I went very early in the morning around 3am and there was no one there but the staff and maybe a couple that came in after I did. Service was quick but the orange juice was like 5 dollars. Food was filling. Would recommend it .

I'm fascinated with this I-Hop. The last time I went, I was very disappointed. The service was terrible. The waitress even yelled at me because I told her she'd gotten my order wrong. But... I went back last Sunday, and believe me, I barely waited for my table. There are more employees now, and EVERYONE is really friendly, very attentive, and truly makes you feel welcome. A big round of applause for the staff. I highly recommend it. You'll be very well taken care of. It's located in Union City, CA 94587 (Union Landing).

This has been truly a great and one of the best experience today. At 8:00PM 7/14/19 all the staff members keeps a great positive vibe and the service is outstanding. The food looks neat and for the price it comes with, it’s more than worth it. It has become an outstanding experience and I can’t possibly ask anything more out of it. I haven’t been to an IHOP in a very long time, but this was a great reintroduction. My friends and I were up very early and decided that we really wanted some pancakes, headed down to this IHOP specifically so we could go and see a matinee movie right afterwards. We were both surprised to see just how full the parking lot was. Thankfully, this area has so many stores in it that the parking lot is quite large, but that wasn’t even a problem because we were easily able to park right by the building. Though I would say their restaurant was about 75% full when we arrived, we were still able to be quickly seated and order our food. If anything, we took a little bit of a longer time just because we didn’t know how many things I have had updated and we’re looking through everything. They have breakfast tacos now! Anyway, I ordered a basic breakfast, pancakes, eggs, sausage, and hashbrowns and my friend ordered strawberry cheesecake, pancakes, and an omelette. The food came out very quickly. I wanna say we had about three people who were helping us, I think the three of them were all working in the section that they gave us and they had a nice rotation of someone bringing us water someone bringing our food someone checking in on us, and all three of them making sure that we were all good with How the food taste. Even as the restaurant hit 100% full, it never felt like there wasn’t someone who would immediately come and check in on us. I think we were there for about an hour in total, and most of that was just because we were sitting and talking and not eating. It seemed like a lot of families were also there, which was nice to see.

As always, an exceptional menu full of tasty eats. This particular location is busy, busy, busy all day and most of the evening so wait times for a table are longish. Depending on the server, this means a longish wait time for basics (coffee, utensils) so recommend keeping ur humor and rolling within since the food is worth the wait. Plenty of parking, well-maintained and clean.

I have been to a decent amount of IHOPs. Some are not great. It was a pleasant surprise when the place was clean , the server was amazing, we had 2 employees check on us food was hot and yummy. I would recommend this IHOP to anyone.

The meal was excellent, no problems there, and our waiter was absolutely perfect. But, when we were eating, we were hearing some waitresses and another waiter were chatting and laughing towards the back of the dining area, and they definitely were not subtle about it, and it was a little distracting to our conversations. I would give the experience a 4 and not a 3 solely because our waiter was very helpful with us. We would still eat here, when we come down to visit family.

Was great not to see large waiting crowds. The manager and young man at front desk were doing a great job on taking names and greeting customers. The servers were under staffed and very busy, making that part of dinning a bit not so nice experience, but the manager kept coming around checking on tables to bring coffee, helping with whatever was missing and making it better. Food was ok.

Place is slow at 1pm and we got seated immediately. Waitress were attentive to us and took our orders and we got our drinks soon after. The food came in in a short time. Pretty satisfied with the waitress and their service and the cook's food; then again, it was during their slow business, so I would like to try them out again when it's packed.

Food was ok, served cold on several occasions. They only have 1 waitress and it seems that every time you need something, she isn't around or she's helping someone else, so alot of sitting around waiting as your food continues to get even colder. I can't enjoy a meal out when you have to constantly have to hunt down the waitress because she forgot to bring you one thing or another.

First time on this location. We went on a Sunday and the waiting was 1omins. Service and food was great. But after eating our delicious food I had to use the bathroom and right when I open the door there's this horrible smell. It took me less than 1min to use the toilet and had to get out of there as fast as I could because the smell was so bad that it almost made me puke. It's like a raw sewage smell. Service is good, food is fine, utensils could be better cleaned! The chicken is pretty good and the pancakes are pretty meh. Chicken is well seasoned and moist and crisp, the ranch is full of flavor and is a good compliment to it. Walkouts are rampant here, so waitstaff give you the check pretty early but say there is no rush. Often when I come here the utensils are soiled with some sticky food that needs to be scrubbed off, rather than just hot water pressure blasted.

