my order recently, I just mention them them that last time order wasn’t edible, and I showed them the picture, and I didn’t really have any expectations, I just wanted to let them know, however, they were so rude and unprofessional about it. And yesterday we ordered from them again, It was a delivery order this time, and we had waited for our order for almost 2 hours, and it never show up. And I called them three times, I was even willing to go pick it up myself, because it is so close however, they will keep giving me some weird answers and hanging up on me And they were so so rude. Absolutely unacceptable to any customer service especially for the restaurant industry. So now I’m looking to find a new place to deliver in Troy, please send suggestions :)
