One of the best American style breakfast In Adirondack. Loved their omelette and choice of breads with home fries. Their trouts are also amazing. We visited on weekend and wait time was also 30-45 mins for outdoor patio siting but it was worth to wait. The view from the patio is great.

The only disappointment is that we can't go EVERY DAY!! This place is fantastic—an American breakfast diner at the height of its craft. The french toast was hearty, the eggs cooked perfectly, the coffee was delicious, and the sausage and bacon were incredible. The service was excellent despite being incredibly busy and all the staff friendly and engaging. Honestly so sad to leave this hidden gem!

Adirondack Mountain Cafe is a go-to breakfast spot if you are anywhere nearby. I've eaten here a number of times. Simple dishes are good and cheap, more complicated dishes are good and still pretty darn cheap! It's not a fast place, don't expect to be in and out the way you might be at a diner. But the wait is worth it! I recommend the key west open face omelette and the breakfast sandwich done on a biscuit. My kids often get the French toast which I enjoying snagging a bite of! The coffee is excellent. When I come, I tend to buy a bag or two of beans for my own use at home.

Great service and big portions for a good price. We even decided to come here 3 days in a row. Highly recommend!

The absolute sweetest little restaurant. Delicious food. My son got the trout and eggs and could not have been happier. Don’t miss if in the area. Good coffee and pastries were a bonus.

The staff is friendly and efficient . I love the poached eggs on an English muffin, with Canadian bacon and creamed spinach. They make perfect bacon and eggs. The coffee is awesome! They have homemade jams, jellies, and pastries . When in the area we get all our breakfasts there. Wish they were nearby.

We found this restaurant the first day of our vacation from NC and ate breakfast there 4 out of 5 mornings. Their coffee, which they roast on location, was delicious! Everything was farm fresh and included real butter, homemade bread and jam and real maple syrup. With the large picture windows, friendly staff and good food, it was a perfect start to our day.

Very good!!! First time. Sourdough French Toast is amazing!

This place always wins with good food, reasonable prices, great baked items, and a history of being one of the most veteran friendly establishments in the area. They roast their own coffee, and it's quite good. My only gripe: the televisions and music playing--in an environment that is often already jam-packed, the extra noise is unwelcome.

The Adirondack Mountain Cafe has been open for roughly 5 years. I've driven by many times but never had a chance to stop and eat. Now that we did, we will definitely stop again. We had the Fisherman's breakfast which consisted of fried trout, 2 eggs, toast, home fries and a slice of homemade apple pie. Come hungry, we couldn't eat it all. The food and service were excellent. The wait staff was friendly and very attentive. Did I mention that they roast their own coffee. The coffee was fantastic and you can buy whole bean coffee to take home. Highly recommended. We will definitely stop again.

The service is incredible, these 3 women have it together! The food exceptional and a great value, breakfast & lunch. Really the best blueberry pancakes I have ever had. The coffee, roasted there yum, with a selection of beans or ground to take home. I make,a better apple pie but that's my only criticism. Best place!!!!

J

This was honestly the best breakfast I’ve had in a long time! I got the fisherman’s platter, a full trout breaded and cooked to perfection along with a lime and orange, two eggs, toast and delicious baked home fries. Trout was delicious, reminded me of catching and cooking trout as a kid! And the presentation of the meal was outstanding for such a reasonable price. Coffee is excellent and served in their quality coffee mugs that they also have for sale. Staff was very friendly and professional as well! Don’t miss out on this place if you’re in the area, it’s a hidden gem! Will definitely be coming back!

Fantastic Adirondack Diner with great food options from trout, to pancakes, and buiscuts with gravy. They truly have a bit of everything here, and the coffee is AMAZING! Since moving to Ausable, this is a staple whenever family or friends come up to visit, or a nice bite to eat on the weekend. It does get a bit busy during the summer/fall tourist season, so make sure you stop in early rather than later in the day.

Outstanding breakfast food. The best in the Adirondacks. There is a reason this place is always busy. The coffee is outstanding. Love it here. Service was excellent. I always stop here when I am in the area.

Our party of 6 came in here around 12pm on a Sunday, the place was packed so we ordered our food to go. The server Lynzey was very sweet and accommodating to us even though she clearly had her hands full. The breakfast wrap that I ordered was HUGE and delicious! Thank you for such great service, incredible food with amazing views even from the parking lot!

