East Troy's jewel for breakfast and lunch til 2pm to eat in, then after 4pm for pizza and dinner take out! Carol, Anita and the family are amazing!
Always great service and they have the best chocolate chip pancakes! They also gave the best toast and homefries! I highly recommend!
Carol's provided some of the food for my son's graduation party, and everything tasted delicious. I was very pleased with the quality of the food, especially since it was very reasonably priced.
Every time I'm here I feel like the only person who doesn't know everyone else. Great food, good coffee, and breakfest pizza as well as family style meals. One of the better breakfest/brunch spots in capital district.
Home made food and reasonable prices. Best hollandaise sauce for eggs bennidict and terrific pizza just to name a few. Wait staff attentive and fabulous!
Had carols cater a college graduation party, everything was delicious! She was on time, professional, friendly and kept me informed! I would definitely recommend!
We ordered calzones and ziti dinner .It was delivered quickly and was great food. There was enough ziti in one meal to feed 3 people. Thank you and will order again soon
Almost like family!!! We were traveling up from NC on our boat and were lucky enough to find this place , could not have ben more satisfied!! Pizza was awesome
Ordered trays of chicken parm and eggplant parm for a party. Process was easy, price was reasonable, and food was delicious. Thank you Anita at Carol’s Place.
We absolutely love Ms. Carol. I always get her 24 slice pizza when I come up from Georgia. I always kid her about being her favorite southerner.
Really good food for a great price! Carols place is a clean environment and the staff is beyond friendly. Always have had a great breakfast when going there
Great food and staff. Walked in with 17 people they did not even hesitate. Sat us all together and cranked out the food.
Food was as great as the people working there. Pleasantly surprised. Thanks to Missy at the Pawling Ave Cumberland farms for the recommendation.
Great food, absolutely great service. The woman at the counter is amazing (thurs lunch). Price was good. Highly recommended
Great place to grab breakfast or lunch! Great service and delicious food! Family owned and operated!
Love Carol's, Carol, staff, Sandy & Anita two of my fav's. Food, quality and quantity, service and price all tops around. Eat in, take out or have delivered. Only negative is they can be a lil too busy but that is not their fault it's because they are that good and everybody loves Carol's!
We have ordered from Carol’s Place many times. The other night we decided to eat outside. Carol herself was friendly and insisted on waiting on us. Our food was also excellent. Recommend for dine-in or take out.
I ordered a turkey club and boneless wings and I was blown away by both lol..I love turkey clubs and that was the best turkey club I’ve had in a while! The boneless wings had the perfect flavor!!!
I love this place for their eggs Benedict. Delicious bacon and omelets. They have a sweet breakfast bread while you wait for your food. They do get EXTREMELY busy though.
Everyone was hustling and welcoming Guests Food was amazing Out server the RED GEAD was the best great personality and smile. Would definitely recommend to anyone
Very friendly! It had been owned for 40 years and is run by 3 generations! I ordered the eggs benedict (the "Benny") and it held me well (I wasn't hungry for hours).
Still the same friendly staff (some newer) and home-y environment and great home-cooked food (AND PIZZA!) even after 15 years from when I first worked for Carol slingin' dough as a lazy 18 year old! She taught me how to make a bangin' pizza (so did Dave and Billy!) and how to work for a customer's respect! Tuna melt was 👌 and my messy turddler loved his fries!
Nice place to get breakfast. They are familiar with gluten sensitivity/ celiac needs. Ate there twice while I was in the area. Would go again if in the area
Best breakfast in Troy! Perfect pancakes, fantastic omelets, and exceptional Benedicts. They also have fantastic wings and steak subs. You can't go wrong with Carol's Place!
Carol's Place closed last Saturday to cater my daughter's wedding. I have nothing but the highest praise for Anita and staff. The food was totally gourmet. Appetizers, such as goat cheese and beets, stuffed mushrooms, duck, raw tuna and avacado, pork bellies, crostini, bruschetta, cheeses, (I can't even remember it all) Entrees: filet mignon, airline chicken, both with amazing sauces and a butternut ravioli pasta with browned butter sage sauce. (Tiramisu, from villa italia and german chocolate cake) after all that...Then Carol's had pizza and cannoli shooters. Much of it gluten-free by request. All of it AMAZING. All provided at a sit down dinner for us by CAROL'S PLACE in Troy. So delicious. Thank u Anita and staff
Great place for a meal! Cute and cozy atmosphere! I had the bacon egg and cheese and I can highly recommend it!
