We celebrated my birthday at El Fongo Cantina & Grill and had an amazing experience! The food was fresh, hot, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious. Hugo, the owner, provided outstanding customer service and truly made my birthday feel special. His son was our host and did an excellent job, he was patient, attentive, and didn’t miss a beat taking a family of five’s order on a busy night. The drinks were perfectly crafted to our liking, the atmosphere was fun and welcoming, and my kids loved the grass wall photo-op area. They also offer live music on select Saturday nights, definitely call ahead to ask, because it adds great energy to the dining experience. Highly recommend!
Our waitress, Ana, was very friendly and attentive. The Texas fajita nachos had additional veggies, including mushrooms and squash. The meat was very tender and plentiful! Check out the swirl margarita! We love this restaurant!
Stop in for a quick dinner. Everything was amazing. Great service, good food and drinks. Definitely worth visiting.
Restaurant was clean, had a very welcoming feel. Our waiter was polite, responsive to all of our requests and check on us frequently to make sure everything was well. The food was very fresh and delicious. We got the menudo, grill chicken mexican torta and stuff avocados. Best part was being able to get menudo on a weekend, most Mexican restaurants only serve it on weekends.
The food was really good and filling, we all had to go boxes with leftovers. Our server Roxann was amazing! Very personable and took care to make sure everything was just the way we wanted it! We'll be back!
This is my first time visiting El Fogon and when I say all-star! It's an understatement from the host,to the people you the natural crowd on the inside. Not to mention the food wax or if this world!!! If you're ever in the Dacula area you should definitely stop by and check them out...I'd give them a 10/10 if I could, thank you guys for being nice to me and treating me with such great hospitality!!!
El Fogon is a must-visit! The food is absolutely delicious. But what truly sets this place apart is the exceptional service. Our server, Roxian, was amazing attentive, friendly, and made our dining experience unforgettable. Highly recommend!
First time here and definitely won’t be the last! The food was BOMB!!!!! My husband said their enchiladas verdes were the best enchiladas he’s had (and he tries them every Mexican restaurant we go to). The tacos were amazing, both chicken and steak taco. The tortilla soup was 10 out of 10 and the wings were very good as well. The atmosphere was a vibe and our server Ana, sealed the deal. She was friendly, funny, and warm…and attentive. This is our new spot! Definitely recommend.
El Fogon has been a staple for my family for a bit now. My favorite menu item is the grilled chicken quesadilla with a side of rice and beans. The rice is really soft and nicely flavored especially paired with the refried beans. The restaurant has always been very clean and kept together and the waiters and waitresses are very attentive and kind. I would recommend going to El fogon for the fun atmosphere, kind service and great food.
This food is amazing! Our server Roxann was very kind and knowledgeable of the entire menu. I had the grilled cheese burger. It was massive and delicious. I highly recommend eating here. The inside is nicely decorated too.
Great experience and delicious food!! Our waiter, Ana, was super attentive and great spirited; which definitely made our experience even more enjoyable. I would recommend her if it’s your first time too, definitely coming back again
This restaurant had wonderful service and a nice and calm atmosphere. Ana the Bartender was very professional and kind to us, and lightened up the mood. And her service was wonderful. As well as the food being delicious.
Fajitas are delicious! Margaritas are on the stronger side, the way we like them! 😆 The kids cleared their plates! Great spot!!
Zero idea why this place wasn't busier on a Friday night. The food was absolutely delicious. My wife had the el forgon tacos which I tried. They were amazing. Probably better than the fish tacos I got, and I thought they were fantastic. We will definitely be back.
My grandchildren and I chanced upon El Fogon. La comida fue muy rico!! The food was authentic, very large portions, and the staff was most helpful. Ask to sit in Ana's section, she'll take good care of you!
Incredible Food and Service: The Total 5-Star Package! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ What a wonderful dinner we had at El Fogon! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was lively and welcoming. Let's talk about the food: AMAZING. We sampled quite a bit, including the flavorful Molcajete, hearty burritos, and perfectly loaded nachos. Every dish was clearly made with care and tasted authentic. Seriously, everything was perfect. The service, however, truly elevated the evening. Our server, Yeni, was attentive, friendly, and a true professional. She made sure we had everything we needed without ever feeling rushed. If you want a fantastic combination of delicious food, great service (ask for Yeni!), and a wonderful atmosphere in Lawrenceville, look no further than El Fogon. Five stars all around!
We were invited here for a birthday dinner. We had about 10 people. Everyone ordering something different and it all looked so good! The food was AMAZING! The atmosphere was great and the owner and staff were so friendly and accommodating. This restaurant is a bit of a drive away from us but we will definitely go the extra miles! If you love Mexican food, you surely need to try this place! You will not be disappointed!! Best Mexican food we’ve ever had!!