Had breakfast here and it was wonderful! Sat outside and enjoyed delicious coffee, a great view, and even better food! The servers were very friendly and hardworking - they were swamped and still gave us great, attentive service. I’ll be eating here anytime I’m in the area!

Went to breakfast here today. First, we purchased some cinnamon rolls and scones, to have at home later this week. Got seated right away. Good service and the best meal we've had since coming here on Saturday. Portions are large, and food was delicious! I had an omelet, which was very fluffy and good. My daughter had a breakfast sandwich, which she said was very tasty. I would recommend this place for breakfast!

M

Absolutely awesome! We stopped here after a hike and after we couldn't find anything else open on a Friday for lunch. The menu offered breakfast and lunch. The tuna sandwich was delicious and fresh. The fries were perfect. The portions were huge so you don't have to worry about leaving hungry. Our server was kind and friendly. We got some baked goods to-go and the berry muffin was the best I've ever had in my life. I'm going to stop back on my way out of town just to buy more.

Our family ate here for breakfast and lunch on different days. Both times the service was personable and friendly and the food was excellent. The prices were very reasonable and you get more than expected. This was by far the best restaurant we have eaten at in the area.

I went here for the second time last weekend and it was just as good as I remembered! Great breakfast, you can’t really go wrong with whatever you order. My table had salmon, trout, eggs, French toast, pancakes, cream of wheat, and everyone was very happy with their meals. The service was also exceptional.

Stopped here on a random road trip looking for a small place just like this for lunch. We ate outside on the deck with a very nice view. The staff were very friendly, especially our server. The food was amazing! My wife and I both loved our sandwich, but the home made fries topped it off. This is a small, family run restaurant. I felt like I was a regular there on my only stop. That's how it's done in the north country. Take the trip over from Lake Placid, you won't regret it.

We are from the general area and took a drive today. On our way back, we saw the cafe and decided to give it a try. When we got there they were very busy but seemed tables were clearing out so only had to wait about 10 minutes. It was well worth the wait! The sandwiches were delicious, staff friendly and attentive. They were short staffed but you would have never known it. Very happy with our experience and can’t wait to go back and try their breakfast. Also the cafe is the former Land of Make Believe and that made it even more special as my parents took us there when we were kids.

N

Excellent! Staff was nice, food was delicious, the place was clean and quick service. The biscuits tasted like they came out straight out of the oven. They were perfectly baked with the most amazing tasting gravy. The rest of the food were perfectly cooked, fresh and delicious!! Their lemonade and coffee were great too. It was so good that we took home a souvenir. This has been the best breakfast we've had in a long time. This will be our go to place from now on when we are in the area.

Almost afraid to rate this place but the secret of this great cafe is already out and the filled parking lot proves it! Nice people, fast service and the food is good! Wish they would put in an insulated door as the cold just flows in under.. but until they do, I'll brave the cold! My favorite is their sausage biscuits w/ gravy and their trout! All their soups have been great any time I have ordered also.

Visited this cafe twice, in the last 5 years, and it never disappoints! GREAT breakfast menu using fresh, local ingredients and REAL maple syrup! The staff here are awesome; shout out to our last server Danielle! Get here early if you can. If you appreciate, small batch made, freshly roasted coffee; this place is your place!

Single-handedly the best breakfast in the Adirondacks. And one of the best American style breakfasts i’ve ever had. Including the worlds best cinnamon rolls. I have eaten here 10 times in the last month. That’s not an exaggeration.

Beautiful place for a brunch! One day my wife and I were at the whiteface mountain and we're heading back to the city so we stopped at the near by & the only café which is this and had some sourdough French toast that came with some fresh strawberries and home made syrup! It was just out of the world! We decided to come back for more in a few weeks! When we did we did a mukbang and it was awesome! In the picture you'll see everything. The staff was very accommodating and cordial. Mind you breakfast is only on a Sunday and the line is longgggggggggg.