Excellent choice for breakfast! We came as a family on our way to Albany. We were quickly greeted and seated. Place was clean and bright. Service was terrific, staff was friendly. I was happy to learn they offered gluten-free bread and pizza. And will substitute as needed for allergies. We will be back.
Simple and decent food. Peaceful and nice atmosphere . I ordered the cheese steak and peppers. They serve chocolate chip bread cake before food arrives. It's a really special place.
We've always had a great breakfast at Carol's Place. Today we tried lunch for the first time and that was also incredible! A nice atmosphere, and an incredible service staff that is second to none. Make an effort to come for breakfast or lunch. You will NOT regret it!
Great food great service awesome prices. Try the breakfast pizza. Slight mix up as order was not ready at time requested, I was willing to wait. It's worth it, but Casey took care of everything. So polite, and understanding. My daughter was happy and enjoyed her early bday brunch. We will be returning. Thanks everyone, a place where even the customers are friendly. See you soon, Casey and Sonja
I have been to Carol's place 3 times. 1st time to pick up for a friend. 2nd time during pandemic and they were already closed but were willing to take my order, but I declined. Then tonight (still pandemic restrictions) it was 8:15pm and I was informed that they closed at 8pm. Before I could turn to leave I was again informed that I could place an order. This time I did. Got a mini calzone with sausage. Absolutely delicious! Great food and great service! Highly recommend
We finally tried their pizza... and it's now our official football Sunday pizza.
There was only one waitress on for the whole place. I was told this is the norm. Food was great. I sat at the counter and talked with people also at the counter. Service was a little slow, but I had nowhere else to go.
Perfect for your breakfast (I love the breakfast pizza) lunch or dinner desires. I get lunch there quite often. They’ve been hosting our family of 30 for a catered Christmas event for many years now.
Carol's has the kind of pizza that's so good, that you want to keep eating more of it, after you are full. We had a sausage & peppers topped pizza for dinner. It was absolutely delicious. I'm glad there are a couple slices left for my breakfast. Now I want to try all these other delicious menu items they feature. We'll be back.
Got pizza yesterday for lunch. It was cooked very well and great toppings. I would get it again. Today we got wraps and they were also good and very fresh ingredients. They have a nice restaurant area to sit and eat.
Ordrered large sub, was tired of these chain restaurants that dont even put real meat on then. Carol's couldn't have been more accommodating. My sub was so fresh and they bake there own turkey there. The bread, the meat, topping, o/v dressing. It was great!!!!
I love this place! The corned beef hash is HOMEMADE and the best I've ever had. The triple decker turkey sandwich is plentiful and yummy! Such a nice eatery with warm and lovely customer service. Whenever we come back to Troy, we will definitely be stopping here! Get a double order of the corned beef hash- you won't regret it!
Had a great quick breakfast sandwich there. The bacon, egg and cheese on a croissant was just right. Buttered & Toasted croissant, really made it great. Wanted to try the breakfast pizza, but that will wait till next time. The iced tea was really good !
Korean party. Waitress taking care of all food on the buffet style bar by herself. She was very professional, very helpful, very energetic and a pleasant to talk to. I enjoyed the experience.
I always went here for good takeout dinners but recently stopped in for breakfast on a weekend morning! What a great call, the food was great, service friendly and it had a super friendly neighborhood vibe. A little crowded but i wasn’t looking for a candlelight breakfast anyway, so it was just right. Bravo!
Nice atmosphere. Great wait staff. A little noisy. Best grits in town.
Carolina is amazing. She is always so great when we come to pick up our pizza.
Very laid-back feel, mostly regulars and locals. Very family friendly. Best pizza in the capital area.
This place treated me like a regular. I had a great chat with another guest there and the waitress was so friendly. The wrap I had was solid but more than anything the vibe was so welcoming.
