The best spot on the nautical mile as far as I'm concerned. Great food a nice mix of relaxed and chill with great food. There is something for everyone, music great drinks, fresh sea food and much more. They have great outdoor seating as well as an attractive indoor eating space. Staff was friendly, not the quickest but it feels appropriate as the vibe is super chill.

Loved the oysters. They were fresh. I did get some small shells in my mouth but it didn't ruin it for me. Staff was friendly and check in often. Drinks were expertly made.

My boyfriend and I went this past Saturday at 6pm; I was curious because people either loved or hated it so I had to see for myself. Overall it was a good experience-the food (stuffed flounder, lobster salad) was excellent, the view was unbeatable from the second floor, our waiter very friendly and helpful and the host came over to see how things were. We would go again.

We went today (4th of July). It was 8 of us- my parents, aunt, uncle my husband and our two young kids. Service was excellent. Gianni was our waiter and he was extremely helpful and kind. He made sure to arrange a table with shade to accommodate us. We each had entrees - seafood linguine, rack of lamb, jerk chicken fried rice, flounder, seafood broil, and chicken fingers and fries for the kids. Everything was delicious! Usually I domt expect much from these places on the water, in terms of food but we were presently surprised.

10/10, HIGHLY RECOMMEND! I had the pleasure of being serviced by Eve and she really did make it THAT much better! Ask for Eve when you guys are there. Strong drinks, food is bomb, great vibes, what more can someone ask for? Definitely recommend for a night out with friends or even date night!

This is a really nice place. It is not fancy. It has waterside seating. Hibiscus is at the end of the channel so boats are always appearing and turning around. We sat right next to the water down from the bar. It smelt like ocean water which I love. The DJ was really good playing nice songs. It was a tad to load which took away a star for atmosphere. It should be 4.9. We had oysters and Calamari which were really good. The oysters were on the small side. The Calamari was spicy with the sauce the added. That was a nice touch. I had Seared Sword Fish. This dish was so good. I could not have been happier. The cheif cooked it perfectly and the presentation was beautiful. My friend had Clams over Linguini. He said it tasted amazing. The wait staff is very good there. I really enjoyed my time there. I am handicapped and it was really easy navigating. Parking is right across the street. The cost was in line with what we ate. Thanks for an enjoyable time.

Went here for date night with my husband and it was awesome! Great music, the food and ambiance was amazing. We sat outside on the water and ordered the raw oysters, the cold lobster roll, and the Cajun shrimp jambalaya. It was all fantastic. We had such a great time!

I had the pleasure of being served by Evelynne, she was so sweet and attentive. She attended us right away and gave us great suggestions, especially when it came to drinks. I had the hibiscus margarita which was excellent and ate the lamb chops which were cooked perfectly. I definitely recommend this place, one of the best food and service i had had on the mile.

My Daughter and Husband planned a surprise dinner for me August 2nd and they couldn't have picked a better place. The food was fresh and very very tasty. I am a lover of all things seafood, so I know good and this food was GREAT. The atmosphere was great, the staff was friendly, very accommodating and attentive. We will absolutely be eating here again.

The food was delicious from the starters to the dinner. We had the crab cakes, wings and lamb chops. Highly recommend all of the above. The drinks were great also I had the Hibiscus 🌺 margarita and coconut rum drinks. The service was great and our waiter Brandon was the best. He was very helpful and know about the different foods and drinks and which to recommend. Highly recommend this restuarant to anyone looking for great food and great service. Nice place to try with parking for boats. Very welcoming atmosphere. Service is great. Portions are big enough. Feels safe inside cause tables are not close to one another. Everyone with masks on and a lot of sanitizers around. Seafood pasta was delicious. We asked for aldante. And it came up just perfect. I would definitely recommend to try Kung pao Calamari. Decided to visit this place Sunday with my girlfriend and I must say we loved it! Evelyn was our bartender and she made the best drinks for us. I decided to try the Rum punch which was hands down one of the best I ever had. We ordered the plantain chips which were also great, especially the sauce and for entrees I got the lamb chops and she got the fried snapper. Everything was delicious and I will define tly be returning here. The outside bar can get a little crazy so I suggest going inside for drinks first!

