really good !! great little spot very nice and open, great and quick service, generous portions with good prices and definitely the best orange chicken ive ever had, such a hidden gem ! tables even had a cute little chinese zodiac chart to keep entertained no complaints at all :D
Absolutely the BEST chinese food in Northern California! I only wish I lived closer. Yes, we drive past dozens of Asian restaurants and deal with traffic that can take anywhere from 1-3 hours each way to eat at Wah Shine. I discovered them in 1988 when they were in Citrus Heights and I lived down the street. That location closed in the early 2000s. I was devastated! The food and the staff were all so outstanding. I went on a journey to find Chinese as good as Wah Shine but never did. Then I found out they were in Vacaville. I had my doubts if the food or service would be the same. To my delight, they are! The ONLY change I would make is to update the decor. Thats it! DONT CHANGE A THING WITH THE FOOD! Oh, and I'd add DELIVERY TO ROSEVILLE (I'd happily pay for that service!) Food recommendations: Won ton soup Egg drop soup Hot & sour soup *Pot stickers (pan fried) *Egg rolls Foil wrapped chicken *BBQ Pork Fried Rice *BBQ Pork Chow Mein *Honey Walnut Prawns Lemon Chicken Sesame Chicken Sweet & Sour Pork or Chicken Broccoli Beef Tomato Beef Chow Mein *PEKING BEEF *HOT PEPPER CHICKEN DICE **YOU HAVE TO ASK FOR THIS IF YOU DONT SEE IT IN THE MENU! TRUST ME! I do suggest you ask for mild or medium unless you are a fire eater! *We order these items EVERY SINGLE TIME & then some additional things! I can say that we have NEVER, and I mean NEVER, since 1988 had anything that wasn't so delicious your eyes roll back in your head! And I recommend that you get hot tea with your meal...it really adds a little extra something! ENJOY!
Wah Shine is the best Szechuan in town. Ive been frequenting for over 5 years even after I moved away. It is easy to call in and place an order. Delivery is quick and delivery with kind hands. My favorite is perfect for fall/winter...Hot & Sour soup! None like it further north.
..was craving Honey Walnut Shrimp 🍤 so I went to this place... first time , good vibes... Nice greeting... I ordered from the "Chefs Speciel" I asked the waitress If i could order HWS and she said Yes :) , it came with bowl Wonton soup, egg roll, cheese puff, fried rice or plain... while enjoying "My Crave", the Chef came out to say Hello 👋. Very Nice Servers all very Attentive and the food was Satisfying delicious.... Definitely coming back ;)
We visited in February for a birthday celebration for a good friend. She had never visited Wah Shine. I love this place. We ordered several different items for her celebration. The service was a 10!!! I rate the food a 10 as well. We had so much to bring home. It was delicious. If you have not been to Wah Shine you are missing out. We ordered egg rolls, pot stickers, broccoli beef, pineapple chicken and shrimp fried rice. Delicious!
Friendly staff, quick service, and amazing food! We didn't even have to wait 10 mins for out food to come to our table. I highly recommend coming here!
Been coming here since 1985.... Walnut Shrimp and Green Bean Chicken are family favs! Cheese puffs are always light and crisp Ricky and the staff always make sure you are well fed and happy when you leave.

This is one of those places that you second guess going into, but life's all about giving chances. I suggest giving this place a try. It is really good, it's clean and the staff are very kind. The prices are great for the huge portions that I received. It's very hidden but I reccomend seeking this little gem.
Always great, tasty food at a great value! Large portions and friendly staff. Our must stop whenever we're in Vacaville. Some of the best Asian food around, we always get the santon chicken
I love this place, it gives me a type of comfort I could only find where the food is delicious and the people are kind and friendly with each other and the customers.
I really like that they have the special lunch on the weekend as well as on weekdays. My Kung Pao chicken was delish. And a good value.
I’ve lived Near this place for quite some time and I’ve always wanted to try it and I’m so glad I did. My order was taken by the most wonderful waitress I will get her name next time I go in but she is married to the owners son. She was so helpful in telling me her favorite dishes and she was right next time I will try the cherry pork and lemon chicken. The food was delicious and the portions were huge. I got the honey walnut shrimp, pork fried rice and salt and pepper chicken. This is now my favorite place to go in Vacaville. I will definitely return soon.
I live in Rio Vista. We have 1 Chinese restaurant here. I've tried really hard to like it but...nope! On the recommendation from a friend, she said try Wah Shine in Vacaville. Today is my husband's Bday. He wants Chinese food. I took a chance and place an order. OMG! It was sooo good! I've found a great place to eat! Will be going back.
Here in town visiting family and very happy from today, i wish i wouldve taken pictures because the servings are HUGE and the service and staff is very helpful and kind, i got to bring my service dog who is quite large :) Being from orange and san diego the food was so good too!!!

The food was delicious! And the portions were very generous. The hostesses were very kind and helpful they even gave me a glass of water while I wated fory ride. 10/10 will be going back
Staff makes you feel welcome and like family. Food is always delicious. Mom and I were greeted with a smile and given the last available table (seats 6, but they didn't want us to have to wait). Despite what others say, mom and I discussed how little the place has changed in the 30+ years we have been coming. It's great to see a family business last so long.
I Stopped here for dinner with my friend on our way back to Sacramento from the Bay area after a day of hiking, so we were starving. We had 2 of her kids and 2 of their friends with us. All 6 of us were able to satisfy our appetites for a pretty reasonable price. Everything we ordered was scrumptious, the service was fast and very attentive. I will definitely go back when I'm in the area again. I love Chinese cuisine!😋
I ordered the lunch special with chow mein and honey walnut shrimp, and added a sprite. Lunch specials come with a cheese puff, salad, and an egg roll. All of it was pretty tasty except the chow mein lacked flavor. I would definitely order from here again but wouldn't recommend the chow mein.

I had the Schezwan Fish Lunch special. So delicious and some of the best fried rice, so fresh. You won't leave hungry. I would stay away from the sesame chicken only if you like a thick batter then you'll enjoy it.

Realistically, it's a 3.5 . Service was great. Everyone was super nice and attentive. Food portions were not skimpy on dish size nor the amount of meat. Flavor was decent, not mind blowing. Most people will be happy with it. We got the chow fun, hot and sour soup, and twice cooked pork. No complaints. The hot and sour soup was both decently hot and sour. I hate it when it's neither. Recommended.

The most boring pork fried rice ever made. We ordered two orders and couldn’t get past a few bites. Soy sauce would have helped but we only got two packets. No plastic utensils included. We didn’t have any in our hotel room. 10/10 would not recommend.

We eat Asian cuisine quite often. But this time, bad luck. We ordered vegetable lo mein - very good. But we didn’t like the vegetable soup and shrimp chop sue at all. It smelled like they were cooked with socks that hadn't been washed in a week. Lots of ingredients, but it was tasteless with some kind of unpleasant aftertaste. It was cooked in some strange brown broth. Maybe it's beef. Although we specifically order vegetable, because we don’t eat anything meat that’s not halal. Also, even though the food had a lot of gravy, it was packaged in styrofoam rather than sealed plastic and had holes cut into the top (just like a soup container!). Of course it all spilled out and got everything dirty. In our case, the experience was unsuccessful.

Quality has gone down over the years. From my most recent visit the size of their shrimp for the honey walnut shrimp shrunk drastically and they barely put any beef in the chow mein. A shame because this was the best Chinese restaurant in Vacaville but now their portions have decreased while price increased.

Wonton soup had an awful taste and I vomited shortly after trying it. The restaurant ambience made me wonder with the large “No Refund” signs posted everywhere