We stopped there by accident on a Saturday afternoon while on a motorcycle trip. We were looking for a place to get some lunch and we hit the jackpot. We all got lunch even though they said we could also order off the breakfast menu. Everyone really liked their food and the inside and outside seating was very inviting and clean. And we thought the prices were very low for the food we got. They also have different types of coffee and make fudge and doughnuts!! Brought some fudge home and it was creamy and smooth. Wish I had taken a few more pics of the place. Will be back there for sure 👍😀🌞🎉!!!

Excellent food and delicious coffee. Maybe the best sourdough bread I’ve ever had.

B

They have really good food! A delicious sandwich for $6.50? Yes! The fish chowder was tasty. $12 for soup and sandwich is a deal! Our waitress was kind and attentive. My friend got a salad and fries. I stole a few fries and they were really good too. The salad was served in a small bowl which made it impractical to eat, so we asked for a plate. I also have to say the unripe tomato was unappealing, as was the bottom of a bell pepper they threw in there. It's still a place I'll go out of my way to dine at.

Hidden in the mountains, this cafe is a great brunch spot. Everything is made fresh to order and food comes out quickly. Staff is also very sweet and professional. Helped us customizing our sandwiches. Everything about this place is good. Will highly recommended :)

We went as a group and sure the seats took a little while to get but it was worth it. The food was good and the coffee was perfect. I would recommend splitting up big groups so it is easier to get seats. But if you can wait, it is worth it.

We had lunch on the deck--wonderful being outside before it gets too cold. The corn chowder was thick and rich and full of corn and potatoes. The sandwich was delicious with a hearty portion of tasty fries. We will definitely stop by next time we're in the area.

Grabbed breakfast here on a whim. It had about a 30 minute wait, but was worth it. Since we're on vacation, I splurged and got the Hunters 1800 Breakfast. At almost $30, it was worth it! The French toast was amazing, the corned beef has was awesome, and they had some of the best bacon ever! Oh, and it came with a slice of apple pie... My wife at that later for dinner and said it was good. My son and daughter got pancakes, both loved them. My wife got the pumpkin pancakes. She loved them, even though they were slightly undercooked. She still enjoyed them. The coffee was great, and the mugs are awesome. You can buy the mugs too! Update: A year later, and just a good! We went during the week, and had no wait. Everything was just as good as last time, and an excellent, friendly staff just like last time. I highly recommend this place. The only thing I don't recommend is ordering their mugs online. We wanted a couple more after last year, and bought online. They were just tossed in a box, and one sheet of bubble wrap laid on top of the mugs. They weren't wrapped, and they were free to slam into each other. I emailed and sent pictures via their email address for order help. Never got a response. I chalked it up to the people working that day not realizing how to properly pack for shipping. So, I lost on that. It doesn't change how fantastic the food and atmosphere is.

This spot is awesome. We've been looking for more coffee/diner options in the High Peaks region for a while and I will absolutely be happy to go out of my way to come back here in the future. The food is great as is the coffee. For the latter, it is ground and roasted on-prem; it's delicious and served in generous quantities. My son gave the burger "90 hundred million stars". Unfortunately, Google's interface does not allow for a rating that high.

We came to the Cafe for the first time on a long weekend Adk visit on advice from our motel. Ended up eating there the next 2 mornings also! The food was delicious, as well as the coffee. The atmosphere fits exactly into that region. Our server s were so kind, and although busy, they still took there time to make us feel welcome and like friends. Karissa gave a great history of the area which I can remember from childhood before it was a cafe, and Chelsea remembered us from the previous morning and just made us feel like we belonged there. It was one of the best memories from the weekend, and I am so looking forward to returning. The Adk views speak for themselves, but the people who live there are the real pleasure.

EDIT: It was so good the first time, we went back two days later and it was just as good! We were so lucky to have Chelsea as our server again! One of the best breakfasts we’ve ever had. A must go if you’re around! Our server, Chelsea, was wonderful!

This place is a new Must- Go for our regular trips North. We went on a Tuesday around 11:30,there was no wait and we were given both breakfast and lunch menus, and we got things off both menus. Our waitress was outstanding, the food was delicious, and we will definitely be returning!

Great place to grab food, whether traveling through the area or a local regular. Indoor and outdoor seating. Good menu variety. Quick service for us on a Friday morning. I tried the salmon bagel with cream cheese and capers - absolutely phenomenal. I’m very picky with anything seafood & this was an out-of-pocket choice for me, but it was so fresh. I’d get it again. My partner had a skillet and added the gravy. Rye bread was notably delicious. Coffee was decent. Overall great experience and would come again.