Even though it was a Tuesday I still made reservation because it was my hunnys birthday and I needed them to know which slice of cake to bring without him knowing 😊. The atmosphere was beautiful but I love the water anyway. The appetizer were great, we had the wings and crab cakes, dinner was great, drinks were great and Groupon deal actually paid for the drinks. My aunt didn't enjoy her meal and right away she got her a next meal to go..The next day my Aunt decided to eat her meal and it was just plain pasta no shrimp and a little sauce.. Hibiscus was the first venue I checked out on The Nautical mile. Friends had told me about the area but being from NYC I didn't really have many occasions to vist the region. Despite a busy looking weekend we were seated by the water. The view was beautiful. There's something about food with a view (over water) that can't be matched. Meanwhile, service was efficient. Drinks and food was brought out in short order. We ordered oysters and several of their apps. Don't shy away from their spicier options. Those were some of the best parts of the menu! The other thing I recall was the fact that the DJ was killing it with their mix. I heard Dancehall, Afro Beats, Reggaeton, Dembow etc. I would've stayed to dance if we weren't looking to check out other venues. I can't remember the DJ's name but I took his card. I'll come back and add it to this review if I find it. Bottom Line: This place is a must visit during warm weather months. Don't worry about parking. There's a complimentary valet service across the street.

Went here last night for a friends birthday celebration, drinks, service and band was good. it was a good time for all.

The food is always is very good and both the staff and the kitchen are willing and able and do take your preferences into consideration the portions could be a little larger two pieces of fish for the fish and chips for $18 is a little sparse. My husband and I ate upstairs which of those have a lovely view of the canal and the surrounding environment the bar can be a little loud on the first floor there is an elevator for handicapped people to get up to the first second and third floors it's slow and for some reason always a cold elevator this has a lonely bar and it's a good place to go on a date not too expensive or for a nice dinner

This is the second time I ate here only because we knew the food was good the first time. And the second time, it was delicious too. The guy that took care of us was nice and polite. I only gave 4 stars because the drinks were water down. It didn't taste good. But the food was so good. We wanted to go back to taste the lamb chop for mother day, we didn't know if they did a takeout.

I would have given the review 5 stars but the only thing I did not like was that the music was so Extremely Loud that you had to scream over the table to hear each other. I enjoyed my first anticipated visit to this restaurant. I was impressed with the customer service that was given to us as soon as we walked in. We were given a choice of where we wanted to sit which is always a plus and the views were amazing. However I was disappointed by the lack of items on the menu. I expected much more items than what was offered but I was still able to pick nonetheless. Even though the customer service started off great it seemed like we were forgotten. My guest and I were sitting for a while waiting for our checks to come out but it took longer than expected. I will say that they did a fantastic job changing orders for us multiple times. Came here for a birthday dinner with friends and we had a blast! Food was great - we got a mix of seafood for the table: oysters, clams, calamari, fish tacos, everything was fresh and tasted great! Drinks were good too, I had the Lychee Martini. We went on a Friday and they had live music at the bar downstairs. Would definitely come back!

Had a lovely early dinner here the other day. We’ve frequented a few restaurants along the mile but never here. It was a beautiful day and we sat outside along the water. We started with a few drinks, I had the spicy Margarita. It was delicious l, not to spicy just perfect. For appetizers we had the crab cakes (2 on the plate) and chicken quesadilla which was on the appetizers list and came with fries . Both were very good. I’m trying to lose a few pounds so I opted to have a salad. He had the whole snapper (fried) with yellow rice and plantains. His food looked and smelled delicious. Mines not so much. I will say it taste ok but the presentation was poor. I had the house salad with steak. I kinda take some responsibility because the menu did say iceberg lettuce and I’m not really a fan of iceberg. But I ate it anyway. I will definitely suggest that they work on the presentation and also ask how the customer likes the steak. Other then that I enjoyed my experience. The waiter was very pleasant and helpful. They offer valet parking right across the street and it is free but I strongly encourage you to tip these guys. Will I ever go back? Sure, but I’m definitely not ordering that salad anymore 😜