This place had great flavors of Mexico. I ordered the Sweet Love Salmon Salad—the tangy sauce paired well with the flavor of the fish. The veggies were fresh and savory. The food was delicious! The service was excellent; our waitress, Heidi, was super friendly and cheerful. The interior was unique and beautifully designed.
I had the churros dessert and it was absolutely amazing! The churros were perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, topped with whipped cream, chocolate drizzle, and a cherry that added the perfect touch. The scoop of vanilla ice cream on the side made it even better—creamy, cold, and a great balance to the warm churros. It was beautifully presented and tasted just as good as it looked. Highly recommend if you’re craving something sweet!
Good place, we really like it inside, the staff was friendly. I got the El Fogon tacos with chicken but I added chorizo to them, it’s kinda my thing 🤷🏼♂️🙂 especially when they have pineapple like al pastor. The wife got pozole which was very good as well. The margarita wasn’t great for me, but it does the job.
The place is nice and clean inside. They have Mexican music playing. The menu is fairly large but with most of the things you’ll find at other Mexican joints. The food was just average. Very disappointed after reading the google reviews. I ordered steak street tacos. The highlight was the refried beans. The taco was just bland even with the sauce they gave me on them. For the price I could’ve bought three tacos that taste significantly better. No reason for me to come back. They’re short handed unfortunately, so service is slow. Just be mindful of that hole you’re there. I don’t realize it until I walked out and saw the sign. I only saw one lady working the floor. Some other fellow was behind the bar doing nothing.
Needing a lunch I pick El Fogon, my first and last time The food flavor is average. But I don't eat sticks. Staff says this looks like a bay leaf? I hope I heard that right. I cook, I don't cook hard sticks and this is certainly not a bay leaf. Have no idea what it is and don't care. I had only eaten half. There was a offer for another plate. I did not want to see what the next one had. I was charged and paid $20 for this. No offer to compensate for the stick. I do not recommend El Fogon. I will not go back. Obvious food safety issues.
I didn’t even know our waiter’s name was Ejidio until I saw it on the receipt because he never introduced himself. About 10 minutes after sitting down, he came to take our order. I ordered the Burrito Grande with chicken. He repeated it back incorrectly as the Burrito Grande Fajita. I politely told him, “No, I don’t think so , that’s the option below what I want.” Instead of simply clarifying, he argued with me and insisted that the Burrito Grande with chicken *is* the fajita version. It’s not. I can clearly read the menu , the fajita version includes peppers and onions, which I did not want. I reiterated my order, but as shown on the receipt, he still rang it in incorrectly. When the food arrived, I was served the Burrito Grande Fajita with peppers and onions. I barely ate it because it wasn’t what I ordered. The lettuce was old and mushy, and overall it lacked flavor. To make matters worse, the person I was with (on a first date, mind you) found a rock in his food. That completely ruined the rest of the experience for me. I was honestly distraught and couldn’t stop thinking about it. The service was awful. The food was awful. The location and style of the restaurant, however, were beautiful , it’s a very nice venue. Please train your staff accordingly. The time spent standing by the kitchen door talking and laughing could clearly be better used on improving service and attention to detail.
I came in after work and I wasn’t greeted at the door. I actually stood there for about 7 minutes before the lady finally asked me was I there for dine in? She then proceeded to walk me to a table on the side near the bar. (I noticed that all the black people were on that side) I ordered shrimp tacos, black beans. Every thing was nasty! The shrimp tacos had canned pineapples on them, corn shells were soggy and breaking apart and the chipotle sauce tasted awful. The black beans were out the can and had something weird looking in those, and finally the chips and salsa were bad. The chips tasted like they had been fried in burnt/ old oil. I had already had a bad day and the food there added insult to injury. I did tell the waitress that the food didn’t taste right. I just paid the $24 and left. You don’t have to worry about me coming back
I write this as I leave the parking lot. My folks like this place and they wanted to treat my husband and I for his birthday. We have been there before and it was good..that first time. Our waitress Anna was the only great thing from our visit today. She was sweet and patient. But the workshops I ordered were not cooked well and tasted spoiled. I’m not one to send food back because I know how hard food service can be but I asked if I could exchange it for something else. The manager (by title only and I’ll get to that in a few) told me just because I didn’t like it I couldn’t send it back and if I did, I would have to pay for a new plate as well as the spoiled one. The manager then proceeded to tell me if I wanted I could call the owner myself. The waitress and I explained that as manager he should call. He called and owner said nothing could be done and I would still have to pay for both plates. To say that this experience was bad is an understatement. Anna being the amazing waitress she is was apologetic. Skip this place. Find another family owned place to eat where they take care of its customers and staff. The manager needs training as he had no idea how to proceed besides giving me the full name and number of the owner which is insane. Never again.