I just realized after years of going to the Adirondack Mountain coffee Café. I’ve never really posted a review. So today I know I needed a good breakfast because I had to manually machete down some trees in my partner in crime yard. So I ordered the farmers bowl which comes on a plate not in a bowl because apparently it’s too big for a bowl which does make me happy. I added a side of avocado mash, and Home fries and sausage wings because I said I had a busy day ahead of me. The food was fresh and tasty and I forgot to say I had a cup of coffee, which is always very good since coffee is in the name of the café. On the way out, somebody had brought out some fresh pineapple and cheese danishes so I got one of those and an iced coffee to go for my mandatory break from work. I definitely recommend going to the Adirondack Mountain coffee Café if you’re in the area.

They were very busy, but you’d never know it—service was smoother than a jazz sax solo. Food came out fast, tasted like a hug from a grandma who can really cook. Patio seating was so peaceful. I’d eat here again in a heartbeat.

Driving by and I always see a lot of cars here so I stopped for breakfast. DELICIOUS! Nice strong coffee, the omlett was HUGE! Very tasty...I had the vegetarian with ham because I wanted the vegetables, rye toast with raspberry jam, coffee and water. The omlett was so big I couldn't eat it all so it will be breakfast for tomorrow. Small café with 5-2 seat tables and 6-4 seat tables, it is seat yourself. They also sell their coffee and have the roaster in the dining room. It's a busy place so you know the food is good! Homemade jam in plastic cups. My server was Kyla, she was very friendly and efficient. Very cozy and clean, quaint atmosphere.

On our last day visiting the Lake Placid area we stopped at Adirondack Mountain Coffee Cafe for breakfast. What a gem of a place! The breakfast that is being served here is absolutely leaps and bounds ahead of everyone else in the region. Their breakfast is made fresh using quality ingredients and the French toast is insanely out of this world delicious. You can taste the difference in quality compared to other restaurants in the area. Their omelettes are fluffy and full of flavor and YES!!! they serve real maple syrup with their amazing home made pancakes and French toast. The atmosphere is fantastic and the service is top notch. The location is everything you would expect from a restaurant that is located in the mountains. Let’s talk about the coffee which is being roasted on site and served with breakfast. The owners method of roasting coffee beans is exceptional which makes the coffee buttery smooth and ridiculously delicious with every sip. Their specialty Sunrise on Marcy blend is a masterpiece. We bought several packages of their whole beans sunrise blend for brewing at home. Adirondack Mountain Coffee Cafe is serving the best breakfast and the best damn coffee in the Adirondack Mountain area without question. The coffee beans being roasted here should be sent in for competitions. I buy my roasted coffee beans from Elevator Coffee so when I say this spot is making great roasted coffee beans, it’s making competition style roasted coffee beans.

Food was very good and the waitresses were so nice! The frozen coffee was AMAZING!!! Highly recommend. Loved that the fries were clearly from a sliced potato. Eating outside was nice, but there were quite a lot of flies near the end, and they’re doing construction so it’s a little noisy.

Loved having brunch here! Stopped by here one late morning on a weekday—great food and service. I had the Eggs Florentine, Corn Beef Hash and a glass of orange juice. A hearty meal before a long hike is what I needed, and that’s what I got at the Adirondack Mountain Coffee Cafe. Outdoor seating is very nice during a moderate summer morning.

We drove 1.5 to dine here as we are interested in the History of Arto Monaco and the Land of Make Believe. The Food was OUTSTANDING and totally worth the drive. The staff was friendly and were helpful, the owner came out to speak to us and was pleasant, he even gave us a momentum for our museum here in Vermont. We were honored to add the Land of Make Believe items to our collection. The coffee is good too! I even purchased a coffee mug from there as I love my mugs but it was a nice touch to our visit. Definitely recommend anyone going here. The land of make believe is gone with nothing left on the grounds to see, but this restaurant does have photos and memorabilia on site for you to see the history along with saving a window that is located in the restaurant for all to enjoy. Thank you for Great food and Company! We will be back!!