Went there yesterday for dinner with my fiance we had five appetizers and some lamb chops, our waiter was great he was very warm and attentive however after we got home all fun started with our stomach tums didn't help vomiting and diaheria. I don't know what happened in the kitchen but am home in bed unable to go to work because of my stomach. Spent over $200 on food that now took a days pay away from me.🤣🤣 🙃

We got there at 8:45 PM. Inviting atmosphere. Cordial staff. Great drinks. The appetizers were not the best. The lobster was fresh and tasty but portion was too small.for$24. Crab cakes were salty. Overall I would visit again and try other dishes. This was my first time afte all. Would give them another chance.

The service was good. The decor is nice, along with the outdoor space. However the food was Bland. We ordered the bake clams, it was dry compare to other bake clams I've had at other seafood places on the mile. The BBQ wings were dry bcuz they were baked instead of fried. My husband ordered the broil seafood platter, and I had the lamb chops, they both were lacking.... Seasoning.The Sangria was watery.

The place was easy to find. I was seated immediately and the service was exceptional. The food was delicious ranging from a salad to a shrimp scampi. The down side was that I asked for a staple shepards pie for lunch and they denied me my pie. It was also a little pricey. 4 people with cocktails for lunch was $$ 225. $$ a bit pricey for lunch.

If you're hoping for a good fish taco, this is not the place. Incredibly bland and dry. Even what little teeny bit of fruit salsa on it was barely noticeable. The cocktails were good and we had scallops as an appetizer. I'm not a fan of them but they were presented beautifully. My friend said they were good, so I'll take her word for it. I've eaten here before. Don't know what's changed, but seems different.

Food was delicious, but took almost an hour to come out! On top of that, at the end of the meal we were charged automatically a 20% gratuity fee for poor service! We had a party of 5 people, so if it was listed somewhere and O was unaware, that is 100% my fault, but after some searching I couldn’t find anything to say this. Just great food, poor service, and a weird gratuity fee.

The food was good. Atmosphere was nice. Stuff was good. What I didn't like was tip being automatically entered along with a check that offers a place to put more for those who may not have noticed. This is deceiving. In addition, being charged for using cash. Like who carriles cash. So this increased up about $50. Then I find out they had Groupon. Literalñy right after paying full price. Oh. Kids had juice ($5) and they said worst watered down drink.

Visited on 7/22 , it was a Friday evening. They had west Indian/Caribbean music and a dj. Got to the hostess and she asked if we had reservations... Reservations!!! Their website clearly states no reservations. Anys she said they had a table for 2 inside. Reluctantly, we took the inside seating. The inside felt icky and sticky..... A good wipe down with bleach would help the situation. As previous reviews, the wait staff is slow and not in a rush... We ordered 2 appetizers ... Coconut Shrimp (5 pieces) and some Kung Pao calamari. It was tasty, with the sauces on board. Looks like refried from frozen. We ordered Linguine with Clam & the Broiled seafood platter. The linguine was heavy felt more like a chowder with noodles inside. Would not order again. The broiled seafood was okay but overcooked. This was the first time here and probably be the last time too... Not at all as expected.. The carribean hype needs some revisiting... Need some Rasta pasta or something.... We ended up going to Jeremy's Ale house down the road, to get this seafood craving we were looking for ...

Came here on a slow night. We had the shirmp appetizer, which is a small portion and okay. The main entree was good. There are indoor and outdoor sitting with a view of the water. Dislike that the restaurant automatically adds 20% gratuity to your receipt in addition to a tip guide.

Menu appears to be great….but I’m not sure if the cook, owner, or person who wrote the menu has any culinary background or common sense? Pretzel Bites came out as two whole greasy soft pretzels with mediocre canned cheese sauce to start. Ordered BEER battered fish and chips…simple, classic, easy to make dish that’s a staple to any waterside dining, well they didn’t understand the assignment! Was served an overly fried/over cooked poorly breaded fish(not sure what kind as it didn’t appear to be) Besides having the totally wrong breading/batter, it was extremely over cooked. The chicken tidbits were edible, the fries your basic Restaurant supply mass produced underwhelming starch. Spinach stuffed flounder was the only part of this meal that was decently made. Loud obnoxious music was unavoidable even being seated inside. Pay attention to what you order/want and read the menu.

