Ottimo locale , cibo buono e personale cortese e preparato. Locale molto curato

Durante una gita nella giornata di sabato con mia moglie ed altre due coppie di amici nella splendida Varenna, abbiamo deciso di pranzare in questo albergo ristorante ubicato in piazza San Giorgio, trovando un ambiente meno caotico rispetto ai locali sul lungolago. Mi aspetto sempre di poter assaggiare specialità inerenti ai luoghi visitati ma spesso ciò non accade. Questa volta invece abbiamo avuto la possibilità di gustare piatti con pesce di lago di ottima qualità, sia per quanto riguarda la materia prima che per come sono stati cucinati. Consiglio gli spaghetti alla chitarra con il ragù di pesce di lago. A fine pranzo anche limoncello offerto dalla casa (cosa mai scontata che fa molto piacere). Servizio ottimo, tempi di attesa giusti per avere piatti fatti al momento di questa qualità (se volete cibi pronti in un minuto andate al Mc Donald's). Qualità / prezzo ottima. Se andate a Varenna fermatevi a mangiare all'Albergo Ristorante Pizzeria del Sole.

Non ho soggiornato nell' hotel ma la pizza e i pizzoccheri erano ottimi. E Beppe è molto gentile e simpatico. L'opzione migliore a Varenna!

Sono entusiasta… ho fatto una bellissima figura da voi con la futura sposa e le altre amiche! Abbiamo trovato subito posto a Sedere senza aver prenotato. Ognuno di noi ha preso un piatto diverso, io personalmente pasta con frutti di mare: squisita! Porzioni abbondanti, ottima qualità, location grande e accogliente. A varenna se si vuole mangiare davvero bene spendendo il giusto bisogna provare il ristorante del sole che e anche facilmente raggiungibile… la prossima volta che sarò di passaggio verrò ancora a trovarvi! We stayed here and had a great experience! The room was wonderful and had an awesome view of the lake. Manuel was so great to us and helped us check in a bit early. Tomas was super friendly and helpful too- the whole team was great. The breakfast was delicious! Definitely recommend staying here.

Best Food! Best Value! Best Patio Vibe. We sampled multiple dining options during our 3 days around Lake Como. We happened on this place late one evening. The fried calamari is the best we have found in our 40 years of travel. If you have a multi-day trip, don't eat here first. It will cause you to be disappointed in the other restaurants...

During our 5 day holiday we had dinner here twice! Prices are very reasonable and the service is great. Waiters were very lovely and accommodating. Food tastes amazing and it had good portions. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Varenna!

Just had a delightful lunch here. Husband had lasagna- the sauce was rich and meaty. I had the salad with shrimp. Everything was fresh. Service was more prompt than expected and they were busy. One gentleman seemed to be overlooking how the servers were doing and kept everything running smoothly. Thanks guys for a good lunch!

It is very conveniently located, and the place is for tourists. It deserves beyond the current rating because some negative reviews with one star seem not correct. The restaurant did not provide tap water. See the information printed on the water bottle. The price was reasonable, so the visitors should expect that level of service. The staff did what they were supposed to do, and service was up to the expected level. Pasta and chicken we ordered were good enough. There are some 'warning' instructions, but considering the price range, it is understandable. (I can guess how much the owner/managers suffered from previous 'free-riding' guests.) The restaurant staff provided us enough time to relax and stay at the restaurant. I feel this restaurant is not overpriced (considering its location) and functioning decently.

We found this place by chance for dinner after visiting Villa Monastero. We sat outside—the atmosphere was super cozy and authentic, and the waiters super friendly and attentive. The pizza was incredibly delicious—thin crust and super fresh ingredients. The house white wine was excellent! Totally worth it!

Abbiamo trovato questo ristorante quasi per caso, in una domenica super affollata. Devo dire tutto buono, il servizio preciso e puntuale, anche il rapporto qualità prezzo apprezzabile.

Sale interne accoglienti e pulite, ci sono anche tavoli esterni sulla piazza, il personale gentile e molto efficiente. Buona e varia la scelta del menu. I nostri piatti erano ben preparati e ci siamo trovati bene. È un posto accogliente, comunque semplice. Prezzi in linea con la zona. Consigliato!

Preso "chitarra al ragù di lago" 15 euro buonissimi (il miglior piatto mangiato in questi giorni tra Milano e Varenna) . Peccato per i prezzi esagerati (forse pizze a parte) tipo 4 euro le lattine di bibite e 7 euro le patatine fritte, certo poi l'hotel di fronte è ancora più caro....

Sono Andreina Tessa ed ho soggiornato con mia sorella a Capodanno. Ringraziamo di cuore Gaetano, Thomas, Manuel, Ossas, Francesco e tutto lo staff " dietro le quinte" per la disponibilità, educazione, gentilezza e simpatia con cui ci hanno accolto, facendoci sentire come in famiglia.

Prenotato per cena con amici: non bastasse il rumore del vociare li ristorante diffonde musica tipo discoteca, bum, bum, bum, terribile! a volume eccessivo che non ti permette di chiaccherare.....da ora quando prenoto, chiederò se il locale diffo de musica o peggio ha un disk jokey..e non prenoterò più....

