We had meant to stop at the location beside here. However, we decided to try it. We weren’t sure what to expect and wasn’t impressed with the atmosphere on a Tuesday night. But we’re we surprised! The food was delicious. I had fish and chips that were excellent. Typically, they are more greasy. These were light and fluffy! Almost like I’d experienced in Ireland. Food was very good. The bartender was attentive and super friendly. Highly recommend!

When visiting Tyler, TX, a meal at Clear Springs Restaurant is a must! This is a locally-owned establishment nostalgically decorated with yesterday-year paraphernalia with an emphasis on fishing gear and other items found in the great outdoors. The restaurant specializes in seafood and touts its onion rings. Of course, there are plenty of other options from burgers to steaks, as well as various meatless items. The chips and salsa are a recommended starter - the salsa is made fresh on premise (remember, you're in Texas, so it will bring the heat!). I had the grilled salmon, and this ranks among the best I've had anywhere (which is saying a lot!). Highly recommended! The salmon has a very tasty sauce and is served with green beans and steamed rice - it was so good! Portions are a good size, so you can finish a meal and feel full without hating yourself later. Of course, you can always get a to-go box, but you'll probably make sure there's no leftovers. A full bar is the next room over from the dining area, which features a wide variety of spirits, beer, and wine. You'll find something that suits you. The staff is friendly and conversational - always ensuring you are happy and satisfied. There is plenty of parking, and the entrance is handicapped accessible.

The atmosphere was good felt comfortable, and the server was very attentive. On to the food now, the chicken fried chicken was spot on. I’ve never had a chicken fried chicken that’s had the crispiness this one had the mash potatoes were very creamy. The chicken queso was full of flavor cooked perfectly the rice was not mushy, veggies were perfect as well nothing was over cooked. The Kids grilled cheese is the same average grilled cheese you can get anywhere. Appetizer was very good, we also got a key lime pie but I didn’t take a picture it was one of the best key limes we’ve had so far.

Great place for local favorites. Texas comfort food. Surprisingly a good selection of seafood. I wasn't impressed with the Chicken Fried Steak but the Grill Chicken dish was really good. Fried okra tasted great! The appetizer was awesome! We will be back to try the seafood options. There are a few selections that are grilled and most places in Tyler offer alot of Fried options.

This is not based on any one trip to the restaurant but on many because it is one of our favorites for a nice reasonable priced meal that is always good.

This review is for the chicken fried steak only. I ate at the Tyler, TX location on 11/11/25; the food was served about 4:15. The cf steak appeared to be a processed frozen patty, a perfect oval shape with a very thin, flat coating. It had a very odd taste like freezer burn or old cooking oil. I was a guest and did not pay myself so I didn’t feel comfortable saying anything. This is the worst tasting piece of meat I have ever eaten. I have had the fried shrimp twice before which was great but both times the side of beans was lukewarm.

Chowder was creamy, but too watery . Coleslaw was awful. Waiter was awesome . Everything else good. Except unable to tip waiter properly, because they do not break $100 bills. Which is a failure . This is a restaurant, not a gas station. To be competitive you need to make change. The owner can get change and store change like every store does. If the owner has an accountant, they are paid to MAKE change. Perhaps it's my fault for not bringing enough change, but I cannot know ahead of time whether a restaurant will refuse bills when no restaurant I've been to prior has.