Service was fine until we waited for the bill. 45 minutes and several I'll bring your check in a minute until we went to the register to pay without it. The food was amazing and huge portions. Right on the Ausable River and a beautiful spot.

It was our First Visit. The food was very good. Everyone in our party was happy with their food.We were given a beeper and told 45 min wait. It was a one hour wait. We did see empty tables, maybe they were understaffed or only one cook. It was a cold day so waiting outside seating was not an option. We did wait in our car like many others. I did observe people waiting with their takeout coffee. I wish we knew it would have been such a long wait as we already .

S
Sara Jank

Food is fabulous and our waitress was great! We bought some coffee beans and fudge on our way out. We've done sunday brunch here the past 2 years on an annual visit to the area, both times the wait was over an hour. When I was looking at it the night before, Google said the peak wait time on a Sunday morning was about 15 minutes, so even though we waited an hour last year, we decided to go again. We were told 35-40 minute wait when we arrived. After waiting outside for over an hour, we went in just to see if there was an updated estimate on the wait time, and then we were seated. I'm assuming they were short-staffed, as they appeared to be seating less than half of the open tables while everyone waited outside. We do enjoy it here, but will probably pick somewhere else to try next year.

R
Robin Atler

Good coffee, good food. Staff is friendly but there aren't enough of them, they aren't well-organized, and, as a result, service was TERRIBLE. But there aren't a lot of choices in Jay, NY., especially after the NY upstate pretty much closes down as winter approaches. So YES, I recommend it. Just don't go if you don't have time to wait. And if you work here? People are a LOT more patient if you get water, coffee, or cold drinks quickly. Last time were there we left because, after 10+ minutes we had never seen our server! Meanwhile one lady was loitering up front, casually more or less looking over clean glasses that had just come from the dishwasher! She could have EASILY gotten drinks/coffee for new arrivals. Just sayin'.

We went for the first time to have brunch, and there were so many delicious-looking options! My husband's chicken sandwich was excellent, but the eggs Benedict were a bit underwhelming. I was expecting a more traditional Hollandaise sauce, and since it wasn’t quite that, it didn’t meet my expectations. We also bought some pastries in the front counter, very good! The only real disappointment was the coffee. It tasted watery and burnt, which is not what I would expect from a coffee shop.

Very busy but great place for breakfast. Good portion sizes, kids enjoyed the food too. Variety of seating options indoors and outdoors. Service is warm and ambiance is inviting. Ample parking spaces. Definitely recommended.

Great value for money and WELL worth the drive from Lake Placid for a good brekkie! 4.5 stars easy! The coffee is nice and tasty, indoors and out the is a really cute spot. They are undergoing renovations at the moment, but everything is open. We sat outside which was lovely, the road beside is nice an quiet. This place does get REALLY busy the later it gets. They have good menu options and build your own breakfast. The home fries are my favourite!! They are cooked dry and crispy. The sausage is very tasty (hoping homemade). The eggs were cooked perfect for over medium (didnt have to ask for hard). The chairs on the veranda were very comfortable! The service was slow this day. Our server may have been new and or they were under staffed that day. But everyone was super friendly. They offer dial in take out, they have coffee bags and mugs to buy. They have lots of baked goods to buy order in or out.

They have outdoor seating, but I was surprised to find out it’s not dog-friendly (even at the patio). The staff told me I could sit near the railing as long as I tied my dog “outside” on the grass, which was very disappointing. Another guest also expressed her disappointment that she had to leave her dog in the car while she ate her lunch on the patio :/ I decided to just take out my coffee and pastries, which were good.

Food was ok, I had the eggs Florentine. The sign upon entering said wait to see hostess for seating at the counter. There was a line, so I waited 10 minutes. Placed my order and then took a seat. We were greeted by someone informing us we were not allowed to sit down and there was a wait list. I said I just placed my order. She told me it was a to-go order. So… please make your signage a bit more clear. It was not quite the experience I was hoping for.

We have been coming here for several years and have always loved it. Last Sunday we arrived at 11:00 am and had to wait almost 45 minutes. The waitress was very apologetic and explained that they were 1 waitress short. They had to not only serve, but clear and set the tables as well. Why don’t you hire some high school kids on the weekends to do the grunt work, easing up the waitresses duties? I always order the corn beef hash but this time the portion was very small, with more potatoes than corn beef which was cut into tiny pieces. A friend of mine also experienced the same thing. Curious to know if it’s my imagination.