Siamo stati a mangiare una sera in settimana, purtroppo abbiamo trovato posto solo dentro al locale perché era tutto pieno. Piatti molto buoni, abbiamo preso come antipasto la piovra su crema di patate ed era veramente morbida! Ho poi proseguito con dei ravioli di magro con fonduta di parmigiano che erano veramente deliziosi, mentre il mio ragazzo ha preso un primo piatto di pesce, anche quello ottimo! Le porzioni sono abbondanti. Non metto 5 stelle solo perché abbiamo dovuto attendere diverso tempo per il primo, ma essendo in buona compagnia non ci è pesato. Anche i prezzi sono giusti.

Buon servizio e attenzione alle misure anti Covid (all'aperto i tavoli erano correttamente distanziati). All'aperto la location è molto carina, è davvero molto piacevole cenare nella tranquilla piazza. Buona la pizza, anche se per i miei gusti troppo salata. Prezzi nella media, ma troppo cara l'acqua (4€ per una bottiglia da 1 litro) e il coperto.

Food was very good, I recommend getting a dish with the fish that is caught in lake Como. I got the Chitarra Al Ragù Di Lago and the pizza with prosciutto cotto. Would definitely come back. Service was fast and efficient :)

My wife and I visited this restaurant in 2012 and had a great meal. So on our return to Varenna in Sept. 2025, regardless of the mediocre Google rating, we went there again. Del Sole did not disappoint, and in fact we had a delicious meal. The service was good, the ambiance a bit crazy due to a huge all-in thunderstorm, but ultimately the quality of the food was excellent. (Google won’t allow me to give it a 4.5!) Thoroughly enjoyed our return visit and highly recommend.

Pretty solid the start hotel. Room was pretty spacious and quite smart. Clean of course. Air conditioning and a small balcony (though share with the AC units). Simple but good breakfast. Location on the small square is very nice. Maybe if you go to bed early the square noise could be a problem, but it got quiet quite early and was no issue for us.

We stopped here for dinner after a day visiting Bellagio and Varena. This was the right choice for us. The pizzas were quite good. I took the Siciliana. It was good, but I was disappointed with the olives, which were not real black ones. The service was very good. Friendly and efficient. Overall, a good experience.

Noi ci siamo stati per cena e abbiamo scelto di mangiarci una pizza.Ottima scelta,la pizza era ben cotta e molto digeribile. Birra alla spina abbastanza banale,quelle in bottiglia avevano dei prezzi esorbitanti e abbiamo preferito alla spina......i prezzi sono alti, ma a Varenna risulta difficile(quasi impossibile) trovare prezzi decenti,soprattutto nei ristoranti e bar. Se avete un budget alto vi direi di andare altrove,altrimenti una pizza in questo ristorante non è una scelta sbagliata.

Molto positiva l'esperienza al ristorante con un risotto al pesce persico buonissimo. La stanza invece non era decisamente all'altezza del prezzo stellare (per dimensioni e rifiniture).

Abbiamo cenato al ristorante, ma non ci è sembrato nulla di eccezionale. Per quello che offre, riteniamo che i prezzi siano un po' alti. I pizzoccheri erano buoni, ma si sentiva poco il formaggio e c'era un po' troppo burro per i nostri gusti.

Mi limiteró a scrivere la recensione per il ristorante poichè non ho soggiornato nell’hotel. Arrivati sul posto si capisce subito che si tratta di un ristorante turistico, i camerieri sono piuttosto strani, poco loquaci e poco accoglienti. Appena ci siamo seduti ho notato subito la sporcizia sui muri, nelle tovaglie e anche i bicchieri, per non parlare del menù che sembrava provenire da una trincea. Abbiamo ordinato una pasta carbonara e una pizza. Le porzioni per la pasta sono giuste, la qualità è mediocre, per un rapporto qualità prezzo piuttosto basso. (12€) La pizza era anche quella mediocre, “mozzarella” scadente e anche l’impasto non era un granchè, il tutto per 8€. Ma la parte assurda è quando ho visto il prezzo dell’acqua da 1L che era di 4€. In poche parole un’esperienza che puó piacere solo ai turisti stranieri che queste cose probabilmente nemmeno le notano. Sconsigliato.

Pessima gestione. Personale e direttore incompetenti , svogliati, scortesi e maleducati evidentemente non fatti per questo lavoro , non in grado di comunicare educatamente e con toni normali e gentili con la clientela. Trasmettono e sembrano stufi di quel che fanno e "se te ne vai é meglio che fermarti". L'unica cosa che li salva e porta lavoro é certamente la posizione. Se uno per mangiare deve essere trattato a pesci in faccia anche no! Mai piú!

The food was okay, but the service was the worst we’ve ever had. We sat down and immediately felt the service was poor. We decided to give it a try because we were hungry. Our waiter, Carlos, took 19 minutes to take our order. As he was taking the order, he walked away and turned around every time we mentioned something about it. We ordered two Coca-Colas, but he walked away again. They gave us a bag of bread without anything else. Our water arrived 20 minutes later, and our food took another 15 minutes. By the time we got our food, we still had no soda. When our food arrived, they brought us an extra plate and insisted that we had ordered the other plates, even though we had mentioned that we hadn’t. When we tried to explain that he hadn’t taken the time to take our order properly, he just walked away again and said we were in Italy and needed it to explain better (whatever that means)😏 By this time, we were eating what they had brought out and still had no soda.lol We had a nice day, but this guy Carlos managed to ruin it in less than two minutes.
