I'm surprised I haven't written a review for this place yet. I have lived nearby for almost a decade, and haven't really gotten to appreciate this place. I have previously only visited once or twice to try some of their sandwiches, but I was finally able to give their other food a try, and its amazing! If you have not tried their Broasted Chicken, or in house potato salad or cole slaw, give it a try! I guess before talking about the food, I do also want to say that this business has also adapted to the pandemic of COVID, and it feels safe to visit here with the 6 foot distance in the line, and the staff wearing masks. Food Like i said before, I have tried their sandwich before, particularly the hot meatball sub. I would say the meatball itself was pretty good, but i believe there just wasn't enough sauce. I could also understand that if they were to put too much, the sandwich may get quite soggy by the time you are able to eat it. Maybe I could ask for a side of the marinara in the future? What i want to cover is these items! Broasted Chicken - wow the fried chicken I usually order from KFC, Popeyes, Churches feel so oily and unhealthy compared to this. Not only did it feel less "unhealthy" but it was packed with flavor and great contrast of the crisp of the skin. Just writing this makes me want to order another batch!\ This comes usually with some sides like the cole slaw, the broasted potato's as well as the rolls. You could swap it out for the potato salad if you wish. They have different sizes and you can choose from as small as 8 pieces to as much as 24 pieces for the order. Of course the larger amount of chicken, the more sides there is. Cant wait to see what else they have here that are signature items. Expect to visit real

Have not been here in more than 2 years so thought we would try it again. Meat ball sandwich and a sub was our lunch. Both great and on the exact bread they should be on. Crunchy on the outside squishy inside.the sub had a great pickle in it. Pepsi soda machine and unsweetened ice tea. Loads of salads and pickles. Not crowded.

Had the Brooklyn bridge grinder and the Italian pasta salad.... the sandwich was solid. The taste was good not a fan of the bread, and could use a lil less green peppers. But overall a good sandwich. The pasta salad was ok needs more seasoning for my taste. The girl who helped me was excellent being that it was my first time as a patron. She walked me thru the menu and was very knowledgeable. I’ll definitely b returning to try the fried chicken.

This place has the best chicken. It's very juicy. Also had a sandwich. The Meats were very good too. We really enjoyed the potatoe salad, macaroni salad, and the coleslaw. They are good enough by itself.

From the moment we arrived, we felt right at home, greeted by an "awesome old face" who kindly opened the gate for us – a delightful touch that set the tone for the evening. The positive interactions continued with the young woman who took our order, whose "very good attitude" and the overall well-behaved and "nice" demeanor of the staff made for a truly pleasant visit. The culinary journey at D'Onza's has its definite highlights. The house-made salad is indeed "special" and a refreshing start to the meal. For pizza lovers, the "test is good" and the "cheese is testy" (tasty!), delivering on flavor. However, be warned: even a medium pizza is "too large for two people," so plan accordingly or prepare for delicious leftovers! To complement your meal, D'Onza's offers a selection of "beer, wine" to help you "have a good time," further enhancing the relaxed and inviting atmosphere. While much of the experience was exceptional, there was one minor stumble: the "very oily two piece chicken" was a disappointment and is "not recommended." Despite this small setback, D'Onza's Old World Deli stands out for its exceptional service, charming ambiance, and generally delicious offerings. It's a place that makes you feel valued and leaves you with a warm glow, making it a highly recommended spot for a satisfying and welcoming dinner out.

Food was pretty good. I had the chicken salad sandwich. My partner had the pastrami. A solid 3/5. I have a feeling I will like their desserts more. They were visually pleasing so I will return to try them.

