Ambiente essenziale. Costo circa 140 a persona.
Fabrizio Draghi
Absolutely fantastic dinner. I requested a vegan menu ahead of time, and they prepared seven delicious courses of fresh, local food. The courses ranged from the simple to the complex, but all matched the wine well and flowed seamlessly from one to the next. The highlights for me were the spaghetti with chilli, garlic, and cauliflower sauce, as well as the pumpkin risotto with a delicate hoisin topping. I would highly recommend!
We always go to Il Ridotto when we visit Venice from Australia. Last Tuesday we very much enjoyed the flavour of the lobster and rabbit dishes - such surprising and delicious tastes. I loved the white wine the waiter chose for me, to go with the lobster. It is fun to try the amuse bouche and small sweet things they give you free at the beginning of the meal and with a hot drink at the end. They found some real mint to make tea for my daughter and me. They were so kind. Il Ridotto felt like a peaceful haven at the heart of a very busy city.
Had a fantastic meal here, highly recommended. It’s expensive, but very much worth the price - go for lunch if you want the best value. Each course was beautifully presented and delicious. Expect portions to be smaller (plenty!) and the quality to be far above average, with attentive service. Their wine suggestions for local wines were perfectly matched to the meal - I had the Rabbit, my wife enjoyed the fish of the day, and we shared a very nice seafood pasta and a wonderfully simple dessert. Also had a very nice regional Vermouth.
Came here for my birthday dinner :) i had a lovely time! the tasting menu experience was insane! everything tasted amazing!!!!! <3 the attention to detail in food AND service is really something ❤️ Sonia took care of us the minute we walked through the door :) we LOVED her!!! you can really tell that Head Chef and Owner is passionate about food! 🤩🥹 thank you to the whole team <3
Il Ridotto provided one of the most extraordinary dining experiences we’ve ever had! We chose the seven-course dinner, and every dish was an absolute masterpiece, beautifully crafted and bursting with flavor. From the delicate starters to the decadent dessert, each plate was a perfect balance of tradition and innovation. What truly elevated our evening, however, was the exceptional service from our waitress, Sonia. She was warm, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable, guiding us through the meal with enthusiasm and a genuine passion for the food. Her attention to detail made us feel completely cared for throughout the evening. The intimate and welcoming ambiance of the restaurant, paired with Sonia’s outstanding hospitality and the impeccable quality of every dish, made this a night to remember. Il Ridotto is a must-visit for anyone in Venice seeking an unforgettable culinary adventure!
We ate off the a la carte menu: we had the parsnip risotto, the gò fish tubetti pasta, the Black Sea urchin spaghetti, and the Guinea fowl ravioli. They were all so delicious! My favorite had to be the risotto, and the gò fish was unique and savory, a must-try for Venice. Our waiter Roberto was such a delight, offering recommendations off the menu and holding great conversation. The deserts were okay, not mind blowing but very pleasant, delicate flavors. If you’re looking for something experimental, aside from your traditional Venetian food, I’d recommend you try this place out!
As big foodies, we absolutely loved our dinner at Il Ridotto, came across it the night before and booked in for a Saturday early dinner. We took the seafood tasting menu and loved every bit of it - it's high quality ingredients with great flavours. The service was super attentive and lovely and we loved it is (or looked like) a family run place!
Some of the best food I’ve had. Definitely highlights classic Italian cuisine with a modern fun twist. Worthy of its one star. 9 table restaurant with excellent service. Recommend the 5 course option with wine pairing. Do go if you’re in Venice and looking for a dinner experience to remember.

We had a fantastic lunch here. We had a perfectly prepared turbot with aigrette! Really elevated food. Great service and wine recommendations, also.

One of our best meals, we chose the Al A Carte menu and it was excellent. the vegetable sampler was great, and the steak and scallops both wonderful. Service charming and wine list robust.