A great small diner/restaurant with friendly attentive service. Great atmosphere, with fun whimsical and expressive sayings artfully hung about for customers to enjoy. A bookshelf area adds to a cozy comfortable atmosphere. A great well priced breakfast and lunch menu with daily specials to choose from. I've never had something that wasn't excellent and worth having again. Parking is not prime as there are only a few spots out front, otherwise you have to park on the street around the corner, which is fine if you can walk up the hill. Entrance is through the pizza place next door which can be confusing if you've never been here before but honestly it works. Definitely highly recommend to stop if passing through or a regular place to eat if you're local. A nice variety to the menu means you have a lot to choose from.
Stopped in for breakfast. Great menu and food.It got busy real quick . Casey our server was absolutely amazing. By herself she handled and managed the whole crowd with the utmost patience and friendliness. Very impressed by her customer service. Highly recommend Carol’s.
Great little restaurant, the 1 woman running the whole room was fantastic to watch. She went about waiting on everyone in the place and was also manning the phone for takeout orders. Very efficient and also congenial to everyone. My sister and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will definitely be going back.
The food is great. This place is a staple for a family meal out. The service is a little slow- because they are packed to the brim. When I went in there was not an empty seat in the house. My only negative experience was that when I placed my order for pick-up, I was told 15 minutes. I got there about half an hour later, and still had to wait about another 30. I got the steak and eggs, both of which were a little over done, but nothing to send back. I have eaten here many times, and my favorite dish by far is the Eggs Benedict.
One of the best breakfasts I've had in a long time. I'll have to go back and try other meals soon. The service was great even though it was super busy and took a little while to get served. The amount of business they have speaks for the quality of the food and the family atmosphere.
Food was delicious. Coffee was weak, but I like strong coffee. Waitresses were friendly and the place was busy for a Sunday morning. We'll go again for sure.
Carol's is a great community resource on the Eastside. The food is good, the people are nice, service can be slow so make sure you like your dining partners.
Our first time there. They place was very crowded, but sat quickly. food came out quickly and it was delicious and large portions.
Solid dependable food with nice staff. It gets very busy on the weekends but they serve the food pretty quickly. On street parking can be limited.
Really weird hours. They are open for breakfast and lunch, close for a bit, then open for dinner. They deliver, but figuring that schedule out is an entirely different issue. The food is pretty good, but nothing that is going to blow your mind at all. That said the prices are fantastic. The staff is friendly and listen to special orders pretty well. If you can get around the weird delivery times, or are just going in person, it is worth the visit.
Very good food. I have only been 4 times but considering I live 25 miles out I like to stop when I am in the area. Love love the beans and greens..order them with sausage every time!
I went to Carol's place to have breakfast. I had the four stack pancakes. They were good and big. I was full after I finished. I had it with a glass of rang juice and a glass of water. Thank you.
Thanksgiving dinner was delicious and the turkey was perfect. I was just frustrated that I was not able to get my food for more than 30 minutes past the scheduled pick up time.
Everything was exceptional. However we were charged too much for both breakfasts which were the same. The computer was blamed for the mistake.
Great local neighborhood pizza joint. Some of the best tasting pizza in the area. Service is always fast and the food is always prepared accurately and on time. Extremely affordable for the quality. No indoor seating for the pizza place, take out and delivery only. They also operate a daytime restaurant next door, I haven't tried it yet. Parking is very tough and traffic is heavy on the road it is located on. Overall a must visit anytime.
This is my third time ordering delivery. The pizza and wings have been phenomenal every time, however, they always say an hour. That is a pretty long wait time already but then it's always late by an additional 30min minimum.
Carol's has great pizza and wings. Only reason for the 4 star is because of the phone system. Some times it takes 10 minutes to get it to ring rather than a busy signal. Other than that delivery is fine and food taste great.
Food was ok. Probably wouldnt go back, our waitress was too busy chitchatting with others to help us. One male waiter does a phenomenal job though. We tipped him even though he wasnt our waiter!
