Personalmente no diría que es un bar de tapas. Si acaso de raciones, aunque tampoco. Tiene una carta sencilla con platos variados y muy sabrosos. A mí parecer. Preparado todo con mucho mimo. No es barato pero la calidad de la comida vale lo que cuesta. El local es muy tranquilo y acogedor y está en plena zona turística del casco antiguo. El secreto muy rico , unas verduras tipo Ratatouille super sabrosas. Por poner un pero diría que el vino de la casa podría ser mejorable.

Muy buen restaurante para tapeo con platos rebuscados y vinos seleccionados de la zona. Como plato estrella, destaco la pasta de sepia con pesto casero y la ternera. El nuevo postre de tarta de zanahoria también estuvo genial. Además, el trato de Mohammed y su compañero es muy cercano.

La comida y el servicio fueron excelentes. La chef crea platos muy ricos y creativos. Gracias a Mohammed por su hospitalidad

Slightly off the main path from the areas tourist attractions which means you get better food. The ham was great, the anchovies in orange and vermouth were excellent and different, but the stand out was the cabbage in yoghurt and cashew nuts. Never heard of this combo but it is an absolute must! The service was great. All in all, a very pleasant lunch. (Updated December 2025 and still 😃)

Oh my gosh it’s good!!! I had Spanish potatoes with Iberian ham, the cuttlefish pasta; both are delicious. The bread is so light and soft, it’s a great accompaniment to the flavorful dishes. The feel of the place is easy and comfortable. What a great lunch

This is one of our favorite tapas bars in Valencia - it's in an area near much of the busier tourist areas, but on a nice quiet plaza. The wine and tapas options are excellent, and the tapas themselves are really interesting and varied! In the warmer months, the tables outside are lovely to sit at and enjoy the weather. It's also a great place to stop before or after a show at Teatro Talia nearby.

Absolutely lovely alfresco dining in Valencia - we rocked up with no reservation but Mohammed welcomed us warmly and had an outdoor table for us. Lovely weather for dining outside, accompanied by fabulous tapas. Mohammed managed the subtle trick of being attentive without being overbearing - the house pate was extraordinary, but all dishes were lovely. I would recommend to anyone who finds themselves in Valencia.

Well... after a week in Valencia this is the standout restaurant by far. Flavours were amazing . Service by Gabriella was attentive but in no way intrusive and each plate and drink we ordered were delicious and felt authentic. If you want to challenge your tastebuds, this is the place. Update to previous reviews: still amazing food, and I wanted to shout out to Alfredo who made our meal so pleasant. It was his first day and he did an amazing job. The service is always excellent, and the cuisine and wine are wonderful. This is the best find in Valencia on a tiny, cute square. The sepia ribbons with pesto are so creative and the true definition of remarkable. Prices are reasonable and every dish is made with care. This has become our favorite spot in the Valencia city center. The food and service are simply exceptional.

What made this dish extraordinary was the "noodles" themselves, crafted from soft squid strips. This creative twist brought a delicate, oceanic flavor and a wonderfully tender texture that paired beautifully with the vibrant pesto sauce. It was a unique and delightful dish we won’t soon forget. The service was attentive and friendly, enhancing the overall experience. Tabernacle La Senia is a fantastic spot for anyone looking to explore inventive and well-executed dishes in Valencia. Highly recommended, especially for seafood lovers looking for something a little out of the ordinary!

The best food and service I have experienced in Valencia. I visited Monday 19 August 2024 for a late lunch. I had a delicious cold soup topped with cucumber and cuttlefish ribbons in pesto. Both dishes beautifully balanced, very fresh, on a hot afternoon. Excellent value. I want to return. The waiter was efficient and communicated well (including English - my language, although language was not an issue). I felt welcome in a relaxed way by all staff. Great atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Every restaurant in Valencia urges to write a review, which is understandable. I’m still eating and haven’t been asked yet but I will because the food is the best of my four-day stay. Anchovies in orange was amazing, and the steak was the leanest and most succulent. Light and airy and some nice wines by the glass. Genuinely recommended. Oh, lovely bread and olive oil too.