I have been there on several occasion since they opened. I live in Jay. At first I really liked the place, but a ince then the service has went down hill, possibly a result of their own success. When they are crowded, on weekends and holidays, you can't get in without a long wait. But, even when they are not busy, the service is very slow. Was just down there, only a few customers there, waited a good 15 minutes after being told to take seat (there were 2 of us) and were basically ignored. We finally left without eating. They do have very good coffee to brew at home.

Cute restaurant. Food portions and quality were absolutely delicious. After our food was delivered though is when all the problems started. Every other table around us got refills. All but one came after us and left before us. We literally sat there trying to get our servers attention for 30 minutes. She just avoided us. I saw momentary eye contact several times. At first we just wanted more coffee. Then after 15 minutes boxes would have been nice. Then 15 minutes later I just walked up to the counter to ask the hostess to pay for our check. Shout out to her, she apologized. Honestly I do know if it was because my wife is Asian. She was the only non white person to enter there our entire visit. I don't want to assume but... Literally I can't think of any other reason to be literally ignored for 40+ minutes at a restaurant as folks come and go all around you. I still left a 20% tip. You didn't deserve it.

Overall, a scenic stop between hiking. We ordered a pancake with whipped cream, a biscuit and egg with home fries, and the scrambled eggs with toast. The portions were incredibly generous. The scrambled eggs were fine and the bread they deemed sourdough was more of a plain piece of toast, lacking any of the distinct flavors that sourdough is known for. It was, however, generously buttered. The biscuit was ginormous, I think if I put both hands together, it would not be enough to fit it. The eggs in the sandwich needed salt and the home fries had zero seasoning. They tasted more like French fries that had been diced and roasted than anything. The pancake was paper thin, lacking that distinct diner style fluff and the flavor was fine, nothing to write home about. The whipped cream portion, however, was generous. As far as service goes, the only thing that was quick to come out was the check. At no point did our waitress check if we needed refills and the initial coffee she brought out was cold. The second coffee was hot, but by the time she brought it, we had already finished eating. Come for the portions (and adorable chipmunks), but be prepared to stay for a while.

Was really disappointed in this place. The service was slow and we waited a long time for coffee (which, to be fair, was good) and were never offered a refill. The sourdough bread was tasty. The corned beef hash was absolutely disgusting. It was served ice cold and of the consistency one imagines in prison food. The locals did seem to be getting better service, though, so maybe that's where the good reviews come from.

Coffee and service were great. I ordered steak and eggs. Eggs were unseasoned and the yolks broken. I ordered the steak rare, it came out well done and looked boiled. The Bloody Mary hit the spot but was bitter and lacked any sort or spice or acid. Atmosphere was decent, food was poor. And no dogs allowed despite having a patio. 👎

The wait staff needs training. I stopped here recently for breakfast recently and the staff looked a mess. They messed up my order but I wasn't going to complain about the unordered sausage links I received. I will complain that after getting our food we never saw our waitress again. No coffee warm up, no can I get you anything else, no how is/was everything. Nothing. The wait staff just continued to seat new customers and solely worry about them. There was also a staff member who did nothing but talk to tables of people she obviously knew without lending a hand. For almost 15 minutes after we were done eating we saw no staff stop at our table until I finally found our waitress for a to go box. Our waitress was nice but inept at how to be a waitress. I go to restaurants and expect good service or at least that the staff know more about waiting tables than me. This is an example of why the expectations of tipping are becoming tiresome in society.