QUICK OVERVIEW Decent food. Would order again. Pros: Open Late, Good Service, Affordable Cons: Quality varies based on dish EXTENDED REVIEW I ordered a cheese pizza, cheese sticks, and fries. Of the three items I ordered the cheese sticks were the most enjoyable. Overall it was an okay meal and I'd probably order it again, especially since the service was prompt and cheerful. However, it did not impress me enough that I would change my pizza shop preferences. I will update this review if I eat here again. PIZZA The most overpowering feature of the pizza was its biting garlic flavor. Following that closely behind was a kind of buttery flavor that seemed to infuse the crust. The cheese was not particularly noteworthy; it was very similar to most other pizzas available at late-night pizza places or bars. The pizza quickly degraded over time and went from gooey hangover food to early morning regret in the space of an hour. CHEESE STICKS The cheese sticks were very good, especially when compared to some cheese sticks I've had in the area. They were generously cheesy with just the right amount of crispiness in their breading. The marinara sauce that came with them was sweet which worked to complement the hearty flavor of the cheese. It had some spice to it but it was softer and expressed itself gradually. FRIES The fries were not crispy, but rather a kind of softness I've not really encountered before. I wouldn't go so far as to call them soggy, but they could be mistaken for that upon first glance. Overall they were alright. They don't seem to salt them much, if any, which is a welcome change from the overly salted fries I've had in the past.
There was only 1 waitress when my mom and I came to eat here. So there was quite a bit of a wait; however the 1 waitress there was working very hard and doing her best so I commend her for her pleasant demeanor through the entire time we were there. I had a veggie omelet. It was edible but nothing to write home about. The home fries were not even room temperature but COLD. I think I would only come back here if it was the only option available.
. i waited 45 minutes for a delivery thru the slice app which my order got lost some how after i received a confirmation email. LITERALLY 3 minutes after i cancel the order they magically find it and deliver it. The owner calls me 7 hours later to lecture me about THEIR problems with the slice app and its my fault they didn't get paid. Maybe if you talk to peolpe with respect and not blame them for your partnership problems you would have got paid. Instead you talk to me as if i work for you and i did sonething wrong . Im very disappointed and glad we are reopening the county so i can take my business elsewhere .very sad.
Food was good Service terrible maybe if the young lady behind the counter was a team player and helped out the waiter and cook instead of chit chatting with everyone service would of been alot faster 30 min is way too long to wait for eggs sunny side up But the food was good and would recommend if you don't mind waiting
Everything was good, EXCEPT, the waitress. Very poor attitude. The place was not busy at all, but noticed she treated the locals differently. She noticed we had name tags on for Student Orientation at Rennselaer.
My co-workers order from here so I tried it. When I arrived it wasnt ready which wasn't a problem. But the dirt on my fruit was gross. 3 of the watermelons looked like they were dropped? There was shredded cheese stuck to a melon ,pineapple looked old. Screams cross contamination. The hashbrowns were undercooked. The omelette was decent. Maybe it was an off day. But its enough for me not to go back. Thanks for the experience.
I quite regularly order from Carol's Place's brunch menu using GrubHub, which doesn't always work out the best. Sometimes it can take upwards of an hour before food is delivery, and sometimes the orders are wrong. These spotty experiences haven't completely stopped me from doing business with them though, as their food is quite delicious.
Kase the waitress was awesome as usual. But it took almost 45 minutes to get out breakfast and it really wasn't that busy. I had homefries and bacon husband had hash and eggs. Very disappointed
Called multiple times to order food for delivery every time I do they answer the phone and say hold please they set the phone on the counter. I sat on the phone for 40 minutes until I got frustrated and finally hung up the phone. So I call back for the next hour and phone is still busy the lady working there when you finally get threw is very rude and I will not be going there anymore. To someone thinking about going there save yourself the time and go to another restaurant where you can get good service
Ordered for pick up a few weeks ago, tried to get the chicken parm over spaghetti, the older man working the phones said they don’t carry spaghetti (it’s literally printed right on the menu) not out, just don’t carry it. Okay.? Angel hair instead I guess? Told half hour pickup. Show up about 25 minutes later to an empty register area and sit there for 10 minutes until I was helped. THEN SAT ANOTHER 10 TO GET MY ORDER. The entire time the woman at the counter was very standoffish and seemed like me waiting silently in their waiting area was a bother to her. Went home and it was ridiculously bland, like not even salted. Pasta over cooked. Decided to give it a second try in case it was an off day. Went back this morning and thought maybe it’ll be better if we eat in instead of take out. Nope. Our hostess sat us and brought us waters and then we sat there for 25 minutes before anyone spoke to us. Come to find out the poor waitress is the only one on on a busy Saturday morning. Ordered, waited over 40 minutes for our food to come out. The restaurant had cleared by the time we got our food, people who were there after us even got served before we did. My chicken salad had grapes throughout it, no big deal, just wish it was on the menu so I could’ve ordered different. Then my boyfriend ordered a medium rare burger- comes out well done. Both of our meals were bland, again, didn’t even seem like it was salted. We didn’t ask for anything new because at this point we just wanted to go home and we didn’t want to wait another 40 minutes to get anything. We figured a burger would take longer than a cold salad wrap, but 40 minutes for it to come out and it’s cooked double the amount he ordered?? We’re really disappointed and won’t be back, which sucks because it’s within walking distance of our house. Only rating 2 stars because our waitress was super sweet and it isn’t her fault she didn’t have the help she needed to be more attentive to her tables.