This iHop has deteriorated as years gone by. Not the quality and experience when I was taking my kids to IHop years ago. Fast forward and we are here with our 5 yr old granddaughter. Food was mediocre but not bad. Service manager was attentive and genuinely concerned everything was OK..she saved our experience as the waitress did not present a friendly manner(hope it's not her regular demeanor)..the 55+ menu is 50% less food at a 40% reduction in price..eg breakfast sampler 19.99 > 11.99

We went in for an afternoon brunch. When we arrived, it was a little bit busy, but that was kind of expected for Saturday. We got sat right away in a booth and we were greeted by her server. Everything started pretty nicely. I think the best part for me is that they allow you to keep the whole container of coffee. If you do order one, which as a coffee lover is glorious. We both ordered omelets. My husband had Colorado and I order the steak omelet, but I thought it was kind of weird that when I asked for certain things not to be on the inside and be put on the side, it was not accommodated. I was charged as an extra item instead of an individual item, that was already part of my meal. It was delicious but our server never got us water as we waited and waited for her to return. And she never returned. I eventually had to get up and walk to the kitchen and ask one of the servers there to water to my table. That's obviously when the service went down, the food is pretty consistent. So I am always going to be an IHOP fan, but the service is never the best but it's a hit-and-miss in service

Not enough servers, wait long when tables empty

Arrived at 5pm and it's slow. Disturb why we had to wait to be seated when the place is not full, half of the restaurant was empty. As we got seated 5 mins later nobody came by to take our order. I had to flag some one to find out who is working this section. Lucky she took our order and now we're waiting again till our food arrive. I would never come here again. My order was hot and right. As for my friend he was disappointed because he ordered clam chowder and they didn't have any, after she delivers our food. She should of told us before had so he can decide in something else and not when she's delivering the food. Found out our server/hostess was 3 days new to the restaurant. She definitely needs more training and someone shadowing over her. I've watched her while waiting during my visit. She needs more training.

They brought a basket of silverware, but only enough for 2. We asked for more, but they said there was none. We waited a good while for our food, but weren't upset. My friends received their breakfast. I had ordered Eggs Benedict, and was told it would be right out. After 10 min., we asked about it. The waiter checked and said it would be right up. Ultimately, we made 4 requests. By the time I got my breakfast, my friends had finished theirs. I finally got mine, but as I cut into it, realized the egg yokes were hard. When I pointed it out, they offered to make me another, but I didn't want to make my friends wait any longer. I ate it without the eggs. When the manager, who had finally brought my dish out, came by to check, we pointed out what happened, they ended up giving me my breakfast for free.

We went a group of Nannie’s with our babies between 18 months and 3yo and I ask for a table for 10 and the manager doesn’t want to allow us to seat until everyone was there, of course the kids started to play with the Christmas decorations and they were stressing a little and the manager continued saying we can’t seat until everyone was there. We were 7 at the restaurant and the others 3 were on their way. The manager were so rude and she said we can be seated because if someone ask for that table they have it available and the restaurant was not even at half capacity. What the ?? happened to this place when I was there 2 weeks ago. There only a few people there in the middle of the afternoon on the day that I went. Even though so few people were there I had to wait at every phase of the visit. Before I was seated I had to wait about 10 or 15 minutes even though there was only a few people in the restaurant dining. Then it took another 20 minutes before someone brought me a menu. I was ready to order within a few minutes but there was a 25 minute wait for me to be able to get my order taken.

I bought the lemon ricotta pancakes for to go and they were missing the blueberries, lemon and the cream. I am so disappointed because I was so excited to try them. Whenever I go to dine there everything is great. I am not sure what happened today. I even made sure to double check my order and it was ordered correctly. :(

Four tables three waiters. Waited 15 minutes to place an order another 12 minutes for coffee. One waiter talked to a table until way after our meal was served. The service was horrific. No one smiled. I felt as though I should apologize to them for having to wait on our table of two.