Was there Saturday 1/23/2021 waited almost 40 min after being seated for someone to take the order. Male host Never placed the appetizer order. He stated "I forgot" and walk away. Then came back and ask if I should cancel the order. An order that was never placed. Offered drinks on the house and never brought the drinks until after I requested the checks. Couples that came before us in groups of 2 was served and treated before us even though we were seated first. Absolutely ridiculous. Will not attend this restaurant again. Good luck to those who have had a better experience.

Look the service was great, the atmosphere was classy. However, for the price of the food, I expected more. My son ordered noodles with butter at $9.95. My daughter's chicken fingers with fries at $9.95 was pretty decent but for $10 it's still just chicken fingers and fries. I am a picky eater when it comes to meat. I usually eat vegetarian but the menu didn't have much in that department. I ordered the turkey burger expecting a juicy, fresh turkey patty. The burger was extremely meaty, the bun was too much and made the sandwich disproportionate. It was generally inedible to me. My family was hit with a $220 bill and I walked away feeling a bit cheated.

the only reason i'm giving 2 stars instead of 1 is because our server Angle was amazing. it was dinner for 5, sangria was the worst we ever had, out of the 5 aps only the fried calamari was good. the tequila sunrise was trash, food and drinks over priced for the quality. DJ was good. we spent over $600 and decided to take out our mains to try Puerto Plata across the street, good thing we did. when we saw the huge menu we should have just walked out, huge menus' is a big red flag. nothing signature. worst food on the strip.

I don’t usually write reviews, but my experience at Hibuscus on the Mile was a joke. The servers were completely inattentive—more focused on their phones than on us. We waited forever for our food, and the place was nearly empty! If you enjoy being ignored while waiting for mediocre dishes, this is the spot. Otherwise, skip it and go somewhere that actually cares.

As a frequent customer of “The original “hibiscus in queens I have to say that my last visit on memorial weekend was a complete waste of money.! ($260) The menu has complete changed from when they initially opened on the mile. For apps we had the Rock shrimp , calamari and lamb. All was not very pleasing …. Everything fried had the same breading which was tough and didn’t have much flavor . The Shrimp was chopped up into pieces. The Lamb had a curry flavor was it was bitter and tasteless … Grill lamb is supped to be just that, if it’s cooked the right way it’s delicious with just salt and lemon. I had the fried snapper , it was overcooked , dry and to tough to eat I was unable to use my fork.Waste of money.!! We also had jerk chicken that looked almost like stew chicken and tasted terrible no JERK seasoning at all and it was not even grilled . This is supposed to be a CARIBBEAN RESTAURANT … there was not one Caribbean song that was played and absolutely no Caribbean people on staff . I felt like I was at a Hispanic MAJIC MIKE SHOW . We will not return , it’s a terrible shame it’s such a beautiful atmosphere.

Don't bother. The food is NOT good at all. I ordered the seafood combo at $36 and it had 3 small shrimp, 3 of the tiniest scallops I have ever seen and the thinnest piece of fish I have ever seen. My MIL fleet mignon was BURNT beyond recognition and my fiance's paella was horrid. We paid for our drinks & the paella (he ate 40%of it) and had the great taken off the bill and left

I have to say first off I used EB Elliot's to host my bridal shower last year and had no complaints. But tonight was a VERY different experience, one that lost them a patron forever. Our food was ok but the service was trash. Shay was an amazing busboy, he was constantly making sure our water was full and that we had everything we needed. Amanda S. was our server and was hardly attentive. As we wrapped up the night, we paid our bill and split the tip giving half to her and half to the Shay. After we left our table, she approached us as we were leaving to complain about her tip and insinuate that we shouldn't have ordered cocktails if we couldn't afford to tip her "well" enough to her standards and that she wasn't going to eat tonight apparently because of our bill. I was immediately offended seeing as how tips while usually customary are still optional and I personally tip for good service (18% or not). She got my husbands order incorrect and rather than send it back he just ate it because it was already hard to get a hold of her. I immediately went to find the manager to complained about it because I've never been approached about a tip, and even if a server felt it was in bad taste it's extremely unprofessional and disrespectful to approach a patron the way she did and proceed to make assumptions about how we should have spent our money. Safe to say I will NEVER be going here again if this is the kind of service we would receive.