This is a gourmet restaurant which has very good creative cuisine. The scallops, zucchini, bearnaise sauce was tasty. The beef steak with potatoes and black garlic puree was delicious.
This restaurant has a touch of class; we had the tasting menu with matching wines, no prior indication of the courses but each one was a wonderful surprise, Viola at front of house is very friendly…
We chose the 5 course fish tasting menu, €130, not cheap but excellent: interesting, imaginative and generally delicious, plus nice amuses bouches, including bacala mantecato, a Venetian speciality…
Ambiente intimo. Servizio cordiale e attento. Chef giovane ma esperto. Menù degustazione ottimo. Abbinamenti azzardati e indovinati Buona carta dei vini.
Abbiamo cenato in questo ristorante carino e curato. Posto intimo e tranquillo.
Esperienza consigliata 🙂
We ordered from the a la carte menu. The lobster and scallops taste amazing. The squid ink pasta is a little too spicy for me, but my mum likes it a lot. The wine is just average tho. The waitress was very helpful, explained the dishes well Good experience overall if you are looking for a quiet place to dine in Venice!
A really lovely dining experience. I would give it a 4.5 out of 5. We ate from the a la carte menu and it was very tasty. I also had one of the wine trails which was also a nice mix of different white and red wines. This was a really great meal and I would definitely recommend it. When you go to fine dining restaurants you obviously hold it to a very high standard so 4.5 out of 5 should not be seen as a negative at all. The young man who served us was great and very polite. The only negative in this regard was the service slowed a bit as the restaurant got busier but this is no reflection on how good he was at explaining the food and wines etc.
Michelin star restaurant with a friendly service in a small and very well kept room. For lunch there's only a fixed menu option that's very good value (40€ + drinks). At night if you go 4 people you are forced into a 130 fixed menu (curiously the scallops in the fixed compulsory menu option do not have truffles though). If you are only with your couple you can choose from the menu. Good option for a nice meal away from the hundreds of tourist restaurants around the city, but better not go if you are more than 2 people.
Had lunch here at 12pm on a weekday and it was really quiet so it was just us in the restaurant. There was only one wait staff but she was really attentive and polite. Seems like the crowd started coming in only at around 1:30pm. They were flexible too since we wanted to order 2 different menus since we were on holiday and wanted to save our bellies to try other stuff elsewhere, very accommodative and allowed us to share our courses. The starters which were a plate of 3 tapas was delicious, we liked especially the scallops with mushrooms. Flavour was really en pointe. The salad was interesting, though we did not feel like the flavours harmonised but I liked and appreciated the creativity. The sea urchin pasta was delicious and I really enjoyed it. My partner however thought it was too fishy for his liking. Lastly the dessert definitely exceeded my expectations. The curds, the biscuit and the granita went well with each other. Am normally not a fan of grapefruit but the flavours and textures of the components all went really well with each other. Perfect end to the meal. Thanks for the experience!
Il Ridotto is a small fine dining restaurant run by a father-son duo who recreate traditional cuisine with a modern twist. Most ingredients are from Venice, and one of the three wine pairing options only contains wine from the region, too. Service was friendly and attentive. Initially, the pace at which the various courses were served was just perfect, however, as the restaurant became busier during the night, things slowed down a bit. We found the dishes all of high quality. Based on local tradition, all dishes were centered around local produce and fish from the lagoon. If you like well-made food served in a nice, relaxed atmosphere, you will enjoy a night out at Il Ridotto.
Not unusual to Venizia, there were only two people working front of house. Although they were both running nonstop it took nearly 4 hours for service. We had the first reservation of the night. Despite the slower than average service, the food is a clinic of classic French cuisine preparation. We got the 7 course tasting menu and were awed by no less than 9 courses. Raw fish, cooked seafood, cold soup, risotto al dente, beef ravioli, veal meatloaf, and desserts. Would I go back? Probably not. Was it worth the trip, absolutely. ~€400 for dinner for 2, a bottle of wine and 2 bottles of water.
The service here was excellent. It is quite small so I would recommend booking ahead. The cod paste starter was an interesting start. Next the lobster was delicious and the sauce added some creaminess to the whole plate. The sausage with potatoes was delicious, some of the best potatoes I had during my trip. The risotto was also quite good. Lastly the dessert was a bit odd I don’t think the ice cream went great with the peach sauce. It was definitely an interesting experience and worth going.
Nice experience and I recommend trying it if you’re into Michelin restaurants. The amuses bouches were bland but the verytasty scallops and rock shrimp more than made up for it. The black pasta with sea urchin was fab too. the final fish was too fishy for my taste. One of the servers was a little pompous but I’ll forgive him for that. The woman server was wonderful. I enjoyed the chef stopping by to say hi. Wish we could have shared the wine tasting because we’d had a little too much to drink earlier in the day but they wouldn’t let us. We sampled wines by the glass that were good if maybe on the bland side. The space was attractive. Could have used a hand towel in the bathroom. They seemed to have run out at the end of the evening and no one thought to stock up. I’d expect that from a Michelin star restaurant.
This restaurant is interesting since is not typically touristic regardless the area where is located . The menu offers several choices with recipes that make reference to the traditional Venetian …
Disappointed with this restaurant overall. Simply overpriced. Food was good but not the quality we were expecting. ambience poor.

Despite the nice people, not worthy of the status. Can’t understand the previous high reviews as the food was simply not good enough for the price paid. Had the 5 course tasting menu & thankfully…
Maybe it was an off night, a very off night, but the meals my wife and I had were not nearly up to expectations. First, the wait for our first course was almost 45 minutes (albeit following an amu…
Overall this wasn't a bad experience but it wasn't a star worthy experience, in my opinion. The service was excellent. The room was partitioned so the waiter had to keep popping in which gave the illusion of feeling rushed, but it wasn't. The 5 glass wine pairing was excellent, albeit the pours were light considering the 70 euro price point. The food was mostly uninspiring and safe. The most thought provoking dishes were the fowl ravioli & the ice cream. The potatoes on the rabbit & potato course lacked seasoning. All in all, it was just shy of a satisfactory experience. I left questioning my choice to come here.
Il Ridotto has an intimate setting and delicate plates, but my experience was mixed. The starters and desserts were the highlights, innovative such as the Negroni with a shark fin garnish stood out as the most inventive touch of the evening. Unfortunately, the risotto was undercooked, with grains still chalky at the core, which took away from the balance of the dish. Dessert was pleasant and well executed a bit Icelandic frozen yogurt inspired The real issue was the service: our dinner stretched to nearly four hours, and I’m not exaggerating. Courses arrived painfully slowly, to the point where other tables finished their meals entirely while we were still waiting. The staff remained polite, but the pacing ruined the flow of what could have been a memorable night. I know the restaurant is run by a father-and-son duo, and while the culinary ideas are promising, the service side still needs serious attention. For me, its a pass in Venice unless they resolve this.
We were so excited to visit this restaurant as it was hyped up as an amazing experience only seating 9 tables at a time. We were on our honeymoon so we were looking forward to a romantic dinner wit…