I used to order from this place & never really had any complaints. I moved & recently moved back & decided to order. First time was through DoorDash. They forgot my muffin+cream cheese. I called & said they were out… Ok so where is my refund? Then the next day I ordered again and they got my order mixed up. Again, I called & was given excuses & no refund or redelivery. I’m never ordering from this place again. AND I want my money back from the muffin I never received and my fresh fruit & corned beef hash.
I ordered the advertised Thanksgiving Roast Turkey dinner for 6-8 & because of illness I wound up with only 2 adults & 1 teen. There was barely enough food with a little leftovers for us 3. It was not roast turkey but either thinly sliced deli meat or turkey roll thinly sliced. The dressing was mostly bread & very dry. I ordered & paid for extra gravy but besides the drizzle on the meat I only receive a pint so I had to open a jar to accommodate us 3. The squash was so pureed that it was like baby food, and although there was enough broccoli for 10 people, it was very undercooked. . Although the butter rolls & pies were good I suspect they came from Bella Napoli. 1 pie came with & I paid $8 more fore the 2nd pie. Very disappointing and it cost me over $200. I guess I should have read the reviews first.
Paid for two items cost $100. I got a tossed salad and a spiral pasta salad with the black olives etc in it. They were a quarter sheet tray each and only a quarter of the way-filled... They asked for a discount she said no and reason why it's so expensive it's because she has to pay for the tin foil trays, now you're just insulting my intelligence. Our family has been ordering from there for years, goodbye Carol... You're just too greedy now
very upset waited one and a half for my breakfast pizza to be completely wrong. i work in the medical field and i don't have time to go get another pizza that i paid $30 for now i have a pregnant women hungry and mad half jalapeno onion tomato half spinach onion and bacon no bacon on pizza it looks like someone thru all the veggies on the pizza never got a call back
Nice place for breakfast. THEN I TRIED THE PIZZA AND WINGS to go in the evening. THE WINGS WERE VERY SMALL AND TASTED LIKE THE OIL FROM THE DEEP FRYER NEEDED TO BE CHANGED. THE WINGS WERE SATURATED, THE PIZZA WAS FLAT, THIN, AND TOUGH TO CHEW. THE DOUGH WAS STALE. I USALLY LOVE COLD 🍕 PIZZA AND LEFT OVER WINGS, THIS TIME IT WENT IN THE GARBAGE. I WASTED $30.00 ALSO GAVE A TIP FOR THE WORST TAKEOUT I HAVE EVER HAD!! THIS FOOD WAS NOT EDIBLE. Save yourself some money and call someplace else. I WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED AND STILL HUNGRY. I WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN.
Tried ordering breakfast a couple of times. Busy signal both times. My business went to skyline diner where they answer the phone and have your food made to order in 15 minutes even during peak hours.
Unless you like wasting your time waiting around for terrible food I wouldn't recommend going here. I placed my order and was told to come pick it up in 20 minutes. When I get there 30 minutes later I was told my order wasn't placed yet. Ok so then I'm told they would have it ready in 5 minutes ok sure I wait another 25 minutes and get a soggy bacon egg and cheese breakfast wrap with no bacon lmao. PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF THE TIME AND EAT SOMEPLACE ELSE
I ordered a pasta and a pizza. They were both awful. The worst pasta I have ever had! It was way overcooked. The sauce tasted awful. The meatballs had no flavor whatsoever. There wasn't one good aspect to the pasta. The pizza tasted absolutely horrible. Too much sauce. Sauce didn't even taste good. The cheese was burnt. Finally, the garlic bread came cold and burnt.