This is a great place to chill out grab a few drinks and vibe out with the live music! The seafood was fresh and the lamb was very festive! The service on the other hand was very lagging, it took 15 mins for a waiter to come to our tables to get our drink orders. Not to mention we had to find a waiter to get their attention every time we had a request. I would’ve given 4 stars if the service was on point but for a sat night that was most disappointing.

Upon entry we were seated and the waitress were very attentive to our needs. However once we got the food it was not the best, the spaghetti felt rubbery and tomato sauce or plate felt like it was a day old. I didn’t like the presentation of the food nor the quality. Looked like they just mixed a lot of seafood in the spaghetti and just put it in the plate. I also order a mojito and it was gross. Based on the reviews and prices of the menu I thought it was going to be good quality authentic food but it wasn’t I was very disappointed.

Had dinner with a group of 14 friends on 7/20/18. The atmosphere was nice. The barmaid was pleasant though the pinacolada tasted watered down. The waitress was nice but seemed overwhelmed & inexperienced. Several of us did not receive our food as ordered from the menu or as per our requested preference (well-done vs. rare). They substituted the vegetable listed on the menu for what they had available without asking if it would be ok with us. Each Salmon meal was to be served with a side dish which we had to ask for & when received, it was served in a small bowl, family style. We were never asked if we wanted beverages or drinks, no one came to refill water glasses, one guest waited almost 15 min. longer for her dinner because the waiter said "I didn't get the memo" but the manager said he didn't see it (the order). We received a 20% VIP discount but they automatically added 20% gratuity charge to each bill. I personally don't feel the service rated 20% tip. I have passed by this restaurant many times & always wanted to try it. Well, i tried it tonight and will never return or recommend it.

This place is disgusting! I should’ve turned around and walked out as soon as I entered the restaurant. It stunk of backed up sewage and needed to be bleached and fumigated! But I figured I’d give it a shot since I was already there for a client lunch meeting. HUGE mistake! Imagine my embarrassment! The lunch shrimp basket was a joke! There were only 6 cocktail shrimp which I would have expected to be jumbo butterfly shrimp, and they put a lot of fries, for $20!!! And the food was awful! Fruit flies and flies all over my table! 🤮 The only good thing was the service. Do yourself a favor and RUN, don’t walk, as far away from this place!

We had drinks an appetizer and dinner. Plantain chips are not chips, they’re soft. Pineapple Mojito tastes like dirty water with lots of lime. Drinks, food and service sucks! This place is definitely not what it use to be.

Left just now. Ride bartender. Tall big white man that looks like he is balding. My friend spilled a drink and I felt bad for the bartender so I took the bar napkins and tried to clean it up. He sarcastically said “go ahead and use all the napkins like we don’t have a bar rag” I’m sorry next time I’ll just watch the drink continuously drip on the floor. Didn’t know the napkins came out of his paycheck. That guy was rude all night and I’m mad I even tipped him.

I have had the worst food I have ever tasted at this place. Firstly, I ordered fried rice with fried chicken. The rice was very soft, and tasted like 2 weeks fridge rice with no season,. I returned the food, and they offered me to order something else. This time the fried red snapper was not fresh and had no seasons. The yellow rice served was also fridge rice which tasted spoiled. Tens hours after and my stomach still feels upset from just tasting the food. This is far the most horrible place to eat.

This restaurant looks nice from the outside. They even have a nice view by the water, but their food is horrible. My girlfriend is from Guyana and she ordered Jerk chicken with fried rice. She toke two bites and could not finish the meal. I had the bbq pork ribs. It was horrible as well. I also ordered wine and was brought a small plastic cup. Waste of money. Do not order food from this place. Horrible!