Initially going inside the place looks kind of small but once you adjust you realize there is a lot of seating on the side. The deli meats are very good. Our visit consisted of the old world club which was generously packed with meat. Followed by the roast beef sandwich which was also packed with meat. Flavor wise the food was delicious. We also had dessert which was very dense but flavorful. The price is fair for the amount of ingredients they pack especially this 2024 inflation. I will definitely stop by again. I would highly suggest you ask for the daily specials. In our visit we had the old world chili which was very hearty and perfect for the cold weather

⭐⭐ D’Onza’s Old World Deli — A Culinary Plot Twist I Wasn’t Ready For Let me begin with the star of the entire establishment:The man at the counter deserves a standing ovation, a raise, and possibly his own holiday.His customer service was so good it almost distracted me from what happened next. Almost. 🍝 Spaghetti & Meatballs Before ordering, I asked a very important question:“Is this kid spaghetti and meatballs or adult spaghetti and meatballs?”Because there is a massive difference. Kid spaghetti is sweet, simple, and innocent. Adult spaghetti should have depth, seasoning, and a sense of purpose. He confidently told me it was adult spaghetti. Well… the portion size was adult, but the flavor was absolutely kid spaghetti.The meatballs were ginormous, but the taste was giving: “I’m a toddler and I only eat red sauce if it tastes like ketchup.” The noodles were sitting in water like they were on a spa retreat, and when I bit into the meatball, there were ice chips. Actual ice. In a meatball. I didn’t know my dinner came with a built‑in snow day. He reheated it and added more noodles and meatballs, which was kind…but the flavor stayed stuck in elementary school. 🍕 Pizza The pizza tasted exactly like something you’d get at a cheap, slightly sticky arcade, where the games barely work and the carpet has seen things it can never unsee. 🍰 Cheesecake He promised it was amazing.My taste buds said, “This cheesecake has been through a lot emotionally.” 🥐 Cannoli Looked cute. Tasted like a pastry that clocked out early. 🍗 The Famous Chicken They brag about this one.It arrived hot enough to scorch our tongues, yet somehow had the flavor profile of warm air. No seasoning. No personality. Just vibes. 🧄 Garlic Cheese Bread This was the best‑tasting item we had… until I noticed fingerprints pressed into the cheese like someone was checking its heartbeat. 🍋 The Winner The bottled lemonade.Not made by them.Not touched by them.Not cooked by them.Coincidence? I don’t think so. Final Thoughts I’m not saying don’t go. They clearly have loyal customers, a wide menu, and a staff member who deserves a trophy. Maybe we ordered the wrong dishes.Maybe the food tastes better if you’re tipsy.Maybe the kitchen was having an off day.Maybe the seasoning took the day off and never came back. But for me, the food was shockingly bland, under‑seasoned, and in some cases, poorly prepared. If you have high blood pressure, this might actually be your new safe haven, because there is no seasoning anywhere — not even on the pizza. The saddest part is that the service was phenomenal. I genuinely didn’t have the heart to tell him the food tasted like a culinary dare. I hope the kitchen levels up, because he deserves a menu that matches his energy Ps for the record, I take amazing photos. Yes, it looks better than it tasted. I do want you to keep in mind. The service was great. This is a Delhi like on many grocery store. As well, I don't want you not to go. Try for yourself. You might like it just because I didn't. Don't mean you won't either.

I’m giving this place 3 stars mainly because the prices just don’t feel justified. I’m from D.C., where there’s a small mom-and-pop Italian deli very similar to this one — honestly even better — and their pricing is unbeatable. You can get a 12-inch meatball or Italian sub for $6.99, which keeps customers coming back. Here, while the food is good, the portion size and cost don’t match up. Charging this much for a 6–8 inch sub just doesn’t make sense. And if the explanation is that ingredients are “imported,” that’s not really an excuse — the deli in D.C. imports their ingredients too and still manages to stay affordable. Good food, but the value just isn’t there.

Solid 3; most of the ppl coming here are sweet grandpas and grandmas. The sandwich was well-packed with meat but quite underwhelming given the high reviews. I feel like I could have made it at home with little effort. The desserts were overpriced fs. Great if u wanna support a mom n pop shop w solid classics, not-so-great if u don’t have older-inclined tastebuds or want something more bougie.
