Very traditional American Diner. It's one of those places we'd always drive by and had never tried until last night! All the food is so simple and so delicious. Nothing was over seamed or under seasoned, it all felt *just right* if you know what I mean. Very kind staff, would most certainly come here again!

We enjoyed breakfast at AJs today! Everything was delicious! The service was excellent! We never ran out of coffee or water!

I had breakfast and the pancakes were over the top good! I got those along with an omelette that had some flavor as well. I swear, I'm not trying to over-hype it..but, even my coffee tasted unique and good. I only used 2 cups of cream in it and it was BURSTING with flavor. My orange juice was sooo good and natural and I think I even saw a seed in there 😂 I'm not used to having orange juice strait from a real orange so it was a little tangy but overall I got used to it and loved it. My overall experience was excellent, with good customer service, a clean restroom, quick and fast seating and got my food in a timely manner. The stand out was the pancakes.

This was our first time here. My wife and I got the Campfire Scramble, Swedish Pancakes and Mangy Moose Burger. Everything was really good. Our friend ordered the mushroom, spinach and cheese omlette and it was good too. The servers were nice and attentive and we would definitely come back.

This place has the best Monterey chicken sandwich I have ever tried!! Most of the time I need to ad ketchup to make the sandwich juicier and in this case it was not needed. The chicken is delicious and the veggies really fresh.The waiters are super friendly. I would say the only little thing is that the coleslaw could have more pizzazz but in general it was pretty good.

Service and food came out fast. Looked good on the plate. I had the quarter back special, eggs, spinach, bacon, onions and cheese with country potatoes. The eggs were good, however the potatoes had been parboiled., which I understand is necessary to cook quickly. However they were barely grilled for the order. After we returned home both my spouse and I were sick. I can attribute it to the meal we just consumed. I don’t think they clean the grill that they prepare food on very often. We used to like dining here, however after this episode we won’t return. Too bad, as there are limited options for breakfast in turlock. That why we have to travel out of town. This is an update of my previous review. We decided to give AJ’s another chance for breakfast. We dined here on Feb. 21 and this time we weren’t disappointed and we both felt fine the rest of the day. I ordered the Portugese skillet;, chopped linguica, scrambled eggs, cheddar cheese, potatoes. The portion was large and prepared well( the potatoes were grilled). My husband had pancakes and they were light and fluffy. Server was friendly and we received our coffee and meal quickly. I’m changing my stars to 4 out of 5. Thanks for the improvement AJ’s! We will return for breakfast again.

Excellent!! Took my brother here for his birthday. I live 3 hrs away an told my brother to pick any place, he chose AJs!! Went on a Sunday at lunch time, the place was packed!! And for good reason. The wait staff so friendly an efficient! The food very appealing an arranged so nice. The taste, oh my goodness, so flavorful. I had the French dip, it was so flavorful, mouthwatering Delicious!! I will most definitely stop here every time I visit Turlock.

I was in Turlock and had some time before my appt. I texted a friend who lives in Turlock and gave me great suggestions for dinner in the past and she was spot-on. I got lost finding A J's even with an app giving me directions. I got there around 9am, inside was half full - a good sign! After being seated, I was asked what I would like to drink. When my water was deliivered the wait staff had their whole hand on the top of the cup - eww. Ya, I could have asked for a straw blah, blah, blah. I looked at the menu - lots to choose from. I was eyeing the Portugese Platter until my eyes scrolled down and saw the Swedish Deluxe Combo. The Swedish Deluxe Combo has 2 Swedish cakes, two eggs and two bacon (I opted for links) and asked for a side of spuds. Less than 10 minutes later my food arrived. I moved my two links and sunny side up eggs onto the spuds and left the two Swedish cakes by themselves on the plate. Let me tell you, those spuds were good! The Swedish cakes were thin and didn't leave me feeling heavy especailly since i left nothing on my plates. Eat here!

Server was overwhelmed and could barely contain her annoyance when improperly cooked food was pointed out. If they can't cook delicate fish it shouldn't be on the menu. I still tipped close to 50% cause I'm not a heathen but it's a good thing I don't live near by because I'm not coming back. The girl at the register (not my server) couldn't look at me or interact with me in a civil or friendly manner as I was paying to leave. If your looking for rude service and sloppy improperly cooked food this place is perfect.

Extremely rude to trans people and they make it blatant. Server kept giving us dirty looks, slammed our drinks on the table, and kept ignoring us even though it was very clear we were ready to order. She was standing around talking to the cook, or cleaning tables, while every couple min looking at us with a dirty look that's how I know she was deliberately ignoring us. We had our menus at the edge of the table there's no way she couldn't tell we were ready. Just wish I had her name so I could call her out directly. If this is the kind of behavior this place allows from their workers, can expect I'll never come here again. And if you're trans yourself, avoid this place at all costs.

Got our food cold, ask to warm it came back cold again. Way over priced for the amount of food served order the biscuits and gravy ask if it had sausage or bacon in the gravy waitress said yes sausage when it came it was plain white gravy with salt and pepper. Worst food we ever had. Personally I won't be going back not worth a 50.00 bill for sure. Will not be recommending anyone there. Huckleberry and Dennys serve better food and no where near those high prices .