Horrible Service. My husband and I got skipped on being seated twice. It took 40+min for our food and our table was not checked up on at all after finally getting our order. We waited for our server to bring us refills on our drinks the whole time we were there and she never came even after we signaled her. It was upsetting because they have a written sign up about having too many walk outs, trust me, waiting for as long as we did just to leave we wanted to walk out as well. No one would come check on the table and we even had our plates stacked just waiting. It wasn't until a different server had the courtesy to ask if we needed anything, he brought me a refill and the check -again after waiting a long time for our server that never came back-.

The restaurant extremely dirty and was empty except for two tables being taken. Floor was filthy with food all over. There was a huge spider crawling up along the wall next to our table. I came to the store and no one at front. I patiently waiting for 15 minutes, then after 20 minutes , I asked the waitress and she told me right away that she's busy. I just left my breakfast behind at IHOP. The server, Antwone, turned what might have been only a normally-bad breakfast into a deeply uncomfortable experience. First, someone messed up my boyfriend's order. He ordered some kind of fancy french toast combo. I had the build your own omelette. He ordered coffee and hot chocolate and I ordered tea. When the food came out, his was pancakes and his meat order was wrong. The deputy server brought back cinnamon french toast and that was also wrong. Finally my boyfriend got the fancy fruit french toast, but it was just blueberry syrup with a few blueberries scattered on, which was not what the description said. My omelette was basically a big, thin "crepe" made out of egg with a few halves of cherry tomatoes and a tiny bit of cheese folded in, some more ham and cheese on top, and a few shards of bruised avocado. I thought, "I paid $2.69 for this avocado?" It was the worst omelette that I'd had in forever. I ate two bites. Some five minutes later my toast came out studded with avocado--I'm guessing they cut my toast with the veggie prep knife. When Antwone came to check on us, and we told him about the mix-up, the worst part happened. Antwone went off on a tirade about how much the cooks sucked, and that this was the "thirtieth to thirty-fifth mistake" that people had complained to him about since he started working there 3-4 months ago. He said that this IHOP was a franchise and that the owners, Jerry and Karen, didn't give a damn about the restaurant and let the standards of food prep and service slide. He said he was leaving soon and he encouraged us to leave Yelp and Google reviews. He continued ranting about this IHOP for several minutes as my boyfriend and I sat silently, increasingly uncomfortable. Finally my boyfriend interrupted him and asked him for a spoon and Antwone went off to get it, then resumed his rant for another several minutes when he returned. Once Antwone was gone, my boyfriend and I discussed leaving immediately. We got boxes. I left the omelette and the toast, but he packed up the french toast. We went to the front to pay. There were two girls working the front register, but Antwone followed us up to the front, pushed the girls out of the way, and cashed us out himself. He did remove my omelette "even if it got him in trouble" because he had also removed the hot chocolate that we never received and he comped my boyfriend's coffee for the mix-up. I felt deeply uncomfortable having him as the person who rang us up. I can't imagine that anyone has ever sat Antwone down and told him not to rant at customers about how he felt about his job. Although I agree that the kitchen messed up mightily and that the franchise owners do need to step in and address the problems at this restaurant, I disagree that I should have been subjected to a five-plus minute rant while I am trying to enjoy a peaceful morning with my boyfriend. The entire experience was horrible and we will never be returning to this IHOP again. We were check #151667834.

I was enjoying my food and I saw the waiter harass a bunch of kids. Two of them have a tip while there was one who said he couldn’t and she was mad. She looked at him really mad and he explained he didn’t work and and that he apologizes he can’t. Then she said when my kids go out I as a better parent give them money to tip. It was a really sad moment because she should’ve been a better person and understood instead of being rude and saying that’s why we don’t like to serve you

It was a long wait to get the table assigned and get the food. I understand that it was short staff, but the manager should step in and assist the only waiter on duty which did a fantastic job! I gave 1 star for the management team who failed to accommodate customers in front in which I believe the importance of running a restaurant.

worst ihop. i came for brkfst and the place looks closed. 2 waiter serving the whole place. very slow service. bad waiter. took forever to get food and service.

I ordered a spinach and mushroom omelet for delivery, and it's the saddest omelette I've ever seen. The liquid tasted like half cooked egg, not cheese. And cheese wouldn't stay melted like that after a drive. It felt like I was eating soggy spinach and tomatoes covered in an undercooked over easy egg. I've never seen an omelette with so little egg before. It was so gross I never want to eat an omelette again lmao. Expected better from IHOP.

The service was severely understaffed. I specifically requested no dairy products, yet they still appeared on my table.