Pleasant tapas bar with a very limited number of tables. Reservations are not possible, so keep that in mind. The menu is limited, but that is a good thing in this case. The dishes are all very tasty and beautifully presented. The pork, beef and squid tagliatelle are highlights. However, the spicy Spanish potatoes could have been served both warmer and a little spicier. The staff is also very friendly. A nice recommendation for an evening of dining in an intimate setting!

Well this was a really nice experience! 👌 I was given samples of wine so I could choose which one I want to drink 🍷 I picked some La Sénia specialty and then asked for recommendation from bartender Pablo (really good job man 👌) and tried them all ❤ Cuttlefish "tagliatelle" with pesto (no pasta - just cuttlefish and pesto) was really amazing as well as beef with grilled peppers, tomatoes and potatoes 👍

Fuimos a comer porque vimos buena puntuación en Google. Fue algo improvisado. En si la comida está bien, nada a destacar. Es un sitio que está bien para comer algo rápido. A nosotros nos falto potencia en el sabor y las sardinas un precio algo elevado para la cantidad del producto. El servicio fue bueno y rápido. No volvería, pero no me disgusto.

Está rodeado de sitios sin más con una carta rancia y aburrida para turistas extranjeros. Nada que ver con este restaurante donde recomiendo la ensalada de calabacín laminado con piñones, que es perfecta para compartir. Tallarines de sepia con pesto, un poco escaso para dos, pero es de 10. Si lo pides con otras tapas vas bien.

Lovely place with friendly service. Came around siesta, and still could have a drink and some appetizers. Didn’t experience their food to judge. The kitchen is working from 19:00, unfortunately, it wasn’t mentioned in Google Maps… Prices are affordable, especially counting the fact that the location is in the heart of the old town. Sitio para tapear. Una opción si no encuentras otro sitio mejor. Comimos en mesas altas (no tienen casi mesas bajas) Lo más interesante fue una tapa de aceitunas con queso. El resto fue bastante sin más. Foie con pan 7/10 Huevos revueltos 6/10 Secreto 6.5/10 Patatas con mojo picón 5.5/10 Relación calidad precio 7/10 (es razonablemente barato) Entorno 5/10 (sitio pequeño)

Esta “OK”. No es un mal lugar pero tampoco bueno. La cazuela de patatas es sabrosa pero vamos…es una cazuela de patatas. El servicio okay, no fue malo pero tampoco destacable. Si queres comer algo al paso sin demasiado problema en comer excepcionalmente entonces es recomendable

Fuimos a tomar un aperitivo antes de comer. Nos gustaron mucho las gildas, que hay de diferentes tipos y son bastante picantes. También tomamos unas papas con mojo, esto estuvo bueno, sin más. El servicio amable pero un poco despistado, parece que al ser muchos extranjeros no saben ni lo que tienen en la carta. Volveremos a probar otras cosas.

Cute little place and friendly staff. We just had a jar of Agua de Valencia with some cheese and ham and a small plate of cuttle fish in a pesto saus. All was tasty. The ham and cheese board came with some bread and tomato spread. The bread was a bit stale but was nice with the tomato and olive oil. The ham and cheese was just that. Ham wasn't sliced to order either. The cuddle fish was nice and fresh had a lot of pesto sauce. It was almost like a pesto pasta. Overall it was ok, but just for this ones.

El ambiente es muy agradable, con música muy agradable y a buen volumen. Sin embargo la comida bastante decepcionante, la sepia al vino tinto son rejos congelados y no saben a vino; el secreto no es secreto sino cinta de lomo o panceta cortada muy fina y las Papas arrugas con mojo están cocidas y se nota en agua.

Entramos a este bar con el perrito pequeño de mi amigue, nos sentamos y nos tomaron el pedido de comida y bebidas sin problema. Sin embargo, cuando nos sirvieron las bebidas, la encargada se acercó y nos dijo que no podíamos estar con el perro. Fue muy incómodo, sobre todo porque no tenían el cartel que exige la Ley 9/2023 para informar que no permiten perros. Si hubiéramos sabido desde el principio, no habríamos entrado ni consumido. La atención al cliente deja mucho que desear.