Food was so lousy!! Ordered crab cakes and got two dry hush puppies. The waiter was trying to convince me it was handmade. There was NO crab meat anywhere near that’s flat bread cakes. Friend ordered the tid bits instead he got a stop and shop bun chicken and mozzarella no taste

Ive been eating food for 26 years, and i have never experienced service this poor. Out of 11 people got 3 orders wrong, and 2 other pasta plates took over an hour and a half to come out. This is after the waiter comes over and asks if we still want it. 50% capacity of people is fine, but including work ethic and service in that 50% is not acceptable.

I will not go to this place again. Food was good but service was very poor! I was sitting with my family for about 20 minutes while two other sets of people came in and sit next to us. Both tables were attend to 1st while we were still sitting there. I called the waitress over and address it then she came and take our order. While we were leaving I had my 11 months old baby that keep pulling my mask off. When the security saw my mask off very rudely he said “where is your mask you have to put it on”!! I said we are leaving and my baby keep pulling it off and he shouted and said “we can get a $10,000 fine” meaning the restaurant can get a fine, which I understand but he cloud have say it in a more professional way. I will never go to this place again!!

The service here is HORRIBLE. Not only did they not have half the menu that was seafood (which is weird because we’re on the bay .. and is a seafood restaurant..)-the server didn’t come up to us once. Furthermore- after my fiancé finished his salad he found a hair on the plate (and definitely not his..) when we brought it up to the manager we got a snarky response then TRIED BLAMING US for the hair. Mind you he only took off $5 off our bill. We left extremely unhappy and WILL NOT BE COMING AGAIN!!!!

They are on the water but do not have regular salmon without it being stuffed with shellfish. First time experiencing that. The music was waaaaay too loud, and my fiance and I couldn't have a conversation at the table without yelling. It looks very nice on the outside but not considered a classy place. It's more for college students I felt. We left after being seated because they couldn't serve me with shellfish allergies, and the music was way too loud, but my fiance still tipped the waitress for her time.

Service was very rude. They refused to serve dinner after we paid. There were many altercations. I was very scared with my 2 children and I feel as if this is scary for any resident thinking of moving in .

We drove 40min to come here and its closed and shut down. There is no sign on the door and there is nothing on google, instagram page, NOTHING! On google it says you’re opened from 12pm-12am today. If it’s shut down you need to let people know online. This is an inconvenience

Positives: Free parking across the street and the young man Ki who was the only one actually working hard the DJ was good, upbeat and fun. The food was good. Negatives: Sat inside because it looked like rain. We were seated upstairs 85 degrees and no air conditioning. Really? The drinks were awful. The Cosmo wasn't a cosmo and Vodka with cranberry was wrong. The service was as slow as it gets ( think- by all means move at a glacier place) apparently there is no manager and if there was one they need some training. If it wasn't for Ki we would probably still be waiting for our food. The food was good. Their bartenders need training and management. Their servers need training and management. Make Ki your manager. If it was based on food alone we would be back, but unfortunately the service was so bad probably not going to happen.

This is soo sad ! The place use to be so good 7-8 years ago. What happened to the owner and managers . What a disgraceful place now , the food isn’t cooked by a chief anymore . It’s cooked by your Spanish aunt behind the kitchen. There's no culinary professionals or no administration running the kitchen. It’s literally so sad , if your a customer please go to the kitchen and see for yourself The manager Roberto was so rude about the bill splitting. The staff is so unpleasant and unprofessionals They don’t have experienced!!!

I was there with my daughter and a group of her friends celebrating her birthday on Saturday may the 14th I was charged for drinks I didn’t order the shrimps and fries was over cooked and everything we wanted I had to go to look for the waitress to ask .The service was bad but I didn’t want to upset my daughter or her guest so I didn’t want to make a scene. There was a group of Hispanics there they catered to them all night and they were able to blast their music and do as they pleased while we were treated like second class citizens. I spoke to the manager who is Hispanic about the treatment he apologized only because he knew it was the right thing to do.I will never patronize that restaurant again

Nothing here was worth the price. Service is like a turtle you barely see your server. Food wasn’t even good. Servers don’t seem to know what they’re doing. I wouldn’t recommend it. The baked clams were so small and was $23. For easy food to make and it took them forever to serve it.