Never got sat. Waited to be sat for over 15 min and no one acknowledged us. The 2 waitresses working completely ignored us. Another couple who was waiting before us got fed up and left. One man was waiting to pay the entire time we were waiting and no one was acknowledging him. We were visiting from out of state but came here 10 years ago and it was awful then and it's still bad.

Do not eat here ,they have roaches. I went to sit down at a bench seat and a roach crawled out from underneath the bench top and crawled across the bench and when I told the server that there's a roach she just left it there and told me that she'll give us a different seat with another roach in it

Philly CheeseSteak 👎🏼 The meat was partly cold, no flavor and the bread was kind of soggy. The food was not worth the price charged. Will not be returning.

Wow what a horrible experience at this location. I have never received such had service at this location until now. Pilar was so rude and passive aggressive. She needs to work on her attitude and provide better guest service. The service definitely has gone downhill from here. We were only given plastic forks and knives to eat our food with. What restaurant does that?! I would try a different restaurant or the ihop in Newark.

Everything came out freezing cold and the pancakes were rubber, the sausage were very undercooked, my coke was flat and warm, but the waitress was very understanding. She apologized immensely.

Horrible service from the moment you walk into restaurant! 4 employees & 1 cook with no acknowledgement for 10 mins. I wanted to feed my grandsons some breakfast. Never again!

The wait staff is wonderful but the kitchen needs to be better managed. Guests who arrived after my table were served long before we were. Our food didn’t come out around the same time leaving some guests waiting too long while others were almost done. The food was bland. When speaking with management, she needlessly blamed our server/waiter instead of taking full responsibility and realizing that the restaurant operations are simply subpar. I won’t return.

O stars. They got roaches yall. My favorite place. Ive been going there forever. Since they changed supervisors, they went downhill but i kept going. Unfortunately, that came to an end when there was a roach on my plate. They need to close and call an externiantor and then reopen. Thats all im asking for. I have a video as well if yall think im lying. It did not give me option to put picture up for this review.

Wish I could give zero stars. Visited late night August 23rd. Place was understaffed and a mess. Our group of four just was starting to eat our food when we spotted roaches. As we got up and scrambled out of the way, we saw even more roaches. The waitress admitted that they know this has been a problem and they’ve had difficulty with ongoing pest control. Disgusting.

From the moment we walked in, it was clear this IHOP does not meet even basic cleanliness standards. We were seated at a table with torn seats and dirty surfaces. The wall touching our table was covered in sticky messes — dried ketchup, syrups, and other residue. I had to ask the waitress to clean it, which is something that should’ve already been done. Dust and cobwebs covered nearby dividers. We specifically told the waitress not to include any pork, but the kitchen repeatedly failed to follow this. The first plate came with long hairs hanging from the food — completely unacceptable. The next item, a chicken biscuit sandwich, arrived with bacon. We returned it. Finally, we received a mushroom omelet, which we started eating — only to later discover pieces of ham inside. The waitress confirmed it was their mistake. This is not just poor service — it’s a serious food safety issue and a violation of religious dietary restrictions. I felt nauseated afterward. I’ve submitted a formal complaint to the Alameda County Health Department. I hope they inspect this location soon. Until then, I strongly recommend avoiding this restaurant.

This used to be my go to place for breakfast. The last two times I was there the service and food have gone downhill! The last time was the worst. I ordered strawberry cheesecake pancakes. They were not made as described on the menu. When I inquired with my server, one of three that day, why were these not as described I was told that cheesecake bits were in the pancakes. I told her I could not taste it, and that these were not cheesecake pancakes. The server brought me one side of cream cheese to put in between my pancakes myself. Just rude and definitely not professional. Also, the bathrooms were being cleaned at the time and the cleaning solution was quite strong! I have found a new breakfast spot who knows how to treat their customers.

This is my second and last visit here . Yesterday I went with group of friends and right from server till the food it had been unpleasant experience.We checked the online thingy which says the kids eat free but they happily denied it as they said it’s not valid in their location so we ordered bunch of burgers along with vanilla milk shake. The quality of milk shake was so degraded that it was extremely sweet for the kid to have it and even after repeated comments on it , server mentioned they will provide something else in place of it and after few minutes her manager denied that request as well. The customer feedback is not taken in account and the way server behaved was unimaginable. We are never visiting this location again where customer feedback is not considered and specially the kids one.