Came for breakfast, ordered steak and eggs and burger and eggs, everything medium. Only one set of eggs were really medium, the rest of the food VERY well done. Waited for check until did not have any time left. Overall average, cozy though

So the restaurant and its location are great. Food is pretty good, and coffee good too. However, that’s where the good ends. Once we arrived, there was a 25-30 minute wait which is understandable since it’s brunch time on a Sunday and one of a few decent restaurants in what seems to be a pretty remote area. However, what was not understandable is the fact that once we were seated we sat for 20 minutes (in the main restaurant, not even outside!) without even being acknowledged or given so much as a water on a 97 degree day where we just sat outside and waited for 25 minutes. Waitresses rushed by constantly, but nothing, not even a “I will be with you as soon as possible.” Once they finally took our food order they didn’t even come check on us once and we had to flag them down to get boxes and the check. Whether this was the waitresses fault, I do not know but this place is NOT managed correctly. As someone that waitressed AND bussed for years in my 20s (not that long ago, I assure you) I know how efficient restaurants run. Hostesses seat and manage the front, sometimes arranging for water unless the bussers do it, waitresses serve, and bussers clean and prepare tables. Ideally, you have an expeditor helping manage orders coming in and out, but if you’re short staffed you won’t always have this option I know. However, other than the seating and reservations, they have these waitresses doing everything… water, drinks, food, food prep and expediting, bussing, and so on. This is not an efficient way to run a busy restaurant that they’re obviously trying to expand but don’t even have the manpower to currently staff as it is. So honestly, I don’t blame the waitresses here - I blame the management and/or owners. Glad we don’t live nearby because we’d obviously never come back.

I am a regular customer--maybe 30 visits over the last couple of months, and more before. I tried ordering oatmeal that I was told was in the kitchen by a staff member, but the waitress refused to serve it to me because it was after 11! I had arrived at 11:02, and told them to set it aside, while I waited for a table in the parking lot for 20 minutes. After waiting for another 10 minutes at the table--super inefficient wait staff-- I was told that while they still had oatmeal, to give it to me would be against the rules. Never have I had such an unkind waitress-the one with the sour expression, or bad experience at any restaurant. Awful service, and totally unnecessary. Absent a change, I'm never going back. Choose how to spend your money. YMMV, but the spirit and vibes of that place is bad.

Bizzare experience here, was greeted and told to sit wherever we like. Chose a table by some others. Watched as 4 waitress tended to all the tables around us, after 15 minutes another couple came in and orders were taken. After 20 minutes of not being acknowledged by any staff we chose to leave. Are we ghosts? Did we say something? Who knows!

No words but OVERRATED. Waiting time to get a table is almost an hour and another hour to wait for your food. There is nothing special about the food. Front desk staff is rude when I made a follow up for our table. Definitely not recommending this coffee shop.

This was truly a horrible experience-the food and coffee served here was not worth the excruciating service. I went for a simple breakfast and to get some coffee beans as they seemed promising. The wait was incredibly long, which is not an issue, as I understand the amount of travelers through here. However, after the long wait to get in, servers took over half an hour in between visits to the table. There were not that many people in the establishment that would have warranted such slow service. The food was fine, nothing special, and the coffee was ok. This would have been acceptable at a place with better service. The general vibe of the restaurant was stuck halfway in-between old time country diner and a more modern take on breakfast cuisine. It simply doesn't work well. I wanted to like this place so badly, and planned to buy coffee beans and one of the hiking maps for sale at the front when I first entered. However, I was so frustrated at how much of my time they had wasted that I paid for my meal and left empty handed. I recommend avoiding this place until they make changes to service and work towards finding a direction for the food and coffee.

Abysmal experience. Disorganized and incompetently run. Multiple small parties made to wait outside in the rain while half of the tables inside were unoccupied. Hostess told us where to sit by pointing to a table rather than walking us over, where we sat for another 10 minutes without so much as a glance from the wait staff, while patrons who were seated after us were receiving drinks and placing food orders. Waitresses who appeared to be doing a good job managing their sections avoided eye contact with the group of unfortunate patrons (including us) who were apparently seated in no man’s land. A male member of the staff was outwardly rude to an elderly woman waiting by the entrance. I understand that staffing issues occur regularly in restaurants, but the lack of awareness or effort to make any accommodations for customers is unacceptable and they should be frankly embarrassed and ashamed at the experience that was shared by many patrons today.

I ordered scrambled eggs, wheat toast, and hash. The scrambled eggs were not made freshly for me. They had clearly been made some time before and scooped into my plate like at a hotel buffet. The toast was barely toasted. The corned beef hash appeared to be leftover dried out home fries with hardly any corned beef in it. This used to be an amazing breakfast place but premade scrambled eggs have no place at a place like this. Won't be returning