I ordered delivery from Carol's Place. They initially messed up my order, as I had asked for no butter on my toast (I'm lactose intolerant) and it came buttered. They nicely offered to send me replacement toast, but they made sure to burn it first. Why go through the effort of driving back out to me to send me inedible toast?? Clearly they weren't happy about having to redeliver to me, but how childish is that to send me burnt toast?
I can understand being busy on Halloween night. I can understand delivery being delayed. I can not stand for disrespectful customer service when I call for an update/ETA at 1.5 hrs (30 minutes after initial ETA). Especially when final delivery time was 3.25 hours (again ETA initially was 1 hr), and we were missing our wings. P.S. the quality of food and temp it was delivered at winded up not being worth even a fraction of the wait.
On 08/08/21 at 6:00 P M, we ordered the following items from Carol’s Place: Family Bucket Baked Spaghetti, 3 Extra Meatballs, and 2 Orders Mini Fried Doughs total order with tax came to $50.00 and change which included a $3.00 tip. Our food arrived 2 1/2 hours late. I immediately called which (was on speakerphone so my husband could hear the conversation); and spoke to Austin. He begins with due to COVID-19, they are short of staff. He said they closed at 8:00 P M. I responded by stating that is not our concern. I told him our food was ice cold! My husband stated the food was lousy. Austin told us the entire meal would be replaced for free. I made sure to put this in my notes for later reference. On 08/21/21 at 6:00 P M, (on speakerphone) I called to place our order. I explained the entire situation to him. He goes, “you need to speak with Austin”. Austin gets on the phone; and says that is not what I told you. He starts saying that their policy doesn’t refund the entire order for food not returned to them. He then says that they will credit half the order. I told him this is not what he said to us on 08/08/21. I told him that my husband heard the entire conversation. I told him that he was a liar! I became extremely irate due to the fact he was calling me a liar. He then hung up on me. I called back and asked to speak with the owner. Some woman came on the phone claiming to be Carol’s daughter. She started repeating what Austin just said. I told her that Austin didn’t mention anything like that on 08/08/21. She then starts to say that it was over 20 days. I told her no one mentioned anything about a time limit. She goes our policy is $25.00 refund for food orders not returned. I told her then that Austin should have told us that; and he could have sent the driver back to pick up the cold food. I told her I am filing a complaint with NYS Attorney General’s office and NYS Better Business Bureau. She goes what is your name and address. I spelled out my name and gave her my address. I then hung up because I was absolutely fuming at this point. I told her that is a lousy way to conduct business. I told her that staff should not give out false information. I don’t like being made out to be a liar. This definitely cause my temperature to rise. I have absolutely no reason to lie. If Austin didn’t give us that information about the free meal. I would not have been so upset. If he stated that they could on give us a $25.00 credit; or they would have to come back and get the food. Austin is most definitely a liar; because he made a point on 08/08/21 stating they were closed. That is why he never mentioned anything about the $25.00 half order credit. Because I most assuredly would have made them come back. We have been ordering from Carol’s place forever! During all these years never experienced such a nightmare! I made my husband call them back. The man who answered the phone stated that they were sending us a $25.00 gift certificate. When it arrives I plan on sending it directly back to them. I will never do business with a company that blatantly calls me a liar. Carol’s Place just lost a long time customer. When an employee makes a statement to the customer. The company’s owners should honor what is told to them
We got there ready and excited to try it.... only take out for that early afternoon time. Crazy especially for summer hrs. Then we go in to ask a few questions... an elderly lady who really acted like we were bothering her shoved a menu in our hands told us to pick something to take with us and walked away from the counter. No questions got asked, we got in our cars and tried the next place on our list which was wonderful.....
Order took 2 1/2 hours to deliver 2 subs when we live 15 mins away. After food FINALLY arrived it was WROMG. I ordered a sub. The memu states " all subs come with lettuce and tomato. I requested to add pickles and onioms as well. The sub was bare except for the meat and the 2 requested items! I didnt think my order was comicated, but then again I cant speak tp the staff's intelligemce that I need to include " please keep normal stuff on there too ntw, " right after " please add pickles" smh. This was my first and defimatley my LAST time ordering from.here, but if you dont mind waiting 2 1/2 hpurs for sad food that isnt even correct, go for it. Mines in the trash . .
I hate this place, everytime you call they are always closed, or the schedule keeps changing! It’s annoying!
How disappointing - went here Sunday February 6th for breakfast. Arrived at 6:50 ( called the day before to be sure they would be open). There were about 15 of us looking to enjoy breakfast. At 7:05 we called the restaurant because they were not open but we could see a young lady inside prepping. She said she was waiting for the waitress to arrive!! At 7:12 we left. There are too many other good choices in the capital district to eat without waiting for them to open. We drove 20 miles to get there, and had to backtrack to eat somewhere else. Very poor business sense.
Never again. It looked like someone spit in my pizza. Either way it was a watery meds. I threw it out and bought Labellas. Waste of $20
Literally the worst experience I've had with a pizza place. We had ordered online at 5:13. Received an email stating it would be an estimate of 50-60 minutes. I thought, wow - that's quite a while for pizza - but accepted it. My husband called around 6:45 since it was well after the estimate only to hear a busy signal. Really? Took 15 minutes to finally get it to ring. Shortly after someone picking up, I was placed on a 10 minute hold. When the person finally got back on the phone he was very rude and unprofessional. He said "do you know what day of the year it is?" (it was halloween) As if it's the customer's problem in any way. There was zero indication of any respect or glimmer of customer service. The call ended after the guy said that it was "in the oven now". We finally received our food at 7:45 (my son goes to sleep at 8). Spent over $50, mind you. Our food was cold. The order was wrong - my diabetic sister ordered chicken and we only got 2 soggy gross pizza's and a loaf of garlic bread that wasn't even cut. If I could give this place a negative rating, I definitely would. I will never go back there. Reading some reviews after having this experience is proof that it's not the first time these people have treated their customers that way. You guys suck and I hope you read this. I'll be letting everyone I know not to do business with you.
Never again! Waited forever to get sat and there were only 5-6 tables occupied. They did not enforce the mask rule, patrons arrived with no masks, walked around and went to the restrooms without them. One server had to do everything while there was another employee at a table with other guests not helping. It took over 30 minutes for the food to arrive and it was just okay at best, not to mention items missing. Very disappointing and I will not go back!
We normally order pizza, wings and French fries from Carol's and receive delicious food. They have been our go to place for pizza and wings for the past 20 years. Unfortunately our last time ordering (Saturday night) was a train wreck. The fries were pale, limp and soggy (undercooked), the pizza was also undercooked and tasteless (not sure if they changed the cheese and dough) and the wings were subpar. Very disappointed after paying $80.00 for a an order of sad fries, undercooked, tasteleaa10 cut pizza and mediocre hot wings. Hopefully they just had an off night but it will be awhile before going back.
Got a pizza tonight. Their website advertises it as costing $11.99. When I got there they wanted $14.56. I informed the girl doing takeouts that the website gives a different price. She basically brushed it off and was like "Oh ya the owner adjusted the prices back in January" that was almost 9 months ago, I think it's time to change the website. I have a feeling it is misleading on purpose. Because you see one price and then when you get there you're charged more. Like me I'm guessing most people will probably just pay the difference since they're already there. So I go to pay and pull out a card to which the takeout girl says "Just so you know there's a 4% fee for cards." I looked around and not a single piece of signage mentioned any fees for cards. So yet more deceptive tactics to nickel and dime people. The girl then told me that the business absorbs half of the fee. I laughed and said "No bank is charging an 8% fee for credit cards" As for the pizza it was a 5/10. It was pretty salty due to the cheap cheese used but in turn that made it extremely greasy as well. The dough wasn't awful. Being a somewhat decent pie doesn't excuse the fact that they use deceptive practices at EVERY turn to nickel and dime the customer. A business owner this deceptive and greedy also makes me wonder what kind of corners this place probably cuts when it comes to the food they serve.
